Tauros Dark Spam Hazard Stack

Peaked number 1 and number 5, 3 times

Hey guys, i noticed i havent made an RMT in a while, thats mostly because i havent made a creative team in a while, most of the teams i made in recent times are variations of an already common/meta teams, so i thought i finally get back to my roots and create a team with cool pokemons that still did well. I had 3 teams in mind, one was BO with :weavile:Weavile, :ogerpon-cornerstone:Cornerstone and :enamorus:Enamorus, however a lot of teams eventually used similar cores and i wanted to create an RMT for an even cooler team, considering this meta is similar to that of OLT, i took a team that i used in OLT Playoffs that has tauros on it and edit it to fit the current meta, and this is what i came up with. This team is actually rather simple to use and is very intuitive, so unlike my other RMTs i won't be adding a "How To Use" Section as i feel its redundant here since i would probably just write "Predict right, get up hazard, win quick!". If you have used any other Balance/BO teams you would feel right at home with this team.

Oh, and i also have 4, i mean 3 peaks!

Proof Of Peak(s)

#1 Peak, Sunyi dan sepi~
(I didn't solely use this team, i was cycling through 3 teams because someone was using a hard counter + i was bored)
peak1.png

#5 peak, RlLEYE$COBAR
(This one i laddered with friends)
peak2.png

i will only show one of the 3 #5 peaks cause i wanna keep my other alts a secret for now

Teambuilding Process

:samurott-hisui::tauros-paldea-blaze: the original idea of the team from OLT meta was supposed to be similar the regular Offense with Spikes Samurott and Specs Dragapult, however i wanted to use a different baxcalibur/kingambit counter in offensive Tauros-Blaze as it has a pretty good matchup into :ting-lu::samurott:Ting-lu/Samurott + :zapdos::moltres:Birds + :gholdengo:Dengo combo so it can make a pretty nice cleaner, it also can lure things like Moltres thinking it's a slow passive wall, and then punishing it by showing that it's actually a decently fast and decently strong breaker. Considering how the current meta is very similar to that of Pre-DLC/Home/OLT meta with the amount of Birds + Dengo + Spikes teams floating around and the rise of rillaboom and heatran, taking the base of that team and tweaking it for the current meta wouldn't be that hard and should work wonderfully.

:samurott-hisui::tauros-paldea-blaze::dragapult: Dragapult is a great all-arounder for this team, its strong enough to be a breaker, it's fast enough to be speed control, it has great defensive utility vs ogerpon and great tusk, and it can pivot. All of those qualities are great when paired with samurott's spikes getting chips on important targets so dragapult can break.

:samurott-hisui::tauros-paldea-blaze::dragapult::kingambit: its a kingambit. Next. In all seriousness tho, Samurott isn't exactly the best ghost counter despite being a dark type, so having kingambit helps eliviate the defensive holes on this team. Kingambit also works wonderfully with Spikes as some chip is crucial for its late game swords dance sweeps.

:samurott-hisui::tauros-paldea-blaze::dragapult::kingambit::landorus-therian: I noticed i'm actually quite weak to some common threats like great tusk and swords dance sweepers, so having a ground immune and an extra intimidator in Lando-T will definetly help out, i'm opting to go for special Lando-T here as a surprise againts bulk up threats like great tusk and okidogi, but it still serves the same purpose.

:samurott-hisui::tauros-paldea-blaze::dragapult::kingambit::landorus-therian::goodra-hisui: now this last spot is actually pretty hard, i need a switchin to zapdos and iron valiant, but one that also helps againts ogerpon, i had a few other mons here like bulky Gholdengo, :weezing-galar:Weezing-Galar, :muk-alola:Alolan-Muk and even Ting-lu, but after looking at the lower tiers i found Goodra-Hisui. Goodra is definetly a mid mon however it fits perfectly here as a fairy/ogerpon counter.

Team Analysis

:sv/tauros-paldea-blaze:
Tauros-Paldea-Blaze @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Poison / Flying / Grass
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Raging Bull
- Close Combat
-
Stone Edge

Starting off with the star of the team, Tauros. Instead of the usual physically defensive body press will-o-wisp set tauros-blaze runs, i opted to run Physically offensive, looking at its attack and speed, tauros isnt actually that bad combined with its natural bulk + intimidate, tauros can still eat a lot of physical attacks so you can still safely switch it into :zamazenta:Zamazenta, :cinderace:Cinderace, and :samurott-hisui:Samurott-H. Tauros can easily 2hko physdef 301speed max hp zapdos, but it cannot 2hko fully physdef with stone edge, in this case you use will-o-wisp againts it so dragapult can hex it to death. Tauros is an amazing cleaner/revenge cleaner vs :zapdos::moltres::corviknight:Birds + :ting-lu::samurott-hisui::clodsire:Spikes + :gholdengo:dengo team since it has naturally good mu vs at minimum 3 pokemon. Tauros doesn't really need tera so the choice of tera isn't really important, poison is great vs the fightings and fairys of the tier, flying lets it stop great tusk and grass lets it 1v1 the ogerpon forms.

:sv/samurott-hisui::heavy-duty-boots:
Samurott-Hisui @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Sharpness
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Ceaseless Edge
- Razor Shell
- Encore
-
Knock Off

Samurott is the team's main gholdengo counter and it can set up spikes fairly easily. This team is quite weak to bulky set up sweepers like :garganacl:garganacl, :manaphy:Acid Manaphy and :clefable:Clefable, So i added encore here to help counter those pokemon. Encore is also nice to stall lategame like vs a suckerpunch/sd :kingambit:kingambit or a clefable thats spamming moonlight or even beating :alomomola: Teams using Wish. Knock off is here to knock the boots off of zapdos and also help againts stall team so you can chip them slowly with hazards. I chose razor shell over aqua cutter solely because of the defense drop chance, i am an undeniably lucky player and i am not ashamed picking the less consistent move just because i can hax people. Ghost tera is amazing on samurott, not only you prevent opponents from spinning, you can also dodge fighting moves from stuff like :breloom:breloom or :polteageist:polteageist which has come in handy so many times. No Sucker Punch/Aqua Jet is quite the downside but usually any good opponent will try to scout for it anyways. Boots let you switch in more often vs spikestack teams which is very useful considering how good samurott is vs ting-lu and gholdengo, its ability to ignore webs combined with encore is also amazing letting it stop so many webs sweeper with encore, so i believe boots is non negotiable.

:sv/landorus-therian::rocky-helmet:
Landorus-Therian @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earth Power
- U-turn
-
Grass Knot

Lando is your main switch in to great tusk, grassknot ohkoes any offensive set and u can live neutral ice spinner from offensive tusk very comfortably. Im using special with earthpower so i dont have to sacrifice any damage with its nature and evs, earth power also helps with garganacl and toxapex since a lot of them runs physdef nowadays and beat Iron Defense Zamazenta which usually uses Lando as set up Fodder. Tera-Grass is super useful againts ogerpon, rain and can be a great crutch if u mess up vs Rillaboom tusk BO. Since you have 2 intimidaters, you don't have to switch this into ALL physical threats, only ones that Tauros can't beat like :great-tusk:Great-Tusk, Opposing :landorus-therian:Lando, :corviknight:Corviknight, :garchomp:Garchomp, :zamazenta:Zamazenta, :ogerpon-cornerstone:Cornerstone, Etc. While Tauros can take care of :ogerpon:Teal-Mask, :kingambit:Kingambit, :rillaboom:Rillaboom, :scizor:Scizor, :meowscarada:Meowscarada, etc. Rocky Helmet is here to help againts strong physical attackers like opposing lando, zamazenta and :maushold: Maushold, you don't really need leftovers and its very easy to conserve health on Lando-T.

:sv/goodra-hisui::leftovers:
Goodra-Hisui @ Leftovers
Ability: Sap Sipper
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 32 SpD / 12 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Acid Armor
- Body Press
- Ice Beam
-
Flash Cannon

Now goodra is usually a noob trap with its high bulk and offense, but its incredibly mid and passive but it has its place on some teams. Now, heres a weird set. Usually goodra would run a specially defensive set, and looking at this team's weakness to :fairy-feather:fairy, you would think the same... however i find that acid armor and body press did AMAZING againts some of the more popular teams, since a lot of them have :ogerpon-wellspring:ogerpon-wellspring, :zapdos:zapdos, :ting-lu:tinglu and maybe :great-tusk:great tusk, and this set can easily sweep teams lacking in :gholdengo:dengo, :slowking-galar:glowking and :toxapex:pex, even if u have those mons its not hard to set up for a late game goodra team. While Assault Vest might be better overall, the strengths of this set really shines on this team making goodra look like an actually good mon. Tera Poison is here so i have EXTRA security vs Fairies and also to avoid deaths from :iron-valiant:fighting type moves. Now despite this being a physically defensive set, it is still your team's main special wall, its natural spdef is so high that even with minimal investment it still does well.

:sv/dragapult::choice-specs:
Dragapult @ Choice Specs
Ability: Infiltrator / Clear Body
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Shadow Ball
- Hex

-
U-turn

Dragapult does what dragapult usually do well, be a fast attacker that can hit very hard with choice specs. Only deviation i have on this set is hex to capitalize on tauros' will-o-wisp which u get a lot of chance to fire off from the many good switchins it has. Dragapult also gives amazing defensive utility vs :ogerpon-wellspring:Ogerpon-Wellspring and :great-tusk:Great Tusk since this team gets a lot of hazards up easily. While it's not THAT strong, it's still strong enough to be this teams dedicated special breaker especially with hazard support, Ghost Tera Let's it break easier. NOW i have infiltrator here because on ladder there are so much cheesy substitute sweepers its insane, but considering how this team isn't exactly the best vs webs, having clear body over infiltrator might be worth it.

:leftovers::sv/kingambit::heavy-duty-boots:
Kingambit @ Leftovers / Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Supreme Overlord
Tera Type: Flying

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Kowtow Cleave
- Iron Head

Last but not least, Kingambit. Kingambit is going to be your main ghost resist since :samurott-hisui:Samurott isn't the best ghost resist, It is also going to be your main lategame sweeper. Usually on these bulky offense-style teams the kingambit will be Bulky instead of fast, however i find fast to be more consistent as this team have trouble finishing teams off but excels in breaking teams down, and fast gambit is great for winning ties vs :air-balloon::kingambit:gambit on HO, :skeledirge:Dirge and :corviknight:Corv. Considering this team is pretty ground weak, tera flying is the perfect choice for it, it can lure in :great-tusk:Great Tusk/:landorus-therian:Lando-T and set up on it or you can even terastalize it early to be this teams extra ground immunity. I usually use leftovers on this team but if you find that having a non bulky gambit as your ghost resist Vs Spikestack teams to be difficult, you can always change it to boots.

Other Options

:sv/goodra-hisui:
Goodra-Hisui @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sap Sipper
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 196 HP / 252 SpA / 60 Spe
Modest Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Flash Cannon
- Fire Blast
- Earthquake

Like i said in the Goodra section, my set is very experimental, so in case you don't want to use that, the standard Assault Vest set above is still really good, while it wont be sweeping/cleaning, it will stave off fairies much better.

Threats

:iron-valiant::enamorus::fairy-feather:
Fairies

Fairy type attackers are quite the hassle for this team, your main fairy counter is non spdef goodra, which struggles alot vs Specs Fairy attackers, while it can take Moonblast -> CC From valiant, fairy move spam can be quite the hassle, i suggest conserving goodra's HP until you have an almost guaranteed flash cannon hit be it with tera or luring.

:iron-moth:
Iron Moth

If your opponent is VERY lucky, moth can just win on the spot, after 2 fiery dance boosts its gg. Try to lure out moth early with lando, tauros or samurott and kill it by terastalizing, but if it comes out before u can lure it out, try and scare it out/force tera by going samurott threatening priority move.

:ribombee:
Sticky Webs
(well, certain sticky webs abuser)

Not all sticky webs are threatening since you have zapdos, priority, intimidate spam, boots, encore and goodra but there are some threats that you should be wary in sticky webs team. the main ones you should be wary about are :iron-moth: Special Boosting Iron Moth and :manaphy: Max Speed Tailglow Manaphy, you NEED to prevent moth from setting up by immediately revenge killing with kingambit, no way around it, this manaphy set you need to tera ghost your dragapult to KO it with Shadow Ball -> sucker, but if they get their manaphy out vs tauros, u can get lucky and 2hko it with Close Combat on a speed tie (since they most likely will click tail glow t1 instead of killing)

Replays

Unfortunately since the Replays got deleted, all of the cool replays i saved are gone, i will be adding them once the admins have fixed the replay glitched or when i have collected more, sorry guys!

i do want to give shoutouts to Fusien and Vert for helping me finish this team off with a few changes in sets and evs in the end before i used this in my tournament games and ladder
bb skarm for helping test, 3d pastagirl innovamania and Wildfiree for laddering together with me.

Thanks for reading this RMT, hope you enjoyed the read and have success with this team on ladder, i actually have loads of teams that had peaked #1 and wanted to RMT but i didn't have the same motivation with mons and RMT's as i used to especially since the SV meta moves at a breakneck pace, but i had so much fun with this team that i decided to finally make it into an RMT, i know my peak is very low for a #1 (since my old ones had peaks up to 2150 elo) so i hope you don't mind it. My motivation for mons have somewhat return so hopefully i can post more RMTs back to back, so yea. Please do like this post and also give feedback on the team since im not the best builder out there and can still use advice for the team.

Goodbye everyone! :dp/mew:

I like the sets you use on your teams, encore on samu in particular but also that shadow ball + hex on specs pult was a huge "oh shit" moment for me. Really cool ideas.
