AG Defensive (Arceus-Fairy) [QC 0/2]

[OVERVIEW]
Arceus-Fairy is a staple on balance and Bulky Offense teams thanks to its great bulk and ability to check a number of common physical attackers, like Koraidon and Arceus. However, Arceus-Fairy struggles with common Pokemon such as Ho-Oh, Tera fire Necrozma-DM, and Zacian-C, who can either threaten Arceus-Fairy with supereffective damage or completely wall it, and it’s inability to hold Heavy Duty Boots makes it vulnerable to hazard chip from spikes, stealth rocks and toxic spikes, So care must be taken to ensure it stays healthy enough to check Koraidon consistently.

[SET]
Defensive (Arceus-Fairy) @ Pixie Plate
Ability: Multitype
Tera Type: Water / Poison
EVs: 248 Hp / 244 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
-Judgment
-Recover
-Thunder Wave / Will-O-Wisp
-Power Gem / Stealth Rock / Taunt

[SET COMMENTS]

This set maximizes Arceus-Fairy’s ability to take on the various physical attackers in the tier, most notably Koraidon.
Judgment has good neutral coverage, notably against other support Arceus formes, and deals massive damage to Koraidon and Miraidon while also forcing out Ting-Lu. Recover keeps it healthy throughout the game to continuously check threats, and Thunder Wave could cripple common switchins such as Ho-Oh, Necrozma-DM, and Eternatus while also threatening Pokemon that would otherwise Tera Fire to absorb Will-O-Wisp, such as Arceus-Ground, Necrozma-DM, and Koraidon. Alternatively, Will-O-Wisp threatens physical attackers more directly, at the cost of making Arceus-Fairy struggle against Ho-Oh and Tera users. The last move slot is quite flexible, power gem is an option to threaten Ho-Oh while stealth rocks could be used help wear down opposing defensive Pokemon throughout the course of a battle, and taunt when paired with extra speed investment can prevent opposing defensive Pokémon from setting up hazards or some offensive Pokemon from using Arceus-Fairy as setup fodder.

Slow wallbreakers Such as Offensive Ho-Oh and Kyogre appreciates the paralysis support that Arceus-Fairy provides, with it also being able to take off some of the pressure of them checking Koraidon as well. Although Arceus-Fairy is a great physical wall, it still struggles with foes such as Zacian-C, Necrozma-DM, and Eternatus if not terastallized, and due to its inability to hold Heavy Duty Boots, it is vulnerable to Entry hazards such as stealth rocks, spikes and toxic spikes. Checks for the aforementioned Pokemon such as defensive Ho-Oh and Necrozma-DM are great, and Eternatus is also a great teammate as it can absorb the toxic spikes that opposing Eternatus may set up. Hazard removing teammates are also appreciated, however, it is only available on more niche options such as Giratina-O and Iron Treads.

Some bulk can be sacrificed for speed in order to outspeed other Taunt support Arceus formes, but at the cost of making Arceus-Fairy less reliable as a Koraidon check. calm mind could be used to make Arceus-Fairy a good wincon once it’s checks are taken out, but always loses to either Ho-Oh or Necrozma-DM Depending on the coverage ran.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Necrozma-Dusk Mane**:With its Steel typing and great bulk, Necrozma-DM easily walls Arceus-Fairy and threaten it back with Sunsteel strike, especially if Necrozma-DM uses Tera fire, which also allows it to be immune to Will-O-Wisp and turn variants without Thunder Wave into setup fodder.

**Zacian-Crowned**: Zacian can threaten Arceus-Fairy with Behemoth Blade or potentially set up on it, however a status move like Will-O-Wisp or Thunder Wave would ruin it and Tera water would allow arceus-fairy to flip the matchup.

**Ho-Oh**: With its Fairy resistant and incredibly high special defense, Ho-Oh walls Arceus-Fairy without Power Gem and PP stall it’s recovery with brave bird, while burns from sacred fire would its longevity.

**Eternatus**: With its great bulk and pressure, it could stall out judgment PP, reliably take attacks from Arceus-Fairy, and threaten it with a sludge bomb or toxic, the toxic spikes it lays down also cripples its longevity over the course of a game.

**Tera Fire Users**: Many Offensive Pokemon like Arceus-Ground and Koraidon commonly runs Tera fire, which makes them immune to Will-O-Wisp and resistant to judgment, which turns variants of Arceus-Fairy without thunder wave into setup fodder.

OVERVIEW]
Owing to its great typing and bulk, along with a deep pool of utility moves, Arceus-Fairy is a versatile Defensive pokemon and one of the best checks to the mighty Koraidon along with many other physical attackers such as Arceus and Arceus-Ground, which makes it a great pick on balance, fat and bulky offense structures. The decent neutral coverage provided by Judgment allows Arceus-Fairy to bring out the full potential of its support move pool, with options like thunder wave, Will-O-Wisp, stealth rocks, and taunt. However, it is vulnerable to entry hazards due to the lack of removal outside of giratina-o, which can wear it down, hindering its ability to check the threats its supposed to deal with. Arceus-Fairy also struggles with common Pokemon Such as Necrozma-DM, Zacian-C, and Ho-Oh, threatens it back with powerful attacks or wall Arceus-Fairy.

More speed could be ran over bulk to outrun opposing Arceus running taunt, however this will make it harder for it to check koraidon. Will-O-Wisp and thunder wave could be both ran on the same set to pester both of its checks, but running both could lose out on the utility of taunt, stealth rocks or other moves. calm mind could be used to become a good wincon, but Calm Mind arceus-fairy is always walled either by Ho-Oh or Necrozma-DM due to being incapable of running both Power Gem and Earth Power.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Necrozma-Dusk Mane**:With its Steel typing and great bulk, Necrozma-DM could easily wall variants not running Earth Power, and threaten it back with a super effective Sunsteel strike, however, it has to watch out for Will-O-Wisp, and it doesn't appreciate thunder wave either.

**Zacian-Crowned**: Just like Necrozma Dusk mane, Zacian can threaten Arceus-Fairy with powerful steel type attacks and potentially set up on it, but a status move like Will-O-Wisp could ruin it.

**Ho-Oh**: With its Flying and fire typing, Ho-Oh walls Arceus-Fairy without Gower Gem and can threaten it back with a burn from sacred fire, limiting its longevity.

**Eternatus**: With its great bulk, it can easily shrug off hits from Arceus-Fairy and threaten it with a sludge bomb or toxic, the toxic spikes it can lay down also limits its effectiveness over the course of a game.

some good stuff here, some less good stuff here. Please make sure you're not forgetting important parts of the analysis (discussion of tera types) and that your tone is professional. There's a lot of fluff and confusing phrasing in here. I've done my best to highlight it but there's probably stuff that I missed. Overall pretty solid for your first analysis though. Ping me on disc / here once you've implemented and I'll make another pass and hopefully stamp. This is also my first qc in ages so I probably missed stuff.

Implemented, thanks! I’ve been waiting for months!

Hi. I'm sorry to do this but I was checking it again and realized that I essentially had to rewrite every other sentence. The writing style is very unprofessional and there are all kinds of S&G mistakes that make it brutal to check. I'd prefer if someone with more writing experience could handle this mon since it's such a meta staple.

qc reject 1/2

If you go over the entire thing with a fine-toothed comb and make it readable and actually finish implementing my check from earlier then I might be convinced to take another look later.

Don't be too discouraged, it's just that this mon is super important and I don't think I can make this analysis represent its importance without having to effectively rewrite the entire thing myself. Feel free to try reserving something else that's less important.
