[OVERVIEW]
The combination of Imposter and Choice Scarf allows Ditto to outspeed the foe, making it a strong setup deterrent and one of the best revenge killers to sweepers like Thundurus, Salamence, and Kommo-o. Ditto also has utility against stall teams, as it cannot be easily PP stalled, especially if it is able to switch into Knock Off from defensive Tangrowth, and can take advantage of transforming into opposing clerics like Umbreon and Chansey. However, Ditto can be awkward to fit onto teams, as it often cannot switch into anything safely or provide any defensive utility outside of Regenerator. Imposter also fails against Substitute, which can be problematic against certain variants of Kommo-o and Gyarados. Ditto is also unable to effectively stop bulkier setup sweepers with recovery such as Galarian Slowbro and Reuniclus due to being Choice-locked.

[SET COMMENTS]

Transform is the only move Ditto learns. The provided EVs allow Ditto to do more damage with Future Sight after transforming into a Pokemon like Reuniclus.

Ditto is able to function as a revenge killer on any archetype but is most often found on bulky balance or stall teams that are too passive to efficiently prevent Pokemon from setting up. Chansey is an excellent partner that can get Ditto in safely with Teleport to immediately pressure strong wallbreakers like Salamence and Lycanroc-D. Since Ditto is grounded before transforming, it is vulnerable to all entry hazards besides Sticky Web; entry hazard removal from Salamence and Rotom-H is valuable to keep Ditto healthy. Klefki is able to provide Spikes to wear down the opposing team to better facilitate a countersweep from Ditto. Bulky pivots such as Tangrowth and Amoonguss appreciate Ditto's ability to countersweep, since Pokemon like Salamence often use them as setup fodder. In return, Tangrowth and Amoonguss can switch into opposing Choice Scarf users like Krookodile and Zarude, which Speed tie with Ditto, and sponge Knock Off. Regenerator users such as the aforementioned Reuniclus, Amoonguss, and Tangrowth work well with Ditto, as they can PP stall defensive walls like Chansey together. On stall teams, Pokemon like Haze Quagsire and Spite Pyukumuku can beat bulky Calm Mind users like Reuniclus and Galarian Slowbro, which Ditto is unable to revenge kill.

Ditto's value is rooted in its revenge killing capabilities, so it should never run anything besides Choice Scarf.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Substitute Users**: Substitute users like Chandelure and Kommo-o can prevent Ditto from revenge killing them and proceed to wreak havoc.

**Choice Scarf Users**: Opposing Choice Scarf users will always Speed tie with Ditto and cannot be reliably revenge killed.

**Knock Off**: Ditto relies on Choice Scarf to outspeed and properly check threats, so it should avoid taking a Knock Off except when it is copying Regenerator or facing a stall team.

[OVERVIEW]
- Ditto is a strong set-up deterrent as it one of the best revenge-killers thanks to the combination of Imposter and a Choice Scarf. Be specific and say it can copy stats and always be faster thanks to the scarf.
- One of few answers to sweepers like boosted Thundurus-I, Salamence, and Latias Just merge these examples into your first line about stuff it can copy
- Can still have utility against Stall teams as it cannot be easily pp stalled, especially if it is able to switch into a Knock Off from Defensive Mew or Tangrowth.
- Ditto is awkward to fit onto teams as it often cannot switch in safely or provide any defensive utility
- Fails to do its main job of revenge killing against Substitute, which can be especially problematic against the more rare Kommo-o and Gyarados variants
- It is unable to effectively stop bulkier setup sweepers with recovery due to being choice-locked List some examples like Glowbro and Reuniclus

Paragraph 1
- Imposter lets Ditto transform immediately

Transform is the only move Ditto learns.

- EVs account for the rare opposing Ditto matchup in which both Struggle.

Paragraph 2
- Ditto fits best on fat balance or stall teams as it can easily prevent a sweep. Ditto can fit on literally any playstyle, it just depends on whether the team wants an all-around catch to the tier's vast set up threats.

- Chansey and Slowking are excellent partners that can get ditto in safely with Teleport to immediately pressure strong breakers like Terrakion or Latias

- Since Ditto is grounded before transforming, it is vulnerable to all entry hazards, so hazard removal like Skarmory and Rotom-H are valuable to keep Ditto healthy I'd use mence over skarm as it is a more common Defog user. Give Skarmory its own point about providing Spikes support to wear down foes into range for Ditto to reverse sweep

- Bulky pivots such as Tangrowth and Amoonguss appreciate Ditto's ability to reverse sweep since pokemon like Scizor often set up to break past them I'd rather see a mention of how them having Regenerator allows Ditto to PP stall most defensive walls like a Chansey.

- In return, Tangrowth and Amoonguss can switch into opposing Choice Scarf users like Krookodile and Zarude that would otherwise tie with Ditto. Just tie this into the same point above

- On stall teams, pokemon like Haze Quagsire and Specially Defensive Pyukumuku can beat bulky Calm Mind users like Reuniculus and Slowbro-Galar It's Galarian Slowbro, not Slowbro-Galar that Ditto is unable to revenge kill

this realistically never happens. instead, giving ditto spa evs allows future sights it copies from slowking to actually pack a punch in combination with other attacks from mons like terrak. for example:

0 SpA Ditto Future Sight vs. 252 HP / 36 SpD Amoonguss: 112-132 (25.9 - 30.5%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
252+ SpA Ditto Future Sight vs. 252 HP / 36 SpD Amoonguss: 180-214 (41.6 - 49.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

its a pretty big difference

i think there's something else you can do here, the bulky setup sweepers point feels weird bc you honestly often use the combination of ditto + other pokemon to stall out / deal w/ these fat psychics. i can't really think of anything but ditto doesn't really have any answers by nature other than sub mons so it's kinda eh

It is most often found on fat balance or stall teams as it can easily prevent a sweep but cannot provide much defensive utility itself i think a better way to word this would just be that these teams are too passive to halt a setup sweeper from setting up and thus ditto being on the team helps fix that a bit. Chansey and Slowking are excellent partners that can get Ditto in safely with Teleport to immediately pressure strong breakers like Terrakion or Lycanroc-D. Since Ditto is grounded before transforming, it is vulnerable to all entry hazards it's not vulnerable to sticky web because the speed drop disappears when it transforms, so hazard removal like Salamence and Rotom-H are valuable to keep Ditto healthy.
