The vast majority of Ditto sets are going to be either Choice Scarf or Focus Sash, with the former being preferred. Imposter and a Choice Scarf allows Ditto to revenge kill boosted sweepers and use their boosts against the rest of the opposing team. Due to the existence of Dynamax, Ditto can also Dynamax as the copied Pokemon and change up moves while holding a Choice Scarf, though the speed boost from the Scarf is lost. This mitigates a lot of the weaknesses that Ditto had in previous generations, as it was more easily managed due to being locked into a move after revenge killing the set up sweeper.

Ditto exists as more of a deterrent in Team Preview rather than as part of most established cores, especially as an anti-hyper offense tool. Teams that can sometimes be overwhelmed by hard setup from Gyarados or weather sweepers such as Excadrill or Barraskewda can have Ditto on them for this reason.

Technically it would be optimal for Ditto to be Relaxed with 252 HP / 252 Def with a 0 Speed IV for the niche Ditto mirror, but otherwise it's Ditto so there's not much else to say. QC 2/2
