Gen 4 dpp ou hail test with needed help i need help please help

hi

i wanna do gen 4 stall with hail. mister big ole tree lead, walrein fat larding it up, etc. but i also wanted to add in something that seemingly .. does not exist ... in gen 4. which is a blizzard clicker, like kyurem in gen 5! i really like kyurem as a lategame carry in gen 5 hail teams, even if they are a lil janky/bad. but i dont know who clicks blizzard like that. is it weavile? i've been using lapras because ... lmao. i like her.

anyways, heres my team.

!!! DISCLAIMER : I AM SOOO BAD AT TEAMBUILDING. I JUST STARTED AND ITS SO FUN. BUT IF ANYTHING LOOKS CONFOUNDING/DUMB/NO CONGRUENT LMK AND I CHANGE. I WANNA LET IT SNOWWW !!!!

Abamasnow. (snow setter)
CODENAME: Ski Lift.
Quote: "Where's the blow, baby?"

yeah.. hes da big cheddar. he comes out and makes shit cold REAL QUICK. but this is just the bog standard set, but i changed the full send into attack to some into def, ... for what? to live a fighting move? will he? i need help with EVs. in that i don't totally understand them. im the prototypical pokemon girlie that just grinds super hard to remove the already nonexistent difficulty in every mainline game, so this EV/IV stuff is NEWS TO ME! haha. but isnt this chungus more of a utility mon? and won't his stabs just hit threats hard anyways? i feel like wood hammer is gonna kill whatever bulky water/ground type turbo. but i need help. what do you think should be his true role in the current metagame? does he step up to common leads like azelf? feels like he gets SHAT ON by infernape, but is good into the hippo don? hmmm... guide me here. because he is kinda the big guy in the team, he gets shit going.

Walrein (staller spcl wall)
CODENAME: Eating Disorder. Or, "None Like It Hot!"
FAVORITE QUOTE: "This has truly been .. an inconvenient truth."
1734713755122.png
so. am i making a UU team right now? could this strategy be viable in the high powered, wild west metagame of Over Used? what with the paraspam, confusion, flinching, FUN? does it take too long to get off the ground? what im wondering is, is there a way to accelerate this strategy to get to a good gamestate to chill on the ice body leftovers sub pretty consistently? or is it for the birds? destined to get giga swagged on by the fighting stab in the tier? or ELECTROCUTED? am i asking too many questions? do you know when my dad is coming back with the milk and cigarettes, or did he go to gamble my allowance on the rapidashes again?

so it's pretty bog standard, sub protect and then two stab moves. should i throw in a toxic? or maybe i could put in toxic spikes alongside rocks and spikes, then get something to remove the spinner FAST. the strat kinda struggles into all the shit pokemon leave into the floor, as it takes a lot of residual damage from it. it's pumped into defense and HP, making this walrus a (trigger warning: i'm going to say big chungus): big chungus. when i play walrus, i picture myself like engineer tf2, lawn chair out, feet kicked up next to the sentry turret. i'm at work, pressing protect while walrus heals his HP back to full. (peter griffin from family guy voice) epic. i really wish he had suction cups .. that would be epic! also highkey i might give it roar!

MACHAMP (machamp)
CODENAME: Smogon Hate Me

BOG. STANDARD. I JUST LOVE WHAT HE PROVIDES TO A TEAM. he gets hit by hail though, and it might be hard to get the BIG BOY out there to start clicking his favorite move. he also has prio. perhaps ice punch should be replaced to another move, maybe a coverage for something else. psychic? in my brain, a lot of my team is special attackers, so having a no nonsense meat and potatoes pokemon that can't miss and confuses everytime and punches your favorite pokemon in the face and is noncompetitive fits in quite well. but does he really? please, lets work on this.

FORRTRESS (hazard spinner boomer)
CODENAME: El Rapido
FAVORITE QUOTE: My main goal is to (set spikes, clear hazards, click payback and occasionally explode) AND ACT LIKE I DONT KNOW NOBODYY
1734714192640.png
this team desperately needs a spinner that i must protect because aside from ROAR, i'm not sure if anything feels worse for this team then the amount of shit pokemon leave on the floor, with explosion hopefully being to tradey trade with the opposing shit putter onner OR a threat. pretty average wall, gets hit by some fighting type moves right? i like him. not much else to be said. (jim cool voice) folks, that pussy got me acting abhorrent.

ROTOM HEAT! (safe switch in, hits you good)
CODENAME: "Waking Bake"
Favorite Quote: "I'm at your BM's house slow cooking brisket!"

1734716329142.png
SO this is my temp answer to the CHUNGUS fighting types that fuck my team up and down and spin it around and make my team do tricks on it. I really like this mon for the switch in, HP flying fighting types and willow wisping mons, lighting them on fire an impressive 70% of the time(thats probability!). I wish it learned volt switch, why doesnt it? ugh. i need a stealth rocker on my team too, but rotom heat's main role is to provide some breathing room to my ice types and deal with them pesky fighters and normal types, leaving the dragon and bird types to the ice types and the steel types to the macho macho macho man macheezy.

OKAY. GIMME SOME LEEWAY HERE ... HERES WHERE IT GETS FUGLY.

WEAVILE (physical attacker)
CODENAME: Nothing Personnel .. Kid
FAVORITE QUOTE: "Fuck that hoe chien pao!"
(this would be frosslass btw if smogon didnt hate fun. and women.)
1734717414499.png
a physical big hitter with a sprinkle of spcl attack do unleash poggers blizzards onto unsuspecting creatures that it hits super or neutral on. make sense? it got priority, is a little fragile and can night slash which is sweet. i wish there was a way i could pivot into it, or get it on the scene safe so it doesnt take any chip/residual damage, because then it seeems like it COULD GET instagibbed super quick by some neutral. god forbid i switch it into a fighting move like a moron. weavile is one of my favorite pokemon and i think it can provide a true ice attacking role that walrus really doesnt fill, that abamasnow probably wouldn't fill either.

SO. i obviously need help, since this team is kind've all over the place, redundant and kind've loses the plot at some points. i tried really hard to pull it together but some of my ideas are just straight up not cohesive with other parts. i read the smogon article on blizzard but wanted to really see if there could really be a cut out niche for this slow lil fun strategy in the current ou game, especially maybe when all this nonsense like jirachi and macheezy gets out of the tier!! im quite interested, what can i add? maybe tentacruel? hmmm ...

THANKS SO MUCHHHHHHH

Hi,
Nothing better than a hail kit for Christmas. To be honest, it's always a challenge, as they are teams with many weaknesses and difficult to play, although this one looks fun.

Well, for my part I can't contribute much, but I hope I can help. Hm, as I was saying, the team shows a lot of weakness to fire (no resistance) and fight type. So, I was thinking of a pokemon that supports hail teams very well.... Tentacruel > Forretress. It covers the mentioned weaknesses + steel and bug. Also, you can play with TSpikes + tect leech Aboma + tect Walrein. You can also absorb own tspikes with each input. I leave his set here.
073.png

Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 244 HP / 100 Def / 164 SpD
Calm Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Surf
- Toxic Spikes
- Sludge Bomb / Knock Off

It may have a mediocre SpA, but you can maintain some control against things like Infernape. Depending on its version, it can be 2hko / 1 if it's Naive nature. I can't think of a better cast than this one provided by the Forum Dex. As another option, you can add 32 EVs in speed to beat ttar full speed. Also, if you are worried about spinblocks like Rotom, with 68 EVs in SpA + SR damage, you eliminate defensive Rotom from 2 Surf. BSludge seems to me a better option over Leftovers to not be so vulnerable to those Trick users. This way, they don't benefit much.

I have another proposal, but it might be more delicate than the previous one... Seeing that you don't have anything with the most famous move in the game.... I had thought of Bronzong > Weavile. And it's a shame, because with him you can eliminate Latias, Gengar, Starmie. Of course, with Blizzard I don't think it's worth much, since it has a very poor base SpA. In fact, I would tell you to add Blizzard to Walrein, for example. Besides, it doesn't make much sense to have 349 speed. You are one point slower than Gengar or Latias. The normal would be 216 for if you want to beat Alakazam (you never know) or full speed itself. But as I said, if you have to sacrifice something, and seeing the team above, I prefer Weavile. Besides, Bronzong fits very well here. It has several resistances and with Levitate it covers Tentacruel's Ground weakness, apart from Psychic. I leave his tank set provided by the Forum, but if you decide to try it, you can invest the EVs as you like or need the team (+Def/+SpD).
437.png

Bronzong @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SpD
IVs: 0 Spe
Sassy Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Gyro Ball / Protect
- Earthquake / Protect

Bronzong is one of the most profitable SR users and, as I said, I think it works well here. Protect is a good alternative, since you carry Toxic and it can be an annoying combo for the opponent. The problem is sacrificing your Gyro Ball stab or an interesting cover like EQ. That's why I've left it as a separate option.

I don't know if you noticed, but by taking Machamp you make this hail team look different, which is what you're looking for. I like it, because you have to keep away a very present threat like ttar. It has a very similar function to Hariyama, another option vs ttar.

Well, this change isn't like the previous ones.... I was simply thinking of a Restalk + Leftovers > LBerry set. This way, you can last longer. And this way, you don't get bothered as much by hail + status hits after LBerry activates. There is no set in the Dex, it just comes up in the 'other options' section, but I guess similar to the Bronzonc EVs.

Another minor change. I've never seen Rotom with HP Flying... Does it really work? In any case it can surprise loom, for example. I almost see better a Scarf set with Overheat. I think this team needs something with speed control, I don't know. You can value it if you want.
479h.png

Rotom-Heat @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Overheat
- Shadow Ball
- Trick

Within this set, if you wish, you have other options that are a little more defensive, such as the following: 108 HP / 164 SpA / 236 Spe. With this, you can fit DD Gyara's Waterfall + SR damage, in addition to still outperforming Agility Modest Empo. Trick can help not only benefit you, you can also disable things like Clefable, which can be a problem and is a very common change.

I insist, they are very complicated teams... Both to play them and to build something decent. And this team is, it just needed some changes. I hope I have contributed and helped a little, that's enough for me.

Hm, I can think of more isolated things, like Scarf Heatran or something with Whirl/Roar (I think it's also primordial) if you want to play with Toxic + tect and SR + TSpikes. Skarmory/Latias? There's a lot of diversity/variety. There may even be the option of Roar Walrein, but I'm not sure.

thank you so much!!! i used the two earlier today and their purpose was def more immediate/easier to use on the surface which i really liked.
