Counter That Pokemon!
What's up CAP friends! For anyone that's seen or participated in a "Counter That Threat!" thread, this is a similar, but simpler version of that project. Your goal is to reply with a counter to the set above you. The opponent will always make the right moves and have perfect prediction, so make sure you post a full counter!

For example, let's say I start off the thread by posting a set for Colossoil. Offler can respond by posting a set for Tomohawk. Offler's Tomohawk counters my Colossoil (YUM), so the next person needs to post a counter to Offler's Tomohawk, and so on. If no one can come up with a counter for a certain threat, I'll reset the game after a few days. In this thread, you can be as creative as you want, just keep in mind that posting a weird/unviable set might be really easy for the next person to counter. All Pokemon currently legal in CAP and OU are fair game (Gen 8 CAP legal Pokemon)!

There are just a few rules

1. A counter is defined as a Pokemon that can switch in and beat the Pokemon it is switching in to.
2. If two people respond to a threat at the same time, the first one to post takes priority. Or, if the first poster doesn't actually counter the threat (YUCK), the first one to post with a real counter takes priority, and their Pokemon becomes the next threat to counter.
3. FOCUS SASH IS BANNED - Hopefully this is self-explanatory; this item gives freedom to many Pokemon to defeat a bunch of mons they wouldn't normally counter. So please don't submit mons with Focus Sash.
4. The ability to win must be greater than 50%, preferably much higher. If your mon relies on hitting multiple Focus Blasts in a row or Zap Cannon or something, it won't be counted.
5. Don't make reservation posts. This is a somewhat fast-paced project, so take the time to make an actual post if you're going to post.
6. Don't post terribly unviable sets for the sake of posting terribly unviable sets. It goes against the spirit of this project, as it requires next to no thought for the next poster to counter the mon, and it doesn't teach us any relevant information about the metagame. I'm completely fine with niche or lesser used mons being used, but not intentional garbage mons (use your judgement).
7. Post calcs if it is not obvious how much damage a move does.
8. If a previous Pokemon was found to be Yuck, either by not acting as a counter or having an illegal set, AND if no more than two Pokemon have been posted since then, we act as if the Yuck Pokemon and any following it were not posted.
It's my hope that this thread will be entertaining for all and foster some potential ideas for teambuilding. Let's get started!

The first Pokemon:

Cawmodore @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Belly Drum
- Acrobatics
- Bullet Punch
- Drain Punch

Corsola-Galar @ Eviolite
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Strength Sap
- Night Shade
- Haze
- Will-O-Wisp

+6 252 Atk Cawmodore Acrobatics (110 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Yamask: 271-321 (83.6 - 99%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
aka a snack

Big body Corsola can switch into Cawm as it Belly Drums and tank a +6 Acrobatics as it heals up with Strength Sap. Providing no crit, it can do this until Wisp is safe and proceed to wall it forever.

Indeedee (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Dazzling Gleam
- Mystical Fire
- Trick

252+ SpA Choice Specs Indeedee Psychic vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Eviolite Corsola-G in Psychic Terrain: 210-247 (64.8 - 76.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Night Shade does zero damage due to Normal-typing, Indeedee comes in and gets burned. Strength Sap heals for less than a 25% after a burn before getting progressively worse as the attack debuffs stack. Due to Indeedee's low attack stat, the debuffs accumulate too quickly for Corsola to stall out Psychic Surge turns.

EDIT: Dynamax doesn't change the matchup as Corsola can't use Max Guard to stall our Psychic Terrain as Indeedee resets it afterwards with its own Dynamax. Similiarly, Indeedee can play around Cursed Body with Dynamax.

EVs: 252 HP / 24 Atk / 232 SpD

If Indeedee Psychics/Max Mindstorms on switch-in
252+ SpA Choice Specs Indeedee Psychic vs. 252 HP / 232+ SpD Assault Vest Centiskorch in Psychic Terrain: 165-195 (40.8 - 48.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Indeedee Psychic vs. 252 HP / 232+ SpD Assault Vest Dynamax Centiskorch in Psychic Terrain: 165-195 (23.1 - 27.3%) -- 59.1% chance to 4HKO
252+ SpA Indeedee Max Mindstorm vs. 252 HP / 232+ SpD Assault Vest Centiskorch in Psychic Terrain: 160-189 (39.6 - 46.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

If Indeedee Tricks on switch-in it allows Centiskorch to Dynamax immediately
252+ SpA Indeedee Psychic vs. 252 HP / 232+ SpD Dynamax Centiskorch in Psychic Terrain: 165-195 (23.1 - 27.3%) -- 59.1% chance to 4HKO
252+ SpA Indeedee Max Mindstorm vs. 252 HP / 232+ SpD Dynamax Centiskorch in Psychic Terrain: 237-279 (33.1 - 39%) -- 99.8% chance to 3HKO

24 Atk Centiskorch Leech Life vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Indeedee: 320-380 (122.6 - 145.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
24 Atk Centiskorch Max Flutterby vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Dynamax Indeedee: 522-614 (100 - 117.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Centiskorch doesn't care about either of Indeedee's coverage moves and no combination of trick/attacks whether specs or dynamax can 2hko Centiskorch as it switches in and Dynamaxes. Max Flutterby will always KO Dynamax Indeedee.

I hope this is allowed! Otherwise I’ll have to choose something else.

24 Atk Centiskorch Knock Off vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Tornadus-Therian: 65-77 (21.6 - 25.6%) -- 1% chance to 4HKO

Against Centiskorch:

かたわれ時 your posted Pokemon is illegal because we're using Pokemon currently legal in Sword and Shield (aka Gen 8 CAP) for this thread. I'll make this rule clearer in the op.
Alright then. Is Crucibelle-Mega allowed BTW?

Nevermind, I still have the counter without it. I think.

24 Atk Centiskorch Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Volkraken: 97-115 (28.3 - 33.6%) -- 0.2% chance to 3HKO

Against Centiskorch:

252+ SpA Choice Specs Volkraken Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 232+ SpD Assault Vest Centiskorch: 320-378 (79.2 - 93.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Volkraken Power Gem vs. 252 HP / 232+ SpD Assault Vest Volcarona: 312-368 (77.2 - 91%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Volkraken 2HKOes with Hydro Pump, while Centiskorch only 3HKOes at best.

48+ Atk Pajantom Phantom Force vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Volkraken: 171-202 (50 - 59%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

after two rounds of leftovers its a guaranteed 2hko, meaning pajantom can survive another hit by using phantom force and proceed to 2hko, assuming it doesn't just max quake immediately, which it would have to do if volkraken set up rain or sun using its max move

on another note have fun switching into perfect mindgames dynamax pajantom :)

Corviknight @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 92 SpD

48+ Atk Pajantom Phantom Force vs. 252 HP / 164 Def Skarmory: 117-138 (29.2 - 34.5%) -- 5.1% chance to 3HKO

Corviknight hard walls Paj and can use it as an opportunity to set up.

Krilowatt @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

0 Atk Corviknight Brave Bird vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Krilowatt: 297-350 (67 - 79%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Against Corviknight:
252 SpA Life Orb Krilowatt Volt Switch vs. 252 HP / 92+ SpD Corviknight: 211-250 (52.7 - 62.5%) -- 98% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Life Orb Krilowatt Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 92+ SpD Corviknight: 88-105 (22 - 26.2%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Life Orb Krilowatt Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 92+ SpD Corviknight: 265-315 (66.2 - 78.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
Corviknight Brave Bird only 6HKOes unboosted, and even at +6 (a ridiculous and impossibly high number) it only 2HKOes. Meanwhile, Krilowatt Thunderbolt 2HKOes. Even if Corviknight keeps Roosting, the damage from Thunderbolt will cause Corviknight to lose anyway.

Ground typing and water absorb shutdown all STAB options. Both EP and Ice Beam 6HKO. A lucky freeze cant even save Krill because of guaranteed Scald thaw.
Knock Off can also take away life orb which makes Ice Beam and EP an 8HKO.
Seis EQ 2HKOs.

This is unfortunately a Yuck set as both Flame Burst and Shore Up didn't make it into Gen 8.

252 Atk Guts Colossoil Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Aegislash-Blade: 786-926 (242.5 - 285.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Colossoil OHKOes Blade form and 2HKOes Shield form without Guts. There are two scenarios for this:
1. Aegislash attacks the turn Colossoil enters. Colossoil tanks the hit, Burn activates and proceeds to OHKO the next turn.
2. Aegislash defends the turn Colossoil enters. Burn activates. Colossoil hits and OHKOes.
3. For whatever reason, if Burn does not activate, then it will go like this:
Aegislash defends the turn Colossoil enters. Colossoil hits but Aegislash survives. Aegislash hits back but Colossoil survives. Colossoil then proceeds to kill the next turn.

Announcement: Jho told me that the earlier Seismitoad set was Yuck due to Knock Off being removed from Seismitoad in Gen 8. I'm going to set the policy for backtracking in this thread as follows: If a previous Pokemon was found to be Yuck, either by not acting as a counter or having an illegal set, AND if no more than two Pokemon have been posted since then, we act as if the Yuck Pokemon and any following it were not posted.

I'm setting the limit to two because I don't want this thread to become a mess and I'm betting that we'll find more examples of overlooked Gen 8 move illegalities as we go on.

Applying this rule to the Seismitoad, we treat Seismitoad as if it was a legal counter because more than two Pokemon have been posted since then.

I'd post a counter to the above Guts Colossoil so that this wasn't just an announcement, but god damn is that thing hard to switch into.

Golisopod @ Sitrus Berry
Adamant Nature
Ability: Emergency Exit
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe

Had to wrack my brains for that Colossoil. Sitrus Berry activating before First Impression allows it to stay in, and +2 Priority First Impression beats Sucker Punch.

252 Atk Life Orb Gyarados Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 60 Def Equilibra: 268-317 (65.6 - 77.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

At +1:
+1 252 Atk Life Orb Gyarados Bounce vs. 252 HP / 60 Def Equilibra: 127-151 (31.1 - 37%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
+1 252 Atk Life Orb Gyarados Waterfall vs. 252 HP / 60 Def Equilibra: 484-569 (118.6 - 139.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+1 252 Atk Life Orb Gyarados Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 60 Def Equilibra: 400-473 (98 - 115.9%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO after Leftovers recovery

Equilibra only 3HKOes with Doom Desire, whereas Gyarados 2HKOes with Waterfall. This is turned into an OHKO after a Dragon Dance. Equilibra uses Doom Desire as Gyarados enters. On the next turn, Equilibra uses Doom Desire or Protect. Gyarados uses Dragon Dance. If Equilibra had used Protect on this turn, the next turn Gyarados uses Waterfall and wins. If Equilibra used Doom Desire, then Equilibra would use Protect on the next turn, so Gyarados can use Dragon Dance again. 1st Doom Desire hits, and Gyarados survives. Gyarados then uses Waterfall and OHKOes.
