[OVERVIEW]

Druddigon's claim to fame is Mold Breaker Stealth Rock, which completely ignores Xatu's Magic Bounce and punishes opposing teams that rely on it to keep Stealth Rock off the field. Additionally, it's a great team disruptor with Dragon Tail and status moves and can soft check a plethora of foes, including Salazzle, offensive Talonflame, and Blastoise. It also enables other common Stealth Rock setters like Diancie and Copperajah to use other, more offensive sets. However, Druddigon struggles to be a consistent check to wallbreakers with STAB attacks it doesn't resist, such as Copperajah, Tauros, and Choice Specs Starmie, and its poor Speed means other wallbreakers like Choice Specs Sylveon and Exploud are seldom threatened by it.

Mold Breaker allows Druddigon to use Stealth Rock and other status moves in the face of Magic Bounce users like Xatu. However, Rough Skin, in conjunction with Rocky Helmet, is a viable option to punish contact attackers such as Copperajah and pivots like Talonflame, Ninjask, and Passimian. Dragon Tail lets Druddigon rack up Stealth Rock chip damage and phazes some setup users like Drapion and Braviary. Earthquake lets Druddigon hurt Steel-types like Copperajah and even Levitate Weezing when backed up by Mold Breaker. Glare and Toxic are both good status move options; Toxic in particular is a great move alongside Mold Breaker Earthquake. On Leftovers sets, Protect can be used over Dragon Tail to recover some extra HP and potentially rack up extra Toxic damage; it also lets Druddigon scout the moves of wallbreakers like Exploud. The given special bulk investment lets Druddigon tank attacks from +2 Salazzle and Blastoise, while the physical bulk investment is for foes like +2 Talonflame and Choice Band Sirfetch'd. Maximum Defense investment is an option that better handles Copperajah and Tauros, but Druddigon isn't guaranteed to avoid being 2HKOed by either, even with the increase in physical tankiness.

Mold Breaker Druddigon fits well on hazard-stacking teams that want to get Stealth Rock up without worrying about Xatu, so it accompanies Spikers like Garbodor and Froslass quite well. Physically defensive Pokemon like Mudsdale and Vileplume dislike Glare but otherwise wall Druddigon, so partners like Rotom-C and Life Orb Starmie are appreciated to take them on; Druddigon can pitch in to help these Pokemon using its resistances to Fire and Electric. Despite resisting their STAB moves, Druddigon is a poor answer to Water-types like Starmie and Blastoise as well as Salazzle; pair it with bulky Water-types like Vaporeon and Mantine to compensate for this. Druddigon is greatly threatened by Fairy- and Dragon-type attackers, so Steel-types like Assault Vest Copperajah and Doublade can be beneficial partners.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
====

Sheer Force sets make use of Druddigon's incredible coverage options and can help it lure in and remove Fairy-types like Diancie and Sylveon. However, Druddigon is very slow and reliant on prediction, (RC) unlike other wallbreakers like Exploud and Tyrantrum. Druddigon can run an offensive Stealth Rock lead set on hyper offense teams with a moveset of Stealth Rock / Outrage / Earthquake / Taunt.

Checks and Counters
====

**Special Wallbreakers**: Choice Specs Exploud and Dragalge outspeed Druddigon and threaten to OHKO it with their powerful STAB moves.

**Fairy-types**: Sylveon and Diancie care little about what Druddigon can do outside of Toxic; even then, they often run Heal Bell to remove poison.

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Ground-types like Mudsdale and Palossand wall most Druddigon sets without a problem but severely dislike Toxic. Vileplume can weaken Druddigon with Strength Sap and set up against it with Growth. Vaporeon can heal itself and its teammates of any status Druddigon inflicts with Heal Bell and cripple Druddigon with a Scald burn.

[OVERVIEW]

Druddigon is a highly versatile Pokemon, capable of running various sets with its diverse movepool and access to three great Abilities. Utility sets are uniquely able to use Stealth Rock and Glare in the face of Magic Bounce users like Xatu. Otherwise, Druddigon can function as a prickly physical wall, capable of tacking huge damage on attackers with Rough Skin and Rocky Helmet. Furthermore, access to Sheer Force and a great selection of coverage moves means that Druddigon can pull off alarmingly dangerous wallbreaker sets. However, Druddigon's low Speed and average bulk leaves it vulnerable to most opposing offense. In addition, Druddigon's viable STAB options are not particularly powerful, leaving it easily walled if it lacks the correct coverage move.

Mold Breaker allows Druddigon to use Stealth Rock and other status moves in the face of Magic Bounce users like Xatu. However, Rough Skin in conjunction with Rocky Helmet is a viable option to punish contact attackers such as Ninjask Copperajah and other U-turn users pivots like Talonflame, Ninjask, and Passimian. Dragon Tail is the preferred STAB option, letting lets Druddigon rack up extra hazard damage (You could consider including that it lets Druddigon phaze certain setup Pokemon; Drapion and offensive Bulk Up Braviary are the first two that come to mind.). Earthquake lets Druddigon hurt Steel-types like Copperajah and even Levitate Bronzong when backed up by Mold Breaker. On Leftovers sets, Protect can be used to offer extra recovery as well as scout the moves of opponents like Exploud. Druddigon can also opt to trade in another move for Glare, which is a useful speed control option that Ground-types can't dodge. (Redo this bit to adjust the moveset change. Earthquake is too hard to drop because a lot more Pokemon gain leverage against you if you do. Include a point about Protect still, but talk about it as an alternative to Dragon Tail and generally as a move alongside Toxic.)

Mold Breaker Druddigon fits well on hazard-stacking teams that want to get Stealth Rock up without worrying about Xatu, and can accompany Spikes users Spikers like Garbodor quite well. Rocky Helmet Druddigon does an excellent job of tacking chip on contact attackers like Ninjask, Tauros, and Talonflame, which can benefit Pokemon that rely on priority to sweep; Decidueye and Toxicroak are good examples. Physically defensive Pokemon like Mudsdale and Vaporeon Vileplume dislike Glare but otherwise wall Druddigon, so partners like Rotom-C and Life Orb Starmie are appreciated to take them on; Druddigon can pitch in to help these Pokemon using its resistances to Fire moves and Electric moves. Druddigon is greatly threatened by Fairy-type and Dragon-type attackers, so Steel-types like Assault Vest Copperajah and Heatproof Bronzong can be beneficial partners; they benefit greatly by having a different Pokemon run Stealth Rock in their stead.

[SET]
name: Wallbreaker
move 1: Scale Shot / Dragon Claw

move 3: Iron Head / Gunk Shot
move 4: Thunder Punch/ Rock Slide / (This feels really outclassed by Thunder Punch, especially given Arcanine is not very relevant as is.) Substitute
item: Life Orb
ability: Sheer Force
nature: Adamant
evs: 24 HP / 252 Atk / 232 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Scale Shot gives Druddigon a STAB option to use; with 232 Spe EVs, Druddigon can outspeed Pokemon like Timid Goodra and Jolly Braviary after a boost. Otherwise, Dragon Claw can be used for consistent Base Power against the likes of Guzzlord. Fire Punch will blast through Steel-types like Copperajah and Escavalier; Earthquake will also KO Copperajah while landing a 2HKO on Heatproof Bronzong. Iron Head and Gunk Shot are both effective moves against Fairy-type Pokemon; Iron Head will delete Diancie, while Gunk Shot will casually OHKO any Sylveon. Thunder Punch lands a clean 2HKO on Vaporeon and will demolish other Water-types like Mantine. Rock Slide is a great move to hit Flying-types and Fire-types; Rock Slide will destroy Talonflame regardless of a potential burn, and even Arcanine needs a significant amount of investment to avoid a 2HKO from Rock Slide even after Intimidate. Substitute can be used against certain passive targets and on anticipated switches to ease prediction and to protect Druddigon from status.

Offensive Druddigon is a very flexible pick that can choose its targets. If Druddigon lacks Earthquake, it will struggle against Heatproof Bronzong; Golurk and Dhelmise are both effective picks in such a matchup. In return, Druddigon with the appropriate coverage has a solid matchup against the Water-types and Fire-types that trouble the two respectively. Without a Scale Shot boost, Druddigon is easily threatened by faster special breakers like Sylveon and Exploud, so Pokemon that can sponge hits, like Copperajah and Diancie, are appreciated. Druddigon is also rather easily dispatched by strong physical attacks from the likes of Tauros, so physical blankets like Mudsdale are also beneficial partners. (Faster attackers in general threaten it; I don't think it's worth drawing specific attention to physical ones, especially since Druddigon handles them better than it does special attackers.) Mudsdale also happens to wall Druddigon itself walls Druddigon, so offensive Water-types or Grass-types like Starmie and Rotom-C make for effective backup. In return, Druddigon can use its extremely powerful coverage to wear down or punch holes in the opposition. (This is too vague to be worth keeping imo.)

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
====

Taunt can be used on Mold Breaker or Rough Skin sets to deny the recovery of certain physically defensive foes, such as Vaporeon or Vileplume, although the move faces stiff competition from Glare or coverage moves. Offensive Druddigon also has a rich movepool full of other options for it to use situationally. Sheer Force Crunch will 2HKO Bronzong regardless of its Ability, although most other targets will be hit better by other moves. Sucker Punch can prevent Druddigon from being checked by the likes of Ice Beam Starmie or other Psychic-types. Aqua Tail will take off half of Mudsdale's HP on the switch, when Mudsdale would otherwise wall Druddigon. Offensive Druddigon can forgo Dragon STAB moves and opt instead to rely on its ludicrous coverage, although this can backfire when Druddigon needs to attack the likes of Guzzlord. (Most of these seem really bad, and because Druddigon is barely ranked as is, I don't think this section should rival the overview in terms of length.)

Checks and Counters
====

**Special Wallbreakers**: Choice Specs Sylveon, Exploud, and Starmie will all outspeed Druddigon and threaten to OHKO it with their powerful STAB moves or coverage. The former two will struggle if Druddigon gets a Scale Shot boost, though.

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: While they have to watch out for Druddigon's coverage or Glare, physically defensive targets nonetheless can give it a hard time. Arcanine with full investment can avoid a 2HKO from Rock Slide any attack and retaliate with Will-O-Wisp. Mudsdale in particular will wall most Druddigon without a problem. (May as well throw in a mention of Palossand too; it's like Mudsdale but with recovery. Bronzong should also be put here in some capacity.)

(Because Sheer Force sets are situationally hard to wall, include a point about revenge killers here. Fast attackers are always a good means to keep slower wallbreakers in check.)

Moving SF to OOs; drudd is far more defined by MB rocks than breaking, esp given competition with CB Guzz, Goodra, etc. Include full Physdef as an OO spread to improve matchup vs copper / tauros.

Sheer Force Rock Slide will OHKO Talonflame even after a burn, and also nets a 2HKO on Arcanine after Intimidate. Crunch can land a 2HKO regardless of Bronzong's Ability.

**Revenge Killers** Sheer Force Druddigon, even with a Scale Shot boost, can be pressured rather easily by the STAB moves and coverage of many Pokemon, such as Tauros, Life Orb Starmie, and Salazzle.

Mold Breaker Druddigon fits well on hazard-stacking teams that want to get Stealth Rock up without worrying about Xatu and, (AC) so it accompanies Spikers like Garbodor quite well.

Other Options

Sheer Force sets make use of Druddigon's incredible coverage options and can help it lure in and remove Fairy-types like Diancie and Sylveon. However, Druddigon is very slow and reliant on prediction, (RC) unlike other wallbreakers like Exploud and Tyrantrum. Druddigon can run an offensive Stealth Rock lead set on hyper offense teams with a moveset of Stealth Rock / Outrage / Earthquake / Taunt.

Checks and Counters
====
