[Overview]

Galarian Darmanitan is a terrifying physical attacker with the ability to decimate unprepared teams with good prediction. Its solid Speed and ability in Gorilla Tactics make it a great Choice Scarf user in Ubers, getting the jump on +1 base 90s such as Zekrom and opposing Choice Scarf users like Kyogre and Landorus-T. Ice is an excellent offensive type in Ubers, hitting most Dragon-types super effectively and granting Galarian Darmanitan plenty of targets. Sadly, its complete lack of bulk combined with its Stealth Rock weakness gives it no defensive utility at all, limiting its entry to double switches and slow pivots. Galarian Darmanitan is a Pokemon that necessitates correct predictions and good positioning thanks to Gorilla Tactics, which makes it harder to use than most Pokemon in the metagame.

[SET]
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: U-turn
move 2: Icicle Crash
move 3: Flare Blitz
move 4: Rock Slide / Earthquake
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Gorilla Tactics
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

U-turn preserves momentum against switch-ins that Galarian Darmanitan cannot handle on its own. Icicle Crash hits many common Pokemon such as Zygarde-C, Groudon, and Zekrom super effectively while also hitting Xerneas for neutral damage. Flare Blitz is its best coverage option for Steel-types such as Necrozma-DM, Zamazenta-C, Magearna, and Ferrothorn, as well as Calyrex-I. Rock Slide deals with Ho-Oh trying to scout what move it's using, opening a potentially massive hole in the opposing team. Alternatively, Earthquake hits bulky Water-types like Kyogre and other Pokemon like Heatran and Rocky Helmet Necrozma-DM. A Jolly nature with Choice Scarf is crucial to outpace every base 90 Speed Pokemon at +1, such as Choice Scarf Kyogre and Dragon Dance Zekrom, as well as faster Pokemon such as Calyrex-S.

Entry hazard control from Pokemon such as Ho-Oh, Yveltal, and Lunala allows Galarian Darmanitan to use U-turn undisturbed by entry hazards and gives it more chances to come in and wreak havoc. Pivots such as U-turn Yveltal, Urshifu-S, and Landorus-T are another great aid to Galarian Darmanitan. Xerneas appreciates the pressure Galarian Darmanitan puts on its checks such as Necrozma-DM and Ho-Oh, and Marshadow appreciates the entry points Galarian Darmanitan provides and can revenge kill Choice Scarf Calyrex-S for it. Finally, hazard setters such as Ferrothorn, Necrozma-DM, and Landorus-T help Galarian Darmanitan apply greater offensive pressure.

[SET]
name: Belly Drum
move 1: Belly Drum
move 2: Substitute
move 3: Icicle Crash
move 4: Earthquake
item: Salac Berry
ability: Zen Mode
nature: Jolly
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Substitute helps Galarian Darmanitan activate Salac Berry, granting it the ability to outspeed everything in the tier unboosted except for Choice Scarf Calyrex-S. Belly Drum becomes much safer to use behind a Substitute, but if your opponent has a Ho-Oh, it's better to use Belly Drum first so that Ho-Oh can't phaze Galarian Darmanitan out after it boosts. Icicle Crash + Earthquake is the preferred combination for its nearly perfect neutral coverage, only missing out on Shedinja, and almost everything in the metagame is OHKOed by one of these two moves after Belly Drum, with some exceptions being bulky Kyogre, Lunala, and Calyrex-I. 4 HP EVs allow Galarian Darmanitan to activate Salac Berry with the combination of Belly Drum and Substitute.

Priority users such as Shadow Sneak Marshadow, Sucker Punch Yveltal, and Sucker Punch Urshifu-S are Galarian Darmanitan's biggest weaknesses, since they can bypass its Speed boost and easily revenge kill it. Therefore, it's best to first remove them with teammates such as Zygarde-C, Eternatus, and bulky Xerneas before attempting to set up and sweep; these Pokemon can also scout Calyrex-S to determine if it's a Choice Scarf variant or not. Additionally, entry hazard removers like Ho-Oh and Yveltal are necessary partners so Galarian Darmanitan doesn't have to take Stealth Rock damage; otherwise, it can't set Substitute and is vulnerable to being statused by a foe like Thunder Wave Necrozma-DM.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
====

Choice Band Galarian Darmanitan can utilize the same set as the Choice Scarf variant, granting even more nuclear damage output on Sticky Web teams, which can make up for the loss of Choice Scarf's Speed boost. Fire Punch is an option on Belly Drum sets, as it allows Galarian Darmanitan to KO certain targets it otherwise can't such as Shedinja and Calyrex-I.

Checks and Counters
====

**Revenge Killers**: Choice Scarf Calyrex-S can outspeed and OHKO either set with Astral Barrage, and priority users such as Yveltal, Urshifu-S, and Marshadow can KO Galarian Darmanitan after Stealth Rock damage.

**Bulky Water-types**: Bulky Water-types such as Kyogre can stomach Galarian Darmanitan's hits and force it out.

**Pivots**: Pokemon such as Ho-Oh and Necrozma-DM can scout Galarian Darmanitan's set and respond from there by doubling back to the appropriate check or phazing it.

Flare blitz is your best coverage option for the steel types such as Necrozma-DM, Skarmory and Corviknight.
also ferrothorn, magearna and calyrex-ice

Jolly nature is crucial for you because it allows you outpace every 90 base speed pokemon at +1, such as Scarf Kyogre, DD Zekrom, and Calyrex-Shadow.
this is badly said. calyrex-shadow is not a 90 bs mon at +1

Ice Ground is the preferred coverage choice as it hits everything in the tier except Shedinja, and everything it will hit WILL drop in 1.
you're overselling it, everything doesn't immediately die to +6 darm-g
+6 252 Atk Darmanitan-Galar Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Kyogre: 355-418 (87.8 - 103.4%) -- 25% chance to OHKO
+6 252 Atk Darmanitan-Galar Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Calyrex-Ice: 323-381 (79.9 - 94.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Lash out/Bite is an option as Lunala can stomach 2 Icicle Crashes and threaten a Will-O-Wisp burn, and Calyrex-Shadow doesn't die in 1 hit to a choice scarf Icicle crash.
...? darm already suffers a bit of 4mss, i don't know why you would want to remove one of his moveslot for bite, please remove that. instead, you can mention fire punch on sub bd darm, it allows you to hit shedinja, as well as being sure to ohko the rare full def ferrothorn

and recover on a slower Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Blissey, or a Paralyzed pokemon such as Eternatus
theorizing the reader's team instead of the opponent's team seems pretty off. just say "on a pokemon slower than dusk mane"

  • Darmanitan-G is a terrifying physical attacker with the ability to decimate unprepared teams with good prediction
  • It's speed stat of 95 and it's ability Gorilla Tactics poises it to be a great choice scarfer in Ubers, getting the jump on the other main Scarfer, Kyogre scarf ogre kinda sucks but also caly is the other main scarfer I'd say, can just mention +1 base 90's and around that in general like zekrom, ogre, and even scarf lando t
  • Ice is an excellent offensive type in ubers, hitting most of the dragons super effectively granting it plenty of targets.
  • It's completely lack of any ability to take a hit and net zero resistances combined with its stealth rock weakness gives it no defensive utility at all, limiting its entry to doubles or slow pivots
  • Darmanitan-G is a Pokemon that lives and dies by correct predictions quick mention to gorilla tactics being the reason for this since there's a main set without gorilla tactics that isn't as prediction reliant, don't have to mention the difference in sets but mention the ability and good positioning, which makes it harder to use than most Pokemon in the tier

Icicle crash is your stab move to choice to hit alot of the strongest pokemon in the tier, such as Zygarde-Complete, Groudon, and Zekrom, and neutral targets such as Zacian and Palkia. U turn is your move to click to keep pressure going, and keep momentum and is generally your safest button. Flare blitz is your best coverage option for the steel types such as Necrozma-DM, Skarmory and Corviknight, aswell as pokemon such as Calyrex-Ice, ferrothorn and Magearna. Rock slide is to allow you to throttle any Ho-oh trying to scout what button your clicking, opening a potentially massive hole in their team. Earthquake is your move to hit Toxapex, while being a safeground against Eternatus and Necrozma-DM without taking recoil damage from Flare blitz or the potential rocky helmet. Jolly nature with Choice Scarf is crucial for you because it allows you outpace every 90 base speed pokemon at +1, such as Scarf Kyogre, DD Zekrom, and faster pokemon adamant nature cant outpace such as Calyrex-Shadow.

Hazard control such as Ho-oh, Yveltal, or Lunala can allow Darmanitan to U-turn undisturbed by rocks entry hazards, allowing it more chances to come in to wreak havoc. Slow pivoters such as Slow U-turn Yveltal, Teleport Blissey, U-turn Corviknight or dangerous threats that force switches and can pivot such as Urshifu are another great aid to Darm-G, as it allows it safe entry. Pokemon such as Zacian and Xerneas, appreciate the pressure Darmanitan forces onto their checks such as Necrozma and Ho-oh. Finally, Hazard supports than give entry hazard users such as Ferrothorn, Necrozma-DM, and Skarmory help Darmanitan apply greater offensive pressure with U-turn such as Ferrothorn, Necrozma-DM, or Skarmory.

Have you ever played Slenderman? Well this right here is scarier. Substitute is your way to get down to Salac berry range, granting you the ability to outspeed everything in the tier unboosted except for Scarf Calyrex-Shadow. Once you get that substitute clicked, Belly drum is next to be clicked, however this order can be reversed if they have a Ho-oh, as the moment you Substitute they WILL faze you out, especially since Ho-oh is a common first pivot to a Darmanitan. personally I dislike how this just reads as a play-by-play almost, I'd maybe shore it up to more general wording but GP might reword it or think it's fine so this is just a suggestion for now Ice Ground is the preferred coverage choice as it hits everything in the tier metagame neutrally or super effectively except Shedinja, and near everything will drop to this coverage, with exceptions being phys def Kyogre, and Calyrex-Ice. give the 4 hp evs a quick mention, how they let you activate salac after sub + bd or rocks + bd

Darmanitan's partners remain largely the same, try to avoid referencing the other set's checks in a comparative way, maybe just reword how this is started. however it's weakness to priority is suddenly its biggest downfall, as since all but Calyrex-Shadow is outsped after setup, the way to handle it suddenly lies in dashing past its priority bracket. Threats with priority such as Marshadow, Sucker Punch Yveltal, and Sucker Punch Urshifu are your biggest weaknesses. However, if they are eliminated from Pokemon such as defensive Zygarde-Complete, Eternatus and bulky Xerneas, and the potential Calyrex-Shadow has been scouted to not be scarfed, this doesn't really fit with the same mentions as above since zyg etern and xern can't be the ones to scout if it's scarfed safely. I'd give another quick shout to yveltal just for u-turn and scouting if caly is scarf since that's so important for this set. your path is likely clear to be able to get Darmanitan into position. However it's important to make sure you send it in at full without a field of hazards, as taking rocks prevents the safety net of a Subtitute protected Belly drum, and prevents a Pokemon trying to attempt a status it during the setup, such as Thunder wave Necrozma.

Choice Band Darmanitan-Galar can utilize the same set as the scarf variant, granting even more nuclear damage output on sticky web teams, who don't mind the lack of a choice scarf on Darm-G. Fire punch is an option on sub belly drum sets, as it allows you to hit and kill certain targets you can't such as Shedinja, and Calyrex-Ice

Checks and Counters
====

  • Necrozma-Dusk-Mane can swallow any 1 hit from the scarf set and potentially pivot out while forcing huge recoil, and recover on a slower target, or a paralyzed Pokemon such as Eternatus
  • **Bulky Water-types**: Kyogre 100% needs a mention as one of the best darm counters, and toxapex can also be mentioned as a scout and wall if no eq.
  • Scarf Calyrex-Shadow can outspeed threaten a cold OHKO with Astral Barrage to either set
  • Priority users such as Yveltal, Urshifu and Marshadow threaten Darm-G with the ability to revenge kill it after rocks chip damage.
  • Ho-oh can pivot into any non Rock slide Darmanitan has to throw at it and switch out to a check to whatever move it locked into, or faze it depending on the situation.
  • Lunala is capable of stomaching 2 of any of Darmanitan-G's moves and threaten it out with a potential Will-O-Wisp, or Roost off the damage.

ping me when the intro is in paragraphs and the checks and counters section formatting is standardized and I'll give it a quick look over and stamp, first I'd reread through this though and make sure all mons are capitalized, and mons names line up with the spelling and grammar standards since multiple different short forms for darm-g are used in this (I think it should just be Galarian Darmanitan) as well as other mons like "Calyrex-S", "Necrozma-DM", etc. just to make it easier before GP

completely lack of any ability to take a hit and net zero resistances
it resists ice so just change this wording

and near everything will drop to this coverage, with exceptions being bulky Kyogre, and Calyrex-Ice. 4 HP evs allow Galarian Darmanitan to activate Salac berry with belly drum and substitute
Change it to "with some exceptions being bulky Kyogre, Calyrex-I, and bulky Lunala" or something similar, but Lunala should be mentioned tho since it lives crash with shadow shield at +6 and can phaze.

However it's important to make sure you send it in at full without a field of hazards, as taking rocks prevents the safety net of a Subtitute protected Belly drum,
Give a quick mention of which defogging teammates are best here, probably just Ho-Oh and Yvel should be added

I think Marshadow can be mentioned as a good partner in the scarf section, as it appreciates U-turn on ndm to break and likes darm forcing out Zygarde, while they can both mutually pressure Ho-Oh. Marsh also revenges scarf caly which is big

For the Checks and Counters section, the formatting should be like this below and not in a paragraph:

**Insert Threat Here**: You should describe why the Pokemon is a threat. Order threats by potency and viability.

ie. **Necrozma-DM**: Necrozma-DM can swallow any 1 hit from the scarf set and potentially pivot out while forcing huge recoil, and recover on a slower target, or a paralyzed Pokemon such as Eternatus. (Mention from either blitz or just rocky helmet since not all its moves naturally cause recoil)

QC 2/2 when this is done

[Overview]

Galarian Darmanitan is a terrifying physical attacker with the ability to decimate unprepared teams with good prediction. It's Speed stat of 95 and it's ability Gorilla Tactics poises it to be a great Choice Scarfer Its solid Speed and ability Gorilla Tactics make it a great Choice Scarf user in Ubers, getting the jump on +1 base 90s at +1 such as Zekrom (remove comma) and opposing Choice Scarfers Scarf users like Kyogre and Landorus-Therian. Ice is an excellent offensive type in Ubers, hitting most of the Dragon-type Pokemon super effectively and granting it Galarian Darmanitan plenty of targets. It's Sadly, its complete lack of any ability to take a hit bulk combined with its Stealth Rock weakness gives it no defensive utility at all, limiting its entry to doubles or double switches and slow pivots.(period) Galarian Darmanitan is a Pokemon that lives and dies by necessitates correct predictions and good positioning thanks to Gorilla Tactics, which makes it harder to use than most Pokemon in the metagame.

Icicle Crash is its STAB move of choice to hit a lot of the strongest Pokemon in the tier, such as Zygarde-C, Groudon, Zekrom, and neutral targets such as Xerneas. U-turn is its move to click to keep pressure going, keep momentum and is generally its safest option. U-turn preserves momentum against switch-ins that Galarian Darmanitan cannot handle on its own. Icicle Crash hits many common Pokemon such as Zygarde-C, Groudon, and Zekrom super effectively while also hitting Xerneas for neutral damage. Flare Blitz is its best coverage option for the Steel-types such as Necrozma-DM, Zamazenta-Crowned, Magearna, and Ferrothorn, as well as Pokemon such as Calyrex-I and Magearna. Rock Slide is to allow it to dispatch deals with Ho-Oh trying to scout what move it's(apostrophe) using, opening a potentially massive hole in their the opposing team. Alternatively, Earthquake is its move to hits bulky Water-type Pokemon like Kyogre (remove comma) and other Pokemon like Heatran and Rocky Helmet Necrozma-DM. A Jolly nature with Choice Scarf is crucial because it allows Galarian Darmanitan to outpace every 90 base 90 Speed Pokemon at +1, such as Choice Scarf Kyogre (remove comma) and Dragon Dance Zekrom, as well as faster Pokemon an Adamant nature can't outspeed such as Calyrex-S.

Entry hazard control from Pokemon such as Ho-Oh, Yveltal, or and Lunala can allows Galarian Darmanitan to use U-turn undisturbed by entry hazards (remove comma) allowing and gives it more chances to come in and wreak havoc. Pivots such as U-turn Yveltal, Urshifu-S, and U-turn Landorus-T or dangerous threats that force switches and can pivot such as Urshifu-S are another great aid to Galarian Darmanitan. Xerneas appreciate the pressure Galarian Darmanitan forces onto puts on its checks such as Necrozma-DM and Ho-Oh, and Marshadow appreciates the entry points Galarian Darmanitan provides and has the ability to can revenge kill Choice Scarf Calyrex-S for it. Finally, hazard setters such as Ferrothorn, Necrozma-DM, and Landorus-T help Galarian Darmanitan apply greater offensive pressure.

[SET COMMENTS]

Substitute is its way to get down to helps Galarian Darmanitan activate Salac Berry range, granting it the ability to outspeed everything in the tier unboosted except for Choice Scarf Calyrex-S. Once Substitute is used, Belly Drum is next, however this order can be reversed if they have a Ho-Oh, as the moment it uses Substitute the opponent will phaze it out, especially since Ho-Oh is a common pivot to a Galarian Darmanitan. Belly Drum becomes much safer to use behind a Substitute, but if your opponent has a Ho-Oh, it's better to use Belly Drum first so that Ho-Oh can't phaze Galarian Darmanitan out after it boosts. Icicle Crash and Earthquake is the preferred coombination as it hits everything in the metagame neutrally or super effectively except Shedinja, and nearly everything will get OHKOd by this combination at +6, with some exceptions such as bulky Kyogre, Lunala, and Calyrex-I combination for its nearly perfect neutral coverage, only missing out on Shedinja, and almost everything in the metagame is OHKOed by one of these two moves after a Belly Drum, with some exceptions being bulky Kyogre, Lunala, and Calyrex-I. 4 HP EVs allow Galarian Darmanitan to activate Salac Berry with the combination of Belly Drum and Substitute.

Galarian Darmanitan's weakness to priority is its biggest downfall, as since all but Calyrex-S is outsped after setup, the way to handle it suddenly lies in dashing past its priority bracket. Priority users such as Shadow Sneak Marshadow, Sucker Punch Yveltal, and Sucker Punch Urshifu-S are its Galarian Darmanitan's biggest weaknesses, since they can bypass its Speed boost and easily revenge kill it. However, if they are eliminated from Pokemon such as defensive Zygarde-C, Eternatus, bulky Xerneas, and have scouted potential Choice Scarf Calyrex-S, your path is likely clear to be able to get Galarian Darmanitan into position. However it's important to make sure its sent in at full without a field of hazards with hazard removers such as Ho-Oh and Yveltal, as taking rocks prevents the safety net of a Subtitute protected Belly Drum, and prevents a Pokemon trying to attempt a status it during the setup, such as Thunder wave Necrozma-DM. Therefore, it's best to first remove them with teammates such as Zygarde-C, Eternatus, and bulky Xerneas before attempting to set up and sweep; these Pokemon can also scout Calyrex-S to determine if it's a Choice Scarf variant or not. Additionally, entry hazard removers like Ho-Oh and Yveltal are necessary partners so Galarian Darmanitan doesn't have to take Stealth Rock damage; otherwise it can't set up a Substitute and is vulnerable to being statused by a foe like Thunder Wave Necrozma-DM. (This paragraph was really hard to read. I did my best interpretation of what you meant here, so if I accidentally changed the meaning, let me know and we can fix that up.)

Choice Band Galarian Darmanitan can utilize the same set as the Choice Scarf variant, granting even more nuclear damage output on Sticky Web teams, who don't mind the lack of a Choice Scarf on Galarian Darmanitan which can make up for the loss of Choice Scarf's Speed boost. Fire Punch is an option on sub Belly Drum sets, as it allows it to hit and kill Galarian Darmanitan to KO certain targets it otherwise can't such as Shedinja and Calyrex-I.

I'm doing this check over an implementation of Rabia's check because there were a couple of things that weren't implemented properly from his check. Please be sure that you implement everything properly from this check. Use this video as a reference as to how to implement a GP check correctly. Be sure to copy and paste the sections that lack changes from me as well, since they contained implemented changes from the previous check.
