Drampa (qc 0/2)

:ss/Drampa:

[OVERVIEW]
Drampa makes for an amazing wallbreaker thanks to its ridiculous special attack stat and access to potent coverage. Drampa bolsters strong STAB moves alongside threatening coverage such as Fire Blast and Energy Ball that leaves most of the tier helpless to switch into it. Its access to Sap Sipper and unique typing leaves Drampa more than able to combat Grass types in the tier such as Gourgeist, Trevenant, and Tangela. Additionally, Cloud Nine allows Drampa to threaten Gigalith as you are able to bypass Gigalith’s Sand Stream and leave it vulnerable to Energy Ball.

[SET COMMENTS]
Drampa’s ability to force out slow, bulkier Pokemon such as Palossand and Tangela is unmatched within the tier, and its coverage is imperative to its success. Fire Blast allows Drampa to hit Steel types it wouldn’t otherwise be able to combat such as specially defensive Togedemaru. Energy Ball in tandem with Cloud Nine allows you to take on Gigalith by removing a large portion of its special bulk, allowing you to 2HKO it. Good teammates for Drampa would be Pokemon such as Ribombee and Weezing, as they dismantle Fighting and Fairy types that Drampa is not comfortable taking on such as Scrafty and Silvally-Fairy respectively. Additionally, Tsareena and Charizard make for impeccable teammates as they can both alleviate hazard pressure off of Drampa. They also synergize well since Tsareena can easily pivot with U-turn, allowing Drampa to come in easily while Charizard can threaten specially defensive Pokemon with Toxic, allowing Drampa to wallbreak easier.

cy you still working on this? Also scl has shown a lot of non-choice Drampa success and we definitely want to add something for that, QC is talking about what to add now and I'll post when we have something nailed down. Just wanted to remind you about the analysis and see if you have any input there.

Drampa makes for an amazing wallbreaker thanks to its ridiculous special attack stat and access to potent coverage. Drampa bolsters strong STAB moves alongside threatening coverage such as Fire Blast and Energy Ball that leaves most of the tier helpless to switch into it (you can merge this sentence to the previous one and mention the coverage options and STAB there, while you can add another sentence about its typing and bulk giving it openings against mons like Gigalith and Charizard). Its access to Sap Sipper and unique typing leaves Drampa more than able to combat Grass types in the tier such as Gourgeist, Trevenant, and Tangela. Additionally, Cloud Nine allows Drampa to threaten Gigalith as you are able to bypass Gigalith’s Sand Stream and leave it vulnerable to Energy Ball (these two sentences can be rephrased/merged into one sentence just talking about each ability's advantages, and the order should be switched to match the analysis down below).

This overview is very lacking in terms of Drampa's downsides, such as its low Speed tier, weaknesses to common types like Fairy and Fighting, and the ability for Specs sets to be played around with Protect + an immunity/resist to each of its STAB moves or a midground option like Audino. I would add them to make this overview longer and not paint Drampa as a mon with zero flaws.

Fire Blast allows Drampa to hit Steel types it wouldn’t otherwise be able to combat such as specially defensive Togedemaru. Energy Ball in tandem with Cloud Nine allows you to take on Gigalith by removing a large portion of its special bulk, allowing you to 2HKO it (but Cloud Nine Draco Meteor already 2HKOs Gigalith, you might want to make this sentence about Carbink and mention Focus Blast for Audino). (what does the spread do?) Good teammates for Drampa would be Pokemon such as Ribombee and Weezing, as they dismantle Fighting and Fairy types that Drampa is not comfortable taking on such as Scrafty and Silvally-Fairy respectively. (I would mention defensive teammates that can switch into what threatens Drampa out, like Palossand coming in on Fighting-types and Ferroseed coming it on Fairy-types, and that their hazards support can help chip down Drampa switchins)
