[DQ] Wildfire Plateau (Hard) - Flamestrike and Its_A_Random

A heated wind blows on these scorched cliffs and peaks. No matter where you turn your eyes, nothing you can see past barren rocks, burnt by the cruel sun. Natural bridges consisting of rock tongues suspended over impressive canyons and gulches allow you to get from a cliff to another one. As you walk carefully on one of the cliffs, you suddendly glance a violent spout of boiling vapor breaking through a fissure above your heads. Nevertheless, you keep going until one of the rock bridges bring you at the base of the plateau.

Thin cracks scatter through the ground like webs enveloping the whole sandy surface. There seems to be several higher platforms on the plateau, which you can reach through natural paths. As you are heading towards one of them, though, your eye gets caught by some runes inscribed in a wall of rock. You wonder what they mean, but all of a sudden you glance over a writing in common language, scratched below some of the runes. Ten thousand years of slumber, sealed away in..., and then the writing becomes unreadable. In the end, you decide to continue your walk, as what you seek probably lies at the top of the plateau.

After some more minutes of marching under the incessant drought, you finally arrive on the higher echelons of the plateau. Much to your surprise, an intense verdant light shines under your eyes. Soft blades of grass cover the entire area, despite the rock seems to be way too hard and dry for any kind of life to grow on. While you behold this magnificent meadow, something suddendly draws your attention. A strange bug, similar to a sort of larva, is crawling in the grass, near the center of the meadow. Another local form of life, maybe? You approach it carefully, but then the insect turns fiercely towards you and charges!

"Oh boy an overgrown worm. So scary."

Utilitand: Gravity > Stone Edge (Larvesta)

King Odin: [Toggle Sheer Force ON] Rock Slide > Stone Edge (Larvesta, Glyph)

Predator: Sky Attack (Larvesta) > Stone Edge (Larvesta)

Grandstone: Stone Edge (Larvesta) > Rock Slide

I guess the plan is that we try to get threat on Regirock as soon as possible and set up? I guess Safeguard will come in handy on the main damage dealers here since they will not want to be burned but I guess we should try and see Larvesta off as soon as possible?

"It's been a long time since we've been here, but it looks like the danger is worse than ever. Time to clear this place out once and for all!"

Shellstrike: Rock Slide -> Stone Edge (Larvesta)
Mindstrike: Safeguard (Grandstone, Predator, Boulderstrike) -> Stone Edge (Larvesta)
Boulderstrike: (MEGA EVOLVE) Rock Slide -> Stone Edge (Larvesta)
Paleostrike: Ancient Power (Larvesta) -> Paleo Wave (Larvesta)

All: If Larvesta is KOed when you would act chill instead

Its_A_Random a few notes about actions, for one I assume the reasoning behind having everyone launch their weaker attacks first is so that Regirock has an easier time getting threat, but Nidoking gets slightly better damage using Stone Edge instead of Glyphed EQ, even with the Gauntlets (keep in mind that Larvesta is neutral to Ground). Secondly, while I doubt it'll happen it's theoretically possible we ORKO the Larvesta in which case we might want "if KO chill" subs. Thirdly, and most importantly, we probably want Safeguard on Archeops before it uses Sky Attack, not after, so I propose having Gallade use it A1 (Lightning Stone extends the duration as well so it works out even better) and then they can both attack A2 (or Gallade can use Light Screen if you think we really need it ASAP).

zarator if you could give us a day or two to confirm what we're doing it would be greatly appreciated ^_^

Round 1

Hindered by the intensified gravity, the foe is unable to dodge the team's Rock-type assaults, but Larvesta proves to be tougher than expected and survives the onslaught. Nevertheless, his payback barely Paleostrike.

"This will be pretty trivial..."

Utilitand: Chill > Chill

King Odin: Smack Down (Larvesta) > Rock Slide

Predator: Wing Attack (Larvesta) > Pluck (Larvesta)

Grandstone: Smack Down (Larvesta) > Rock Slide

Just pepper the Larvesta with economical attacks and it will go down. Light Screen might come in handy.

Flamestrike is DQed. I get 6 UCs for the reffing. IAR will be able to re-challenge the Raid Zone whenever he wishes so but Flamestrike will have to wait until Oct 2nd.
