Diancie @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Def
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Diamond Storm
- Body Press
- Trick Room
- Protect
A fresh arrival from the Crown Tundra DLC, Diancie quickly rocked the Doubles OU metagame as it emerged to be one of its most dangerous attackers. Not only does Diancie possess notably high bulk, but it also has a standout move in Diamond Storm, a strong spread STAB attack with great neutral coverage that also allows Diancie to snowball the opposing team with its Defense boosts. In combination with the rest of its kit—a coverage move that feeds off the Defense boosts in Body Press, an ability that lets it ignore Intimidate, and a way to remove its only functional weakness in Trick Room—Diancie is a threat that can take over games. Still, Diancie has a notable weakness in its natural Speed, which makes it quite the slow starter. Moreover, while Diancie does have the defenses to capably take attacks, relying on them too much leaves it simply worn down and vulnerable, open to being pinned and unable to do anything meaningful.
