Round 1:

And now the first round of Generation 9 BBP has begun! TMan87 has decided to toss out Charlotte the Farigiraf, giving it a Sitrus Berry to take advantage of Cud Chew no doubt. Meanwhile, LouisCyphre has decided to send out Penthesilea Glimmora with a Focus Sash, an item I am NOT looking forward to dealing with in the future. Regardless, the trainers have given their orders, so now let's see how this plays out.

Penthesilea starts us off with an Acid Spray, dropping Charlotte's Special Defense like a stone. Charlotte does not take too kindly to this, and launches a Psychic assault to throw her type advantage around. However, Charlotte is having some trouble doing damage here, thanks to that Focus Sash. This pattern continues for the entire round, Penthesilea throwing acid all over the arena while being launched like a ping pong ball across the arena! At the end of it, Penthesilea is looking a little worse for wear, but Charlotte's Special Defense has been whittled to nothing. The focus sash drops off soon afterwards, so the next round should see some serious fireworks.

It looks like TMan has taken an early lead, but Lou has set himself up for success next round. Who will gain the advantage next? Stay tuned to find out!

Round 2:

Welcome back folks to this exciting match! Both trainers have elected to switch here, which seems odd to me since Lou had a free 24 Damage per hit for the next two hits, but I digress. Lou has switching in Vasudhara the Arboliva, while TMan has sent in U-1146 the Annihilape. The new matchup seems to favor TMan, but let's see what happens.

Vasudhara starts the round by preparing some leech seeds to entangle her opponent with. Faithfully, U-1146 focuses intensely, using his jewel to prepare a vicious strike. But wait! It turns out this was a ruse by Vasudhara, who promptly entangles U-1146 with seed infested grass vines! U-1146 loses his focus and punches the floor, throwing up dust in the arena, but doing nothing to his opponent! A clever move for sure by Lou here to abuse that substitution.

U-1146 decides to stick with the original plan, and hones his claws to deal more damage later, while Vasudhara strikes back with a Dazzling Gleam that blinds U-1146 (and part of the audience). U-1146 then decides that he's had more than enough of Vasudhara's shenanigans, and goes in for a devastating Cross Chop! However, even in taking the direct approach, he cannot seem to avoid Vasudhara's tricks. An Eject Button is pressed, and furthermore her Seed Sower ability activates, covering the field in lush green grass. Vasudhara smiles, then launches a powerful Terrain Pulse at U-1146. Before U-1146 can continue his assault, Vasudhara switches out from the Eject Button.

Lou has obtained the upper hand here, seeding U-1146, dealing a healthy amount of damage, and pivoting away into a stronger matchup. Don't count TMan out of this yet though. What will happen next? Stay tuned to find out!
