[OVERVIEW]

Corphish is one of the best wallbreakers in LC thanks to its ability Adaptability and its Water typing, allowing it to take care of Pokemon like Onix and Ponyta. It also has access to priority with Aqua Jet, letting it take down faster Pokemon such as Vullaby after a Swords Dance and Stealth Rock damage, and coverage moves such as Knock Off and Superpower that allow it to threaten Frillish and Ferroseed. Crabhammer is one of its best neutral moves, as it can get off decent damage on most Pokemon and become even more threatening after a Swords Dance or Dragon Dance. However, Corphish struggles with Grass-types like Oddish, Electric-types like Chinchou, and especially Croagunk because of its ability Dry Skin, rendering Corphish's Water-type attacks useless, and resistances to with Superpower and Knock Off. Corphish also has trouble with special attackers like Wingull, Spritzee, and Galarian Ponyta due to its subpar Special Defense stat.

Moves
========

Crabhammer is Corphish's main way to do major damage to Spritzee, Timburr, and Galarian Farfetch'd while also OHKOing Vullaby after Stealth Rock damage, Ground-types such as Onix, and Fire-types such as Ponyta. Swords Dance-boosted Aqua Jet lets Corphish net KOs on faster Pokemon like Vullaby after Stealth Rock damage. Knock Off is great for getting rid of Eviolite on switch-ins such as Spritzee and Ferroseed. Swords Dance lets Corphish become a fearsome wallbreaker to take care of walls such as Mareanie and Spritzee. Alternatively, Dragon Dance allows it to outpace Pokemon it could not unboosted, such as Galarian Ponyta, Galarian Farfetch'd, and Vullaby. Superpower can be used over Knock Off in order to OHKO Ferroseed after a Swords Dance.

Set Details
========

Adaptability boosts Corphish's STAB attacks, which makes it a powerful attacker right off the bat. An Adamant nature with maximum Attack EVs further helps its wallbreaking abilities. 236 Speed EVs allow it to outpace Pokemon such as Timburr and Frillish.

Usage Tips
========

Corphish can force out Onix and Vullaby, so use Knock Off on incoming foes to remove their items. Use Swords Dance or Dragon Dance on Pokemon it can force out such as Ponyta and Drilbur. Use Corphish mid-game once its checks are weakened to use Swords Dance or Dragon Dance to sweep. Corphish can also be used early-game to remove items with Knock Off from the opposing team, assisting it and its teammates throughout the game. Be careful around special attackers such as Spritzee, Mareanie, and Galarian Ponyta, as Corphish cannot take their attacks well, and Will-O-Wisp users like Frillish and Ponyta, because Corphish cannot OHKO these without setting up with Swords Dance or Dragon Dance and can be crippled for the rest of the game.

Team Options
========

Onix and Mudbray are able to support Corphish with Stealth Rock to chip Pokemon on the switch and take care of Mareanie and Croagunk. Spikes users such as Ferroseed are great to use to wear down Pokemon and threaten Chinchou. Dewpider is useful for setting up Sticky Web, allowing Corphish to outpace Pokemon it could not before, and also greatly chip down Pokemon like Timburr with a Water Bubble-boosted Scald. Krabby goes well with Corphish to form a wallbreaking duo, as both can help take care of each other's threats. Timburr and Galarian Farfetch'd are great teammates due to their ability to take on Ferroseed and take Knock Off from Pawniard and Ferroseed well. Galarian Farfetch'd appreciates Corphish for being able to check Dragon Dance Onix and cripple Oddish and Mareanie with Knock Off, making it easier for Galarian Farfetch'd to take care of them. Ponyta is a great partner for Corphish, as it is able to take down Grass-types such as Oddish and Ferroseed. Corphish also appreciates Ponyta due to Will-O-Wisp crippling physical attackers such as Galarian Farfetch'd and Vullaby. Vullaby is a great partner to take care of Grass-types that Corphish struggles with such as Oddish and Ferroseed. Diglett is helpful for trapping and OHKOing Chinchou and Croagunk with Earthquake. Pawniard helps Corphish by pressuring Pokemon such as Spritzee as well as Shellder and Galarian Ponyta with Sucker Punch. Spritzee can deal with troubling Fighting-types that threaten an unboosted Corphish such as Timburr and Galarian Farfetch'd, making it easier for Corphish to set up.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Life Orb can be used to enable Corphish to OHKO Galarian Ponyta with Aqua Jet and 2HKO most of the metagame, but it is not worth the drop in bulk and recoil. A Choice Scarf or Choice Band set can look appealing thanks to Corphish's strong STAB moves and ability to cripple walls with Switcheroo, but the Choice lock and the drop in bulk make it not worthwhile.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types**: Oddish gives Corphish trouble, as it can use its STAB attacks or Strength Sap to take care of it. If Corphish is not running Superpower, Ferroseed can also wall it, as it can take a boosted Knock Off and greatly weaken Corphish with its Grass-type STAB attacks.

**Croagunk**: Corphish falls short against Croagunk thanks to its typing and its ability Dry Skin, allowing it to absorb Corphish's STAB attacks.

**Chinchou**: Chinchou can use its Electric-type attacks to OHKO Corphish.

**Mareanie**: Mareanie is able to wall Corphish thanks to its resistance to Crabhammer and ability to tank any attack from it after using Iron Defense.

**Timburr and Spritzee**: Pokemon like Timburr and Spritzee are both able to take a Crabhammer from Corphish and severely damage it back with Drain Punch or Moonblast, respectively.

**Special Attackers**: Corphish is more vulnerable to special attacks because of its low Special Defense stat, so Galarian Ponyta and Spritzee can check Corphish because of their ability to either outpace or take a hit from Corphish.

**Status**: Will-O-Wisp users like Frillish can cripple Corphish for the rest of the game. Thunder Wave will cripple it and leave it unable to outpace most Pokemon. Poison from Toxic Spikes will also put Corphish on a timer and eventually take care of it.

OVERVIEW
* It also has priority with Aqua Jet that allows it to take down Pokemon such as Life Orb Galarian Ponyta after a Swords Dance.
Would like to see a more relevant example here.

Swords Dance is the set name so should be the first move in the set. Re-order moves to match the order in the set.

this is kind of a messy check so please ask if you have questions

* It also has priority with Aqua Jet that allows it to take down faster Pokemon such as Vullaby and Rufflet after a Swords Dance and Stealth Rock damage.
kind of weird picks. corph's jet is the only good water type prio in the meta, which is good for a number of reasons but mostly lets it be a non-timburr check to dd onix for offense. this isn't bad and we can leave it but add "faster" at least please

* It can also use Crabhammer to break down teams after a Swords Dance.
doesn't necessarily need an sd, it's just one of the most powerful neutral moves in lc
* However, Corphish struggles with Grass-types like Oddish and Electric-types like Chinchou. Corphish also has trouble with Pokemon that can carry Electric- or Grass-type coverage attacks such as Galarian Farfetch'd and Timburr as these can severely dent or OHKO Corphish.
* Corphish also struggles with Croagunk because of its ability Dry Skin rendering its water attacks useless and cannot do much damage with Superpower or Knock Off.
* It further struggles with Choice Scarf users if it has not set up such as Rufflet due to them outpacing and OHKOing it.
* Has trouble with special attackers like Wingull due to its subpar Special Defense stat.
these are too specific for the overview imo. it lacks immediate wallbreaking power to bust through oddish and mareanie, and its low speed / special defense inhibit opportunities to boost and/or sweep.

what does the sdef point do vs a defense point

* Swords Dance let Corphish become a fearsome wallbreaker to take care of walls such as Mareanie and Spritzee.
* Crabhammer is the main way to major damage to Spritzee, Timburr and Galarian Farfetch'd and OHKO Vullaby after Stealth Rock damage and Ground- and Fire-types like Onix and Ponyta. separate onix and ponyta, this way makes it sound like both are ground/fire
* Aqua Jet lets Corphish net KOs after a Swords Dance on frail Pokemon such as Galarian Ponyta and Cuteifly after Stealth Rock damage. remove cutie. pony is also not frail. change wording so that its more of a focus on being able to ko weakened faster pokemon
* Knock Off is great for knocking off Eviolite and Choice Scarf on the switch from Spritzee and Pawniard. dont mention pawn here, it isnt a corp switch
* Superpower can be used over Knock Off in order to to OHKO Ferroseed after a Swords Dance.

* Its ability, Adaptability allows Corphish's STAB attack to be boosted, which makes it be a powerful attacker right off the bat.
* Having an Adamant with max Attack EV further helps its wallbreaking abilities.
* 236 Spe allows it to outpace Pokemon such as Timburr and Frillish.
sdef?

* Use Knock Off when it it can pressure Pokemon such as Onix and Vullaby out to get rid of the item on the Pokemon being switched in.
* Use Swords Dance on Pokemon it forces out such as Ponyta and Drilbur.
* Use Corphish mid-game once its checks are weakened to use Swords Dance to sweep. corp can also be used early to spread knocks
* Be careful around Special Attackers such as Spritzee, Mareanie and Galarian Ponyta because of its subpar Special Defense stat, it cannot take these attacks well.
* Be wary about facing Choice Scarf users such as Rufflet and Galarian Farfetch'd as these can take care of Corphish. both of these are faster anyway. don't mention choice scarf when dd isn't on the set, so cut this line
* Do not leave Corphish in on Will-O-Wisp users such as Frillish and Ponyta if it does not have a Sword Dance set up as this cripples Corphish for the rest of the game.

Team Options
========

* Onix and Mudbray are able to support Corphish with using Stealth Rock to help chip Pokemon on the switch in. Onix is able to pressure Chinchou while Mudbray can take care of Pawniard. Spikes users such as Ferroseed is great to use to help chip Pokemon and also be a way to deal with trouble
onix is 4x weak to one of chinchou's stabs, move that to ferroseed. pawniard is also largely not an issue for corphish. talk about dealing with mareanie, croagunk instead. "also be a way to deal with trouble" doesn't mean anything

* Ponyta is great to be able to take down Grass-types such as Oddish and Ferroseed. Corphish also appreciates Ponyta due to Will-O-Wisp crippling physical attackers such as Galarian Farfetch'd and Vullaby.
burned physical attackers = set up opportunities, make that clea

consider partners that want corphish's wallbreaking ability. for example, farf-g can take adv of corphish knocking mareanie/oddish. (it also likes the fact that corph checks dd onix due to opportunity cost in using farf>timb.)

OK cool. I talked some to other QC members and thought about it myself some more, and I think that every Corphish set basically fits into the same mold, with only slight differentiation between each. I think that this analysis would be best served as one composite set, even if there are many slashes in that set.

move 1: Crabhammer
move 2: Aqua Jet
move 3: Knock Off / Superpower
move 4: Swords Dance / Dragon Dance / Superpower
item: Eviolite
ability: Adaptability
nature: Adamant
evs: 196 Atk / 76 Def / 236 Spe

If "too many slashes" is a serious concern, we can drop Superpower from the last slot, but I think it's OK as it is.

All Corphish sets aim to bust up standard LC defensive cores, while providing utility with Aqua Jet. Knock Off vs Superpower can be talked about in coverage differences, and the benefits of SD vs DD vs all-out-attacker can be explained as well. (SD is better vs the bulky stuff like Spritzee, DD is better vs mid-speed Pokemon like Vulla/Pawn, Superpower is better for teams that just want Corphish to spread Knock Offs and chip Ferroseed with Superpower.)

* Pokemon that run Stealth Rock or Spikes such as Onix, Pawniard and Ferroseed can set down hazards to help Corphish sweep later in the game. Ferroseed is also able to switch into Chinchou's attack which it appiractes, while Onix can threaten Rufflet while Pawniard can help with Spritzee.
Cut the Rufflet mention. I would also cut the Spritzee mention, as Corphish handles it adequately on its own and does not need a teammate to do so.

* Krabby goes well with Corphish to form a wallbreaking duo as one can run Knock Off while the other can run Superpower to help take care of each others threats.
Don't specify that one must run Knock Off and one must run Superpower. The Krabby mention is fine because the two do chip at each other's answers, but be more vague about it here; we don't need to specify the sets.

* Galarian Farfetch'd is a great partner due to it being able to take care of Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Pawniard. It can also threaten Oddish with Knock Off and Brave Bird.
It can lure Oddish, sure, but I don't personally think Farfetch'd needs an explicit mention here.

* Vullaby is great to take care of Grass-types that Corphish struggle with such as Oddish and Ferroseed.
* Ponyta can also take care of Oddish and Ferroseed, along with other Steel-types like Pawniard and Fairy-types such as Cuitefly. It can also threaten physical attackers with Will-O-Wisp.
I notice you have done this several times, but don't generalize X-types unless they are universally dangerous for a Pokemon. Fairy-types are not universally dangerous for Corphish, and neither are Steel-types. Also, cut the Cutiefly mention.

* Diglett is a helpful for trapping Chinchou and Croagunk as it can OHKO these with Earthquake.
* Dewpider is useful for setting up Sticky Web that makes Corphish to outpace the whole metagame after a Dragon Dance.
Don't specify Dragon Dance here. Sticky Web is good, and Dewpider also functions similarly to Krabby as a partner, as it is very strong.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

* Life Orb can be used to enable Corphish to be able OHKO Galarian Ponyta with Aqua Jet and 2HKO most of the metagame. However, now Corphish gets OHKOed by Spritzee.
Too specific, and these aren't particularly common benchmarks. Life Orb should be mentioned here, but the reasoning is just a more generalized version of what you said: the damage output is usually not worth the drop in bulk and the LO recoil.

I would also mention (and shut down) the idea of a Choice item set. "Choice Band/Choice Scarf look appealing because of Corphish's strong STAB moves and access to Switcheroo, but..." blah blah.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types and Grass coverage**: Oddish gives Corphish trouble as it can use its Grass-STAB or Strength Sap to take care of it. If not running Superpower, Ferroseed can wall Corphish as it can take a boosted Knock Off and greatly weaken Corphish with its Grass STAB attacks. Pokemon that sometimes run Grass coverage like Galarian Farfetch'd can surprise Corphish and severely chip it.
Remove Grass-type coverage and its mention in the paragraph. Farfetch'd should never be running Grass-type coverage, and there is no other Pokemon that I can think of that would do so now that HP Grass is gone.

**Choice Scarf users**: Choice Scarf users such as Galarian Farfetch'd give Corphish trouble as both of these can OHKO Corphish and do not fear Corphish if it has not set up with Swords Dance.
You say "both" while mentioning only one Pokemon, and Farfetch'd does not OHKO Corphish. It also fears Corphish if it has set up an SD. Cut Farfetch'd, mention something else like Chinchou.

**Special Attackers**: Special Attackers such as Spritzee and Galarian Ponyta can 2HKO Corphish and can OHKO it after setting up with Calm Mind.
Cut Calm Mind mention, nothing is going to boost in the face of Corphish. "Corphish is more vulnerable to special attacks because of its lower Special Defense, so X Y and Z are solid checks because of their ability to outspeed/tank a hit."

**Status**: Will-O-Wisp users like Frillish and Ponyta can cripple Corphish for the rest of the game. Thunder Wave will also make it unable to outpace Spriztee and Ferroseed. Poison from Toxic Spikes will also put Corphish on a timer and will eventually take care of it.
Don't mention Ponyta as an answer to Corphish, even if it can burn it via Wisp. Thunder Wave does cripple it, but no need to specify Ferroseed and Spritzee; making it slower than the vast majority of Pokemon is enough.

**Electric-types and coverage**: Electric-types like Chinchou can its STAB to OHKO Corphish. Timburr can use Thunder Punch to severely chip Corphish.
The only Electric-type in our metagame is Chinchou. Change this to Chinchou.

**Croagunk**: Corphish fails to do anything to Croagunk thanks to its typing and its Dry Skin ability allowing it to absorb Corphish's STAB attacks.
Move this much higher.

Mention Mareanie, who is by far one of the best answers to Corphish in the metagame. Additionally, mention Pokemon who are able to take one hit and do significant damage in return, such as Timburr and Spritzee.

Hi, Yami. The QC team has generally expressed a preference for having a single condensed set as jake mentioned above. Thus, you should do one of two things:

1. Condense the sets OR
2. If you think having two sets is significantly better, you should post as to why and we will reconsider

Thanks so much for your work on this!

Life Orb can be used to enable Corphish to be able OHKO Galarian Ponyta with Aqua Jet and 2HKO most of the metagame, but it is not worth it the drop in bulk and recoil from Life Orb. A Choice Scarf or Choice Band set can look appealing thanks to Corphish's strong STAB moves and able ability to trick walls with Switcheroo, but it is not worthwhile because of being choice locked Choice-locked and the drop in bulk makes it not worthwhile.

**Grass-types**: Oddish gives Corphish trouble, (AC) as it can use its Grass-STAB attacks (use "Grass-type attacks" or just "STAB attacks") or Strength Sap to take care of it. If not running Superpower, Ferroseed can wall Corphish, (AC) as it can take a boosted Knock Off and greatly weaken Corphish with its Grass STAB attacks.

**Croagunk**: Corphish fails to do anything to falls short against (optional, but the phrasing makes it sound like corphish is completely walled by croagunk, but you can at least knock it or chip it no?) Croagunk thanks to its typing and its Dry Skin ability, (AC) allowing it to absorb Corphish's STAB attacks.

**Chinchou**: Chinchou can use its Electric-type STAB attacks to OHKO Corphish.

**Mareanie**: Mareanie is able to wall Corphish thanks to it resisting Crabhammer and can Iron Defense to tank any attack from it.

**Timburr and Spritzee**: Pokemon like Timburr and Spritzee are both able to take a Crabhammer from Corphish and servely severely damage it back with Drain Punch or Moonblast.

**Special Attackers**: Corphish is more vulnerable to special attacks because of its low Special Defense stat, so Galarian Ponyta and Spritzee are can checks Corphish because of their ability to either outpace or take a hit from Corphish.

**Status**: Will-O-Wisp users like Frillish can cripple Corphish for the rest of the game. Thunder Wave will cripple it and leave it unable to outpace most Pokemon. Poison from Toxic Spikes will also put Corphish on a timer, (AC) and will eventually take care of it.

[OVERVIEW]

Corphish is one of the best wallbreakers in LC thanks to its ability Adaptability and its Water typing, allowing it to take care of Pokemon like Onix and Ponyta. It also has access to priority with Aqua Jet, allowing it to letting it (less repetition) take down faster Pokemon such as Vullaby after a Swords Dance and Stealth Rock damage. Corphish also has access to moves such as Knock Off and Superpower that allow it to threaten Frillish and Ferroseed. It also can use Crabhammer, which is one of the its best neutral hitting moves, as it can get off decent damage on most Pokemon and become even more threatening after a Swords Dance or Dragon Dance. However, Corphish struggles with Grass-types like Oddish and Electric-types like Chinchou. Corphish also struggles with Croagunk because of its ability Dry Skin, rendering its Water-type attacks useless, (AC) and it cannot do much damage with Superpower or Knock Off. Corphish also has trouble with special attackers like Wingull, Spritzee, and Galarian Ponyta due to its subpar Special Defense stat.

Crabhammer is the main way to do major damage to Spritzee, Timburr, and Galarian Farfetch'd while also OHKOing Vullaby after Stealth Rock damage, (AC) and Ground-types like such as Onix, (AC) and Fire-types such as Ponyta. Aqua Jet lets Corphish net KOs after a Swords Dance on faster Pokemon like Vullaby after Stealth Rock damage. Knock Off is great for getting rid of Eviolite on the switch from switch-ins such as Spritzee and Ferroseed. Swords Dance lets Corphish become a fearsome wallbreaker to take care of walls such as Mareanie and Spritzee. Alternatively, (AC) Dragon Dance boost its Attack and allows it to outpace Pokemon it could not unboosted, such as Galarian Ponyta, Galarian Farfetch'd, and Vullaby. Superpower can be used over Knock Off in order to OHKO Ferroseed after a Swords Dance.

Set Details

Its ability, Adaptability, (RC) boosts Corphish's STAB attacks, (AC) which makes it a powerful attacker right off the bat. An Adamant nature with maximum Attack EVs further helps its wallbreaking abilities. 236 Speed EVs allow it to outpace Pokemon such as Timburr and Frillish.

Usage Tips
========

Corphish can also be used early-game to use Knock Off to remove items with Knock Off from the opposing team, assisting it and its teammates throughout the game. Be careful around special attackers such as Spritzee, Mareanie, and Galarian Ponyta, as Corphish cannot take their attacks well. Be careful around Will-O-Wisp users like Frillish and Ponyta because Corphish cannot OHKO these without setup from setting up with Sword Dance or Dragon Dance and can be crippled for the rest of the game.

Team Options
========

Onix and Mudbray are able to support Corphish with Stealth Rock to chip Pokemon on the switch-in and take care of Mareanie and Croagunk. Spikes users such as Ferroseed are great to use to chip Pokemon and threaten Chinchou. Dewpider is useful for setting up Sticky Web, allowing Corphish to outpace Pokemon it could not before; Dewpider, (AC) and can also greatly chip down Pokemon like Timburr greatly with a Water Bubble boosted Scald. Krabby goes well with Corphish to form a wallbreaking duo, as they can help take care of each others threats. Timburr and Galarian Farfetch'd are great teammates due to being able to take on Ferroseed and can take Knock Off from Pawniard and Ferroseed and Pawniard well. Galarian Farfetch'd appreciates Corphish for being able to check Dragon Dance Onix and use Knock Off on cripple Oddish and Mareanie with Knock Off, making it easier for Galarian Farfetch'd to take care of these them. Spritzee can deal with troubling Fighting-types that threaten an unboosted Corphish such as Timburr and Galarian Farfetch'd, making it easier for Corphish to set up (space).

Other Options
=============

Life Orb can be used to enable Corphish to OHKO Galarian Ponyta with Aqua Jet and 2HKO most of the metagame, but it is not worth the drop in bulk and recoil. A Choice Scarf or Choice Band set can look appealing thanks to Corphish's strong STAB moves and ability to trick cripple walls with Switcheroo, but being Choice-locked and the drop in bulk makes it not worthwhile.
