I don’t have a picture, but when I was in Junior High, there was a sighting of an American Alligator in a creek very close to my home. And I lived in California, and Alligators are native to the South of US. They had to kill the poor thing, and the commonly accepted theory was that it was kept as an illegal pet but was released because Alligators make terrible pets and keeping Alligators as pets is illegal in California.
