Slate n°6:
This time two terrible Bug-types and the franchise's Mascott:

Ariados @ Focus Sash
Ability: Insomnia
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Sticky Web
- Lunge
- Sucker Punch / Poison Jab
- Toxic Thread / Toxic Spikes

Ariados attracts several beginners thanks to its access to Sticky Web, its average bulk, its correct attack, and its well-provided movepool. However, Ariados has a mediocre typing and Speed, letting it lose against most leads and hazard removers.

Shuckle @ Leftovers
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Impish Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shell Smash
- Infestation
- Toxic
- Rest

Shuckle looks at first glance like a very potent defensive sweeper due to its massive bulk and ability to boost it further thanks to Contrary Shell Smash. However it is easly shut down by Taunt and has mediocre offensive presence preventing it from breaking through walls such as Bronzor and Pyukumuku, as well as being set up fodder for Substitute users such as Floatzel and Rampardos.

Pikachu @ Light Ball
Ability: Static
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Extreme Speed
- Volt Tackle
- Knock Off
- Volt Switch

Pikachu has the strongest Extreme Speed in the ZU tier as well as one of the strongest STAB move in Light Ball boosted Volt Tackle. However it is to slow as a glass cannon being outsped by the 95s base Speed and can't take any hit due to its mediocre bulk.

Leavanny @ Focus Sash
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Sticky Web
- Leaf Storm
- Knock Off
- Electroweb

Leavanny is probably of the best sticky user in the current metagame.
Its good movepool (support) allow it to annoy the opponent whit move like Knock off or Electroweb.
It can also deal damage to some popular lead like Sandslash whit leaf storm.
Moreover it has better stats than Ariados.

Electivire @ Choice Band / Choice Scarf / Life Orb / Z fight
Ability: Motor Drive
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Wild Charge
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake
- Volt Switch
(or cross chop if you run the z fight set)

Well as long as Electivire exists you have no reasons to use Pikachu. Electivire just surpasse pikachu everywhere.
Better movepool. Better stats.
Where Pikachu needs to be used whit its light ball you can run a tons of Electivire set which allow it to surprise the opponent.
Whit its movepool it can manage to deal whit the most part of the meta. (depending on the mu)
Here I presented a physical based set but thanks to its good special attack you can also use move like Flamethrower (to pass over Abomasnow or Avalugg).

(for set 1 and 3)

Smeargle @ Focus Sash
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sticky Web
- Spore
- Nuzzle
- Toxic Spikes / Spikes / Stealth Rock / Magic Coat

Smeargle outdoes Ariados as a Sticky Web lead thanks to the variety of tricks it can pull with its diverse movepool. Spore puts slower Pokémon out of commission to create free turns for Smeargle or a partner. Nuzzle is not blocked by Taunt, and gives Smeargle an option to break and opposing lead's Focus Sash, slow down potential sweepers, and impede the efforts of anything that avoids Spore. Smeargle's last slot is a toss up of whether you wanted Ariados' Toxic Spikes, (which aren't particularly viable thanks to the presence of absorbers and removers like Swanna, Komala, Mareanie, and Altaria), Stealth Rock, or Spikes. Magic Coat is personally preferable because it gives Smeargle a way to deal with Taunt users and can deflect opposing leads' hazards, which Ariados cannot do.

172219

Muk @ Leftovers
Ability: Sticky Hold
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Poison Jab
- Curse
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Muk upstages Shuckle as a defensive sweeper with its immunity to Poisoning, greater HP stat, and offensive options. Muk isn't complete Taunt bait by faster Pokémon, and it isn't shut down by Poison types' natural immunity to Toxic (though it still does struggle with Steel types if you don't run Fire Punch). Muk's ability to actually attack the opponent makes it a much more solid, slowly, bulky, setup Pokémon than Shuckle. Muk can rely on teammates with Magnet Pull to more consistently deal with threats that wall it, or it can choose to run coverage to deal with them itself.

172221

Abomasnow @ Life Orb
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Wood Hammer
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard

Pikachu follows in Abomasnow's footsteps as a Pokémon that can double as both a breaker and cleaner. While Abomasnow is notably slower than Pikachu, its workable natural bulk gives it a few opportunities to actually come in on attacks that aren't Electivire's Volt Switch. Swords Dance in tandem with Ice Shard makes Abomasnow a threatening sweeper at the end of a match with its powerful priority. Alternatively, it can wreak havoc against slower teams, and can run Grassium Z as an alternative to strike down some would-be walls. Abomasnow also has the advantage of being less predictable than Pikachu, and less reliant on its item to consistently deal damage. Abomasnow is something that few Pokémon enjoy switching in on its combination of Grass/Ice STAB and Earthquake for coverage, while Pikachu struggles to do anything if the omnipresent Golem is still lurking.

Masquerain @ Focus Sash
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sticky Web
- Quiver Dance
- Air Slash
- Hydro Pump

In contrary to Ariados, Masquerain can beat most of the leads thanks to Hydro Pump, dealing at least neutral damages on most hazard setters. Moreover, thanks to Quiver Dance, Masquerain can keep a great offensive presence, preventing most hazard removers from removing Sticky Web against Masquerain. Also, despite its quad-weakness to Stealth Rock, Masquerain keeps a decent defensive utility thanks to its ability Intimidate.

Vigoroth @ Eviolite
Ability: Vital Spirit
EVs: 252 HP / 164 SpD / 92 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Bulk Up
- Facade
- Slack Off
- Taunt

Unlike Shell Smash Shuckle, Vigoroth can break through defensive teams after several boosts. Moreover, it isn't weak to Taunt due to its Speed and can be threatening before boosting being able to 2HKO Pokemon such as Pinsir and Floatzel. It also has access to reliable recovery in Slack Off.

Shiftry @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naughty Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off
- Leaf Storm
- Swords Dance

Shiftry has a stronger priority than Pikachu:
252 Atk Light Ball Lightning Rod Pikachu Extreme Speed vs. 0 HP / 0- Def Abomasnow: 144-170 (44.8 - 52.9%) -- 28.1% chance to 2HKO
252+ Atk Life Orb Chlorophyll Shiftry Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 0- Def Abomasnow: 192-227 (59.8 - 70.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Moreover it has the bulk to come on more hits and only few Pokemon wants to switch into its powerfull Knock Off unlike Pikachu's Volt Tackle on which can can send your Vire / Golem.
Shiftry also has access to a Swords Dance which lets it having a easier time cleaning than Pikachu.

Slate 7: Sudowoodo

Set 1: Lead

Sudowoodo @ Custap Berry
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Serious Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Head Smash
- Wood Hammer
- Explosion

Set 2: Choice Band

Sudowoodo @ Choice Band
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Head Smash
- Wood Hammer
- Sucker Punch
- Fire Punch / Earthquake

Set 3: Rock Polish

Sudowoodo @ Rockium Z
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Rock Polish
- Head Smash
- Wood Hammer
- Fire Punch / Earthquake

Sudowoodo while having a wide movepool and two good abilities, suffers from its low stats and mono-typing. In fact, you'd better use one of the other ZU Rock-type than Sudowoodo due to them having better stats and/or better typing.

(set 2)
Rampardos @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Head Smash / stone edge
- Fire Blast
- Superpower
- Zen Headbutt

Rampardos while being super stylish is also a very good user of choice band thanks to its attack.
Superpower + Head Smash + Zen Headbutt allow it to inflict super effective damage or neutral damage to the biggest part of the meta. Fire Blast is here to deal whit grass type which are a pain for Rampardos.

(I realized afterwards that Crustle was maybe not the best choice but let's try)

Crustle @ Rockium Z
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Shell Smash
- X-Scissor
- Stone Edge

Well, even if Crustle is rather used as suicide lead whit stealth rock, à set giving it a third spot for an attack is really interesting. That allow it to expand its offensive coverage and do not be totally walled by mon like Gourgeist.
I am pretty sure Shell Smash is much more interesting than Rock Polish for Crustle because of Sturdy.

Reserving Lead Carbink (Set 1), CB Komala (Set 2), and Z-Me First Pinsir (Set 3)

174230

Carbink @ Mental Herb
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def
Nature: Relaxed
- Stealth Rock
- Trick Room
- Magic Coat
- Explosion

A ZU dual-type Rock lead that has Sturdy and Explosion? That's right! It's Golem Carbink! Carbink is a great dedicated lead for Trick Room teams, pairing better with choices such as Wishiwashi or Beheeyem thanks to its ability to provide momentum for the team. Though its speed is also low, Carbink can run a Mental Herb to make Taunt users think twice or waste their turn. Magic Coat provides the same benefit, with the addition of shutting down opposing leads that may try to set hazards or Taunt. Carbink's other leg (gem?) up on other dedicated leads is its substantially less terrible special bulk, giving it more breathing room to set up. Though Carbink isn't the premier rocker of the ZU tier, it has a definite niche carved out that can give slower teammates a chance to shine, while Sudowoodo fails to differentiate itself from other Sturdy Rockers.

174229

Komala @ Choice Band
Ability: Comatose
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Nature: Jolly / Adamant
- Return
- Earthquake / Superpower
- Knock Off / Sucker Punch
- U-Turn

While Sudowoodo seems alluring due to its ability to fire off powerful STAB Head Smash attacks without drawback, its pitiful Speed, average Attack, somewhat shaky accuracy, and low PP disable Sudowoodo from being a consistent Choice attacker. Enter Choice Band Komala, which has the option to switch in on defensive choices like Bronzor and begin wreaking havoc. While Return isn't as powerful as Head Smash, it is notably more consistent, and Komala doesn't have to run as much coverage in order to compensate for what Return can and cannot hit. Knock Off is a beautiful addition that makes everything but Gourgeist-Super and Silvally forms hesitate. U-Turn is another bonus that can help Komala maintain momentum, which Sudowoodo cannot provide.

174228

Pinsir @ Normalium Z
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Nature: Adamant
- Me First
- X-Scissor
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

Pinsir is the better option to use as a monotype setup sweeper. Moxie gives it a way to snowball and boost its attack after picking up a KO. Along with that, Pinsir hits a far better Speed tier than Sudowoodo, outpacing every Choice Scarf user save for Floatzel. Pinsir's greater Attack stat is another huge boon for it, and the consistent accuracy of its STAB is a secondary aid that helps to prevent a sweep from being shut down by a miss at a critical moment.

Relicanth @ Custap Berry
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Head Smash
- Earthquake
- Waterfall

Ok maybe your looking for something fresh and new outside of the typical Custap Berry Golem, but if thats the case you can do better than Sudowoodo. Lead Golems will always out speed you and activate their Berries before you. Enter Relicanth. Its higher speed means your Custap Berry will activate before Golems. Waterfall gives you a 20% chance to flinch Golem, meaning your opponent has to waste his berry on Stealth Rocks or breaking your sturdy. Overall Relicanth provides far more in being a suicide lead than Sudowoodo in almost every category.

Granbull @ Choice Band
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 2 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Earthquake
- Close Combat
- Fire Punch / Crunch

If you were thinking about using Banded Sudowoodo, I assume you wanted a powerful breaker with decent coverage. If thats the case then try out banded Granbull. It has better defensive typing while providing your whole team Intimidate support. Granbull also has a higher base Attack and and Speed than Woodo.

Lycanroc-Midnight @ Lycanium Z / Life Orb
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Rock Polish
- Iron Tail
- Crunch

Lycan does everything Polish Woodo does better. It has a custom Z-Move, has better Attack and speed. Has a 100% accurate Stab Move. It can run Adamant for even more power and so on. Not to mention Lycan only needs a single Rock Polish to be faster than the whole tier, including scarf Rapidash.

Crustle @ Custap Berry
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Spikes
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- Knock Off / Earthquake

Crustle is a better Suicide Lead than Sudowoodo due to its access to Spikes and an higher Speed allowing it to outspeed Golem. While Crustle doesn't have access Wood Hammer and Head Smash, Crustle has access to Knock Off allowing it to beat Bronzor and has stronger Earthquake to hit Mawile.

Relicanth @ Shuca Berry / Rock Incense
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Head Smash
- Waterfall
- Stealth Rock
- Zen Headbutt / Toxic

Relicanth despite having a lower Attack stat than Sudowoodo is far better. Indeed Relicanth has an higher Speed allowing it to outspeed Golem, Marowak and Mawile. Also it has access to STAB Waterfall which is better than Wood Hammer due to it hitting for neutral damages Steel-types that would want switch into Relicanth. But what makes Reli far better than Sudowoodo is especially its defensive utility. Unlike Sudowoodo, Relicanth is very bulky even without investment (100/130/65 in comparison to 70/115/65) and has less weakness due to its Water-type. That allows Relicanth to come more freely on the field to throw powerful Head Smashes.

Relicanth @ Rockium Z / Wacan Berry
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Rock Polish
- Head Smash
- Waterfall
- Zen Headbutt

Relicanth can afford to go Adamant due to its better Speed stat and therefore will hit harder than Sudoowodo. Also it has a secondary STAB move hitting Steel-types for Neutral damage and Ground-types for super effective, as well as Zen Headbutt hitting Fighting-types for super effective damages. It's also far bulkier than Sudowoodo which allows it not to get revenge killed by Scarf Swanna or Vire.

Golem @ Custap Berry/Weakness Policy
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Attack/ 252 Speed / 4 Defence
Adamant Nature
-Stealth Rock
-Eq
-Stone Edge
-Explosion/Sucker Punch

Golem has a better typing, better defensive stats, hits a lot harder and is faster than Sudo. They even run similar moves, which means golem does everything sudo does but better.

Golem @ Choice Band
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Attack/ 252 Speed / 4 Defence
Adamant Nature
-Eq
-Fire Punch
-Stone Edge
-Explosion/Sucker Punch

I love banded Golem, and since I don't wanna repeat myself ill show a couple of calcs instead.
252+ Atk Choice Band Golem Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 80 Def Silvally-Fighting: 244-288 (61.9 - 73%) -- guaranteed 2HKO.
252+ Atk Choice Band Sudowoodo Head Smash vs. 252 HP / 80 Def Silvally-Fighting: 161-190 (40.8 - 48.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO(hardest hitting move against fightvally).
During calcing I realised that golem is better against fighting types like Machoke/silv fight. Hits gourg and bronz similarly, so didn't find any fancy calcs lol.

Slate 8: this time the Butterfly the hardest to find (Honey trees were a bad mechanics): Mothim

Set1: Quiver Dance

Mothim (M) @ Buginium Z
Ability: Tinted Lens
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Quiver Dance
- Bug Buzz
- Air Slash
- Shadow Ball / Psychic

Set 2: Physical Wallbreaker

Mothim (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Tinted Lens
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- U-turn
- Aerial Ace
- Lunge
- Energy Ball

Set 3: Special Wallbreaker

Mothim (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Tinted Lens
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Bug Buzz
- Air Slash
- Shadow Ball / Psychic
- U-turn

Mothim has access to one of the best ability in the game in Tinted Lens as well as rather high offensive stats for ZU with 94 base Attack and Special Attack. Mothim can also pivot on its check thanks to its access to STAB U-turn and can set up with one of the best set up move in the game in Quiver Dance. However Mothim is very slow so even at +1 in Speed it gets outspeed by every scarfer. Moreover due to its trash defensive typing leaving it quad weak to Stealth Rock and due to its low defensive stats, Mothim almost never gets an opportunity to come in the field. Furthermore, its STAB moves aren't very powerful and have mediocre typing letting it struggle to break through walls.

Reserving Quiver Dance Butterfree (Set 1), Choice Band Ninjask (Set 2), and Choice Specs Chatot (Set 3)

Set 1: Quiver Dance
175341

Butterfree @ Buginium Z
Ability: Tinted Lens
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Quiver Dance
- Bug Buzz
- Sleep Powder
- Substitute

Butterfree can take advantage of Tinted Lens and pair it more effectively with Quiver Dance than Mothim. Sleep Powder enables Butterfree to generate the free turns needed to set up Quiver Dance and actually start doing some damage. Though they have the same terrible typing defensively, rolling well on sleep turns is what differentiates Butterfree and makes it a potent, if delicate, Bug/Flying setup sweeper.

Set 2: Physical Wallbreaker
175340

Ninjask @ Choice Band
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- U-turn
- Aerial Ace
- Leech Life
- Night Slash / Facade

Same verse as the first with Ninjask sharing the terrible Bug/Flying typing, but Ninjask specializes in the role of fast physical Bug/Flying wallbreaker much more with its incredible Speed Boost ability. With naturally high speed, Ninjask can afford to run an Adamant nature and still outspeed a good majority of the unboosted (and even boosted) metagame. Leech Life gives Ninjask a great STAB recovery move if it isn't clicking U-Turn. In comparison, Mothim suffers with its barely even mediocre speed stat, which allows Ninjask to figuratively and literally keep up better with the threats in the ZU metagame. If you've got a niche itch to use a Bug/Flying physical breaker (for some reason), Ninjask is a better fit for the role.

Set 3: Special Wallbreaker
175342

Chatot @ Choice Specs
Ability: Tangled Feet
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Boomburst
- Chatter / Hidden Power Water
- Heat Wave
- U-turn

Though not Bug type nor able to take advantage of Tinted Lens, Chatot fits the bill of flimsy part Flying special Choice wallbreaker with a destructive STAB. There's little need for Tinted Lens when Boomburst hits for so much damage. Chatot can also run U-Turn, and while it can't take advantage of STAB boost on the move, Chatot is noticeably faster than Mothim, which works to its benefit when wallbreaking. Chatot's coverage for its Normal typing is also done through Heat Wave, and options like Chatter, HP Water, or HP Fighting. Mothim's inability to use a powerful Bug STAB move is what makes Chatot a much better pick as a frail special attacker that can pivot with U-Turn.

Bellossom @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Quiver Dance
- Sleep Powder
- Moonblast
- Giga Drain

Bellossom is probably the best user of Quiver Dance in the tier. And what I really like whit this mon is its access to several moves supports (sleep powder m, strength sap...) and its decent offensive movepool which allow it to bother opponent and sweep teams.

-I'm honestly not really sure for this one but let's try
Pinsir @ Choice Band
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- X-Scissor
- Brick Break

Band Pinsir is a mon who I think can fit well in many teambuild. As a strong Wallbreaker in offense (on this case you should run it whit moxie) or as a late game cleaner in more stallish team. (especially semi-stall)
Then its large offensive movepool allow it to deal whit the most part of the meta.

Another twist set
Rotom-Fan @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Air Slash
- Trick
- Thunderbolt

Thabks to its decent special attack rotom fan is a good user of choice specs. Electric type has a really good offensive coverage in ZU and allow rotom to pivots on many defensive mons while doing correct damage which can be really usefull vs offense. Thunderbolt is the strong stabb which is here to deal a large amount of damage. Air Slash is here for the coverage (and the haxx) and truck can be p interesting against stall.
