Crit Rates in First and Second Gen

I know the whole First and Second Gen sections of the site needs a major revamp, and I actually plan on doing most of it over the next year or so, but noting the critical hit rates of Pokémon on their respective pages would be nice to see, as it is a set stat in RBYGSC.

no its a not a set stat in RBY

RBY crits rates were based on a pokemon's base speed and in GSC the crit rate was changed to always be a flat base rate for all pokemon which it's been ever since.

Would be kinda nice for RBY, but since you can easily calculate it from the base speed and RBY is played by few people it's not a top priority for the programmers. Also, important crit rates can be listed in analyses fairly easily.

Before you do this: What do you plan on doing? Most of those metagames are "frozen" since there are no active players. It would be very hard to test sets for a metagame without enough players to be competitive and diverse.

Which is why I'm not doing so at this moment. I'm currently planning on a major attempt to revive the metagame, by getting new players to play. I plan on doing this, at least in part, by hosting as many tournaments as possible. Problem currently is that I only have a computer with Windows 7, which nbs can't run on.

I'm going to Scotland on a work visa next year. I won't be hanging out with friends after work. I'm going to have a lot of spare time. I plan on dedicating a large chunk of it to reviving competitive RBY at least, perhaps GSC as well.

I completely disagree.

There are fewere than 500 active players, none of them on a server supported by Smogon. Any sets in such a small metagame suffer from an "overmetagame" effect where targeting a few specific teams with one Pokemon has a worthy payoff due to the high chance that you'll play that player. When this happens you don't have a diverse enough metagame to have sets that make sense in a general competitive environment.
