Team 2's newest member is Mega Sableye!
sableye-mega.gif

Sableye @ Sablenite
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 112 Def / 144 SpD
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover
- Foul Play

We're nearing the end! Now's the time to nominate Team 2's last Pokemon. Voting will start on the 27th.

Also, from now on voting will take place in this thread. Hopefully we can get a few more votes this way, as the last weeks have been a bit quiet.

kyurem-black.gif

Kyurem-Black @ Life Orb
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 20 Atk / 252 SpA / 236 Spe
Mild Nature
- Ice Beam
- Earth Power
- Fusion Bolt
- Roost

Nothing on Team 1 wants to switch in on Kyurem-B except Klefki who is food for Mega Sableye anyway. Kyurem-B can help in defeating Starmie, Raikou and Manaphy which can be problematic for the team while also serving as a secondary check for Mega Latias with Ice Beam. Although this compounds Team 2's weakness to Fairies, most Fairies are outsped and take a big hit from Iron Head or are checked by Victini anyway. I'm completely open to changing Iron Head to Roost, though, as this increases it's survivability greatly with LO recoil (although Mega Sableye should help out in the hazards department).

EDIT: 236 Spe allows Kyurem-B to outspeed up to +Spe base 80s, which conveniently also lets it outpace all of Team 1's current Pokemon (except Gengar), allowing it to deal good damage. Going with Roost because recovery is good.

Stealing bludz's idea of Thundurus

thundurus.gif

Thundurus @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
- Nasty Plot
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power Ice
- Sludge Wave

I think everyone knows the infamous Double Genie core by now (although sadly, this is the last time we have a chance to see it). As was discussed earlier, Thundurus can do whatever it wants against Team 1 with it's high Speed and good coverage (unless it gets weakened to the point where Bisharp can pick it off with Sucker Punch). Life Orb and Nasty Plot are used to allow Thundurus to hit as hard as possible while Sludge Wave allows you to screw over Clefable and other Fairies.

So yeah I know this is kinda random as hell but Team 2 is potentially weak to a BD Slurpuff sweep if Victini is weakened. I mean in general offensive fairies are just a pain in the ass outside of Victini but a Specs Sylveon would do a number on the team as well. Don't have a nom right now but I think that a steel type is probably the way to go, I'll drop back in later when I've come up with something.

Yeah, the team as it is now is pretty open to Manaphy, Volcarona and Fairies (as I stated earlier in the thread). But then, I can't think of any fast Offensive fairies outside of Megas (and Slurpuff, which I haven't faced before so I have no idea how good it is) so I just kinda ignored it. (Perhaps I'm underestimating Slurpuff since it can only set-up on Choice-locked Keldeo and Mega Sableye)

EDIT: Any thoughts on that Kyurem-B? It basically does the same things as Thundurus except it is slower and weak to Fairies. It is interesting to see how well it handles Starmie and Manaphy though.

I'm not interested in making a nomination for this but I wanna point out that any variant of Heatran would work for potential fairies/Volc while countering Klefki too. Spdef checks Gar, plus you can use Toxic and Roar on manaphy if team 1 chooses that. Or Air Balloon sets could check Garchomp.

Problem is Heatran doesn't achieve much against the team. Sure, it does OK against Gengar (who can still hit it hard with Focus Blast. Even Shadow Ball + Focus Blast + Rocks is an easy KO), Garchomp wipes the floor with it, it wins against Bisharp although Bisharp hits it very hard with Knock Off, Latias-M simply sets up on it (unless it runs Toxic). It beats Klefki, I guess but that's it.

Let's give this project a little life, shall we? 3 AM and nothin' to do ♬

Dragonite @ Lum Berry
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Extreme Speed
- Fire Punch

Dragonite has a really easy time setting up against the majority of team one, and after a boost you can pretty much say goodbye to the entire team. The only thing that really poses a threat to Dragonite is Klefki, which can Magnet Rise against Dragonite's Earthquake, which is the reason for Fire Punch. Dragonite also handles Mega Latias pretty well, completely setting up on it, which can easily sweep team 2 once Sableye is defeated. Thanks to Sableye bouncing away Stealth Rock, Multiscale will hopefully be intact, which also means that Gengar and Bisharp are going to have a seriously hard time breaking through it. Final Gambit Victini also weakens down any supposed checks, leaving a fantastic opportunity for Dragonite to sweep. Lum Berry is solely for Klefki, as Thunder Wave can really cripple Dragonite. I didn't put Outrage simply because it locks Dragonite in. Even though it guarantees the KO on Garchomp, Klefki gets a free switch in and Bisharp can still live it.

  1. Users with fewer than 25 posts will not be allowed to vote. This is to prevent people from making alts or getting their friends to join in order to manipulate the votes.
  2. To avoid vote bandwagoning, please PM me your votes.
  3. You are allowed to vote for your own submission.
Voters will pick their two favorite submissions. A ballot should look something like this.

Tyranitar
Azumarill

Each Pokemon will receive votes based on their position in the ballot. To use the above example, Tyranitar will receive 2 votes, and Azumarill will receive 1 vote.

At the end of the voting period, the Pokemon with the most votes will become the first Pokemon on Team 1.

Just a reminder, we're voting in thread now.

Candidates:

Voting will end on June 29th.

Feel free to continue discussing candidates until the 29th.

And Dragonite will finish off Team 2's roster!

Dragonite @ Lum Berry
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Extreme Speed
- Fire Punch

We're into the final week of voting! Now's the time to nominate Team 1's last Pokemon!

Voting will start on the 4th of July.

latios.gif

Latios @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
IVs: 29 HP / 0 Atk
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Roost
- Calm Mind

Changing my nomination to Latios. This set forces Team 2 to sack a Pokemon each time it comes in. +1 Draco Meteor one-shots Mega Sableye and murders Dragonite through Multiscale when boosted by Life Orb. Roost helps to offset the residual damage. If we choose this, Dragonite becomes more dangerous. However, it causes extreme pressure on Team 2.

Aight, haven't participated in this for a while, but I saw it was my last to chance to make a nom, so here it is:

clefable.gif

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 68 Def / 188 SpD
Calm Nature
- Moonblast
- Calm Mind
- Ice Beam
- Soft-Boiled

Team 2 is incredibly weak to Calm Mind Clefable, and without a Steel type, Clef can opt for Ice Beam to gain super effective coverage on 5/6 mons on Team 2's team. The spread is also designed to counter Team 2's mons as efficiently as possible. It is optimized so that Clef can beat every mon on Team 2 1v1 from full barring Victini. Hell, it even sets up CMs on 3-4 of Team 2's mons from full, so it will be very hard for Team 2 to play around a Clefable sweep. See calcs below to see what I'm talking about.

0 SpA Adaptability Dragalge Sludge Wave vs. 252 HP / 188+ SpD Clefable: 220-260 (55.8 - 65.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 SpA Adaptability Dragalge Sludge Wave vs. +1 252 HP / 188+ SpD Clefable: 148-176 (37.5 - 44.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ Atk Victini V-create vs. 252 HP / 68 Def Clefable: 319-376 (80.9 - 95.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Victini Bolt Strike vs. 252 HP / 68 Def Clefable: 153-181 (38.8 - 45.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

252 SpA Choice Specs Keldeo Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 188+ SpD Clefable: 220-259 (55.8 - 65.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Choice Specs Keldeo Scald vs. 252 HP / 188+ SpD Clefable: 160-189 (40.6 - 47.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Choice Specs Keldeo Hydro Pump vs. +1 252 HP / 188+ SpD Clefable: 147-174 (37.3 - 44.1%) -- 100% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Landorus Earth Power vs. 252 HP / 188+ SpD Clefable: 187-220 (47.4 - 55.8%) -- 21.5% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Landorus Earth Power vs. +1 252 HP / 188+ SpD Clefable: 125-148 (31.7 - 37.5%) -- 0.1% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ Atk Dragonite Extreme Speed vs. 252 HP / 68 Def Clefable: 117-138 (29.6 - 35%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
+1 252+ Atk Dragonite Extreme Speed vs. 252 HP / 68 Def Clefable: 174-205 (44.1 - 52%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Note that some of these calcs may not be entirely realistic because Clef will likely act as a Knock Off absorber, so it will potentially lose it's lefties early.

719.gif

Diancie @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Earth Power

Regular Diancie actually puts in a lot of work on team 2... despite it being a very unconventional nom I think it can put in work.

It walls Dragonite, walls Sableye, nothing really switches in on it for free, it stops V-Create spam even more and it provides a lot of trouble for team 2 trying to switch into a good check to it without taking a lot of damage.

RestTalk isn't overly efficient but it's a good way to keep good health up to deal with Sableye's Will-O-Wisp and Dragalge's Scalds. If anyone else thinks another move would be better just let me know, I might change it.

It just easily beats Sableye with no trouble:

252+ SpA Diancie Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 144+ SpD Mega Sableye: 204-240 (67.1 - 78.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

0 Atk Mega Sableye Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Diancie: 32-38 (10.5 - 12.5%) -- possibly the worst move ever

0 Atk Mega Sableye Knock Off vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Diancie: 21-26 (6.9 - 8.5%) -- possibly the worst move ever

0 Atk Mega Sableye Foul Play vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Diancie: 28-33 (9.2 - 10.8%) -- possibly the worst move ever

Even if somehow, Dragonite gets to +6 and keeps its Scale, Diancie eats up its Extremespeed and 2HKOes easily with Moonblast (Scale is broken on the second one)

+6 252+ Atk Dragonite Extreme Speed vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Diancie: 137-162 (45 - 53.2%) -- 0.4% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ SpA Diancie Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Multiscale Dragonite: 142-168 (43.9 - 52%) -- 11.7% chance to 2HKO

Keldeo understandably OHKOes with Hydro Pump, Scald is a roll, but Keldeo is definitely not a switchin:

252 SpA Choice Specs Keldeo Scald vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Diancie: 276-326 (90.7 - 107.2%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO

252+ SpA Diancie Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Keldeo: 308-366 (95.3 - 113.3%) -- 75% chance to OHKO

Similarly, Landorus can easily OHKO due to its insane super effective power, but cannot switch in:

252+ SpA Diancie Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Landorus: 190-225 (59.5 - 70.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Victini OHKOes with Final Gambit, but its other moves don't do much. Besides, Latias and Garchomp are the primary switchins to it anyway, and of course it isn't really a long term stop:

252+ Atk Victini V-create vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Diancie: 94-111 (30.9 - 36.5%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ SpA Diancie Earth Power vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Victini: 180-212 (52.7 - 62.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Lastly, Dragalge can't do a whole lot of damage, and neither can Diancie, but Diancie slightly outdamages.

0 SpA Adaptability Dragalge Sludge Wave vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Diancie: 94-112 (30.9 - 36.8%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ SpA Diancie Earth Power vs. 248 HP / 232+ SpD Dragalge: 114-136 (34.2 - 40.8%) -- 54.1% chance to 3HKO after Black Sludge recovery

togekiss.gif

Togekiss @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 248 HP / 172 Def / 88 SpA
Bold Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Roost
- Dazzling Gleam
- Heal Bell

There isn't much else that can be added to this team to counter Sableye. Togekiss really would need 2 additional moves, defog and air slash/twave but this is good enough.
Heal Bell can heal Garchomp after a Rest and get rid of the annoying scald burns. Dazzling Gleam hits harder than Air Slash and staying in on Dragalge for a flinch is too risky.
The EVs allow Togekiss to live 3 +1 Extremespeeds after rocks and without leftovers. 88 SpA EVs give Togekiss more strengh to wear down the opposing team, since only Dragalge has recovery.

sylveon.gif

Sylveon @ Choice Specs
EVs: 244 HP / 252 SpA / 12 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Shadow Ball
- Baton Pass

Team 2 has no good switch-ins to this bar Victini which is 2HKO'd after Stealth Rocks and it can take a couple attacks from Dragonite

5 nominations this time, and 4 out of 5 are fairy-types. To spark some discussion, let' see what they bring to the table:

1) Latios: Basically just a fast Pokemon that nukes the entire opponent's team (and as stated, each time it comes in, the opponent needs to sack something). However, after using a Draco Meteor, the opponent can do whatever they want (such as setting up with Dragonite). It does come with Roost so it can help in checking Keldeo and Landorus while also able to survive Victini's V-Create. The drawback is really dangerous though.

2) Clefable: This is a good win condition which also counters Mega Sableye and Dragonite. It can set-up for free in front of a Choice-locked Keldeo, Mega Sableye and Dragonite while also being annoying to kill. It also pressures the opponent into playing very carefully with Victini (which can be trapped or worn down by Rocky Helmet + Rough Skin).

3) Diancie: Looks like a solid and unusual nomination. This Pokemon, on paper, should be able to hold it's own against the opponent as nothing switches in freely on it. It trades the Speed of Latios (which makes it annoying to revenge kill for the opponent) for the ability to handle Mega Sableye and Dragonite better.

4) Togekiss: Basically does the same thing as Clefable except it has Heal Bell instead of Ice Beam. Also, Nasty Plot allows it to boost it's SpA faster but Calm Mind makes Clefable harder to revenge kill.

5) Sylveon: This one does almost the same thing as Latios and Diancie, however, unlike the other two, it is Choice-locked (not that it matters much when it can 2HKO the entire opponent's team). It also hits the hardest among the three. Unlike Latios, it is not forced out after a nuke but its poor Speed means it is easier to revenge kill. It also handles Mega Sableye and Dragonite better than Latios; however, it has no recovery so it might get worn down easier and isn't able to switch a lot into stuff. As a bonus, it also has Baton Pass for momentum.
