Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Elsa: she looks generally ok, however her z move is absolutely broken - there is a reason freeze is something that is never guaranteed in the base game. you're gonna need to rework it altogether so it doesnt freeze
Figment: remove the confusion part of his ability and just make it so he blocks the first status move used by an opponent while he is on the field, as that is less uncompetitive and still makes it a fantastic abiltiy
Bill: The original idea you had for his sig (minus the confusion additional) is far better than what it is now. A room that swaps attacking stats makes him very uncompetitive to go against and puts a LOT of pressure on the builder if he is good. Change it back to what it was (the crossed out stuff) just without the confusion additional.
Atsuko: Grand Triskellion is too good and makes mons that would be broken with reliable recovery broken for that reason with how potent it currently is. Reduce the healing significantly, down to 1/8 of the recipient's max HP.
Garfield: Not really a veto, just more so noting here since you worded it weirdly. Basically the zmove will Knock Off any item that can be and then heal him by 1/8th if item removal is successful. I think the Z-Move is actually a bit underpowered as a result, I would make it always restore 1/3 of his HP on use regardless of if any item was removed.
Jubliee: Remove Boomburst. Broken with Galvanize on her and discourages her using her sig move. In compensation, you can increase her Special Attack up to 100 and give her Hyper Voice (if she doesnt have that already).
Ochaco: Zero Gravity seems too good and broken for Ground-weak mons - I'd change it to where it works for the turn of the switch (so on incoming ground moves) and the turn after - so basically Magnet Rise for 2 turns. Aside from that, she seems a bit weak, so I'd increase her Attack stat to 110 and buff Gravity Release to 100 BP.
Bullywug: Given the amount of incredible utility Bullywug has (notably Mortal Spin and Webs), it is a bit too fast. Lower the speed stat by at least 15 points down to 85.
ok vetoes time (thanks to SpyderMarz and Orangesodapop for helping, they are on council as well now alongside me Falchion and master oden)

Kazuma: I'm pretty sure this sig is uncodable, unfortunately. I'd just change it to where he recovers 75% of the damage dealt.
3 days to fix ur stuff. voting starts early if u fix before that
All veto changes have been made for my submissions! Elsa's Z Move now Paralyzes instead of Freezing the target, (Honestly it was the closest I could get to Freeze otherwise) and Bill Cipher and Figment have had the confusion removed from their custom elements.
"Well... my sign-up form got returned... again. Buuuuuuut I can't say I wasn't warned about some of what I put in it. Thank goodness I got all that help from Toph and Shinobu the first time, haha! Okay, lessee what the council had to say about it..."
Atsuko: Grand Triskellion is too good and makes mons that would be broken with reliable recovery broken for that reason with how potent it currently is. Reduce the healing significantly, down to 1/8 of the recipient's max HP.

"Huh? Looks like they sent two application sheets back to me by mistake. Hmm, what's with this other - Oh, ew ew ewwww, it's like something a cat dragged in! Literally! It's all chewed up and it's got cat hair and spit on it, gross! ...Wait. Is this the paper that weird telepathic cat dropped off at Mister Pit's office last week? I think I saw him (the cat) fast asleep on top of that giant pile of empty dishes and bowls earlier today, but hopefully he doesn't mind if I fix up his paperwork real quick and send it back for him!
"So, looking at the build of this... 'Garfield', I think that's his name, right? Well, his stats are a bit on the low side, so maybe his Z-Move could do a smidge more damage - I think 150 Base Power instead of 120 will do nicely - but it's the HP recovery that needs a real do-over. From what I'm reading here, it seems he meant it to heal 1/8th his maximum health by default, and then add any additional healing he'd get by eating an item that's meant to provide it, so like, one-eighth the maximum plus 20 more points if it was an Oran Berry for instance. I feel like it's too weak an attack on its own, though, and having its recovery vary depending on the kind of item that gets... eaten?... just seems like too much of a hassle to keep track of! ...Meh, let's just go with the council's suggestion that it could recover a flat one-third of his maximum HP regardless of the kind of item he's removed, but doesn't recover HP at all if the target doesn't have an item, though it'd still do damage either way. Seems more straightforward... or should I say, lazy? I bet he wouldn't want it any other way!
"Now, back to my own submission... Looks like Toph was right to worry about the Grand Triskellion being too broken! APaidActor wrote here that I should scale its HP recovery down to an eighth of a switch-in's maximum HP instead of a third like I'd stated originally. I can live with that - I bet it'd be way less annoying for the opposing team to work around now, especially 'cuz it'll kick in every single time I switch out! Hmmm, while I'm at it, let's use Shadow Force to represent the Invisibility Spell instead of Acid Armor - the flavor text for the former literally mentions the user disappearing, and since it takes two turns for me to use, there's plenty of other stuff I'd be better off running. That, and the flavor text of Acid Armor causing its user to straight-up melt into liquid is absolutely not my style... No, Sucy's potions DO NOT COUNT! Acid Armor boosting my Defense by two stages would be pretty ridiculous anyway... Oh, I also totally forgot to include Solar Beam in the revised Competitive moves section, too! Might as well add that back in, along with relabeling some of the other moves I'd originally listed as flavor since they're actually pretty viable competitively!"
Changelog:
Atsuko Kagari:
Grand Triskellion: Switch-in recovers 1/3 of their max HP --> 1/8 of their max HP
-Acid Armor, +Shadow Force
Garfield:
Snack Attack:120 BP + Recovers 1/8 his max HP when Knocking Off an item + recovers additional HP if the item was an HP-restoring consumable --> 150 BP + Recovers 1/3 his max HP only on successfully Knocking Off an item
"Alright, that oughta do it! And now to get all this cat hair off of both of these forms, pack 'em up with the right postage, and look for someplace to drop 'em off where the council can find them. There weren't that many changes I made to these applications and those I did make don't seem like much on paper, but I hope they'll make all the difference for each of us!"
"-on? I can't see if it's on - it is?! W-wait, I wasn't ready - aw, heck with it..."
"AAAAAND WE'RE LIVE ONCE AGAIN FROM SMOGON'S PET MODS FORUM! So, first off, like APaidActor said previously, please give a biiiiig, warm welcome to Orangesodapop and SpyderMarz as the newest additions to CCER's mod council! They've done a fantastic job with helpin' out so far, at least from what I've heard, so hopefully they'll continue to be of excellent use should Falchion need it from this point onward. I'd put up an 'APPLAUSE' sign for 'em both but I can't write and you can't really do the clappy-hand thing on a forum thread, so eh, whatever. If ya need help of any kind for CCER-related stuff, just give 'em a call!
"But enough about that - we all know why you're really here. With all the vetoes fixed up and all of our contestants for this slate (hopefully!) ready to roll, it's time for what you've all been waiting for! Here are the nominees for 'Utility and Support':"
"That should be all of 'em, I think! We got a great selection this time around, but then again, Falchion did think that for the last two slates as well. Still, among these twenty-one finalists, there's room for only three! You know the drill, people: list up to five of your top picks in descending order, meaning your first choice'll be at the top and your last at the bottom. Point assignment'll be 3-2-2-1-1 in placement order, same as the first slate, and if you wanna self-vote, make sure you vote for no less than five contestants and put your self-vote in LAST PLACE!"
"You've got exactly 72 hours starting right now to support your favorite supporters, so to say, so be sure to tell us who ya pick the second you get the chance! And to the rest of you, tune in to find out who won and who'll have to go home (...for now) on Tuesday, August 25 at 11:30 AM CST! For now, though... LET THE BATTLE FOR THIS SLATE... BEGIN!"

"Aaaaand... TIME! The voting round for Slate 3 has officially concluded, all ballots have been tallied, and our winners've been decided! Nearly everybody who entered received at least a little support, but in the end... there could be only three. Here are the brand spankin' new admissions to CCER's micrometa as of today!"
"Our first newcomer pretty much slept through the voting round in surprising comfort, maintaining his spot at the tippity top without even trying the whole time despite a few close calls. If not for a last-minute ballot that reshuffled the balance of power beneath his rank, it would've been a landslide win, but we'll get to that in a sec! In the meantime, though, having eaten his way to first place with a whoppin' nine votes, give it up for the lucky contestant whom Falchion has dubbed the 'dark horse' among his submissions... even if he feels more like an unusually heavyset cat than an ostrich-horse to me. Either way... Here comes Garfield!"
"While the fat cat at the head of the pack had it easy for sure, though, the brawl for the remaining two slots was nothing short of brutal, with our second-place finalist barely holdin' out against multiple courageous challengers the whole time! Thanks to an eleventh-hour ballot we picked up just this morning, however, one of 'em swooped in to steal the second-place spot from 'im with hours to spare and eight votes in total. In no small part thanks to me, Lady Shinobu, Falchion once again, and of course viewers like you, our runner-up this slate has more than earned her hard-won and truly magical victory! So raise your wands, one and all, for... Atsuko Kagari from Little Witch Academia!
"But wait, you might be thinking... What happened to the previous second-place finalist, and who was he, anyway?! Well, I'm glad I asked that for you! Turns out, even though Akko did indeed take 'im down a peg, said finalist still fought long and hard enough to claw his way to the finish line anyway. So... What's this?! The ground's shaking, the earth's quaking... There's something comin' this way! Something huge! It's bigger than even Smaug and twice as monstrous, it's been summoned by our other mod council member APaidActor, it's got six votes - AND IT'S HEADED STRAIGHT FOR THIRD PLACE! RUN!! IT'S... ANGUIRUS!!!"
"Amazing... Simply. Amazing! I didn't think the slate for support roles would gimme so much variety in either character suggestions or competitive options, but you as a collective proved me wrong in the best way possible! Congratulations to the three of ya who came out on top, and we look forward to checking out any movesets you'd love to show us! And as I've said before, anyone who didn't win can always try again in any future slate that'll give 'em a chance. And really, don't sweat it if you didn't make it this time - you all did your best, and that's what counts!
"With that, we've reached the end of Slate 3, and I can say with confidence that it's given us the best submissions I've seen yet... in a manner of speaking, anyway. I had way more fun hosting it than I thought I would, too, though it did keep me a liiiiittle too busy with supervising everybody for my liking, so I do need to get back to training for when this pet mod goes live! Oh, that reminds me: I'd like to formally ask on Falchion's behalf if anyone wants to actually code what me and the other slate winners can do, so if any coders are interested in working on CCER, just shoot us a DM either here in this forum or on Discord if you have it. 'Til then, though, seeya in the playtests! Beifong, out."
AND NOW, A WORD FROM OUR SPONSOR:
A/N: A big round of applause goes to everyone who took the time to contribute to the creative process for this pet mod thus far, be it through the staggering variety of creative submissions I've been seeing or by helping with council work, metagame balance, and other mission-critical tasks! As thanks for all your hard work, I made an "official" logo/title for the mod this past weekend and have updated the header post accordingly, and the header posts have also been updated to reflect new updates to the council as well. Both these and the Google Sheet will also be updated sometime today now that the winners for Slate 3 have been decided. Hope you enjoy the new title in the meantime, or at least don't mind the change from the simpler text format of the old one!
I do, however, have a more important announcement as well: I will be on vacation with my family for three weeks starting from this coming Saturday, August 29, meaning my online activity in general will be greatly limited until my tentative return date of Sunday, September 20. For this reason, I will not be able to manage Slate 4 due to having to devote my time to my family as well as my job during this period, and my participation in it will likely be limited to resubmissions exclusively where possible. To this end, I have entrusted council member SpyderMarz to proctor the slate in my stead, though I can still try to be around on the Discord on occasion to provide (or accept) feedback for submissions of interest as needed or wanted. The other council members will hopefully be available to pick up the slack in my partial absence, too, though I'll still keep track of any submissions of yours, new or old, as best I can.
Once again, I couldn't possibly be prouder of you people for all you've done for this micrometa until now. Have fun with the next slate, everyone, and I'll be back on the 20th!
"...EEEEEEEEEEEE!!!" [scooping up Garfield and spinning him around] "I'M SOOOOOO HAPPY! It was such a close match but WE DID IT! WE'RE IN I'M IN WE'RE IN I'M IIIIIIIINNNNNNN!!! YAYYYYYY! Oh, I knew getting my sign-up sheet looked over would pay off!"
HFFF! T-too... T-tight...
"Eep!" *drops Garfield like a brick* "S-sorry!"
You'll live to regret that. But, seriously... I didn't even think I'd get so much support! I only applied because I heard the food was free... You know what, though? I can get used to this... even with the obvious risks.
"No need to worry! You'll always have me around to help - and besides, if the voters picked you in the first place, you've gotta be doin' something right!"
Well, I'll show 'em doing something right! ...after my celebratory lasagna dinner, and maybe a power nap or a dozen.
"Nuh-uh, not so fast - We've both gotta take care of one last, last homework assignment. From what I've heard, Mister Berdly's not gonna be able to kick off the next slate 'til our sample movesets have been turned in!"
Whoever came up with that rule should be dragged out onto the street and shot.
"...now I almost regret having fixed up your registration sheet during the veto stage-"
No, I'm serious. Do we really have to do this? I already put in way more work than necessary for my application and we both got in, so I just wanna skip to partying-
"Garfield, I'm being serious, too! We've gotta make sure we don't end up in the bottom tier once this mod gets playtested! Okay, listen, how 'bout this: if you pitch in to help me out with our movepool tweaks and sample movesets, I'll see if I can feed you the most delicious spaghetti and meatballs you'll ever get to eat. Hopefully my Flavoring Spell will actually work on 'em!"
...Deal.
"Okay, lessee if we can start with the movesets for you - Huh?! Now, where could my Z-Crystal be?"
Oh, so that's what it looked like? No wonder it didn't taste like black licorice!
Why are you blaming me?! You really should've found a safer place to put it!
"It doesn't matter! Those things aren't removable, let alone edible! SPIT IT OUT!!"
Tell me something I don't know!
"Ugh, you little... Look, why don't you just go over there and do what you need to - and think about what you've done, while you're at it - so I can figure out what we can scrape together for three movesets based on each of your abilities without getting distracted?!"
Okay, okay, sheesh! I was gonna do that anyway! Party pooper...
"I heard that!"
*Cough! Cough!* Finally! Ugh, that was... awful. Just. AWFUL. I swear, I am NEVER complaining about my hairballs EVER again!
"I tried to tell you. I don't want that Z-Crystal back anymore, by the way - plus, I think we can agree that you'd get a lot more use out of it than I ever could."
No kidding! I mean, sure, I'd be forced to run Knock Off as my only Dark STAB with this Darkinium-Z here as my item, but it's a competitive classic anyway, so I'd say it's worth it. I'm gonna have to put all the EVs I can into my physical Attack to make this work, though.
"If goin' on the offensive is your plan, you'll need to make sure you actually last long enough to get at least one good hit in! Alright, this'll be the Thick Fat moveset. I'd also recommend putting all the EVs you can into whichever defensive stat you think'll be more helpful - I bet you'll be tanking hits left and right since Speed isn't your strong suit!"
Well, duh! If I can't run away, I'm gonna need all the bulk I can get. I am SO glad for the two extra resistances my belly can afford me - at least the worst that'll happen if I end up facing Smaug is that only my fur would get singed and not all the REST of me!
"To be fair, your STAB won't be able to do much against him, either, and your coverage isnt much better, but any Heavy-Duty Boots he might have on him'll be easy pickings for your Snack Attack! That, and Knock Off can still get rid of 'em even if you've already used up your Z-Move."
Mmmm, I bet those things are made of genuine cowhide...
"Don't get your hopes up."
Speaking of getting physical, I'm guessing Bulk Up is there so I can set up for a possible sweep, allowing Knock Off to hit like a truck even without my Z-Crystal. Maybe I could even try hauling around some Leftovers instead for more consistent healing? That way I can also try my luck with Crunch or Throat Chop for just a smidge of extra power, or maybe Sucker Punch for priority since I can't be bothered to exercise most of the time.
"Shoulda known you'd suggest that. Wouldn't the food start going bad if you left it lying around for too long, though? You'll probably have no choice but to throw it away!"
How do you think I use Gunk Shot? I've made a habit of tossing bad food at Jon and others before, and I guess you could interpret the move as me turning the pies I get hit by on Mondays on my opponents, too. So toss that in as my second STAB attack, will ya? And if you find yourself facing me, prepare to get splutted!
"Eugh. Well, I can't say you didn't warn me..."
By the way, you oughta know that in the rare cases where my opponent resists BOTH of my STAB attacks, I'm not out of options. I'm already considering either Earthquake to counter Optimus or Low Sweep in case of Toph - oh, and if I could Bulk Up enough times, I bet even Anguirus would think twice before risking a Play Rough to his big ugly face!
"Hmmm, Low Sweep might be a bit on the piddly side in terms of raw power, but its Speed drop could still come in handy in a pinch. I'd say your coverage choice'll really depend on who you think you'll be facing! I'd also toss in Slack Off as a possible fourth move since you'd have no recovery if you're in the mood for a Snack Attack, Parting Shot as an escape option if any of your counters come knocking, and your very own infamous Bad Breath to cripple faster threats and buy you more time to set up. Though I kinda have to warn you... Bulk Up is non-negotiable if you wanna sweep, so you'd lose out on your coverage if you pick any status move for your fourth slot, useful or no!"
Big. Fat. Hairy. Deal. Akko, did you know that Poison's strong against Fairy-types like you that resist Dark, and Dark takes out both Ghost-types that can shrug off Poison and Psychic-types that'd threaten it? As of Generation 9, only 38 canon Pokémon can resist attacks from BOTH of those types. I've got this in the bag, thank you very much.
"Well, whatever you say. Just don't come crawling back to me once Optimus sends you packing..."
Autobot, Schmautobot, I'll take my chances!

"So, that's one moveset down and two to go. Now, which of your remaining two abilities do I pick for the next-"
"Oh, no... You haven't had anything since the polls closed, haven't you?!"
Didn't feel like getting anything. The stress of the voting stage took a lot outta me-
"You were in first place the whole time! Ugh, y'know what, I might as well make good on what I owe you for working on these movesets with me. TO THE CAFETERIA!"
"Oh, hey, Akko! Congrats on winning the latest-"
"PIT! CODE ORANGE!"
"AGAIN?!?"
And it won't be the last time.
"AW, COME ON! The last time you were here, you left nothing but the napkin holders!"
Wrong. I left six ice cubes and a Figy Berry.
"For your sake as much as ours, Pit, do not argue with Garfield's appetite."
"*sigh* I guess I've got no other choice, especially since he got first place this past slate. Looks like our food budget is gonna go waaaaay up from now on..."
Could be worse for you, kid. I could be messing around in the kitchen like the Prankster I am.
"Prankster... hmm. Alright, lessee if we can base your next moveset around that. It worked for Sableye, after all, and I bet your stat spread at least isn't too different."
"Oh, moveset discussion, huh? Nice! I was wondering when you'd get to that, but take whatever time you need!"
We figured out one of my movesets already, but we could always use a second opinion. And second helpings in my case.
"He wants one of everything, including and especially the spaghetti and meatball special. Don't forget to include something competitively viable in everything you make, too! (And save me a burger or two while you're at it...) Oh, and feel free to take part in our little chat while you cook, since as Garfield put it, we really could use whatever advice we can get."
"Gotcha. I'll see what I can do!"
So to start us off, Angel Face, is Roar affected by Prankster?
"Actually, yeah, it is! Prankster only increases the priority of status moves by one stage, though, so Roar'd have -5 priority and would likely still go last. Still, I'd say it's a great way to shuffle your enemies around, especially if you've set up Toxic Spikes as well!"
"Yeah, what he said! Though if you wanna shuffle your team around just to shake things up, you could also use Parting Shot, which could also help keep enemy sweepers and especially wallbreakers in check with its offensive stat drops!"
Put that first and Roar second, then. And for my second moveslot, you can't go wrong with either Slack Off or Milk Drink. Snack Attack aside, I'll need a reliable recovery option to fall back (and asleep) on.
"Way ahead of ya! And for your third moveslot... well, I'll just list basically whatever other competitively useful status move you've got. And boy oh boy, there's a lot of 'em!"
"No kidding! Seriously, that cat's got like, a million and one ways to cause trouble! Besides hazard setting with the aforementioned Toxic Spikes, there's also hitting his enemies with the statuses from Toxic, Yawn, or his signature Bad Breath, removing statuses from his allies with Aromatherapy, surprising passive walls with Taunt, distracting attackers with Light Screen, stopping enemy pivots with Block, messing with key opposing moves with Disable and Encore..."
"We get it, we get it! Let's just move onto the fourth moveslot, though, that's probably plenty."
"Right, sorry! So what about that one?"
Easy - just dump every attacking move from my previous moveset in there, toss in Foul Play so I can start hurting people without needing Bulk Up, and call it a day! Sing all the praises you will about Prankster, but I'm not the only one in this meta who can learn Taunt, so I gotta take that into account.
"Good call! Though if you don't think your opponent's gonna Taunt you back, there's no shame in just picking two status moves alongside the pivot and recovery one and risking a hard switch if you have to. It wouldn't surprise me at all if you took the lazy way out!"
"Aaaaaand ta-da! Spaghetti and meatballs with Lum Berry marinara and fresh-grated parmesan, sweet potato-tapioca dumplings filled with Salac Berry preserves, Apicot Berry cobbler with extra whipped cream, Custap Berry pie a la mode, Caesar salad with Shuca Berry dressing, Sitrus Berry-baked Chum Salmonid, and Ganlon Berry and Eldin Ostrich soup. Plenty more where that came from, too!"
Wow, you work fast! No idea how you do it, but I'll leave that question to the experts.
"Oh, I've got my secrets. But anyway, bon appetit! And for any readers who happen to be keeping track, every one of the Berries I mentioned is indeed useful in competitive play, in one way or another."
"T-that's so much food! Are you seriously trying to cure Garfield's Gluttony?!"
[giving Akko her burger] "Well, you did say he wanted one of everything..."
"That was probably not the best choice of words on my part, now that I think of it... Now I'm worried he'll either get sick from eating all of that or hurt his stomach trying!"
[The opposing Garfield used STUFF CHEEKS!]
Oh, please, have you even MET me? *GOBBLE GOBBLE GOBBLE* I learn Stockpile, Swallow, and Stuff Cheeks for a REASON. The former two can work for building up my defenses for long enough to tank a few hits before giving me an instant heal... *CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP* ...and the latter can use up my Berry ahead of time for instant recovery! *MUNCH MUNCH MUNCH* Though as previously noted, Slack Off and Milk Drink are also good standbys for more immediate healing.
"I'll take your word for it, I guess! And while we're at it, let's toss in Endure as well to keep you from going down to a single super-effective hit. Though if you're gonna take advantage of Gluttony, that means you won't be able to hold a Z-Crystal, meaning you won't have access to Snack Attack!"
Not my problem. *CHEW CHEW*Knock Off is useful enough on its own anyway, and since Gluttony will most likely be used for stall shenanigans, I probably won't need to worry about actually HURTING anybody so much as staying alive long enough for them to give up and pick on someone THEIR size.
"I'm guessing that means you can run Crunch, Throat Chop, Sucker Punch, or Foul Play instead of Knock Off, then, if you're not going for your Z-move?"
Wouldn't be opposed to 'em! *SLURP SLURP* I could also do with Gunk Shot if I feel like bullying Akko, or maybe Earthquake to deal with Toph or Optimus. *CRUNCH CRUNCH* Again, you can never be too careful with opponents who can learn Taunt.
"I'll... keep that in mind, probably. And for your fourth moveslot - oh, lemme guess, every status move in the box like with the previous set?"
You know me all too well. *OMNOMNOMNOM* Toss in maxed-out Defense EVs and whatever Nature ups my Defense even further, and I should be good to go!
"That... that's like, three different natures to choose from! Are you sure any of 'em can fit?!"
"Pit, it's a stall set, not a 'beat the stuffing out of anyone trying to steal his lunch' set. Damage-dealing's not gonna matter as much here even with the risk of his opponent Taunting him!"
Took the words right outta my mouth, Akko. *BURP* Also, are you gonna finish the rest of that hamburger?
"YOU ATE IT ALL?! IN ONE SITTING?!"
"Welp, time to pick up my cooking pot again and get ready to serve seconds. And maybe debate with myself about taking down the 'All You Can Eat' sign next to the buffet table while I'm at it..."
You totally should. If only I could sue for false advertising, 'cuz that was NOT all I could eat!
"Well, I guess we're gonna be here for a really long while, so I might as well make the most of my time waiting for Garfield to top up his fuel tank, so to speak. With his movesets done, now it's my turn-"
Whooooaaaaa there, stop the presses and hold your horses! One thing I gotta ask before I fall asleep and forget: What's Solar Beam even doing in the Flame Magic category if it's a Grass-type move? Y'know, one of the types that's weak TO Fire?
"Huh? Oh, right, that! Well, I figured it's basically a blast of pure, concentrated sunlight, and Flame Magic is all about heat. They say the sun is a deadly laser, and lasers tend to burn, so..."
Isn't there plant-based magic in your home series, though? Or at least shouldn't there be? You'd think with your Mega Evo being a Grass-type, you'd have picked up at least a bit of it!
"There is plant magic, yeah, but Diana was the one who mastered it, not me. The Grass typing of my Mega Evolution was for a different reason that's way more spoilery, so if you readers really wanna know, go check out my original submission!"
"Seems like your use of the Grass typing is more on the defensive and supportive side, then. Your Mega's got immunities to Leech Seed, powder and spore moves, and the Effect Spore ability, so you won't have to worry about stuff like Poison Ivy's Leech Seed or Stun Spore! ...not that she'd wanna use the latter, but-"
THE POINT BEING, if Solar Beam is classed as a Flame Magic attack... as is Dazzling Gleam, now that I think of it... shouldn't that go for Energy Ball as well?
"..."
"..."
"...HOW did I not include that in either of the movepools I turned in?! I am sooooooooo stupid! And there were enough Flame Magic spells in the Chamber of Time game that I had both the space and the chance to add it and I totally forgot to do that! AHHHHH! I'm so gonna be stuck in the Never Used tier, I just know it!"
"Akko, use Calm Mind! Listen, I get it, oversights happen! But as long as fixing your mistake doesn't bump you up to Melee Fox tier, it's not the end of this pet mod."
"Wait, so you're saying Energy Ball isn't a buff?!"
"I know the council vetoed giving you Body Press even though you could've used an attacking move that exploits your physical Defense, but you've got it made as it is, so think of Energy Ball as another tool to make use of rather than an upgrade. Seeing as Solar Beam wouldn't be quite as useful outside of Sun teams, along with your only other Grass-type STAB being Giga Drain, you'll definitely need something consistent and reliable for your Mega to spam without needing any harsh sunlight."
Angel Face is right! You gotta get off your butt and go and add Energy Ball to your movepool while there's still time! You just GOTTA!
"I'll be sure to do that once I turn our movesets in, but I'm not moving 'til I finish this hamburger."
"Et voilà! Second helpings of everything for the fat cat, and a Scarlet and Violet TM119 for the little witch. Enjoy!"
Oh, boy! I'm gonna LOVE this place!
"You, uh, go on ahead with that. Can we get back to me now?"
"Have you used Calm Mind yet, at least?"
"Yep, and I'm done with my own meal as well. Gotta say, you're as great at cooking as you are with giving tips for competitive play! And speaking of Calm Mind, Miss Kocho did mention that as my main setup move for my Shiny Rod moveset, so I might as well get on with that one. With Energy Ball, I now have three different options for Grass-type STAB: a simple but reliable spell that can lower my opponent's Special Defense to wear them down faster, a weaker attack that's nonetheless useful for survivability (Giga Drain), and a straight-up 'hydrogen bomb' (Solar Beam) for sun teams that'll give Toph a run for her money and send an already weakened Nino or other Water-types straight down to the 'coughing baby' tier!"
Sheesh, that pretty little stick of yours is no doubt gonna turn you into a scary little sweeper if those dual defenses could give you so much freedom to set up! I'm surprised you're not running Moonblast for your Fairy STAB, though...
"No equivalent to that in canon, I'm afraid. Besides, Dazzling Gleam is solid enough in its own right, and its spread shot effect is a nice bonus, too!"
"CCER is a singles meta, though. But yeah, Dazzling Gleam can be quite nasty with enough Calm Mind boosts, and your signature attack won't be far behind."
"Yeah, but if I have to make a quick escape with either Metamorphie Fociesse or a manual switch, I'll lose all my Calm Mind boosts and have to start building 'em up all over again!"
Big fat hairy deal, you're PLENTY tough enough to work your way back up. I bet even your base form could make Calm Mind work with STAB on Boomburst or Hyper Voice!
"With Boomburst at least, maybe, but my 55 Special Attack is still a bit too wimpy for my liking regardless of how strong my moves themselves are, so I'm gonna have to Mega-Evolve no matter what. Wouldn't be opposed to using it for neutral coverage, though..."
"Yeah, about that... Your list of coverage options is almost as long as Garfield's menu order, so picking just one will probably depend on who you're otherwise most afraid to deal with! Normal aside, there's Fire, Ice, Psychic, Electric, Ghost... I almost added Ground, too, but Earthquake is a physical attack, and you don't get Earth Power last I checked."
"Not like I'd need to use it much anyway, since Steel and Poison are already covered by Fire Blast and Psychic, respectively. Buuuuuut since Fire-types like Smaug might also be a concern, lemme toss in Power Gem as well - it has as much base power as Dazzling Gleam, so I should be able to make it work!"
Wouldn't bet on it given your Mega's weakness to Fire, but you do you. Ooh, also, any status moves we could sneak in?
"Recover, Thunder Wave, and Leech Seed could all come in handy in a few very specific situations, so I don't see why I can't at least consider 'em, but I wouldn't bet on any of those unless I absolutely have to. Unlike you, my typing leaves a lot to be desired defensively, with five weaknesses including a double one despite its six resistances! I dunno about you guys, but I think goin' in without at least a smidge of coverage against any potential counter just isn't worth the risk..."
Atsuko Kagari @ Shiny Rod
Ability: Grand Triskellion or Pastel Veil
Nature: Modest (+SpA, -Atk)
252 SpA/4 SpD/252 Spe
- Calm Mind
- Energy Ball/Giga Drain/Solar Beam
- Dazzling Gleam/Metamorphie Fociesse
- Boomburst/Hyper Voice/Flamethrower/Fire Blast/Ice Beam/Psychic/Thunderbolt/Thunder/Shadow Ball/Power Gem/Recover/Thunder Wave/Leech Seed
"Alright, just one moveset to go! Last, but certainly not least, we're down to the competitive role I applied for in the first place: using my magic to keep all my friends happy and healthy!"
"Good thing you've pretty much optimized yourself for that particular niche, especially with respect to your Mega Evolution! You'll basically be riding or dying on the three-fer of the Grand Triskellion, Metamorphie Fociesse, and Wish, so anyone who takes your place after you switch out will be getting a ton of HP more or less for free!"
"That was what Miss Kocho recommended, too! I'd probably have to tank a few hits to make sure the Wish comes true for my teammate, though. Since both of my defensive stats are equally high, I can simply pick whatever nature I'd like that'd boost whichever stat I feel like, and then put in the EV investments to match!"
"I'm guessing the Shiny Rod would be your item of choice for this set, too, but for a different reason than the last one?"
"You got it! Though if I have to use myself as a human shield, I suppose I could also pack some Leftovers to buy me just enough time to cast my Wish spell properly. And for my ability choice, the Grand Triskellion would of course be my first pick like you said, but there's also a good case for running Pastel Veil prior to Mega-Evolving so I can give the ol' neener-neener to anybody who tries to nail me with Toxic!"
"It's a process, okay?! At least since it's an attacking move, it's not gonna get shut down by Taunts like that!"
Count yourself lucky I hate eating mice. Even so, I could certainly get the drop on your rodent form with a Sucker Punch and screw you over real good, even if you'd resist the hit itself.
"Between that and your STAB Gunk Shot, I am not looking forward to finding out what lasagna feels like."
Not to give myself even more excuses to Sucker Punch you, but a lot of your attacking moves do have secondary effects that could be useful, too. We already covered your signature attack, but there's also Energy Ball and Shadow Ball's Special Defense drop, Flamethrower's burn chance, Giga Drain's HP recovery, Ice Beam's freezing, and Thunderbolt's paralysis, among others. So what's wrong with putting on an Assault Vest and making use of any four among those moves you can think of?
"I'll keep that in mind as long as you don't start hitting me outside of the battlefield, too. Shame Boomburst and Hyper Voice don't have secondary effects themselves, though, but the former can still hit pretty hard even with a Special Attack as low as that of my base form!"
"So, just add all of those in?"
"Yep, and then we can wrap it up by filling the final moveslot with every single viable status move I can learn! I'm definitely spoiled for choice here, so I could always pick two of 'em and not have to worry about a second attacking move too much. Besides, Metamorphie Fociesse already covers for Taunt abusers like Miss Kocho or-"
[The opposing Garfield used BELCH!]
"-GARFIELD!"
My compliments to the chef. For what it's worth, by the way, I'd also fancy myself as good an ALLY for Akko as a potential counter, if she were to run this particular set. The next slate for this pet mod is guaranteed to give this micrometa its first Ghost-type, so if Akko can't get past whomever it may be, I'd be down to do the job for her with my Dark-type STAB. And in exchange, her Grass- and Ice-type coverage - or her Grass STAB with the Shiny Rod - can wipe the floor with Ground-types like Toph who'd otherwise threaten me. Heck, I bet her sweeper set could use Ice Beam to send even Anguirus packing! It also wouldn't hurt for her to have a chat with Carapace if she's so worried about Poison-type threats such as, well, Poison Ivy - or even yours truly once again.
"Shinobu's Knock Off could also come in handy against said Ghost-type, and her Speed would allow her to bring her coverage into play against a lot of your possible counters, so be sure to talk to her about a potential partnership next time you see her, Akko. I'd also recommend Optimus Prime as a teammate since his STAB takes care of two of your biggest type weaknesses repped in the meta so far, and you have answers to Smaug which I'm sure Optimus himself would appreciate. (Quick aside on the topic of him, by the way: 'Till all are one, Peter Cullen, you were an absolute legend.)"
"The Transformers One version who's in this mod has a different voice actor, but I get what you're saying. Thoughts and prayers go to everyone close to Mister Cullen, and I'm sure he'll be truly missed by a lot of people. Such a great voice actor, that man..."
"Anyway, is that it for this set?"
Sounds like it to me! That burp just now was a sign that the tank is full anyway.
"Took you long enough..."
"Can I give these sample sets to you here and now, or should I wait 'til you've cleaned up after all your work in the kitchen?"
"Just leave 'em at the register, and I'll pick 'em up and send 'em all to the mod council when I get the chance. Good luck to you both, and have fun!"
"Whew, now that all that's taken care of... Now you can have your power nap! Sorry I couldn't get you any lasagna, but it wasn't on the menu..."
No hard feelings. I might ask if it could be added in the future, but I'm too tired for it now, so that's something for future Garfield to worry about.
"That, and also the playtests for this pet mod. I hear it's being coded by Orangesodapop and possibly APaidActor as we speak, so we could be seeing the start o' those pretty soon!"
Yeah, you can wake me up when those begin. Although... I did wanna tell you one last thing, but I didn't get the chance until now.
"Huh? What is it?"
[Suddenly hugging Akko's legs like a pillow] You didn't have to fix up my application during the veto phase. Really, you didn't. But the fact that you did so anyway, without anything in it for you... actually means a lot to me. So... thank you.
"Awwww... Y-you're welcome! I-I was gonna apologize for that, but-"
Don't worry. You'll be spared... for now. And I can't believe I didn't notice this before, but the way you care about me despite it not being mutual... kinda reminds me of Jon, in a way. You're a lot like him in general, in fact, just smaller and also a girl.
"Dunno if that's a good thing or not, but... I'll take it as a compliment!"
Personally, I wouldn't mind being a witch's cat for as long as we're here. I'm sure both you and this micrometa would be lucky to have me, and in your case at least, the opposite is true, too. Just don't tell anyone else I said that, and of course, don't forget to feed me whenever you can.
"Alright! I've been meaning to try my hand at pet-sitting anyway, and if we're in this for the long haul, we might as well be in it together!"
Now, that I can get used to.
"With all that being said, though, uh... why do I have this sudden feeling we're being... watched?"
Yeah, um... Not to scare you or anything, but... you did say I could keep the Z-crystal. Mind if I use it real quick?
* Greetings, all of you! It is I, Berdly, here on behalf of SpyderMarz to run this new slate! You all should feel VERY honored that I so graciously decided to take that other, less genius winged boy up on his offer....
* Regardless, I'm obligated to extend my congratulations to the winners of Slate 3! It was quite impressive to see the creativity that was put into those submissions, and you've absolutely earned your place here! That's what Shinobu was saying, anyway.
* Getting back on track, this slate's theme is truly quite simple: filling in the types that are currently missing from the metagame. There will be 4 winners by the end, one for each of the types we still need. You're only allowed 1 submission per type, so you aren't able to just throw 3 Ice types at us. That would be... far too cold for my liking. Now, when the time comes for voting, the process will be very similar to that of Slate 2, where each voter nominates three candidates per category, or type in this specific instance. As always, 1 self vote will be allowed in total!
* I'm sure many of you know this, but for those who don't, here are the 4 types who will each gain a representative this slate!
* So long as your submission has at least one of these 4 missing types, it's fair game for this slate! For this reason, you're encouraged to resubmit something from a previous slate if you'd like. Additionally, you aren't limited to exclusively using the missing types, so an Electric/Flying type is absolutely allowed! In fact, I personally endorse that specific combo! Outside of that, there are absolutely no rules! From offense to defense to support, anything you can come up with is allowed! Of course, as long as it's, somewhat balanced...
* 'But WAIT, oh magnificent Lord Berdly,' I hear you asking, 'what do I do if my submission uses TWO of the missing types? Which category does it go towards?' The answer is... quite simple really! It's.... ahaha...
now I know Lady Shinobu left her notes here somewhere...
* AHA! 'In order to avoid confusion when it comes to situations where 2 missing types are used on the same submission, please specify which type category you'd like to submit a character towards.' Yes, I knew that! Put the type category in the spoiler title! In fact, I had a friend make an example of how to do this. They've left it below, if you'd like to take a look...
Character Name: Berdly-Frozen-Chicken Franchise/Origin: Deltarune (Category: Video Games) Type: Ice/Electric Abilities: Justified, Big Pecks, Refrigerate Stats: 83 / 67 / 82 / 100 / 90 / 88 (Total: 514)
etc.
* Uh... what is this?! What does it mean?!
* Erm... anyways, it's important to note that the submission template has been updated! The section where moves are added has been changed to make coding a bit easier. So from now on, be sure to list all moves a submission has in alphabetical order. Take a look at the OP if you'd like to see the updated version for yourself!
* I believe that covers everything. Soon enough, Electric, Ice, Ghost, and Psychic will have each gained a representative! Starting now, you all will have the next 7 days for your submissions to be posted. This means you have until Saturday, September 5, at 8:00 PM CT to finish. Good luck and have fun...
"Hey, everyone! Violet Parr here, back by nonexistent demand from Slate 1!"
"And this is Hiccup Haddock III on behalf of Toothless from Slate 2..."
"...and Yor Forger, also from Slate 2!"
"Like Falchion said in his recent announcement, he (and Pit by extension) won't be able to proctor this slate due to being with his family for three weeks, which is why Berdly on behalf of SpyderMarz took on the task in their stead."
"With that being said, though, Falchion did have a new submission already prepped for this slate ahead of time, so he'll be submitting that right before his family picks him up for their vacation, and we'll be re-applying to the categories each of us figured we'd fit in!"
"Vi's and Hiccup's resubmissions are unchanged in terms of mechanics, at least for now, because they were already fixed and hopefully balanced enough during the veto stages for their respective slates, but I did make a few alterations to mine after thinking over an interesting comment the mod council made when they reviewed my initial application. Other than that, though, let's just say we all came prepared for this slate..."
"Yeah, what she said! We'll be keeping an eye out for who else decides to send in their own applications, but if you guys wanna send any questions or feedback to Falchion directly, he should still be available on the official Crossover Chaos Discord server every once in a while, though shooting him a DM here on Smogon's forums instead isn't out of the question, either."
"Thank you, readers, for your understanding in advance!"
"And as always..."
"SEE YOU AT THE POLLS!"
RESUBMISSION FROM SLATE 1:
"Good thing we won't stand out. Wouldn't want to attract any unnecessary attention."
"Oooooof courseFalchion would sign me up for the very first sub for this very first slate. Yeah, like that's gonna end well. But anyway, here goes nothing..."
Competitive moves: Agility, Aura Sphere, Baton Pass, Body Press, Brick Break, Bulk Up, Calm Mind, Close Combat, Dazzling Gleam, Discharge, Energy Ball, Focus Blast, Force Blade, Force Field, Foul Play, Helping Hand, Iron Defense, Light Screen, Magnet Bomb, Parabolic Charge, Play Rough, Power Gem, Protect, Psychic, Psyshock, Reflect, Safeguard, Slack Off, Taunt, Thunder, Thunder Punch, Thunder Wave, Volt Switch, Zen Headbutt

Custom Elements:
Force Field (Psychic, Status, 24 PP max) - "I don't think I need to explain this custom move's lore, now, do I? In terms of Pokémon's gameplay mechanics, it's a clone of Baneful Bunker, but instead of poisoning anyone who tries to bust it, the force field will inflict paralysis."
Force Blade (Fighting, Special, 16 PP max, 80 BP, 100% Accuracy, slicing move) - "This Psyshock clone, which deals physical damage, was originally a Fairy-type move in the first draft of my application for this slate, but the council didn't think Fairy would fit my typing in general, so now it's a Fighting-type special move instead since I kinda needed one that wasn't Focus Miss. As for how I'd use it, this would involve throwing a part of my force field as a projectile attack!"
A Supers’ first job is to protect citizens from mayhem—even if some of those citizens are now the ones causing said mayhem! Forced to retreat further into the shadows, Violet uses her new super abilities to defend the people of Metroville from themselves. And if being a super-secret superhero with advanced electromagnetic mastery can help her survive high school as well, then all the better!
Mega Evolution: "Carrying over from the last version of this mod, this outfit of mine is actually from the now sadly defunct mobile game, Disney Mirrorverse! Upon channeling the power of my Star Crystal, which was what the game used to summon alternate versions of so many Disney and Pixar characters including myself, my typing becomes Psychic/Electric, and my Attack, Special Attack, and Speed are all boosted, at the cost of a bit of both Defense and Special Defense. I think it's a fair trade-off! Upon switching costumes, my ability also changes to Filter."
"As the daughter of Robert Parr a.k.a. Mr. Incredible, and Helen Parr a.k.a. Elastigirl, my potential as a superhero admittedly used to be stifled by some pretty intense self-esteem issues, but I'd say Mom and Dad have done a great job helping me become a heroine in my own right. See, I'm able to turn invisible and project indestructible force fields, which lent well to the Psychic typing, but I'm not afraid to throw down with my opponents if push comes to shove, and with Fighting being referred to in Japan as the 'Hero' type, I decided to go with Psychic/Fighting like in the previous version of this mod despite this typing's defensive faults. It just made so much sense to me, though, what with my willingness to fight up close in Incredibles 2, the aforementioned 'Hero' type fitting my being a superhero - that, and pure Psychic would've given me a nasty weakness to Dark (the 'Evil' type in Japan, if you're wondering)! So yeah. Psychic/Fighting. The typing of my Mega Evolution, meanwhile, is based on my Mirrorverse version confirming that my force fields are electromagnetic (and boosting their power besides), and the more offensively oriented stat spread I gave it hopefully reflects that, with along with the Shock status they can inflict in that game!
"The three abilities I picked for my base form are references to the aforementioned superhero bit, my invisibility, and my force fields, respectively, while my stats are about what you'd expect from a fourteen-year-old who can summon virtually unbreakable barriers at will; my Mega getting Filter is a reference to the critical damage reduction and defense buff mechanics in my Mirrorverse self's gameplay. Stats-wise, I feel like a much higher Special Attack than Attack would fit since I don't think I can punch any harder than a regular person, but I've learned to use my force fields offensively, so that should hopefully help - especially with the Mirrorverse suit."
Competitive Info:
"Lemme repeat: my force fields are virtually. Unbreakable. I've got both insane dual defense stats despite my base form's defensive type combination leaving something to be desired, what with its weaknesses to Ghost, Flying, and Fairy. Gotta be careful with those, heh... But yeah, depending on my choice of ability, it'd be, to use the pun, incredibly difficult to take me down without a ton of prediction, hopefully buying me time to make use of support moves like Baton Pass, Safeguard, Imprison, Thunder Wave, Helping Hand, or my signature Force Field as a paralysis spreader, strengthen my barriers even further with Iron Defense or Calm Mind depending on which kinds of attacks I've gotta fend off, or use Slack Off (in true teen fashion!) to give myself more room to breathe. Calm Mind is also useful as a way to bring my mediocre Special Attack up to Parr (...okay, that one hurt even more), so if things get dicey, I can always make use of powerful special STAB attacks like Psyshock, Psychic, Focus Blast, Aura Sphere, and my signature Invisi-Blade to surprise opponents who didn't pay attention to their physical stats - though that last one's small potatoes compared to my absolutely super-duper ridiculousBody Press (by smacking people around with my force field, if you're wondering)! My coverage options, meanwhile, include such fun stuff as Dazzling Gleam, Energy Ball, Shadow Ball, Magnet Bomb (electromagnetism, am I right?), and even Foul Play in case of Ghost-types. While I think I've got what it takes to serve as an offensive tank who can reliably boost herself and trade hits with equally strong opponents, though, I can never be too careful - from what I can tell, I've got no way of dealing with status effects at all, and I have a feeling that anything that either inflicts damage to me over time (like burns or poisoning) or keeps me from moving (y'know, paralysis? Freezing?) is gonna put me in a pretty tight spot.
"Mega-Evolution actually makes me quite a bit weaker defensively, but that's because this other super identity plays more heavily into the aforementioned possibility of being a more active combatant. Trading Fighting for Electric would help with that a great deal, giving me useful STAB on Discharge, Thunder, Thunder Punch, and Parabolic Charge, and my added Speed stat'll also make Volt Switch a useful pick for a tactical retreat - ahem, scouting, along with enabling me to make better use of disruptive status moves like Thunder Wave and Taunt. Since I won't need to hold back so much (I think dressing in black might have something to do with it), my offensive stats are also boosted significantly, the price being a defensive drop and newfound weaknesses to Bug-, Ground- and Dark-types. Whew, thank goodness for Filter! Aside from making the sting of those three types in my face just a little less painful, a much higher Special Attack'll also help me counter each of 'em with Power Gem, Energy Ball, and Aura Sphere, respectively. Perhaps I can also run Agility over Calm Mind, too, since I won't have to stay still so often - and sometimes, hitting first might be the smarter choice than hitting harder. The same flaws as with my standard suit still apply, with momentum-hindering statuses like poisoning and sleep especially being a pretty big issue, though the paralysis immunity is a nice touch at least! All in all, my Mirrorverse self would be more of a jack-of-all-stats than an outright tank, if a bit more on the defensive side of things still, but I hope my vastly improved mobility and attack power will also allow me to proactively disrupt equally formidable opponents - and maybe, just maybe, even make them disappear!"
RESUBMISSIONS FROM SLATE 2:
"The unholy offspring of lightning and death itself. Never engage this dragon. Your only chance: Hide and pray it does not find you."
"Hey, Hiccup here! Did you know that in the previous version of this pet mod, Falchion actually once submitted Smaug himself, and got him in at that? Times were different then, of course, but I find it pretty interesting how this new version of Crossover Chaos Expanded has already given us a different playstyle for the King Under the Mountain, though that of course meant Falchion couldn't resubmit the build he had in mind for him. We offered to repurpose that build just for this slate - and give it a couple of tweaks to fit the current competitive scene, while we were at it!"
Competitive moves: Aerial Ace, Agility, Crunch, Dazzling Gleam, Draco Meteor, Dragon Claw, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Dance, Dragon Rush, Dragon Tail, Electric Terrain, Energy Ball, Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Hurricane, Iron Head, Iron Tail, Nasty Plot, Outrage, Plasma Blast, Play Rough, Roost, Solar Beam, Steel Wing, Supercell Slam, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Thunder Fang, Thunder Wave, Volt Switch, Wild Charge

"GET DOWN!"
[SFX: *HUGE EXPLOSION*]
"This thing never steals food, never shows itself, and... never misses."
Custom elements:
Dragon Rider: "Because I so stupidly cut off Toothless's tail fin in our first movie, he had to depend on me to fly up until the third one - though with the loss of my own foot, I'd consider us even! To reflect our once-forbidden friendship, I came up with an ability for the both of us that's basically a combination of the abilities of Calyrex's steeds with a side of Beast Boost: upon knocking out a target, either my own flaming sword or Toothless' breath weapon gains a boost in power. In other words, either our Attack or our Special Attack will be boosted by one stage for each knocked-out foe, depending on which of the two is higher. This takes stat multipliers into account, allowing us to lean into whichever sweeping style we decide to go with!"
Plasma Blast (Electric, Special, 70 BP, 16 PP) - "Toothless's breath weapon is an Electric-type rather than Fire-type move like most other dragons would have because of its sheer speed and devastating explosive power, more like a lightning bolt than a flamethrower. For this submission, I styled it as a clone of Flower Trick, Meowscarada's signature move, in that it not only always hits, bypassing any need for an accuracy check, but always results in a critical hit. Its power is a bit underwhelming, but a couple of Nasty Plot boosts can turn it into a truly fearsome long-range technique!"
Z-Move: Boltstrike Blitz (Special, Electric, 180 BP, requires Plasma Blast) - "Based on our use of a rapid-fire volley of breath blasts against the giant villainous dragons in both the first and second movies, this Z-move, like its base move, bypasses accuracy checks and always crits, and hits with a lot more power as you might expect. That being said, Toothless's breath weapon does have a limited number of shots, so after this version of the move is used, he'll lose his Electric typing in the same fashion as Double Shock! ...that is, until we switch out and then back in."
Reasoning:
"It'd be hard to talk about this submission without a ton of comparisons to the build for Smaug that Falchion came up with before, so let's give that a run-down first. To keep it... kinda sorta brief, that entry was a Dragon/Fire-type with Steelworker, Levitate, and Berserk as his Hidden Ability, with stats leaning towards a speedy mixed attacker with rather low defenses, high Attack, and slightly higher Special Attack. That submission also had a lot of Steel- and Flying-type moves to go with Smaug's golden armor and his flying ability, respectively, along with some miscellaneous coverage types and moves for dramatic flair; the plan was to make him a hard-hitting mixed attacker with decent (though not great) mixed defenses, five resistances plus a potential Ground immunity with Levitate, but also vulnerability to Stealth Rock and no hazard clear to take care of it without help. Fairly simple stuff! When I looked through the original document to see what I could make use of for Toothless's benefit, though, two particular coverage moves caught my eye: Thunderbolt and Thunder. According to Falchion, this was a reference to Smaug's boast in the Hobbit book that 'the shock of [his] tail is a thunderbolt', which he ended up taking literally for the heck of it, but it wasn't exactly useful coverage since it wasn't super-effective against any of the types he was weak to, and one of those is immune to Electric on top of that.
"Let's just say the moment I learned about Smaug now being a Flying-type, and after recovering from the sheer irony of the greatest dragon in modern fantasy literature not being a Dragon-type himself, I remembered those two coverage options and it all but literally struck me. Simply put, what could possibly go wrong with dolling up the kit that Falchion had originally meant for Smaug - before Orangesodapop gave him a better one - so that Electric attacks were not only usable, but essential? Two of the defensive cores from the first slate are weak to the Electric type, after all, and even more ironic is that Smaug himself is one of them!
"Although this wouldn't be confirmed outright until The Hidden World movie, Toothless actually has the ability to make his own electricity! I know, I was... shocked to find that out, too. From the standpoint of the makers of our movie series of origin, this was likely meant as a thematic extension of his incredible flight speed, but especially the super-scary accuracy of his explosive plasma breath (which I converted into a custom signature move and the Z-move derived from it by extension). All of this led me to make him a Dragon/Electric-type instead of Dragon/Fire because I see him as being more akin to a literal bolt from the blue than a devastating firestorm, though he does carry a bunch of Fire-type coverage options anyway to deal with any Steel-types that might otherwise wall him. On that note, the Steel-type attacks in his competitive movepool are meant to take care of the obvious threat of Fairy-types, but Iron Tail in particular is also a reference to the reason we ended up becoming partners in the first place - when I first tried to capture him, my bolas tore off one of his tailfins, so I had to build a metal prosthetic to help him fly again. This is also what led me to initially replace all the abilities for Falchion's take on Smaug with a single custom ability in Dragon Rider, which I made our Hidden Ability because of how much it can do with the two of us basically fighting as one, though I did have to rework it from its original concept of combining Levitate and Parental Bond (namely, immunity to Ground-types plus attacking twice for each damaging move) with grounding from things like Smack Down or Gravity removing both effects at once... I guess it kinda did too much in hindsight! In keeping with Toothless' flying skills, Levitate is now our normal ability for the sake of simplicity."
Competitive Info:
"Technically speaking, Toothless and I are considered a single 'Pokémon' in the vein of Mega Kangaskhan, except we don't really have or need a Mega Stone and can thus work with other fun stuff like Choice items, Berries, or type-enhancing things such as the Dragon Fang or Magnet. Thanks to our years of working together and understanding each other, we're practically a single mixed setup sweeper (with some bonus potential as a lead or cleaner) in two separate bodies, and with either Dragon Dance or Nasty Plot, we can boost either of our attack stats, especially with Dragon Rider, and make use of a variety of different STAB options: Dragon Rush, Dragon Claw, Draco Meteor, Charge Beam, Thunder, Thunder Fang, Supercell Slam, and Wild Charge, just to name a few! And of course his signature Plasma Blast, just to make sure he doesn't miss with his boosted Special Attack. Coverage options include Fire Blast, Iron Tail, Dazzling Gleam, Play Rough, Energy Ball, and Solar Beam, giving us options against each of the four types the two of us are weak to, although Four Moveslot Syndrome is not fun. I bet Solar Beam at least would be an excellent anti-Ground policy once Sun teams become a thing here in CCER, though with Thunder being useless in those conditions I'd probably have to talk my buddy into running Thunderbolt instead! On the topic of setup, I did mention both of the boosting moves we can use depending on whether I feel we'd be better off going physical or special, but we could also make use of Agility to hopefully outspeed even faster opponents like Smaug after a boost or two, or possibly even slow 'em down with Thunder Wave, but unless we run an offensive boost move as well and sacrifice our coverage attack, Toothless probably wouldn't be able to hit as hard as we'd like, which totally won't come back to bite us in the butt later, nope, not at all. But yeah, I should also mention that our reliance on speed and attack power comes at the cost of both of our defenses, forcing us to rely on our speed alone to avoid getting hit by any hard-hitting attacks that Toothless would be weak to, and if we choose to run Levitate to counter Ground-types that might otherwise stop Toothless' breath weapon cold, we won't be able to get any free boosts from shooting opponents down, meaning we'll have to run setup more often and risk losing out on important coverage. If worse comes to worse, we may have to even run Volt Switch in case we need to get to safety... though the painful cost of losing all our hard-won boosts in the process isn't exactly worth it in my own very humble opinion!
"All the same, I think the two of us are more or less spoiled for choice when it comes to who we can handle so far. Our typing resists all the STAB options for both Smaug and Carapace, and Toothless's own Electric STAB allows him to punish either of them with the right boosts in play. It'd be more of a challenge to take down the former since his greater Speed would force us to run either Dragon Dance or Agility, but with his physical Defense being surprisingly lacking despite his treasure armor, I don't see why we can't go for a physical moveset to exploit that, though Wild Charge being our best physical Electric attack that doesn't carry a nasty drawback is a serious problem. I don't see why we couldn't take the risk with Supercell Slam and hope the potential crash damage doesn't do us in, but with out low defenses and middling HP making Roost unviable as a recovery option, I suppose it'd be too much of a gamble to stick around for the long game anyway. The Tick, for his part, would be an only slightly more even fight in my mind, since his STAB just isn't significant to us from the perspective of type advantages, but the opposite is also true. I suppose he could try his luck with Ice Punch or maybe get rid of all our stat boosts with Circle Throw, but that measly Special Defense of his is practically begging for a Fire Blast to the face, or maybe even a Hurricane if we decide to join a Rain team eventually.
"Alright, that should be more or less it! Let's hope this mod gives the two of us the chance to shine, either now or in the future. Isn't that right, bud? Thought so! Now, let's get out there and show 'em what we've got!"
"I don't need to be at peace. I don't care if I have to bloody my hands. Even if it means living a life that could end at any moment."
"What am I even doing, signing up for such a crazy pet mod as this? Again?! Granted, it was Anya who suggested that I give these auditions another go and not the Shopkeeper, so... well, I suppose I shouldn't let her down. Get it together, Yor, it's just Crossover Chaos Expanded again, how bad could it-WAITAMINUTE, IS THAT SMAUG?!?
"...o-on second thought, m-maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all."

Custom elements:
Assassinate (Ghost, Physical, 90 BP, 24 PP max, 100% accuracy) - "Reliable Ghost-type physical STAB is rare beyond belief, and I'm not sure if I can trust Shadow Claw to hit hard enough even with an Attack Stat as high as mine! So instead, I've decided to make use of my iconic assassin's daggers (and maybe any kitchen knives I've got handy at home, too...) with this Leaf Blade clone, complete with an increased critical hit ratio. Since my weapons can be thrown to the same effect as if I used them up close, this move won't make contact, and it also gets a 50% base power boost from Sharpness in the same way that Leaf Blade does. Oh! And speaking of which..."
"I apologize for the intrusion, but... may I have the honor of taking your life?"
Mega Evolution: "Upon donning my Mega Stone equivalent, which I'm unofficially dubbing the Gown of Thorns, my primary typing becomes changed to Steel, and my ability is replaced with Sharpness. My Attack stat actually wouldn't be buffed that much in my Thorn Princessidentity, but for what it's worth, I'd also be slightly tougher defensively, at least on the physical side. It's my Speed that sees the most improvement, though, allowing me to outrun even Smaug to some degree - hopefully that'd give me the chance to make a tactical retreat before he even tries to burn me down!"
"W-well... I did at least start the process for this audition, and I really don't want to disappoint little Anya by backing out, s-so... let's just hope this goes well, even with the very clear and obvious risk of spontaneous dragon-related combustion! A-anyway... my first thought when I sat down to work on my application for the previous iteration of this mod was actually to just go straight to my Thorn Princess persona and give it a Dark/Steel typing for reasons that should be fairly self-explanatory, but that would've resulted in a playstyle similar to Kingambit but with ridiculous Speed instead of Defense. I think you can guess how bad an idea that would've been! At Falchion's insistence, I settled for making it my equivalent to a Mega Evolution instead, with my domestic persona as the pretend wife of Loid Forger (hence my current surname) being my standard form. With this in mind, the type combination I'd gone with previously was Dark/Normal, since I do still keep my assassin-like mentality even in the safety of home (though I'm not sure if that really is the source of Anya's discomfort like I was once told), and Normal still works as one of the types for my domestic self. Since that'd leave me without the Steel type's immunity to Poison, though, I picked Poison Heal as one of my abilities to make up for that - I do have a poison resistance, after all, which also means I've got a high tolerance for alcohol, though holding my liquor is a different matter. Still, what with both my drinking habit and my occasional use of toxins in my line of work, I also took the time to add a few Poison-type attacks to my movepool to go with Poison Heal. Moxie and Klutz refer respectively to my talent as a professional killer and, from what I've been told, my having only one brain cell... whatever that means. Perhaps that's why, despite all the physical attack power at my disposal, my special stats are absolutely abysmal - my only focus in battle is on my own survival, which part of my client to stab first, or both if it has to come to it, so any know-how needed for magic tricks and such wouldn't matter, right? R-right?!
"The one major change I decided on for this slate specifically, as tough a call as it was to make in light of how much it affected my planned competitive role, was my typing (and that of my custom STAB move besides). Like I said before, the last couple of times I tried to audition for Crossover Chaos Expanded had my types be Dark/Normal and Dark/Steel for my homewife and assassin personas, respectively, but I had to change them to Normal/Ghost and Steel/Ghost this time around for one very important reason: The Tick's Fighting-type STAB. Both of the type combos for my original application were doubly weak to Fighting, so I swapped out the Dark typing for Ghost so I could actually face him and live, though I do still have plenty of Dark-type coverage in case I have to deal with other Ghost-types in the future (assuming I even get in!). There is precedent for Ghost as a secondary type for Pokémon that are very much not dead, with both Decidueye and the Hisuian Zorua line being less, well, that, and more like living users of spooky powers with additional themes of dread, mystery, and the termination of their victims' mortal coils - all of which definitely fit with my line of work! I suppose I could've stuck with the Dark typing after all and done my best to ignore the threat of dying to a single Mach Punch, but like some canonical representatives of the Ghost type, I don't really see myself as being evil despite my choice of career, what with my love of Anya, Loid, and the other friends I've made along the way. Besides... Did you honestly think I became the most lethal woman in all of Ostania by taking any chances?"
Competitive Info:
"Regardless of the changes I had to make to my primary STAB options, my playstyle remains largely the same: swift, precise, and very, very deadly. As a dedicated physical sweeper, with some potential as a cleaner or even wallbreaker on the side, my impressive physical Attack and blinding Speed are backed up by a number of moves with an increased critical hit ratio, with my main STAB option in this regard being Shadow Claw - Poltergeist just didn't seem fitting in my mind. Despite arguably being my best STAB option if I had to stick to canon moves only, though, not only is its base power rather lacking, but it weirdly doesn't get a Sharpness boost, so my best bet STAB-wise would of course be my custom move, Assassinate, which can be considered an upgrade of Shadow Claw specifically with my Thorn Princess self's ability in mind. My Normal STAB moves include Double-Edge, which hits reliably and hard despite inducing recoil, Mega Kick for potentially dealing even more damage despite less consistency, and Body Slam to help spread paralysis (though I'd say my use of it'd take the form of striking the pressure points of my target rather than, you know, actually slamming into them!). While my Normal attacks obviously aren't meant for super-effective damage and my Ghost attacks would ironically be blocked by Normal-types, I do also have a broad range of coverage types to choose from, namely Dark, Steel, Poison, Fighting, Flying (Aerial Aceis named after a sword technique in Japanese!), Psychic (in case of The Tick), Grass (as per my Thorn Princess moniker), and even the Bug-type Fury Cutter and X-Scissor to deal with any future Dark-types that might otherwise counter me. My abilities aren't much compared to all of this - Poison Heal is probably the least useful choice, though to be fair I don't even have any recovery options at all either way - but Moxie with its Attack-boosting effect is arguably my best option, though there's also something to be said for using a combination of Klutz and Trick to slap a harmful or restrictive item such as a Flame Orb or Choice Specs on an unsuspecting client before going in for the kill. Despite being slightly more durable than most other cleaners, though, my special stats still leave a lot to be desired, and I'll have to be especially careful around Dark-type special attacks, with Dark Pulse itself being pretty popular as a special coverage option last I checked. Despite being quick on my feet, or maybe because of it, I'd also need to watch out for momentum-stopping status effects like paralysis or freezing, as well as priority attacks in general - with my below-average defenses at best, I don't think I'd do so well against anyone who could get a good hit in before I could get the chance to strike back.
"As noted above, my identity as the Thorn Princess came very close to being set up as what was basically a speedy Kingambit, and I still owe a lot to the Big Blade Pokémon in terms of playstyle in that form, but now I'd say I'm closer to Blade Form Aegislash with my stats and typing. Upon 'Mega-Evolving' as the meta would call it, I'd obviously be less reliant on the defensive strategies either of those Pokémon are known for, but my terrifying Speed buff and the Sharpness boost to my Assassinations in this 'form' more or less speak for themselves. I purposely avoided giving myself Swords Dance for this reason, and with such a high Attack stat as it is, I arguably wouldn't need it! As oppressive as I could potentially be, though, my nonexistent defensive bulk is not improved even with my Thorn Princess outfit, which ended up getting torn in my very first appearance in my home series - though getting it fixed was how I met Loid for the first time, so perhaps it was a lot luckier that that happened than I thought! Still, my vulnerability to special attacks is only made even worse by my added weaknesses to Ground and especiallyFire... See what I meant when I worried about spontaneous dragon-related combustion?!
"This brings me to my likely odds against the winners of CCER's first slate, which... honestly don't seem that great, now that I think about it! I hinted a lot at Smaug being the target I'd be most afraid of, and between his Fire-type STAB and the typing of my 'Mega', it's unfortunately not too hard to see why - my only hope would arguably be a lucky shot with a Sharpness-boosted Stone Edge, but its imperfect accuracy would make it too risky to bet on against the dragon's Flare Blitz, Fire Blast (if he gets it upon being coded), and possibly Earthquake (and possibly Earth Power) just to be even crueler! The other option would probably be to simply debuff him with Parting Shot and see if I can call in someone else to take care of him, because after all, I am meant for contract killing - ahem, late-game cleaning rather than the early-game frontline action most walling builds would be more comfortable with. Nino... well, I honestly worry for him, what with being thrust into such a dangerous metagame at such a young age, but if I had to confront him in battle, I bet my Fighting coverage would put a serious dent in his Steel-type shell, but with Earthquake or High Horsepower he might still have at least some advantage against my own Steel typing, and had he included Earth Power in his moveset, I might even be forced to surrender to him altogether. Whatever happens, I wish him all the best! And as for The Tick, I had to change my typing specifically so his Fighting STAB wouldn't be a problem, and my Ghost typing in both outfits being immune to that made this a smart decision, but that left me without any options to deal with him from an offensive standpoint, so I made sure to add Aerial Ace and Psycho Cut, both of which I could pull off with my weaponry of choice, just so I had some ways to deal with him properly. That double-weakness to Flying was right there for me to take advantage of, after all! I also have a double-resistance to his U-Turn and Leech Life as the Thorn Princess, so ironically enough, he's now the one I'd have the best chance to dispatch if I ever do finally get accepted into CCE. So... all in all, as frightening as my stat spread and type combination might be on paper, it seems I've got my work cut out for me when it comes to exploiting their potential strengths, especially given just who I'd be hypothetically facing. Fair warning, though: If you're going to take on the Garden's master assassin...
"Now that I have a better idea of what the metagame for this pet mod will be like, along with the competitive roles that already have representation, I feel confident enough to try my luck at applying once again, and without the gameplay restrictions warranted by the slate I originally signed up for, I don't see anything wrong with making a few adjustments to my stats and movepool, personally! One thing I probably should've both mentioned and considered in the first place is that by human standards, I'm not only extremely strong, but ridiculously durable, too - I once got hit by a speeding car and left none the worse for wear! Between this and Sharpness still being the most thematically appropriate choice for my ability as the Thorn Princess, despite being too powerful with the stat spread I had originally, I thus thought it fitting to dock -40 points from the Attack stats for each of my identities, before splitting them evenly between my HP and my physical Defense in both cases. To take things further with my domestic persona in particular, I also added 5 additional points to both of the stats I'd already upgraded at the expense of 10 points of Speed, since Agility might still allow me to hopefully outpace Akko's Mega Evolution or even Shinobu with enough setup before cutting either of them down with an Aerial Ace or two (with apologies in advance to them - it's nothing personal, just business)! Perhaps these defensive buffs might bring my Thorn Princess self a little closer to Optimus Prime's build than originally intended, but my main catalyst for implementing them was in fact one particular aside that APaidActor left on my original sign-up sheet:"
yor: the mega is broken because of sharpness. change the ability cuz like even without sharpness it might be overtuned because of how strong and fast she is (especially since she has parting shot too) with such a fantastic typing. poison heal is a cool idea but she is just way too frail to make it work even with her typing so shed rather just run moxie.
"With my improved durability this time around, I hope I can better switch into attacks I can withstand for resisted or even neutral damage, such as Toph's Earthbending or Earthquake and Garfield's Gunk Shot in my base form, Carapace's Aqua Step, Anguirus' Outrage, or Smaug's Jeweled Squall as the Thorn Princess, and Shinobu's Megahorn in both forms. More importantly, though, this would also make Poison Heal far more viabile prior to 'Mega-Evolution' or even on its own! While entry hazards like Stealth Rock will remain a consistent threat should I get too careless, my base form can still pick up after Garfield or Ivy's Toxic Spikes before anyone who isn't so venom-tolerant could hurt themselves on them. Hmm, perhaps I could even get smashed on a Toxic Orb and enjoy some Leftovers-like recovery the way Gliscor often does... Anyway, with my Attack stat trimmed down to make room for Sharpness as my Thorn Princess ability, I finally felt comfortable with adding Swords Dance to my movepool as well, and since Moxie was always the kind of ability more befitting a setup sweeper than a cleaner, I don't see a problem with leaning into that aspect now that I've brought Sharpness back and made the necessary adjustments to accommodate it. All of these changes to my gameplay mechanics for this resubmission might take me some getting used to, but I'd say they might be exactly what I need to last much longer in sustained combat without sacrificing my literal offensive edge!"

Reasoning:
To anyone suffering from war flashbacks as they read the write-up for this submission, I apologize for nothing. This is a web series which, despite its... notoriously lurid subject matter (no, seriously - I won't be linking or showing anything I'll be citing as reference material for this sub for you readers' mental state, so be advised of that should you decide to look it up anyway), was actually quite dear to my stupid immature teenage heart back in the day, and I figured if it was going to somehow be introduced to this pet mod then I might as well have that happen on my own terms and hope I've played it as work-safe as possible. Anyway, Cro-Marmot's typing could only be Ice/Rock, and you'd need to have eyesight worse than The Mole not to see why. His abilities are a bit less straightforward but in line with how he typically fares in the show itself: Slush Rush is a nod to both his offscreen teleportation and other activity you wouldn't expect of him (see "Sweet Ride" and especially "Snow What? That's What!" - the events of the latter short justify Heavy Slam, Bulldoze, Rock Slide, Ice Shard, Icicle Spear, Icicle Crash, and Ice Hammer) and the fact that he's most at home in icy or snowy environments (as demonstrated in "Wipe Out", which also includes a scene where he freezes seawater - hence, Freeze-Dry and Chilling Water), Heatproof is a reference to the fact that his ice block never seems to melt (which Lifty and Shifty tried to exploit in "Swelter Skelter" with... mixed success, explaining Blizzard and Snowscape), and Sturdy, while mainly there to mitigate his fragility to a certain extent due to his stats being based on those of Mamoswine but with a few tweaks to shift him closer to a glass cannon playstyle, is also a general nod to the fact that, outside of a single unconventional spin-off short, Cro-Marmot is the only character in the entire main cast who hasn't bit the dust even once. I didn't include any custom elements in his movepool because as far as I'm concerned, he doesn't need any; Mamoswine again, along with Aurorus, provided every single one of these moves, and most if not all of them are already excellent choices at least on paper, though I did have to get rid of any voice-, electricity-, and psychic power-based moves that Aurorus can learn due to Cro-Marmot being obviously silent and, for all I know, not psychokinetic. It also helps that several Pokédex entries for both Mamoswine and Amaura describe specimens that have been found encased in ice... just like Cro-Marmot.
Competitive Info:
Few are the type combinations that can be considered truly bad from a competitive standpoint, and even those that have been historically clowned on do have at least a few merits in their own right - it's just that most of these, with Ice/Rock being the most relevant example here, have been represented by builds that are not in the least bit optimal for capitalizing on the strengths of the types in question. Like Toph before him, Cro-Marmot is my attempt at redeeming one such typing, which in this case has virtually no way to take advantage of its deceptive offensive potential as of this writing due to the only two canon Pokémon that have it thus far (the aforementioned Aurorus and Hisuian Avalugg) both being statted up as slow, defensive tanks... notwithstanding the six glaringly obvious weaknesses of the typing itself, including double ones to two of the most commonly used types in competitive play. There's a reason I used Mamoswine as the starting point for his stat distribution instead, though while the Twin Tusk Pokémon is a primarily physical powerhouse that can absolutely decimate unprepared enemy ranks with its STAB Earthquake and Blizzard, on top of either exploiting Snow Cloak's evasion boost for snow teams or switching into incoming fire with ease thanks to Thick Fat, Cro-Marmot trades these strengths for a better Special Attack stat (and a harder-hitting Blizzard by extension) at the cost of his defenses, his HP, and critically, a bit of his Speed. He also has a catastrophically worse defensive typing than Mamoswine's, he has to rely on the less consistent Stone Edge instead of Earthquake for secondary STAB with the latter being used for anti-Steel coverage instead, and two of his abilities make little sense on a mixed wallbreaker with surprisingly poor defensive stats and as many type weaknesses as he has, with even Sturdy lasting him only one or two extra turns at best. Outside of Rest (hopefully with Sleep Talk), he also has no recovery options whatsoever, so should you make the mistake of putting him in front of Optimus or the Tick, you might as well be playing with a team of five. So what, if anything, could possibly save Cro-Marmot from the same gruesome fate that basically every other Tree Friend has met at least once?
Two words: Slush Rush.
For those wondering, Slush Rush doubles the Speed of its user in snow (formerly hail), so if Cro-Marmot can buy himself enough time to set up a Snowscape himself (or, hopefully in the future, get someone else to set it up for him), his 75 Speed will immediately skyrocket to a whopping 150, outspeeding Shinobu, Akko's Mega Evo, or even Smaug (Agility boosts notwithstanding) and allowing him to fire off a Blizzard, Ice Hammer, Icicle Crash, Ice Shard, or Stone Edge to utterly maim any and all of them should he be so inclined. Even Ancient Power can hit fast and hard with enough Calm Mind setup, though Meteor Beam, despite the temptation of its incredible base power, is a two-turn attack that can leave him a sitting duck - erm, rodent if misplayed... to say nothing of what horrors would befall him should he find himself stuck with momentum-stopping statuses such as, say it with me now, paralysis or sleep. Still, in his natural element, there's precious little that can reliably stop him, at least without taking a severe and inexplicable beating from him in return. Coverage-wise, Earthquake has already been mentioned, and High Horsepower, Bulldoze, and Earth Power can likewise cover for Ground-weak counters like Carapace as well, but Steel-type coverage from Heavy Slam and Hard Press along with Trailblaze can also address Rock-types like Toph who could otherwise shatter his ice block with the poor creature still inside. His only answer to Fighting is Zen Headbutt, but its base power is passable enough that as long as the RNG god doesn't work against him, he could still make it work and exploit its flinch chance to stop an incoming attack. He does get a few support moves like Stealth Rock, Protect, Reflect, Safeguard, and the aforementioned Snowscape, but these are more or less irrelevant due to his fragility and slightly worse Speed than Mamoswine outside of Slush Rush or Ice Shard's priority. In short, Cro-Marmot is far from the most adaptable Tree Friend to make use of, and outside of snow he might as well be part of the woefully destructible scenery, but give him the opportunity to show off what he's capable of despite his condition, and he can prove devastatingly effective.
Positive:
Smaug - The "Bully the King Under The Mountain" Club continues to grow. Cro-Marmot is neutral to Smaug's Fire STAB and resistant to Flying, and is ever so slightly faster with Slush Rush in play. After that, well... (Cro-Marmot's 125 Atk + his STAB Stone Edge) × (Smaug's own 4x Rock weakness + his measly 72 Defense) = INSTANT DEATH.
Shinobu - Slush Rush-boosted Speed with snow active enables him to outrun her but only barely, and that's assuming she hasn't used Agility already. STAB Stone Edge is guaranteed to pulverize her should it successfully connect, though, and without any Fighting coverage, she'll have to rely on her Insect Breathing-boosted Smart Strike to even stand a chance against him.
Poison Ivy - Ice- and Ground-weak, Rock-neutral, and can't outpace him with Slush Rush active. She can at least threaten him back with Grass STAB outside of snow, but one well-placed Ice Hammer or Blizzard and she's a goner.
Neutral:
Carapace - Threatens Cro-Marmot with STAB Aqua Step and Heavy Slam along with Aura Sphere and Close Combat, but doesn't appreciate an Earthquake or High Horsepower right in his face. Slush Rush in snow also offers a far more immediate Speed benefit to Cro-Marmot than Carapace's Agility, allowing him to land at least one heavy blow before being forced out.
Toph Beifong - Hits hard with STAB Earthquake, Earthbending, and Steelworker-boosted Metalbending, but has to watch out for his own STAB on Blizzard and Ice Hammer along with Earthquake coverage. As with Shinobu, Slush Rush lets him outspeed her with ease.
Atsuko Kagari - Her Mega Evolution is Ice-weak, but her defenses are high enough to give her just enough time to hit him back with Energy Ball before going down to a second Ice Hammer or Blizzard. Her base form is neutral to almost everything he can throw at her and can either stop him in his tracks with Hypnosis or Thunder Wave, put him on a timer with Toxic, or neutralize his damage output with Will-O-Wisp, but his Heavy Slam can still pancake her with just one or two good hits.
Anguirus - If Garchomp was kept in check by faster Ice-types, that goes double for Anguirus due to Cro-Marmot's Slush Rush buff, but his STAB Earthquake and most of his coverage options can still squash Cro-Marmot like with most other victims of his city-smashing rampages. He can also use Dragon Tail to send Cro-Marmot over the horizon and erase his Calm Mind boosts in the process.
Negative:
The Tick - Neutral to both of Cro-Marmot's STABs and murders him with a single Close Combat. Zen Headbutt is Cro-Marmot's only hope of survival, but the Tick is just too physically durable to be OHKO'd with it, and the move's own 90% accuracy is not a good sign.
Optimus Prime - Transformers: Age of Extinction: The Squeakuel. Fighting STAB reduces Cro-Marmot to chilled salsa, and Optimus himself is neutral to Zen Headbutt, though Cro-Marmot can at least keep him at bay for about a second with Earthquake coverage. Still, if snow isn't active, Cro-Marmot is DOA.
Garfield - Cat versus rodent, guess who wins. Thick Fat allows Garfield to tank Cro-Marmot's Ice STAB and recoup his losses with Slack Off, Bad Breath paralyzes Cro-Marmot even with Slush Rush active, and Earthquake with a Bulk Up boost or two is painful even without STAB.
Pokémon: Medusa Franchise/Origin: Clash Of The Titans Category: Films (Live Action) Type:
Stats: 70/95/65/110/80/125 (535) Abilities: Intimidate / Heatproof Moves: Shadow Ball, Power Gem, Curse, Bitter Malice, Gunk Shot, Strength Sap, Glare, Dark Pulse, Hex, Freezing Glare, Coil, Spirit Shackle, Poltergeist, Stone Edge, Poison Jab, Psychic Fang, Switcheroo, U-Turn Flavour Moves: Ancient Power, Screech, Leer, Rock Tomb, Poison Fang, Mean Look, Leech Life
Reasoning: Medusa is a ghost type because of her sinister and supernatural qualities, and is a rock type because of her ability to petrify things with her eyes. Intimidate is here to represent how her appearance can easily strike fear in others, and heatproof is here because in the movie she lives in like a fiery lava place. Glare, coil, poison fang, and other moves come from her snake traits.
Competitive Overview: Fast special wallbreaker/physical set-up sweeper mon. It has great potential for choice specs sets because of its great speed and access to switcheroo, but also it has a pretty decent attack stat and the move coil, so it can also act as a set-up sweeping mon. Coil's accuracy raise is especially good since it allows moves like Stone Edge, Poltergeist and Gunk Shot to become more accurate. Strength Sap also allows it to get some relable recovery too, strength sap is especially good considering this mons high speed
"Trust me with your entertainment!"- Vincent Whitmann
Vox is casually minding his own business in his office. Velvette is chilling inside too, seemingly with nothing else to do. Suddenly, a holographic message suddenly flies in his face. He takes a closer look at it.
Vox: "You've... been... invited... from: unknown sender... the fuck is this?"
Velvette hears Vox's voice, and wanting to break the relative silence, walks up to Vox's desk.
Velvette: "Hmm, sweetie? You get some new mail?"
Vox: "Something about an invitation to some meeting... or some shit. I have no idea what it is. Considering I don't know who sent this, I'm content to ignore it."
Velvette: "Well, you can't just throw it out like THAT! Maybe there's something important in there! Don't throw it away. Maybe I can read it. Perhaps you might've overlooked something."
Vox clearly isn't in the mood to read some message from someone he doesn't know. But she's right. Maybe there IS something there.
Vox: "Ugh. Fine..."
Vox slides the holographic message over to Velvette. She reads through it multiple times.
A few minutes pass...
Vox: "So, Velvette, was there anything good in there?"
Velvette: "Apparently this is some invitation to some 'Crossover Chaos'. It said something about some form that you need to fill out and return to the sender in order to participate."
He has clearly never heard of this "Crossover Chaos" before.
Vox: "Crossover Chaos? What the fuck is that? And what form are you talking about?"
Velvette: "Apparently it's some sort of competition where you get to meet and compete with other characters from places very much not like ours. It was pretty detailed, and I couldn't be bothered to read through that shit. Bunch of boring bureaucratic bullshit."
Vox: "Ugh. Fine. I can sort through that shit later. But about that form?"
Velvette: "Oh! I took a look - apparently it's just filling out information about yourself. It said something about getting voted on and checking for errors and whatnot, but that's it, really. Also more boring bureaucratic bullshit, but slightly more relevant to you."
Vox: "Right... but then why to me specifically?"
Velvette: "I've got no idea. All I know is that it's for you to fill out and return to... whoever that sender was. Apparently their picture was just some metal bird-looking thingy. I don't know what it was, but it's yours all the same."
Vox lets out a sigh. Of all the bullshit he has to put up with on a daily basis, and now he has a form for some event organized by some guy he doesn't know. And he has no clue where this "Crossover Chaos" is being organized or how he'll get there.
Vox: "Alright. Guess I'll check it out. Maybe it'll be something..."
Velvette gets a notification about something in her domain that she has to tend to.
Velvette: "Welp... looks like I've got something else to attend to. I got it all figured out, like I always do. Ta ta, V!"
She leaves Vox's office. As the door closes behind her, Vox looks at the form one more time.
Vox: "Well! It can't be all that bad, right? Now to sort out whatever the fuck all of this is..."

Ability: Lightning Rod / Electric Surge / Demon Mode
Demon Mode: Not many people know this about me, or the Sinners in Hell (mostly the super powerful ones that we know as Overlords!), but I happen to have access to a Full Demon form! It's not that different from that bird prince from the first time around, or the Princess of Hell herself! Anyways, unlike those two, mine happens to be tied to an ability! That's right, whenever I happen to knock out an opponent, I gain access to my Full Demon form! It's so much stronger, with a drastic increase to my offensive stats and relatively minor but helpful improvements elsewhere! And above all, it's also COOLER!
Reasoning: Well! I'm Vox, the CEO of VoxTek, the greatest company in hell! Obviously, considering I'm sure none of you mortals have been to Hell, I'm sure you have no idea what we do! But you don't need to know that. What you DO need to know, is that I am the greatest, bestest, and brightest that Hell has to offer, and I'll make sure I prove that to you in a heartbeat! First, I should probably explain my typing. Obviously, considering my head is a literal TV and I can manipulate electricity and screens to my heart's desire, I'm sure that's more than enough to prove myself worthy of the Electric typing. After all, technology is the future, and what better way to embrace it than to master the element that runs them all?
And of my Dark typing? Well, I don't think I need to explain that now, do I? Well, I figured I should. After all, none of you have ever seen Hell itself...
Anyways, I'm a Sinner, a human banished to Hell after death. In my case, I used to be a weatherman back on Earth, before I went on a murdering spree at my local TV station, determined to reach the top. It wasn't done in a day, after all - Rome wasn't built in that time either! Anyways, I used this to run a cult - I wanted to bring in a bigger, newer, brighter era of entertainment! And I succeeded! For a second... then that TV fell on my head, and that was the end of that. The water in the room sure didn't help, and it dragged many of my followers to Hell with me.
Oh, to think what could have been! Anyways, since I went to Hell, I've accumulated significant amounts of power and fame, becoming one of Hell's most notorious Overlords, and that's how I got my Dark typing!
But what of my abilities, you may ask? Well, that's simple! Lightning Rod and Electric Surge both arise from my ability to manipulate electricity to my liking! Lightning Rod not only gives me an Electric immunity, it even draws in those moves to target me and give me a Special Attack boost! Kinda reflective of my desire to be the center of attention... anyways! Meanwhile, Electric Surge references my ability to manipulate electricity over a wide area. After all, if I could cause a blackout in the entirety of Pentagram City, there's nothing stopping me from being able to generate enough electricity to supercharge the whole area as well! Demon Mode is, well, Demon Mode. It references my ability to power up and enter my Full Demon mode. Simple enough, isn't it?
Competitive Info: If my offensive stats and my two (useful) abilities didn't give the game away already, here it is: I'm a powerful wallbreaker, first and foremost! My strong Attack stat lets me make the most use out of a dangerous STAB Knock Off, as well as other useful coverage moves such as Superpower and Close Combat. I even have other options such as Poison Jab and Iron Head to tech for Fairies and Sucker Punch to pick off weakened targets! Meanwhile, while my base 95 Special Attack might not seem like much, don't let that fool you! Electric Surge ensures that my Thunderbolts hit dastardly hard, with Dark Pulse serving as reasonably good Dark STAB on that side. They go hand-in-hand with a nice array of other coverage options, such as Flamethrower, Overheat, Focus Blast, and Flash Cannon! Nasty Plot and Volt Switch round out my kit - the former lets me take my merely okay Special Attack and pump it up to threatening levels, while Volt Switch makes for good damage and even better pivoting!
But what about my Full Demon form, you might ask? Well, no worries! While knocking out a target might be a bit harder without Electric Surge boosting my Electric STAB, once I've done that, you really don't want to stare me down! I'm truly the biggest and brightest in this form! My high offensive stats make me a truly dangerous wallbreaker in this form, and while the increase to my bulk is relatively minor, it also makes me harder to take down in one hit. When combined with all of my existing talents, I'm more than ready to bring the opponent to their knees and show them what I'm meant to be!
Now, of course, I don't exist in a vacuum. After all, looking at the other contenders, we've got a lot to stare down! Right off the bat, my Electric STABs ensure that Smaug and Carapace are dead men (or dragons?) walking (flying?), letting me eviscerate them with nary a second thought. Well, maybe not quite for Smaug, since I'm not exactly fast in comparison to him, but we have our ways. Wild Charge isn't great, and neither is Thunder Punch, but I'm sure with Electric Surge that won't be much of an issue. And of The Tick? Well, that's exactly why I have Flamethrower and Overheat - because the one thing that Bugs truly fear, above all else, is Fire! Even if I don't have that, though, I'm sure my Electric Surge-boosted Thunderbolts will finish the job! Opponents like Optimus Prime and his Shift-Gearing super-effective Fighting STAB-wielding ass, as well as Atsuko, Angirius, and Toph, will prove to be more challenging matchups for me. While the former two I can keep at bay with my supercharged Electric STAB (or Flamethrowers/Overheats and Flash Cannons), my lower Special Attack stat ensures that they won't be quite threatened into KO range even with a Choice Specs or Life Orb, and from there they can either use me as setup fodder or threaten me out with an easy OHKO. In Optimus' case, I can't even at least hit him with a Knock Off - that pesky Matrix will block its item removal and Justified will give him an Attack boost with which to force me out with! Meanwhile, for Toph and Angirius, their pesky Ground typings stuff my Electric STAB and give them an easy way to threaten me out with a OHKO. The Earthbender even outspeeds me too! (if I'm not holding a Choice Scarf, anyways; if I am, well, there goes some of my attacking power...) However, I am at least thankful that they can't exactly switch in on my Dark STAB, ESPECIALLY once I'm in my Full Demon form!
In terms of good synergies, look no further than The Tick and Poison Ivy. My Electric STAB lets me clean up any pesky Flying-types that could threaten them. In turn Poison Ivy can clean up some of the Grounds, Grasses, and Fairies that would otherwise stuff my STABs! As for the Tick himself? Well, he's not exactly the smartest, but I'm sure he would make for a nice switch-in for any and all Grounds ready to threaten me with a OHKO! Optimus himself might even make a good partner, what with me being more than capable of cleaning up threats like Smaug for him!
While it might not look like it at first, there's just so much that I can provide to this meta! I can't wait to make it in. And remember, you can trust me with your wallbreaking!
"...We come into this world alone -- and we leave the same way...the time we spend in between...time spent alive, sharing, learning...together...is all that makes life worth living."
Possession | Psychic | Special | 95 BP | ---% accuracy | 10 PP (max 16) | Metronome, Mirror Move, Protect | Does not check Accuracy. Uses the highest of the target's Attack or Special Attack stat to calculate damage.
Reasoning: "Crossover Chaos", huh... Never thought I'd wind up here, much less in the same batch as... whoever that guy with a TV for a head is. I don't know who he is, but he seems like bad, bad news...
Anyways, now I figured I should probably introduce myself. I'm Jean Grey. Back where I'm from, they would call me "Marvel Girl" at certain times in certain continuities. I actually go all the way back to the 1960s, with some of the very first X-Men comics! Anyways... I might have a variety of different interpretations across a variety of continuities (and other mediums, but you don't need to know about that!), but across all of them, I possess strong psionic powers. Most notably, I specialize in telekinesis and telepathy, and I am also quite the empath too! This explains my half-Psychic typing. The Normal typing seems fairly less obvious from the get-go, but this is a reference to my mutant origins. Here in the Marvel continuity, these are humans who happen to possess a special genetic trait that gives them superpowers once they hit puberty! As we are humans first and foremost, I figured this would warrant the part-Normal typing. Beyond my psionic capabilities, I also have a wide array of other powers too (the specifics of which vary from continuity to continuity), hence why I have access to other moves such as Thunderbolt, Mystical Fire, and even Energy Ball.
My abilities further play into my psionic powerset - Telepathy is a fairly run-of-the-mill ability, embodying my Psychic capabilities. Here in the "Pokemon" world, or whatever this place is called, it seems not very useful, and that's because it unfortunately isn't. It just blocks attacks from our allies. Well, it would, if were fighting in a format that had more than one combatant on each side at any time. But here, where it's all 1-on-1, it is woefully useless. My second ability, Analytic, also plays into my powerset, referencing my telepathic abilities. Unlike Telepathy, though, it is actually useful, providing a 30% boost to my attacks should I be the last to move. This meshes well with my high innate Special Attack stat, boosting it even further and making me a tremendously powerful breaker!
Finally, I even come ready with a Signature move! The name's Possession, and at first glance you might think of it to be nothing special. 85 BP, 10 PP (max 16), what even gives? Why would I want it over something like Psychic or Psyshock or even Psychic Noise? Well, first off, unlike all those other moves, it doesn't check accuracy. It's a small perk, but a perk all the same. But the real draw comes from when I'm up against stronger opponents! Using my psionic abilities, I can take control of their minds and even their bodies and can turn their highest offensive stat against them with a big burst of damage or even a flat-out OHKO! It's kind of like some Foul Play... it makes for a nice anti-offense tool that can punish a greedy setup sweeper.
Competitive Info: Similar to that TV head-looking guy, I also seek to focus on wallbreaking, first and foremost. Unlike him, though, who can mix or match which of the Physical-Special offensive spectrum to attack with, I seek to do big Special damage with my STABs and plentiful coverage options. My Psychic STAB can be either Psychic for consistent, no-nonsense damage, Psyshock to bypass those notorious Special walls, or my signature Possession, handy as a cool revenge killing and anti-setup option that turns the opponent's strength against them. Hyper Voice is similarly consistent damage, but seeing as it's just a plain Normal-type move, I can swap it out for one of my other coverage moves, such as Aura Sphere/Focus Blast, Mystical Fire, or Dazzling Gleam/Alluring Voice to hit those pesky Dark- or Steel-types, Shadow Ball to snipe possible Ghost- and other Psychic-types, Thunderbolt for good neutral coverage and to potentially snipe Waters and Flyers, so on, so forth. But beyond this, I also have a nice array of other non-damaging moves that can still prove helpful in a variety of ways. Calm Mind is good setup that can easily turn me into a fearsome sweeper, while moves such as Will-o-Wisp, Encore, or perhaps Thunder Wave and Taunt, can mess with the opponent in ways that aren't just forcing big damage.
Now, to see who I'm up against... I match up quite well into The Tick and Poison Ivy (also from the comics, but this time DC instead of Marvel), whose typings leave them open to my Psychic STAB. Sure, they might have their own ways of pestering me (what with The Tick's super-effective Bug STAB and my weaker Physical defense and Poison Ivy's higher speed letting her get a hit off or two), but neither exactly want to switch into me to start with. I also match up similarly well into Optimus Prime despite his lack of a Psychic weakness, and can even turn his Shift Gear antics against him with Possession weaponizing his high Attack stat. Other threats such as Carapace, or Angirius might either resist my Psychic STAB or otherwise don't fear it, but I can dispose of them with my coverage moves quite easily. On the other hand, opponents such as Garfield or Shinobu I have much to fear from. Both chump my Psychic STAB and while they wouldn't exactly enjoy eating my Normal STAB, they're either bulky enough to withstand a hit, or they can outspeed me before I even get it off. Once they're on the field, I'm kinda sorta left out in the open... suffice to say I'm not exactly physically bulky and they can prey on my defensive failings in weaknesses to Dark and Bug very easily. On that subject, my Psychic typing leaves me weak to Knock Off, so I might also have to be careful with mons that carry the move either for coverage or utility. Even outside of those, my typing lacks any real resistances (outside of a mostly meaningless resistance to Psychic and I suppose a somewhat useful Ghost immunity), so faster physical attackers might be able to take advantage of my poor physical bulk to either OHKO me outright or threaten big damage.
With all of my strengths and weaknesses in mind, I can also pair with others to cover weaknesses too! Optimus Prime and The Tick are actually good partners for me. Both have reasonably high physical bulk with which to absorb attacks headed my way, with the former even able to absorb and punish Knock Off with the combination of his Matrix and Justified's Attack boost. Their more important parts come from their Fighting STAB, which destroys any Steels and Darks that would chump my Psychic STAB. Toph might also be a decent partner, as her Ground coverage does well into Steels and especially Garfield, whose part Poison-typing lets it survive Optimus and Tick's Fighting STAB.
"I don't see anyone from the old days, Bob. Just you. And we're pushing our luck as it is."
Reasoning: Again with the superhero stuff? AND at the eleventh hour? Really? I just wanted to go bowling!
Well, I guess my experiences with Mr. Incredible have proven otherwise, though. This "superhero" business isn't the worst thing out there. After all, if I'm stuck with some mysterious psychic lady, some no-good TV head, or that... undead murderer with a sharp claw as my company, I might as well!
I'm Frozone (or Lucius Best, for anyone who happens to know me when I'm not tending to my superhero duties), and I'm quite chill. I figured there's not much more you need to know about me. My typing is fairly obvious - I'm part Ice because, after all, "Frozone" is not that far removed from "frozen"! That's reflected in my powerset, which focuses all manners of ice manipulation, first and foremost! Sure, I'm definitely a bit limited by the fact that my powers are limited by the moisture in my body and around me, but I'm sure it's not that big of a deal! And of my Fighting typing? Well, that's fairly simple - I seek to fight for the good of all people, evident by how Fighting is super-effective against Dark. Also, I'm fairly strong - stronger than your average human, in fact, even if I'm not all that much durable compared to a standard human. Outside of my typing, my high speed stat is reflective of my enhanced agility, parts of which are backed up by my own ice powers (after all, ice is very slippery for a reason!), but parts of which are also just inherent to my life as a superhero!
Now for my abilities. Slush Rush is emblematic of the fact that in addition to my inherent agility, I also use my ice powers to enhance it further! Obviously, the snow is a great environment for ice, hence why it's on me. And finally, Snow Warning... this one seems less immediately obvious, but my ice powers do allow me to create snow. I guess you could say I'm a bit of a chill guy... corny puns aside, it similarly fits my Ice typing, and this was demonstrated nicely in The Incredibles 2!
Competitive Info: I'm a fast attacker, first and foremost, that, while not exceptionally strong, seeks to utilize my amazing offensive typing and relatively good coverage to hit first and hit hard! Ice/Fighting, while less than stellar defensively, packs a great punch offensively, able to hit a vast amount of threats for at least neutral damage! Base 100 offenses might not seem like much at first, but they enable me to either play as a mighty Special Attacker or a fearsome Physical Attacker especially with my amazing base 125 speed that gets the jump on the vast majority of the other contenders here! Combined with a limited yet somewhat workable coverage pool to cover threats that don't immediately crumble to my STABs, I can be an unpredictable yet hard-hitting offensive threat! U-turn is great pivoting to take advantage of my high speed, while Bulk Up makes me a dangerous lategame sweeper under the right conditions. While Slush Rush isn't much with the lack of a Snow setter and is largely redundant with my already blazing-fast speed tier, the real draw comes from my other ability, Snow Warning! It lets me fire off 100% accurate Blizzards, gives me a 50% defense boost (not that useful with my lack of defenses), and can even enable a good form of support in the form of a fast Aurora Veil with U-turn as reliably pivoting to boot!
Now what of the other contenders so far? Well, right off the bat, I match up very nicely into Angirius, Toph, and Poison Ivy! My blazing high speed puts them all in the dust, and my Ice STAB leaves them cold and cut up! Sure, my lack of bulk might pose some difficulty bringing me in against them, but that's nothing a teammate can't handle! Similarly, Optimus Prime might stuff my Ice STAB, but the mighty leader truly is no match for my Fighting STAB! Sure, his Energon Axe will scare me out at a moment's notice, as will any of his moves after a single Shift Gear, but the threat of a Close Combat or Aura Sphere should be enough to force him out! Not far off from Carapace either, although his high physical bulk might pose a bit of an issue for me... However, it's not all peachy keen for me! The Tick and Smaug both pose their own threats to me, threats that I cannot easily dispatch! My offenses are not THAT high, meaning that my attacks (even Liquidation for Smaug) may come up short against the both of them (without prior chip damage!). This means that they can both live a hit from me and threaten me out with their super-effective STABs, with the bad dragon even able to put my base 130 speed to shame! Garfield is an especially rough matchup too, as his Fighting weakness is neutralized by being part-Poison, and Thick Fat ensures my Ice STAB won't do anything to him. In response, he can neutralize my speed advantage with Bad Breath's Paralysis or put a big dent into me with his attacks. Similar story with Atsuko - my power isn't quite high enough to truly threaten her, and in turn she can threaten me out with her super-effective Fairy STAB!
Finally, in terms of potentially useful synergies, a few that stand out include The Tick and Toph. Both of them really HATE Flying-types, which I deal with quite nicely (even if switching into them might be a different story) and while Toph has her Rock STAB to strike fear into them, my Ice STAB can help out with any Grasses that stuff her Ground STAB and don't take too much damage from her Rock moves either! Similarly, Poison Ivy or even Atsuko with her Mega Evolution can also be effective partners, as their Grass STABs can help threaten out any Waters that might stuff my Ice STAB, while my Fighting STAB in turn cleans up any Steels that they can't deal with on their own.
Anyways, the Ghost typing comes from the fact that Freddy Krueger is an undead killer, first and foremost. In his human life, he was a child killer first and foremost, with a very tumultuous upbringing (to say the least). The details here shall be spared, but he had a bad childhood, and that was what led to his serial-killing antics. Suffice to say, it did not last - while he was caught (and later released on a technicality), he would be later hunted down by the parents of the children he killed, where he is cornered in the boiler room and consequently burned to death. However, his spirit lives on in the dream world, where he stalks the dreams of the surviving children and kills them one by one. His life and continual role in his unlife as a serial killer also fuels the half-Dark typing. Dark is commonly associated with all means of evil and malice, and serial killing is no exception to this.
Sharpness and the many, many, MANY, cutting moves in his moveset come from his signature bladed glove that he uses to kill his victims (both as a human and as the undead killer that he is). Intimidate comes from the fact that he is fueled by the fear of the residents of Springwood, Ohio (the town he terrorizes). Considering his gruesome appearance and serial-killing antics, it was a fitting secondary ability. Beyond this, in the Dream World, he has access to many powers that he otherwise wouldn't have in the real world, explaining some of the other more unusual moves in his arsenal.
Competitive Info:
Freddy Krueger is more of a big, powerful sweeper, first and foremost. With a decent speed stat and high physical Attack stat alongside Sharpness-boosted STABs and coverage (in Sacred Sword, mostly), it's capable of boosting with Swords Dance and sweeping entire teams in the lategame. While its poor bulk makes this hard to do, as is Ghost/Dark's lack of resistances (despite 3 reasonably useful immunities), once it gets it off, it really does get going. Alternatively, should it not want to need a turn going for Swords Dance, it is also capable of being a useful breaker with Choice Band or a revenge killer with Choice Scarf, with its same traits doing good there. Parting Shot is a cool pivoting option for Freddy, as the lack of damage is made up for with a nasty Attack and Special Attack drop, letting it bring a teammate in safely.
Freak Phone | Sound-based moves become Dark-type moves.
Reasoning: Freddie Freaker’s Dark/Ghost typing is evocative of Sableye, both are goblin or gremlin like creatures, and the Freak Phone, whatever it was supposed to be, was certainly shady sounding. Speaking of which, the Freak Phone ability turns sound-based moves into Dark-type moves, further emphasizing its shadiness. Since he originated from a phone line, plenty of sound based moves are included in Freddie’s movepool. 490 BST is in reference to the Freak Phone number (1-900-490-FREAK). Freddie Freaker is quite obscure so that’s the end of this section.
Competitive Info: His main gimmick is a very powerful STAB move in Dark-type Boomburst. Paired with Nasty Plot or a choice item, Freddie serves the role of a special sweeper or wallbreaker. While Boomburst is indeed very powerful, you are definitely grasping at straws for coverage. With STAB Shadow Ball being pretty redundant with Boomburst, and Alluring Voice becoming Dark-type due to your ability, Psychic is the only viable option for coverage. Have fun breaking Garfield or Akko! On a more positive note, you have some neat utility options, with Encore and Taunt for Nasty Plot sets, and Parting Shot and Trick for choice sets. Freddie Freaker is very gimmicky but can seriously dent opponents in the right hands.
“The entire human race will perish from the Earth. Where the monster Ghidorah passes, only flaming ruins are left.”
Pokémon: King Ghidorah
Franchise/Origin: Godzilla
Category: Film (Live-Action)
Gender: Male
Type: Dragon/Electric
Ability: Volt Absorb
Stats: 110/95/90/115/90/100 (600)
Competitive moves: Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse, Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Gravity Beam, Hurricane, Meteor Beam, Recover, Thunder, Volt Switch, Weather Ball
Gravity Beam | Electric | Special | 90 BP | 100% accuracy | 10 (max 16) PP | Lowers the target's Sp. Def stat by 1 stage. This move's power is boosted by 50% when the Gravity status is active.
Reasoning: King Ghidorah is a dragon like creature with electrical properties, so Dragon/Electric typing makes the most sense. Volt Absorb represents his ability to absorb energy from electrical sources and even other monsters. To be honest, this is certainly a mon worthy of a box legendary 680 BST, but that definitely wouldn’t be balanced in this micrometa, so I went for 600. High Sp. Atk showcases King Ghidorah’s power, while a high HP stat and solid defenses represents his durability. He is famous for firing gravity beams from his 3 heads, and the Gravity Beam signature move functions as an Electric-type special Grav Apple, just in case you want to run Gravity for some reason. Hurricane and other Flying-type moves, as well as Weather Ball, reference the strong winds and storms King Ghidorah whips up with his massive wings. Meteor Beam calls back to his extraterrestrial origins, and Recover emphasizes his regenerative properties, being able to recover lost heads and wings at an accelerated rate.
Competitive Info: King Ghidorah is a powerful special wallbreaker. He can run a variety of sets, from 3 attacks + Recover, choice sets, Meteor Beam, and even a set abusing rain. Coverage moves like Fire Blast, Flamethrower, and Hurricane allow you to break past Mega Akko, while everything else gets handled by your STAB moves. Gravity Beam’s Sp. Def dropping effect enhances your wallbreaking capabilities even further. Dragon/Electric typing is also amazing offensively, especially with Fire-type coverage. A bulkier set can be considered as well, due to your nice defenses and access to Recover, although your utility is lacking. There isn’t much else to say really, King Ghidorah is not the most complicated mon, he is a fairly standard special attacker, but he can strike fear into even the most hardened player.
"Young stegosaurus Teggs is the new captain of the DSS Sauropod, a spaceship designed to defend the Jurassic Quadrant from evil, carnivorous dinosaurs looking for their next meal."
Pokémon: Teggs
Franchise/Origin: Astrosaurs
Category: Literature
Weight: 332.4 lbs.
Gender: Male
Type:
(The sole change of this resubmission: STAB for Stone Edge and Headlong Rush destroys many more foes!)
[*]Reasoning: "Howdy there! The name's Captain Teggs Horatio Stegosaur, commander of the DSS Sauropod! You may think that dinosaurs went extinct, but in reality they went up into space and explored the galaxy! As for me, as a Rocky Stegosaurus I'm pretty good natured with the Ground, and I wield several electrical weapons full of Steel courtesy of Iggy, including my signature tail spike! Being a Dinosaur, I can also use some Dragon-type moves. I also LOVE food a lot, so I'm quite the glutton!"
Competitive Info: "I have been called here because an answer to Carapace is needed...my battle plan is to set up with Dragon Dance, Bulk Up, or Calm Mind, optionally using Download's boost, before sweeping the enemy team with powerful Headlong Rushes, Volt Tackles, and Head Smashes, the latter two synergizing well with my Rock Head ability. Both of my STAB moves happen to be two of the weaknesses of a Water/Steel type, and Smaug also goes down easily from my Ground-type moves! However, I have no reliable way to destroy the Tick, as he can defeat me before I get the chance to set up, and using Thunder Wave to deal with him costs me a valuable move slot. I basically need a setup move on hand at all times due to my less than average attacking stats otherwise!"
[*]Reasoning:
The arch nemesis of all regular pizzas everywhere is clearly a Intimidating Dark type, using boxing gloves and Explosive bombs to ruin pizza. He hates hot quality pizzas and is seen freezing them in two of his commercials, one of which involves magic, and in his crossover appearance in Crash Bandicoot: On The Run, he fights using a freeze ray. In another, he's shown summoning wind and rain. But it's safe to say you should avoid him!
Competitive Info:
The Noid is one annoying Pivot who's hard to get rid of! He can either intimidate his enemies to lower their attack, Knock Off their items or Ice Spin their terrain away, force them into an Encore or a Taunt, or hit them with a Refrigerate boosted Fake Out...or even better, Explosion! He can then pivot out using either U-Turn or Parting Shot, making him one very hard critter to catch. He also has Nasty Plot in case you want to run a Special Set on him. However, being an Ice/Dark type, a Fighting-type move will easily shatter him into pieces. He works best against enemies weak to Ice, as well as those who rely on Status moves as part of their gameplan.
"Hmm. It’s so ugly, you could almost feel sorry for it."
Custom elements: Dragon Soul: A custom item that cannot be knocked off or removed. If Malificent is holding this, her Ghost and Fire-type attacks power up by 20%, and she transforms into her Dragon Form. As Dragon Form, Malificent's stats become 115/45/95/120/100/60, and her ability becomes Pressure.
Twisted Vines: 90 BP Special Ghost-type contact move. Removes the target's stat boosts on a successful hit. (Special Spectral Thief, except Malificent does NOT get the removed stat boosts)
[*]Reasoning: "So this is Crossover Chaos Expanded, I see...interesting. It'll be the perfect place for me to wreck my ghostly magic upon...green flames of Fire, thunderbolts, and repulsive vines, alongside the spinning wheel spindle's curse, represented by an eternal nightmare. I'll also curse this land with my hidden dragon form, alongside making the earth cry to my will. And if anyone survives after that, my pet crow Diablo will make short work of them with Drill Peck and Air Slash. After all, I did the same to Princess Aurora...all because, I offered her a gift she bears no will to."
Competitive Info: "You'll come to see that I serve as a jack of all trades, able to fend off attacks and sweep using special moves, including a few rare ones those other ghosts don't usually have. I'm also able to put enemies to sleep with Hypnosis, paralyze them with Thunder Wave, and burn them with Will-O-Wisp. My signature move is like a Special version of Spectral Thief, except it doesn't steal stat boosts, and gives me an additional role of being able to put setup sweepers into their place. My alternative form, while taking up an item slot and reducing my speed, makes up for increasing my defences and the power of my Ghost and Fire moves."
“The magic of friendship doesn’t just exist in Equestria—it’s everywhere if you know where to look.”
Twilight Sparkle
Custom elements: Element of Magic: Nuzzle, but it's a Special Psychic move!
Mega Evolution: Rainbowfied Twilight Sparkle
Mega Stone Name: Twilite
Mega Evolution Type:
Mega Evolution Stats: 75/105/120/135/120/75 (630)
Mega Evolution Ability: Lightning Rod
[*]Reasoning: "Hiiiiiiiiii! My name's Twilight Sparkle, and I'm Princess Celestia's most gifted student, and the princess of friendship herself! I've studied all my life to learn the magic of friendship, buuuuuuuuuuuuuut the closest thing to magic in this game is Psychic, so I guess I'll have to go with that. I ain't a clairovoyant you know, not since I travelled back in time...twice! As an Alicorn, I have access to horn-related attacks and flying-type ones from my wings, friendship is usually associated with fairies here, so Levitate exists as a counterpart to it here....at least in my regular form. I can also raise the sun and moon to perform Morning Sun and Moonlight, and I've learned quite the arsenal during my time in Ponyville, including Dark, Ghostly magic and Power Gems. Also, some people say I have an awful temper, especially when my friends do something stupid...or rather, I do something stupid. Eh, they're just assuming things...riiiight?"
Competitive Info: "Well, if Angirius here is furifilling a similar role to that of Garchomp's, then I can go for a similar role to that of Hattrene's! I can set up with Calm Mind for a clean sweep, utilize Pain Split or Healing Wish for support, or set up Trick Room to slow fast enemies down, alongside having a STAB Psychic-type Nuzzle! My Mega Evolution gives me a bit more bulk and gives me a Flying typing to replace my own fairy one, which lets me avoid Ground attacks like a boss, and it comes with an immunity to electricity, buuuuuuuut it gets rid of Magic Bounce in the process....I don't do well against Dark types like Garfield and Shinobu, but for everyone else I'm fair game!"
"It is I, the 4th-dimensional Ziltoid the Omniscient!"
Pokémon: Ziltoid Franchise/Origin: Ziltoid the Omniscient (Devin Townsend album) Category: Music Type: Psychic/Electric Ability: Forewarn / Analytic / Moxie Stats: 99/119/69/109/99/99 | 594 BST Competitive moves: Boomburst, Calm Mind, Flash Cannon, Future Sight, Heal Order, Hidden Power, Hot Cup of Coffee, Overdrive, Psychic, Psychic Noise, Psyshock, Signal Beam, Snarl, Sucker Punch, Taunt, Toxic, Trick, U-turn, Wild Charge, Zen Headbutt Flavor moves: Hot Cup of Coffee I couldn't resist. Real list below.
Attack Order, Attract, Captivate, Confide, Confusion, Defend Order, Detect, Double Team, Endure, Expanding Force, Facade, Frustration, Giga Impact, Helping Hand, Hyper Beam, Metal Sound, Natural Gift, Protect, Psybeam, Rest, Return, Round, Screech, Secret Power, Sleep Talk, Snore, Substitute, Swagger, Take Down, Tera Blast, Thief, Uproar Custom elements: Hot Cup of Coffee - Water, Status, 5 PP | Priority -3. User regains 50% HP. If the user is damaged by a contact move before this move is executed, then the attacker is burned. (Basically a hybrid between Recover and Beak Blast)
Reasoning:
"Ah, this takes me back. Last time I was in a thread like this, I ended up in a three-way tie between that red-haired kid and some blonde-haired lunatic. That fire dragon from last slate looks familiar too. Anyway, about two decades ago, this one guitar nerd named Devin Townsend published a rock opera named after me. Hailing from the planet Ziltoidia 9, I invaded the known universe in search of the ultimate cup of coffee. You could say that I'm an alien, much like Beheeyem, which is the source of my Psychic typing and a good chunk of my movepool. The omniscient part of my moniker, certainly no joke, is represented in Forewarn and Detect. Being hailed as the ultimate 4th dimensional guitar hero, as on the track 'Solar Winds', is the reason for Electric typing, Overdrive and other sound-based moves. The same narration called me a nerd, and Analytic is my way of owning it. It also mentioned my confidence, which Moxie represents. You might think it's weird for a so-called nerd to have higher Attack than Special Attack, but isn't it more fun that way? Incidentally, Wild Charge is in common with Toxtricity, the original Overdrive user. Moving on, I have no shortage of military might, hence the Order moves. As narrated in 'Hyperdrive', I arrived at Nebulo Nine unbeknownst to the humans like, 'Haha! Surprise!' You could call it a surprise attack, or perhaps...a Sucker Punch? Pff, localization. Calm Mind comes from the 'Planet Smasher' lyrics, 'Cherish the mind / Cover your mind / Cherish your mental sanctum.' Rock Band Network for Rock Band 2 had a special version of Ziltoid the Omniscient where I would Taunt the players into convincing me that the game is not a waste of time. Lastly, the source of Thief and U-turn is the 2014 sequel album Z², specifically the track 'Ziltoidian Empire', where I was in and out like the wind! ...while abducting a Poozer."
Competitive Info:
"With Calm Mind being as obligatory as it is, I function best as a special Sweeper. If you give me a Choice item, I could act as a Wallbreaker or a Cleaner, which may or may not include leveraging Moxie. Psychic + Electric is not great offensive coverage in a vacuum, but it is problematic for all three of the current walls. It is nice to have Bug coverage on both sides, in case I have to deal with any Dark-types, although I don't have much else other than Sucker Punch and Hidden Power."
NEW SUBMISSION:
Frost giants use these evil creatures as guards and hunting companions, putting the wolves' deadly breath weapon to use against their foes.
Reasoning:
This creature can speak Common, but only to follow simple conversations, i.e. probably not well enough to explain an application like this. It attacks by biting and can camouflage in the snow. It is weak to fire in 3.5e, but not in 5e. It has existed since Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 1st edition, from 1977-1988, meaning that it gets Gen 1 universal moves. Freezing Bite is represented as Ice Fang. Trip, Low Kick and Low Sweep. Cold Breath, Frost Breath and other Ice-type moves. Its Stealth proficiency in 5e and +7 Move Silently modifier in 3.5e are the basis for Sucker Punch.
Competitive Info:
What better way to represent mono-Ice than with a glass cannon?
On the physical side, it has 97.5 BP (before STAB) Ice Fang, 120 BP Crunch, good coverage in Low Kick, and some priority options. It can leverage Curse with a White Herb for some semblance of sweeping potential.
While its Special Attack is higher, it lacks any kind of setup option on that side, not to mention its entire special coverage is Frost Breath, Hidden Power, and Tera Blast. That said, with 252/4/252 Naive, Frost Breath deals slightly more damage than Ice Fang with Strong Jaw.
Aside from its primary role as a cleaner, it can spread Toxic if it chooses to.
NEW SUBMISSION:
"AaAaAaAaAaAaA! Hi, Wonder Mike! I'm Homsar! The captain of the gravy train."
"Homsar generally only talks in word salads. Allow me to handle the explanations. He's not the brightest bulb on the Decemberween decorations, yet he defies the laws of physics by means such as floating and warping the space around him. His bowler hat also floats around, which may be a result of psychokinesis. Still, rather than floating to move around, he uses a strange kind of waddle that he has also passed off as a dance. Having debuted in 2001 gives him Gen 2 universal moves. He spews out bubbles on his special homepage, he is capable of teleportation, he can sound like a crowd just by opening his mouth, he can supposedly deflect the jibblies, and he can sound like a bell while being hit on the head. Not to mention he can't die by getting squished, stung by scorpions, dropped off a cliff, or hypothermia. He has a thing for tree hugging and once tried to get me into it. Later on, he took on my exact appearance, which made Coach Z think I was still there after he shoved me away. The Homsar Reservation consists partly of rocks that float around. I've heard from Strong Bad that Homsar was taught by some Uncle Chet about some kind of summoning song where he lets energy build by wailing strongly enough to cause tremors in the nearby surroundings."
Competitive Info:
"Optimus Prime with Shift Gear needs an Adamant Nature, 120-BP Heavy Slam boosted by Matrix of Leadership, and hazard support for any chance at a 2HKO, which would be improved by Leftovers removal and some kind of residual damage. In return, Earth Power is a guaranteed 3HKO. In more general situations, Psychic Noise prevents walls not named Garfield from recovering, he could attempt to set up with Calm Mind, or he could spread Psychic Terrain to block priority for offensively oriented teammates. Heal Bell, Toxic, and Stealth Rock make for decent support options as well. He could also set up Trick Room, but I don't envision anyone but Anguirus making good use of it. The main problem is that pure Psychic typing makes him prone to Knock Off and U-turn."
"DAaAAaaAAaaAAaa! I was raised by a cup of coffee."
"But is it the ultimate cup of coffee?"
"AaAaAaAaAaAaA! This monster man is too close for Frankfurt."
RESUBMISSION FROM SLATE 3:
"In the past, I always believed I did not deserve forgiveness and treated pain and suffering as a kind of punishment, but...in the end, that was relying on others too."
Reasoning:
"While I am the representative of the Brynhildr Class, I have nothing to add to Kili's and Ariella's explanations about dark matter and Ds, the latter on behalf of Ren. Ghost typing comes from my ability to channel antimatter, which Giratina represents. My fictional armament is a bow called Brionac, hence Spirit Shackle and Snipe Shot alongside signature moves and every non-hammer move in common with Ren. Being the resident bow wielder, it goes without saying that I play the role of a Sniper in combat."
Competitive Info:
"Between the versatility of dark matter and this stat spread partly derived from Venusaur and Meganium, you could say that I have mixed utility. Heal Bell and Defog are my defensive tools, and I have loads on the offensive side. I see that hazard stacking is nothing new, but I can spread any of the main three status conditions using Thunder Wave, Toxic, or Will-O-Wisp. I also have less direct means of status spreading in Sludge Bomb, Scald, and Scorching Sands. Then there's dual screens and an item removal option in Corrosive Gas, although I'd need an Eject Pack with Draco Meteor or Leaf Storm for any kind of pivoting. Lastly, trapping with Spirit Shackle and stat reduction with Acid Spray or Haze are miscellaneous options to consider. On the flip side, my Attack should be low enough for even effectively 135 BP Dragon STAB and a 225 BP Ghost-type Z-Move to not overwhelm the current roster, not to mention I can't deal much special damage without Acid Spray."
Base stats: 80/72/100/83/90/100 ==> 82/80/100/100/80/83
"I wouldn't say that utility was ever my specialty to begin with. It is more in Ariella's wheelhouse, but she would be Dragon/Fighting with a Dragon/Dark form."
"Yeah, with two Fighting-types from the first two slates, my martial arts are not needed."
"So, now that I'm not slated for utility, I moved some Speed and Special Defense to increase my attack power. It should be a reasonable move, all the more with Atsuko-san being immune to both Forked Wind and Last Quark, and it is appropriate for a bow wielder like me."
Character Name: Caine Franchise/Origin: The Amazing Digital Circus (Category: Western Animation) Type: Electric/Psychic Ability: The Ringmaster Stats: 96 / 79 / 96 / 119 / 55 / 115 (Total: 560)
"You, my friend, have stumbled into an incredible world of wonders, where anything can happen!" Signature Ability: The Ringmaster
- Effects: Sets Psychic Terrain for 5 turns on switch-in. Additionally, this character is Levitating at all times, but is still able to be affected by Terrain.
"I'M GONNA PUT YOU FREAKS IN YOUR PLACE!" Signature Move: Digital Torment
- Type: Electric
- Classification: Special
- Power: 70
- Accuracy: 100%
- PP: 10/16
- Effects: Under Psychic Terrain, this move's BP is 100. If the user is below 1/3 HP, this move Paralyzes the target, unless they are Electric type.
- Flavor: The user creates a virtual experience, then forces the target through it. The amount of pain and stress the simulation inflicts is relative to how the user is treated by the target.
Flavor Reasoning:
“Welcome, one and all, to my all-new submission, which is actually near exactly the same as before with extremely slight and minute differences! My name is Caine, the ringmaster/creator/all-powerful deity of the Amazing Digital Circus! Emphasis on the ‘digital’ there… my status as an AI is what gets me the Electric type. As for Psychic… that’s the type representing the mind, so I can get that due to how human minds are transported to my circus… Anyways let’s talk about something else! Like how I have near limitless power over every aspect of my digital home. This is represented through my ability, which essentially lets me have almost that same amount of power- as long as I’m in my own realm/terrain, of course!”
“I’ve got an ensemble of NPCs that explain a few of my moves, such as Bubble, and the Sun and Moon! I… hope I don’t need to point out which moves those guys justify. A lot of my status moves reflect my absolute control over the battlefield and everything in it. Such moves include screens, weathers, terrains, Trick Room, Wonder Room, Magic Room, and even Disable, Switcheroo, and Taunt! Lastly, biting moves are… well just look at me! Of course I have biting moves!”
Competitive Reasoning:
“Tonight, we've got a rerun of my Slate 2 appearance as a Cleaner, alongside some adjustments to my stats! Few would-be tanks resist both Electric and Psychic, and even if they do, I’ve got Water and Fairy coverage as well! The key for me to do my best work? It’s all about timing. If I switch in to a Special attack that's even neutral against me, I'm probably toast! Psychic Terrain adds another layer of complexity to when I can come in, since if it gets shut off by the opponent, I'm considerably weaker. As a bonus though. having it up also stops opposing priority moves, so I’ll be moving first pretty consistently. "
“Besides, it’s not like I’m… completely powerless outside of my ability. Push me around enough, and I can still show the other team who’s really in charge with Digital Torment. They'll be too stunned to know what hit them... Have I mentioned my solid status movepool? If it fits the team, I can branch out and use Screens, Weathers, Taunt, Thunder Wave, Encore, Disable… even manually reset Psychic Terrain if it ends! Pair those moves with my above average speed, and I can function quite well as a lead or even a supportive role!”
“Well, would you look at that! My dual STAB is perfectly set up to take care of the 3 walls from Slate 1. As for the assortment of other characters who've come in since then, things get a bit more complicated! Poison Ivy's manageable, sure, but Shinobu? Garfield? Whatever Ghost type that gets in this slate? I might have a hard time getting anything done with them around. But hey, at least I'm safe from Toph and Anguirus' Ground attacks!"
“In case you didn’t want to read all that text, here’s the short version. I’m a cleaner who can come in to reset my terrain whenever it's necessary, and I'll either feast or famine depending on how well positioned I am when the time comes to clear away what's left of the other team. However, my... emotional frailty means that if I slip up even once and get caught by a hard-hitting attack, I'm done for! But that won't happen, right?”
“…right?…”

Flavor Reasoning:
"I'm back, everyone! Last time sure was close, but I fell out of the running near the end. That's no problem, though! It just means I had to come back and try a second time! But... I could have done without filling out all the paperwork again..."
"In case you missed it the first time... I'm Ochaco, but you may know me as the Antigravity Hero: Uravity! My Quirk, Zero Gravity, lets me remove the effect of gravity from things I touch. That's a pretty solid case for the Flying type, but as for Psychic... moves like Gravity or Telekinesis fit what my powers do as well!"
"Speaking of, Aerilate fits for a similar reason. Since I'm able to apply my Quirk to objects and other people, it makes sense that I'd be able to apply it to my Normal-type attacks, right? Rocky Payload might seem a little less obvious at first, but it represents something I've done with my powers a lot: lifting and throwing large pieces of debris! I've used rocks and other heavy objects as weapons, so having an Ability that makes Rock-type attacks more powerful feels like a good way to represent that."
"Let's get into these moves... a lot of which draw from being up high, like Gravity Release, Bounce, and High Jump Kick. The rest of my Fighting type attack represent my Gunhead Martial Arts technique, a close-range, grappling combat style I learned. I wanted to make sure I could fight without relying completely on Zero Gravity. Oh, and Psyshield Bash fits because it combines that physical combat with my Psychic typing."
"Then we have my Rock-type moves, which are some of the clearest representations of me lifting debris and smacking opponents with it! It also justifies my hazards, Mat Block, and Hard Press. Power Whip and Anchor Shot represent the gauntlets on my suit, which I had upgraded with grappling hooks, to... mimic a certain someone..."
"ANYWAYS, the status moves are where my Quirk really shows up. Gravity, Telekinesis, Zero Gravity, and Ally Switch should all be self-explanatory. Octolock is another perfect representation of G.M.A. and Amnesia's there since I can be just a little bit of an airhead.
Tidy Up is also a fun one, since cleaning up the battlefield—or getting rid of hazards—feels like something my Quirk could help with."
"Overall, I think my movepool represents two important sides of how I fight: I can use Zero Gravity creatively to control the battlefield, but I've also trained myself so I can fight up close when my Quirk alone isn't enough."
Competitive Reasoning:
"Okay! Now for the harder part: how would I actually use all of this in a battle?"
"With my stats in mind, I think my strongest role would be as versatile utility user with solid offensive potential and a relatively slow pivot I can use to safely bring in teammates. I can take special attacks pretty well, which lets me sit comfortably in front of characters like Poison Ivy. My typing is really useful for that 'pivoting in and out' strategy. Being immune to Ground-type attacks is good protection for Ground-weak teammates of mine, since opponents will need to think twice before using those attacks."
"Though, my pivoting gimmick isn't just for my side, you know! Circle Throw is here to forcefully get rid of enemies! Yawn could also force switches, which is especially useful after I've set up Stealth Rock or Spikes. Now that I think about it, that's a pretty sneaky strategy..."
"Another possibility would be to lean into offense while still supporting the team and setting them up for success later. Knock Off might have the best side effect you could ask for, and Fighting, Grass, and Steel coverage doesn't hurt either. Though with 95 Attack, I'm definitely no wallbreaker, but I don't think I need to be. Rocky Payload gives my Rock-type attacks a sizable boost, and my movepool gives me lots of ways to hit different opponents. Pair that with Tidy Up and I think being too passive shouldn't be an issue!"
"Lastly, I could focus on controlling the battlefield with my Quirk. That would make me less focused on attacking and more focused on limiting the things the other team can do. I can set hazards, cripple enemies with Knock Off, trap 'em with Anchor Shot, and potentially use Tidy Up if I need to remove hazards from my own side. Gravity Release, my signature move, is a clone of Sky Drop, so I can use it to stall out turns, which is useful when trying to wait out opposing weathers, screens, and stuff like that! My biggest weaknesses... are probably my lack of reliable recovery, and my middling physical Defense and Speed. If a really powerful physical attacker gets in safely, I could be in trouble."
"That's why I think I should focus on my unpredictability. I can get in and out before opponents can react, setting a teammate up for success in the process. I can set hazards. I can disrupt opponents with Encore, Taunt, Yawn, and more. I can set up and be a physical threat if left unchecked. So many possibilities..."
"So in a nutshell, my main competitive identity is as a mixed utility master who manipulates the field, but not without some solid physical attacking options. I'm not exactly built to overpower everyone in one hit... but that's alright! I've never really been the kind of hero who wins by doing everything alone. I'll use my Quirk, my training, and whatever's around me... and I'll find the best way to turn the situation around!"
NEW
"Is it okay for you to help someone like me? I'm sorry... I am an awkward fellow, after all..."
Signature Ability: Turbo Curse
- Effects: Transforms into Turbo Form upon entering battle. (Based on Terapagos' Tera Shift, base form isn't usable in battle)
Signature Move: All-Out Dash
- Type: Ghost
- Classification: Physical (makes contact)
- Power: 120
- Accuracy: 100%
- PP: 2
- Effects: +2 Priority. User takes 1/8th of the damage dealt by this move.
- Flavor: Wielding the speed of a forgotten spirit, the user charges headfirst into the target.
Universal Moves: Gen 8 Full Movepool: (colored = viable) Agility, All-Out Dash,Astonish, Axe Kick, Bounce, Close Combat, Crunch, Curse, Destiny Bond, Detect, Double-Edge, Endure, Extreme Speed, Facade, Fire Fang, Flame Charge, Flare Blitz, Grudge, Head Smash, Headbutt, Hex, High Jump Kick, Ice Fang, Nasty Plot, Quick Attack, Reversal, Scary Face, Shadow Ball, Shadow Claw, Shadow Punch, Shadow Sneak, Spite, Sucker Punch, Super Fang, Take Down, Thunder Fang, Thunder Punch, Torment, Trailblaze, Trick-or-Treat, Upper Hand, U-Turn, Volt Switch, Wild Charge, Work Up
Flavor Reasoning:
"Okay, let's see if I can explain all of this without making it sound completely ridiculous... My name's Ken Takakura, and one fateful day I got cursed by a super powerful yokai called Turbo Granny. It was pretty terrible for a while, but I eventually learned how to control the curse and use her ability of super speed for myself. The fact that I use a ghost's power is pretty straightforward logic for the Ghost type. Whenever I use Turbo Granny's power, I get an entirely new appearance, and I become more... apathetic, for lack of a better word. Point is, this transformation is represented in my ability. I'm not going to be going into battle without transforming. Not with stats like these..."
"Turbo Form more than gives me a fighting chance. Naturally, the Speed stat is on another level. In this form, my ability becomes Reckless. That's probably one of the most fitting Abilities I could have, considering most of my attacks involve throwing my entire body into the opponent. What?! It isn't like my powers just came with martial arts skills or anything! Anyways, Reckless, along with all the attacks that are boosted by it, fit pretty well. They're powerful attacks, but they come with risks because I'm putting so much force into them. And then there's my signature move: All-Out Dash, made as lore accurate as possible in that I can only use it twice. It's an insane attack, especially with Reckless, but having only 2 PP means I can't spam it. Probably for the best..."
"On to the rest of the moves. Agility, Extreme Speed, Quick Attack, Sucker Punch, Shadow Sneak, Trailblaze, Flame Charge, and U-turn are all closely related to speed as a concept. Axe Kick, Close Combat, High Jump Kick, and Reversal represent the very very limited combat ability I've picked up. Scary Face and Torment represent the intimidation factor of Turbo Form, while Volt Switch and my other Electric moves represent Turbo Granny's ability to instantly travel through phone lines. Then there's Nasty Plot and Work Up, which reflect my tendency to prepare before rushing into a fight. But Nasty Plot isn't practical at all! My Special Attack is 45, why would I spend time boosting that?!"
Competitive Reasoning:
"Now for my actual battle plan... I , uh, don't have one. Excuse me. I'll need to get into a combat mindset for this..."
"Alright, why was I even trying to put myself through all this again? Whatever... At 100 Attack and 145 Speed, I can function as a high-speed physical cleaner, or something. My job is to get in when vulnerable targets are exposed, hit them hard, and get out before I get hit back. Reckless enhances that strategy with a significant power boost. Flare Blitz. Wild Charge. Head Smash. High Jump Kick. Give me an attack that throws my whole body into the target, and I'll make it hurt. The recoil doesn't matter if the opponent is already down. ...Well, it matters a little."
"All-Out Dash is my most powerful tool, and the centerpiece of my strategy. Two uses. That's all I get. Two chances to take out key pieces on the other side of the board. That means I can't afford to waste them, yo. It's risky to throw this move out when that witch or any other Normal type can pivot in and block it. Hopefully I'll have some half decent allies who can clear those guys out."
"If I reeeeaaaally have to, I can use non-recoil moves as well. Shadow Claw and Shadow Sneak give me backup STAB for when All-Out Dash runs out. Since I might need to hit Dark types that resist Ghost, I have Close Combat and a few other Fighting attacks. Thunder Punch is nice coverage as well. You shouldn't underestimate me in the status move department, either. Destiny Bond is certainly an interesting tool that naturally pairs well with my Speed. And if I ever use a set with Agility... man, that's just excessive."
"Of course, no one's perfect, least of all me. For starters, my defensive profile. On most mons they'd be passable, but since my gameplan involves a lot of beating myself up as well as my opps, they aren't gonna cut it. I can't afford to sit still and absorb attacks, yo. Not that I was planning to... Even outside of that, my offensive capabilities are limited. I'll have to choose my targets carefully, pivot out when I'm in a bad matchup, avoid wasting my HP recoiling from pointless attacks, and most importantly, don't waste All-Out Dash. That'll be the main challenge. That is, unless I can get my hands on one of those Leppa Berries..."
"I'm such a huge fan of heroes... now I actually am one! I'm a hero!"

Universal Moves: Gen 9 Full Movepool: (colored = viable) Agility, Aqua Jet, Aromatherapy, Aurora Veil, Avalanche, Blizzard, Body Slam, Body Press, Brick Break, Bulk Up, Bulldoze, Charm, Chilling Water, Chilly Reception, Double-Edge, Drain Punch, Earthquake, Encore, Endeavor, Fling, Freeze-Dry, Headlong Rush, Heavy Slam, Ice Ball, Ice Beam, Ice Punch, Ice Shard, Ice Spinner, Icy Wind, Low Kick, Low Sweep, Mountain Gale, Odor Sleuth, Play Rough, Rapid Spin, Roar, Rock Slide, Rock Tomb, Slack Off, Snarl, Snore, Snowscape, Super Snowballs, Surf, Trailblaze, Triple Axel, U-Turn, Weather Ball, Work Up, Yawn
Flavor Reasoning:
"Crossover Chaos, huh? Well, if my help is needed there, then that's where I'm going! I'm Ivan, but when night comes, I become a superhero known as Ice Cub! I'm still pretty new to be honest, so having work to do here will certainly help get me the experience I'll need to become an awesome hero! I've got quite a few powers, but most of the time, blasting bad guys with Ice attacks solves the problem. There really wasn't another option for my type."
"I get snow-related abilities since I spend a lot of time in another dimension called Iceworld, and Limber's there because my legs are technically paralyzed, but that doesn't stop me from moving really fast on my snowboard! Speaking of, my board gets me physical moves like Ice Spinner, Triple Axel, and Headlong Rush. The main ways I use my ice powers are freezing villains with snowballs, and making ice walls. I combined those both into one super awesome signature move!"
"My other powers are my Polar Bear Sniff, which lets me smell all sorts of things from far away, and Polar Bear Hug, which I can use to melt ice. One gets me Odor Sleuth, the other lets me use Body Press, and together they sort of justify Aromatherapy, since it can heal my allies of status conditions like being frozen. Even though I stay up keeping the city safe, getting sleep is important too, so I have Slack Off, Yawn, and Snore as well. Bears are known for that kind of thing. As for all my other moves... I ended up borrowing a lot of my moves from Beartic, haha..."
Competitive Reasoning:
"Here, I'd be the best as a mixed wall with the ability to set up and take over the game. Ice isn't the best type for defense, but that's alright if I can make up for it with my stats and movepool. It'll take a really hard hit to deal damage that I can't just heal from with Slack Off. Using my bulk, it's easy to use Bulk Up or Super Snowballs to make my Defense even higher. My Special Attack is definitely my higher offensive stat, but I've got a bunch more coverage on the physical side, so Bulk Up could work well."
"Being a special attacker gives me more immediate damage, without sacrificing the setup strategy. Once I use Super Snowballs a few times, I can quickly... uh... snowball using the Defense boosts to deal tons of damage with Body Press! Agility raises my Speed to a level where I can just barely outspeed every other character who doesn't have a speed boost of their own. Overall, setup is the key if I'm going to take on an offensive role."
"Similar to how I got a power boost from Iceworld but can still use my powers outside of it, I don't have to have Snow, but it sure does help! Having someone else set it up for me is awesome, since I can take advantage of Slush Rush and get the same boost that Agility would give me. It also enables me to usek Blizzard, and once again have extra defense for Body Press. Having snow up just enables a whole lot! And if there's ever someone else who wants to have Snow up, I can set it for them with Chilly Reception!"
"Lastly, I've got a pretty good amount of utility. Slack Off will probably be the only move I have on every set, since I can switch in on a lot of attacks and then heal when the bad guy swaps out. I can protect my team from all sorts of threats with Aromatherapy, Rapid Spin, and Limber as well. Chilling Water, Charm, and Snarl can stop a lot of damage as well. I already mentioned Chilly Reception, but I've got U-Turn for when I don't need the snow. I even have Aurora Veil and Yawn! I think that my ability to use a lot of different sets will be my greatest strength!"
"Well, it looks like we've got like what, just a bit under 24 hours to go before the subs close? Looks like there's a lot of competition this time around, too! Hmm, now what's the nicest thing I can say to Falchion to stop him bugging people about if they're gonna sub any - OMIGOSH, LUCIUS! HEY!! Gosh, I've been looking all over for you since I found out you were auditioning, too! At least we're in different 'categories' so it's not like we're competing with each other, heh... Hopefully the polls'll give us both at least a little mercy!
"Be that as it may, though, I did have a quick look at your form as soon as I heard from Pit that you'd sent it, and. Um. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the mod council might have just a few, uh, problems with it..."
"Now, lessee 'bout that typing first. I can understand where you were coming from with Fighting as a secondary type - I picked it too, after all! - but pairing it with Ice and a stat spread like what you sent... uh... might be a bit much, if I had to be honest? I mean, Ice/Fighting does kinda suit you, yeah, but it's like, a really good offensive type combo. Like. Really, really, really good, and not really in a good way, you get what I'm saying? It hits more types super-effectively (9) than any other type combo, for crying out loud! I mean, sure, it's a lot worse defensively, but you aren't looking to tank stuff like I am. Still, Ice/Fighting might be a tad, uh, broken for a wallbreaker stat spread like yours, so... uh. Don't get mad, Lucius, but you might wanna change your secondary type to something a bit less busted, maybe? The Tick and Optimus are both part-Fighting anyway, and I'm sure they already have the Close Combat wallbreaking or sweeping gig covered.
"That means we've gotta pick a different secondary type that's as good for beating people up as Ice, but doesn't offer too much synergy. Hmmm... Oh! I've got it! From what Dad told me about your and his escape from that big fire, you need water to make your ice powers work, and the less of it you have, the less ice you can make. Between that and the way you practically surf on your ice formations, I think Ice/Water might actually be super cool on you! Um. Pun not intended. But... seriously, this micrometa doesn't have an offensive Water-type yet, and Ice/Water being resisted by only Water itself would give you a good reason to run Freeze-Dry, though just between the two of us, perhaps a smidge more Special Attack might help with that.
"Which brings me to the next issue the council might take with your submission as is... Dunno about you, but I think you might've overdone it a tad with your Speed stat with Slush Rush being taken into consideration. Regardless of your typing or your... basically nonexistent defenses, I'm pretty sure nobody's gonna appreciate a patented wallbreaker goin' a mile a second even if it's only under pretty specific conditions. There's a reason Mamoswine has only 80 Speed, and Falchion's own Ice-type sub has about the same Speed tier (well, five points less, but who's counting?) precisely because of Slush Rush's speed-doubling effect. With Ice/Water in mind, I feel like being geared for special wallbreaking might help you stand out a bit better since almost everyone who's gotten in thus far has been skewed more to the physical side. Soooooo, what if we took a bit off of your physical Attack and a lot off your Speed to add to the rest of your stats and your Special Attack especially? I'd say reduce your Speed to 80 or so, give 15 of the points deducted to your Special Attack to pack the absolute meanest Blizzards and Surfs ever, and mmmmmaybe split the rest between your defensive stats to help you resist neutral hits a bit better and maybe tank Ivy's Grass STAB almost as well as you would've as an Ice/Fighting-type? Maybe? Could also cut 10 points from your physical Attack and split 'em between your defenses to the same effect, so that'd be 20 more points in total for both your Defense and Special Defense. I'd still stay the heck away from The Tick, though, which you already implied you'd do, and keep your Fighting coverage handy in case Toph or especially Optimus decide to try anything stupid.
"...ooooooooor just replace Slush Rush with Snow Cloak like Mamoswine gets, slide say, 10 to 15 points from your Attack over to your Special Attack, and still swap out Fighting with Water for your second type. Whichever you think works better, I guess!
"Whew, I think I've rambled long enough, but hopefully all of this'll help you out. Good luck out there, Lucius - and I'll be sure to tell Dad you said hi!"
Late-night feedback for some other subs:
Medusa: Sap Sipper makes no sense lorewise because that ability is named "Herbivore" in Japanese and is only used specifically for plant-eating Pokémon, so it'll need to be replaced with a different ability that'll hopefully be more thematically apropos. Also Ghost/Rock is an awful typing defensively for all sorts of reasons, so a Grass resist would probably be useless anyway. IMO a faster special attacker might be a better build for her given how quickly she can slither in the CoTT remake (seriously tho that scene was my favorite part of said remake). I actually made a Ghost/Rock gorgon-themed regional Staryu for the Gen 9 Regional Evolutions reboot which is what this sub reminded me of, so OP is welcome to both make use of it as inspiration and credit me for the original build concept.
Freddy Kreuger: We have Sableye at home. If not for the fact that this mod has two physical offense-focused Dark-types already, this would've been a top pick in the Ghost category for me personally. Dark/Ghost is cringe as an attacking typing but that Attack stat alone could make up for it easy; my guess is he'd be reliant on neutral damage spreading more than hitting super-effectively, though with Steel coverage to counter his sole weakness in Fairy I guess he can get away with mediocre to decent defensive stats rather than excellent. Still, Akko had better sleep with one eye open. All that's possibly missing is Metal Claw being in his competitive move list since it not only fits him perfectly but could also give him a setup sweep opportunity with its 10% chance to raise his Attack stat even further, but its 50 BP in and of itself might not be worth it, so take it or leave it as you will.
Freddie Freaker: We have another Sableye at home. Boomburst with Freak Phone would be terrifying and with 100 SpA it might be a bit of overkill. Calculations by people with more experience than me in that regard might be necessary but for now it may be smart in the long run to lower his SpA to 95 at best so he'd be a little more manageable.
Ghidorah: That stat distribution alone made me go "NAWP" the second I saw it. I was almost tempted to call for a dual defense nerf due to Regenerator but Speed and Special Attack are more of an issue by far due to Ghids's typing being so insanely good offensively. Taking at least 30 points off of Speed is recommended to give Toph a better chance to set up on him with Agility and then destroy him with Play Rough, at least 30 points will need to be transferred off of SpA to give to whichever defense stat he'd need to worry about more (or split 'em between both), and since he learns Volt Switch, Regenerator just has to go, too (and his healing power was only A Thing in his MonsterVerse incarnation anyway). Not a fan of this one at all, unfortunately.
Teggs: We have two Ground-types already as of Slate 3, and given his being a dinosaur I feel like Rock/Electric might be a better typing for him. STAB for both Stone Edge and Supercell Slam would destroy Smaug completely, and the former can take out Shinobu as well since she doesn't get any Fighting STAB.
Ice Cub: No comment on any specific gameplay info for the man himself apart from a joke that he and Cro-Marmot should start a club (Slush Rush, amirite?), but pure Ice on anything intended for serious competitive gameplay that isn't a minmaxed delete button is a disaster waiting to happen. There's a reason the vast majority of Ice-types that have broken into Ubers are dual-typed, and AFAIK most of them really work in spite of their Ice typing rather than because of it. Exceptions like Vanilluxe exist but only because they're optimized for Ice's offensive strengths, and most are either just a tad too slow to really work reliably enough as STAB nukes or don't have enough coverage to address the weaknesses of the type itself. I won't hold this against Ice Cub as he is now, but a secondary type that either enhances the offensive strengths of Ice or, more preferably, patches up its defensive faults might be worth considering given his intent as a special tank. Unlike with Frozone, though, I'm drawing blanks here because I don't know Ice Cub's source material at all, so he's more or less on his own in this respect. Still, Slush Rush is terrifying in the right hands and that'd likely be his best ability choice by far, so buffing his Special Attack enough to exploit it for cleaning or wallbreaking might not be a bad idea necessarily, even if setup sweeping would be riskier due to Ice itself being Certainly A Choice defensively.
