[SET COMMENTS]
Swords Dance Drapion serves as a dangerous wallbreaker and sweeper, able to break through important walls and clean up weakened teams with ease. Decent bulk combined with a single weakness gives Drapion an advantage over other frailer sweepers, and its great Speed tier allows it to outspeed and threaten many defensive and offensive Pokemon. Knock Off and Poison Jab are strong STAB moves with great offensive coverage, allowing Drapion to break through walls like Bronzong and switch-ins to Knock Off like Virizion. Earthquake rounds out Drapion's coverage, letting it deal heavy damage to important Pokemon like Klefki, Gigalith, and opposing Drapion. Aqua Tail can be used over Earthquake for more damage on Ground-types like Rhydon and Silvally-Ground. A Jolly nature is used to outspeed other offensive threats like Indeedee-F and Toxicroak, which could otherwise threaten Drapion. Black Sludge gives Drapion passive recovery, as it will often switch in several times during a match to break walls and attempt to sweep. A Shuca Berry can be used to mitigate damage from Ground-type moves, allowing Drapion to 2HKO physical walls like Steelix and Rhydon without getting KOed back. Heavy-Duty Boots lets Drapion ignore entry hazard damage, letting it switch in more frequently.
Drapion fits best on teams that appreciate a bulky wallbreaker and benefit from Knock Off support. Ground-resistant switch-ins, such as Virizion and Golisopod, are important because Drapion will often be forced out by faster threats or defensive Pokemon it can't knock out. Drapion's lower special bulk is exploited by faster special attackers like Ninetales and Choice Scarf Gardevoir; teammates that can switch into strong special hits like Gigalith, Mantine, and Bronzong synergize well with it. Drapion struggles to break through sturdy physical walls like Rhydon and Steelix, so strong special attackers that prey on them such as Inteleon and Virizion can form a potent wallbreaking core with Drapion. Entry hazards synergize well with Drapion's Knock Off, so entry hazard setters like Klefki and Bronzong can help Drapion wear down opposing teams over time. Because Drapion resists Knock Off and doesn't depend on its item, it can be used as a switch-in to Knock Off for teammates like Golurk and Bronzong.

move 1: Knock Off

move 4: Aqua Tail / Toxic Spikes
item: Choice Scarf

nature: Adamant / Jolly

[SET COMMENTS]
Choice Scarf Drapion is an excellent revenge killer and endgame cleaner that can outspeed and take care of many dangerous Pokemon like Espeon and Indeedee-F. An excellent base 95 Speed paired with a Choice Scarf allows Drapion to outpace every unboosted Pokemon in the tier, even getting the jump on several prominent Choice Scarf users like Passimian and Goodra. Access to strong STAB options in Knock Off and Poison Jab allows Drapion to revenge kill fast Pokemon like Gardevoir, Espeon, and Virizion, while Earthquake allows it to revenge kill Pokemon like Salazzle, Toxicroak, and Swords Dance Drapion. The last moveslot is variable; Toxic Spikes is useful when anticipating a switch, while Aqua Tail deals more damage to Ground- and Fire- types, but both options are rather niche. An Adamant nature is preferred over Jolly, as the power boost is welcome and the only Choice Scarf users Drapion fails to outspeed are Indeedee-F and Rotom.
Choice Scarf Drapion's excellent Speed tier and power allow it to thrive on teams that struggle with faster Pokemon like Virizion, Heliolisk, and Choice Scarf Gardevoir. Pivots like Dragalge and Milotic synergize well with Drapion, giving it opportunities to safely switch in and threaten their checks like Espeon and Dhelmise. Ground-resistant Pokemon are important partners, as Drapion will often be forced to switch after it successfully revenge kills; Virizion, Bronzong, and Mantine fit this criteria and also appreciate Drapion's ability to remove threats to them such as Salazzle and Lycanroc. Drapion appreciates support from powerful wall breakers like Bewear and Indeedee-F to clean up late-game. Teammates like Mantine and Golisopod that can check Fighting-types are important, as Pokemon like Passimian, Bewear, and Scrafty can take advantage of Drapion being locked into Knock Off and use it as an opportunity to wallbreak.
