[OVERVIEW]

Flying
========
Multiscale allows Dragonite to tank most unboosted hits from full health, and Heavy-Duty Boots keeps it from getting chipped by Stealth Rock; this endurance makes Dragonite a fearsome setup sweeper. Extreme Speed allows it to revenge kill faster offensive threats to Flying-type teams, such as Alolan Raichu and Kingdra. Flying-type teams also appreciate its part-Dragon typing, which gives it many notable resistances, including Water and Fire against Pokemon such as Urshifu-R, Volcarona, and Victini. It also gives a neutrality to Electric. However, Dragonite has very limited opportunities to safely switch into the field due to the risk of breaking Multiscale. It is susceptible to status conditions such as burn and poison, which easily break Multiscale. Dragonite also struggles with breaking through walls such as Slowbro, Galarian Weezing, and Galarian Corsola, as they can threaten to burn it.

[SET]
name: Offensive Dragon Dance (Flying)
move 1: Dragon Dance
move 2: Outrage
move 3: Extreme Speed
move 4: Earthquake / Fire Punch
item: Heavy-Duty Boots
ability: Multiscale
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Dragon Dance makes Dragonite both a setup sweeper and a late-game cleaner. Outrage is the best Dragon-type STAB move available to Dragonite, and it can comfortably 2HKO walls such as Slowbro and Hippowdon after a Dragon Dance boost. Extreme Speed gives Dragonite the only priority available on Flying teams, and it can be used to clean up chipped or frail threats such as Alolan Raichu. Earthquake is primarily used to hit Electric-types, such as Tapu Koko and Zeraora, and Pokemon that resist or are immune to Dragon such as Heatran, Jirachi, and Azumarill, as well as hitting targets like Tyranitar and Toxapex super effectively. Fire Punch can be used in lieu of Earthquake to deal with Ferrothorn and Celesteela, since they otherwise completely wall Dragonite. Heavy-Duty Boots makes Dragonite immune to Stealth Rock, allowing it to preserve Multiscale reliably. Thanks to its Jolly nature, it outspeeds several threats such as Tapu Koko, Spectrier, Zeraora, and Dragapult after just one Dragon Dance boost.

Celesteela, Corviknight, and Skarmory can sponge super effective Ice-, Dragon-, Rock-, and Fairy-type attacks for Dragonite with ease. Celesteela notably takes on threatening Fairy-types such as Tapu Lele, Clefable, and Mimikyu. Corviknight and Skarmory take on Ice-types such as Kyurem and Weavile, respectively. Corviknight is also able to safely bring in Dragonite with U-turn, while Skarmory can provide Spikes support. Landorus-T helps greatly in the Electric matchup, is able to set Stealth Rock, and can provide Knock Off support. Tornadus-T can use Knock Off too, and it can also use Taunt and then pivot into Dragonite. Thundurus-T is a complementary setup sweeper to Dragonite, since it can deal with foes such as Tapu Fini, but it can also act as a reliable revenge killer and great offensive pivot when equipped with a Choice Scarf. Zapdos can Pressure stall and reliably pivot to eventually put bulkier foes such as Slowking in a weakened position. Choice Specs Zapdos and Dragonite deal with each other's threats well. Galarian Moltres aids greatly in matchups like Psychic, Ghost, and Steel, while Galarian Zapdos helps immensely in matchups such as Steel, Dark, and Ice.

Flying
--------
Choice Band is an alternative set that gives immediate power; however, this leaves Dragonite and Multiscale susceptible to Stealth Rock. Roost over Extreme Speed or a coverage move is another plausible set, but the trade results in less damage output and potency overall. An Adamant nature can be opted for on sets that utilize Fire Punch over Earthquake, as outspeeding Tapu Koko after a Dragon Dance boost is no longer necessary.

Checks and Counters
===================

Flying
--------
**Status**: Dragonite is susceptible to being burned or poisoned, since the former halves its Attack and both break its Multiscale, making it harder to set up. Paralysis also harms it greatly, leaving it unable to outspeed many threats after a boost and more easily revenge killed.

**Sand and Hail**: Both sand and hail immediately and automatically break Multiscale.

**Physically Defensive Walls**: Dragonite has a hard time breaking through physically defensive Pokemon such as Galarian Weezing and Galarian Corsola, even after Dragon Dance boosts.

**Knock Off**: As Dragonite heavily relies on Heavy-Duty Boots to ameliorate its weakness to Stealth Rock, Knock Off heavily cripples it.

[OVERVIEW]

Flying
========

* Thanks to Heavy-Duty Boots, Dragonite does not have to worry about entry hazards, making it a fearsome setup sweeper with Dragon Dance as long as it's ability Multiscale is preserved.
* Multiscale allows Dragonite to tank practically any unboosted hit from full health. [Tie in this line with the first one, you can start with something like 'Thanks to multiscale that allows it to tank any unboosted hit from full health and HDB as item that prevents it from getting chipped by Stealth Rock, Dragonite performs the role of a threatening setup sweeper that can break apart unprepared teams']
* Dragonite's access to priority Extreme Speed allows it to clean up frail offensive threats to Flying-type teams, such as Alolan Raichu or Zygarde-10%.
* Flying-type teams also appreciate it's Dragon typing, which gives it many notable resistances to Urshifu-Rapid-Strike, Volcarona and Victini, which it can take advantage of by setting up on them with Dragon Dance.
* Despite being immune to Stealth Rocks by using Heavy-Duty Boots, Dragonite is susceptible to other forms of chip damage, such as being burned or poisoned, which break Multiscale, lessening its effectiveness to tank hits.
* Add a point how it struggles against walls prior to setup and that it is reliant on setting up as some Pokemon like Urshifu-S can tank what it throws unboosted and beat it. You can give some more such examples.

[SET]
name: Set-up Sweeper (Flying)
move 1: Dragon Dance
move 2: Outrage
move 3: Extreme Speed
move 4: Earthquake / Fire Punch
item: Heavy-Duty Boots
ability: Multiscale
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
*With Dragon Dance boosting it's Attack and Speed, Dragonite fulfills the roles of both a setup sweeper and cleaner. [This is very general information, add how DD lets it get past certain walls like Toxapex, Swampert etc.]
*Preserving its ability, Multiscale, would be optimal since Dragonite can survive any unboosted hit with it intact. [This should go after you are done explaining its moves]
*After just one boost, it outspeeds several threats such as Tapu Koko, Spectrier, Zeraora and Dragapult thanks to its Jolly Nature.
*Outrage is the best Dragon-type STAB available to Dragonite, and hits hard to every type that doesn't resist it. [and when boosted it can break walls like x and x, give examples of walls it can break when boosted]
*Extreme Speed gives Dragonite access to the only priority available on Flying teams, and can be used to clean up chipped or frail threats. [ Again giving examples here would be good even though you mentioned some targets in overview]
*Earthquake is good coverage for Pokemon that resist Dragon such as Heatran, Jirachi, Azumarill and Tyranitar, while also hitting Toxapex super effectively.
*Fire Punch would be used for hitting Ferrothorn and Celesteela super effectively since they are neutral or immune to Earthquake.
*Heavy-Duty Boots makes Dragonite immune to Stealth Rock.
*Maximum Attack and Speed ensures that Dragonite's output is at the maximum.

*Flying teams provide great support to Dragonite, letting it fulfill both of its roles with ease.
*Celesteela pairs well with Dragonite since it can absorb any Ice-type, Dragon-type, Rock-type or Fairy-type attack with ease, then set Leech Seed to recover itself. [ Talk how Celesteela can beat Fairy-type Pokemon like Clefable, Togekiss and Tapu Lele with Heavy Slam for Dragonite.]
*Landorus-T is another great partner since it is immune to Electric-type attacks and can set entry hazards that will ease Dragonite's role as a cleaner. [Mention SD landorus-T as a wallbreaker to beat shared checks, give examples of shared checks they beat]
*Tornadus-T acts as great utility for Dragonite since not only can it knock off opposing items, it can also Taunt then pivot into Dragonite which can put it in a really good position to set up at any point in the game.
*Thundurus-T is a complementary set-up sweeper to Dragonite since it can deal with foes such as Tapu Fini that it would have a harder time dealing with, but it can also act as reliable speed control and a great offensive pivot. Mention it beating Toxapex and other Steel-, Flying Pokemon, then talk about NP set breaking through walls for it]
*Zapdos fills the role as a Pressure staller and specially defensive pivot, which can eventually put bulkier foes such as Slowking and Blissey in a position [HOW?] that invites Dragonite onto the battlefield. Mention sub toxic set to wear down teams for dragonite sweep. Can also mention it spreading paralysis with Discharge.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Flying
--------
*Choice Band is an alternative set, however you are taking a great risk of breaking Multiscale due to entry hazards.
*Investing in Maximum HP over Attack, with Roost over Extreme Speed or a coverage move is another plausible set, but you are trading priority or important coverage for bulk and recovery, which equals less damage output and potency overall.

Checks and Counters

Flying
--------
**Status**: Dragonite is susceptible to being burned or poisoned, since the former halves its Attack and both break its Multiscale, making Dragonite harder to set up. Paralysis also does not fare well with Dragonite since it will not be able to outspeed the threats it normally does after a boost.

**Sandstorm & Hail**: Both are other forms of chip damage that can break Multiscale and decrease Dragonite's ability to tank a hit effectively.

**Ice-types**: Galarian Darmanitan particularly can OHKO Dragonite even if Multiscale is intact due to Gorilla Tactics boosting its Attack already. Alolan Ninetales can also be troublesome since it can set Hail and Aurora Veil, chipping Dragonite and boosting its team's defenses.

**Fairy-types**: They shrug off all of Dragonite's attacks and hit back hard. [Explain how dual screen support makes it more harder, give some examples of fairy types that can take on it easily]

[OVERVIEW]
"Dragonite also struggles with breaking through walls prior to setting up and some Pokemon such as Urshifu-S can break through an unboosted Dragonite with its STAB Surging Strikes." I'm assuming you were talking about Urshifu-R, since that's the form that carries Surging Strikes.
- mention a few physically defensive walls that Dragonite struggles to break through like slowbro, skarmory, galarian corsola, etc.

[SET COMMENTS]
"After just one boost, it outspeeds several threats such as Tapu Koko, Spectrier, Zeraora and Dragapult thanks to its Jolly Nature." put this at the bottom of the first paragraph after you explain Dragonite's moves
- explain being cautious when using outrage, as it leaves you locked into the move
- explain that you should avoid switching in on attacks in order to preserve dragonite's multiscale
*Maximum Attack and Speed ensures that Dragonite's output is at the maximum. remove maximum attack, since it doesn't add anything too useful. put the sentence about outspeeding threats with a jolly nature after a dragon dance boost here

*Celesteela pairs well with Dragonite since it can absorb any Ice-type, Dragon-type, Rock-type or Fairy-type attack with ease, then set Leech Seed to recover itself. It also takes on many threatening Fairy-types for Dragonite such as Tapu Lele, Clefable and Togekiss with Heavy Slam. togekiss can be replaced with better examples like alolan ninetales and mimikyu
- skarmory is a useful teammate as well to set spikes for dragonite and switch into physical attackers like weavile and terrakion better, which are usual threats to flying teams
- add mandibuzz as a teammate; it can deal with ghost-types that give dragonite trouble like dragapult, galarian corsola, and spectrier due to will-o-wisp.
- add that landorus-t can bring in dragonite safely with u-turn so it doesn't risk switching in to deactivate its multiscale
- mention that swords dance landorus-t weakening these walls can make it more easier for dragonite to sweep
- emphasize how tornadus-t removing items from foes with knock off is useful for dragonite, and that taunt can shut down specific walls for it by preventing recovery + status moves
- add bulky water-types that thundurus-t is able to beat for dragonite like swampert, slowbro, etc thanks to its excellent electric+grass coverage

[Other Options]

- explain why to use Choice Band on Dragonite (immediate power)

[Checks and Counters]

**Physically Defensive Walls**:

- specifically mention klefki's dual screens making it even harder for dragonite to sweep fairy teams

Thanks to Multiscale allowsing Dragonite to tank most unboosted hit from full health, and Heavy-Duty Boots keeping it from getting chipped by Stealth Rock, Dragonite is a fearsome set up sweeper that can break through unprepared teams.
- zygarde-10% is kinda rare, I would replace it with kingdra as an espeed target. reason I say kingdra>barraskewda is I feel like kingdra is more threatening to flying teams
- when you talk about its dragon typing, also mention that it gives dragonite a neutrality to electric attacks, also make it clear that you mean resists water and fire.
Multiscale allows Dragonite to act as a blanket check to a plethora of offensve threats while giving it multiple setup oppurtunities.
- this is repeated info from earlier in the paragraph
- even after setting up slowbro, galarian weezing, and galarian corsola still beat it, esp since they can all burn it

[set comments]
- earthquake is predominantly for beating electric teams, the other targets are good. you can keep the other examples though
- landorus-t also provides knock off support and can help it in the elec mu
- remove the part about defensive zapdos
- add galarian moltres as a teammate
- add galarian zapdos as a teammate

[other options]
Investing in Maximum HP over Attack, with Roost over Extreme Speed or a coverage move is another plausible set, but the trade of priority or important coverage for bulk and recovery, results in less damage output and potency overall.
- unless you can talk about a mu that is genuinely improved by max hp no atk dnite, I would take it out.
- remove substitute, it literally breaks multiscale. very unproductive.
- adamant is an option on dd fire punch sets, since its not trying to beat electric without eq

[checks and counters]
- add knock off, makes dragonite vulnerable to sr

Multiscale allows Dragonite to tank most unboosted hits from full health, and Heavy-Duty Boots keeping keeps it from getting chipped by Stealth Rock, Dragonite is Rock; this endurance makes Dragonite (I imagine this is what you were going for? if not, pls clarify) a fearsome set up sweeper that can break through unprepared teams. It also gives (I assume "Fire" was meant?) a neutrality to Electric-type attacks. However, Dragonite has very limited oppurtinities to safely switch-in to opportunities to safely switch into the field due to the risk of breaking Multiscale. Dragonite is also susceptible to status conditions such as being burned or poisoned, which break Multiscale, lessening its effectiveness to tank hits. Celesteela, Corviknight, and Skarmory can sponge super effective Ice-, Dragon-, Rock-, and Fairy-type attacks with ease. Celesteela notably takes on threatening Fairy-types for Dragonite such as Tapu Lele, Clefable, and Mimikyu. Corviknight and Skarmory take on Ice-types such as Kyurem and Weavile, respectively. Corviknight is also able to safely bring in Dragonite in with U-turn, (AC) while Skarmory can provide Spikes support. Landorus-T helps greatly in the Electric matchups, is able to set Stealth Rock, and can provide Knock Off support. Tornadus-T can Knock Off opposing items use Knock Off too, and it can also use Taunt and then pivot into Dragonite. Thundurus-T is a complementary setup (collapsed hyphen) sweeper to Dragonite, (AC) since it can deal with foes such as Tapu Fini that it would have a harder time dealing with, but it can also act as reliable speed control a reliable revenge killer and great offensive pivot when equipped with a Choice Scarf. Zapdos fills the role as a Pressure staller and specially defensive pivot, which can eventually put bulkier foes such as Slowking Zapdos can Pressure stall and reliably pivot to eventually put bulkier foes such as Slowking (I imagine this works? lmk if not though) in a weakened position. Choice Specs Zapdos complements Dragonite well and Dragonite deal with each other's threats well. Choice Band is an alternative set that gives immediate power; (comma -> semicolon) however, (AC) this leaves Dragonite and Multiscale susceptible to Stealth Rock. Roost over Extreme Speed or a coverage move is another plausible set, but the trade results in less damage output and potency overall. An Adamant nature can be opted for on sets that utilize Fire Punch over Earthquake, (AC) as the need to outspeed outspeeding Tapu Koko after a Dragon Dance boost is no longer necessary.

**Status**: Dragonite is susceptible to being burned or poisoned, since the former halves its Attack and both break its Multiscale, making Dragonite it harder to set up. Paralysis also does not fare well with Dragonite since it will not be able to outspeed the threats it normally does after a boost and is easier to be revenge killed. harms it greatly, leaving it unable to outspeed many threats after a boost and more easily revenge killed.

**Sandstorm & and Hail**: Both are other forms of chip damage that can break Multiscale and decrease Dragonite's ability to tank a hit effectively. sand and hail immediately and automatically break Multiscale.

**Physically Defensive Walls**: Dragonite has a hard time breaking through physically defensive Pokemon such as Galarian Weezing and Galarian Corsola, (AC) even after Dragon Dance boosts.

**Knock Off**: As Dragonite heavily relies on Heavy-Duty Boots to ameliorate its weakness to Stealth Rock, Knock Off heavily cripples Dragonite and leaves t vulnerable to Stealth Rock. it.

[OVERVIEW]

Flying
========

Earthquake is primarily used to hit Electric-types, such as Tapu Koko and Zeraora, and Pokemon that resist or are immune to Dragon such as Heatran, Jirachi, and Azumarill, while also as well as hitting targets like Tyranitar and Toxapex super effectively. Thank Thanks to its Jolly nature, it outspeeds several threats such as Tapu Koko, Spectrier, Zeraora, and Dragapult after just one Dragon Dance boost.
