[Overview]

Dragalge is both a great support Pokemon and a potent wallbreaker in NU. Its defensive typing lets it easily switch into foes like Vileplume, Arcanine, and Rotom-C, generating free turns for it to throw off powerful Draco Meteors or simply pivot with Flip Turn. Furthermore, because Dragalge is so great at drawing in Steel-types, it has fantastic synergy with common wallbreakers like Sirfetch'd and Machamp that love free opportunities to switch in against such foes. Despite being a task to defensively answer, though, Dragalge is left vulnerable to faster foes like Flygon, Tyrantrum, and Starmie due to its poor Speed. Additionally, its reliance on Black Sludge for recovery and subpar physical bulk make it a poor answer to Fighting-types like Mienshao and Sirfetch'd despite its resistance to Close Combat.

Flip Turn lets Dragalge keep up momentum against Steel-types that switch into it. Scald threatens Steel-types such as Copperajah, Bronzong, and Escavalier with a burn, but Focus Blast is a workable alternative that nets more immediate damage onto Copperajah. Heavy-Duty Boots lets Dragalge pivot more freely without worry of repeated entry hazard damage. Alternatively, Black Sludge helps Dragalge repeatedly switch into weak, resisted attacks from the likes of Vileplume and Talonflame, although the immunity to hazard damage is usually preferred. The listed Speed EVs allow Dragalge to outspeed uninvested Sylveon.

Since Dragalge commonly draws in Steel-types like Copperajah and Bronzong, it pairs great with Fighting-types like Sirfetch'd, Machamp, and Mienshao that appreciate being brought in against such foes via Flip Turn. In a similar vein, Dragalge's strong Draco Meteor can force significant damage onto Steel-types over the course of a battle; teammates like Calm Mind Cresselia and Nasty Plot Celebi benefit from this. Dragalge is very prone to losing its item via Vileplume's Corrosive Gas and Golisopod's Knock Off, so Wish Sylveon makes up for that loss in longevity. Rotom-C is very problematic for Water-types like Gastrodon; Dragalge can easily wall it and is a solid Trick deterrent when running Black Sludge. Offensive Ground-types can easily KO Dragalge, so teammates like Rotom-C and Decidueye are ideal. Sylveon complements Dragalge well, forming a good defensive core capable of taking on Fighting-types. Similarly, Steel-types like Bronzong, Copperajah, and Escavalier are good defensive teammates; the former covers all of Dragalge's weaknesses, while the latter two threaten opposing Psychic- and Steel-types. In return, Dragalge checks Fire-types.

Toxic Spikes can be used instead of a fourth attacking move to punish teams lacking a grounded Poison-type. Choice Specs sets pack immense power but lack the longevity a typical utility set provides. Protect in tandem with Black Sludge bolsters Dragalge's passive recovery and helps it scout faster Choice item users like Flygon, Golurk, and Tyrantrum. RestTalk sets worry less about losing their item to Vileplume's Corrosive Gas, greatly boosting Dragalge's longevity at the cost of team utility.

Checks and Counters

**Steel-types**: Steel-types like Copperajah, Bronzong, and Escavalier are the most consistent defensive answers to Dragalge, and they aren't even affected by Toxic Spikes. However, they must be mindful of their HP because they lack reliable recovery, and they easily cede momentum to Dragalge if it uses Flip Turn as they switch in.

**Special Walls**: Mantine is capable of stomaching a Draco Meteor and recovering off the damage with Roost, while Cresselia can set up in Dragalge's face and heal with Moonlight. However, they're heavily pressured to use their recovery moves after stomaching a Draco Meteor.

**Psychic-types**: Starmie, Indeedee-F, and Celebi are all faster than Dragalge and can easily revenge kill it with their STAB Psychic-type attacks. Furthermore, Galarian Articuno can set up against Dragalge with Calm Mind if it has just used Draco Meteor.

**Revenge Killers**: Faster foes like Tyrantrum, Flygon, and Goodra can easily revenge kill Dragalge with minimal or no chip damage necessary.

Dragalge is both a great support Pokemon and a potent wallbreaker in NU. Its defensive typing lets it easily switch into foes like Vileplume, Talonflame Arcanine (BB on Talonflame isn't unheard of and dents Drag, and Arcanine is a safer example with similar relevancy), and Rotom-C, generating free turns for it to throw off powerful Draco Meteors, set Toxic Spikes, or simply pivot with Flip Turn. Furthermore, because Dragalge is so great at drawing in Steel-types, it has fantastic synergy with common wallbreakers like Bewear and Pangoro that love free switch-in opportunities against such foes. Despite being a task to defensively answer, though, Dragalge's poor Speed leaves it vulnerable to faster foes like Flygon, Tyrantrum, and Galarian Articuno Starmie (G-cuno isn't that relevant, and Psyshock Starmie shows how Dragalge may fail as a Water resist) . Additionally, its reliance on Black Sludge for recovery and subpar physical bulk make it a poor answer to Fighting-types like Mienshao and Pangoro despite its resistance to Close Combat.

Flip Turn prevents Steel-types like Copperajah and Bronzong from freely switching into Dragalge. Toxic Spikes can wear down foes like Sylveon, Goodra, and Gastrodon, but Focus Blast is a workable alternative that nets more immediate damage onto Copperajah. Black Sludge helps Dragalge repeatedly switch into weak, resisted attacks from the likes of Vileplume and Talonflame. Alternatively, Heavy-Duty Boots lets Dragalge pivot more freely without worry of repeated entry hazards damage, although the passive recovery is almost always preferred. The listed Speed EVs allow Dragalge to outspeed uninvested Sylveon.

Since Dragalge commonly draws in Steel-types like Copperajah and Bronzong, it pairs great with Fighting-types like Bewear, Pangoro, and Mienshao that appreciate being brought in against such foes via Flip Turn. In a similar vein, Dragalge's strong Draco Meteor can force significant damage onto Steel-types over the course of a battle; teammates like Calm Mind Cresselia and Nasty Plot Celebi benefit from this. Dragalge is very prone to losing its only source of recovery via Vileplume's Corrosive Gas and Golisopod's Knock Off, so Wish Sylveon is very helpful to keep it healthy after the fact (Drag sometimes finds switch-ins against Goli when anticipating First Impression / Liquidation, and Knock Off is a concern that fits here as well). Rotom-C is very problematic for Water-types like Gastrodon; Dragalge can easily wall it and is a solid Trick deterrent thanks to its Black Sludge. (Mention teammates that check offensive Ground-types like Flygon and Golurk)

Sludge Bomb is chosen over Sludge Wave because despite the latter's power increase, it doesn't have any notable damage rolls that the former lacks. Although Dragalge's Adaptability-boosted Draco Meteor is hard to punish, (Fluff) Flip Turn lets it keep up momentum against potential switch-ins such as Copperajah, Bronzong, and Escavalier. Focus Blast targets solely Copperajah and more niche Steel-types like Silvally-Steel.

Dragalge's strong Draco Meteors are great at forcing heavy damage onto Steel-types throughout the course of a game. Therefore, late-game sweepers like Calm Mind Cresselia, Nasty Plot Celebi, and Calm Mind Galarian Articuno are solid partners. However, Dragalge's Flip Turn makes teammates that can take advantage of Steel-types, such as Pangoro, Bewear, and Mienshao, ideal too. Bulky Water-types like Mantine and Gastrodon benefit from Dragalge's ability to switch into and beat Electric- and Grass-types such as Rotom-C and Vileplume (these last four points are the same points from the previous set, with almost all of the same examples. I get that there's some overlap between the two, but specs drag requires different support with offensive pivots like Mienshao or Rotom-C to bring it in on Vileplume or Guzzlord to break, or how defensive pivots like Arcanine work as switch-ins so Dragalge isn't revenge killed by faster revenge killers like Bewear. I'll leave it up to you but 1-2 of these prior points should be more relevant and unique to the wallbreaking set). Fairy-types like Diancie and Sylveon can easily switch into Dragalge once it locks into Draco Meteor, so Steel-types such as Copperajah and Bronzong are helpful to have.

However, they are prone to being quickly overwhelmed by Choice Specs Dragalge, as they must always immediately use their recovery moves after stomaching a Draco Meteor.

**Psychic-types**: Starmie, Indeedee-F, and Galarian Articuno Celebi (relevancy) are all faster than Dragalge and can easily revenge kill it with their STAB Psychic-type attacks. Furthermore, Galarian Articuno can set up against Dragalge with Calm Mind if it has just used Draco Meteor.

QC 1/2! Really well written, mostly had small examples changed for relevancy. Also, most of the points in the teammate section for the specs sets are the same as the utility set, so I recommended changing a couple of those to better tailor its role as a wallbreaker + diversity in tips.

Steel-types have good synergy with Dragalge; Brongzong has good defensive synergy with Dragalge, covering all its weaknesses, Escavalier/Copperajah threaten opposing Psychic- and Steel-types. In return Dragalge switches into Fire-type attacks.

Flip Turn prevents lets Dragalge take advantage of Steel-types like Copperajah and Bronzong from freely switching into Dragalge that switch into it.
