Gen 6 Echoes - An ORAS Hackmons Balanced Offence Team

Hello I'm dramlamb (aka The Move Reminder) and this is my first RMT. Typically I am very reluctant to share entire teams but I have decided to share one of my favorite teams with you with the goal of improving the ORAS Hackmons resources. Like many teams from ORAS or BW2 hackmons, this team is built around the goal of setting up a Mold Breaker to sweep the opposing team. This tends to be the most consistent and effective way of dealing with opposing Wonder Guard pokemon. Typically this is best achieved if you are able to bring the Mold Breaker in with a timing that makes it most troublesome for your opponent to deal with. In order to accomplish this, the team utilizes a variety of pivot moves. It is also potentially able to pass the Mold Breaker a Substitute, which can be very helpful in setting up. The drawbacks to setting up a Mold Breaker are that it can leave you vulnerable to Imposter and Prankster. This team takes some steps to help mitigate this risk, but there are no silver bullets in hackmons. With all that in mind let’s meet the team.

:rayquaza-mega: :wobbuffet: :diancie: :gengar-mega: :beedrill-mega: :arceus-dark:

:xy/rayquaza-mega:
Altar of Victory (Rayquaza-Mega) @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 208 Atk / 48 SpA / 252 Spe
Rash Nature
- Substitute
- Copycat
- Encore
- Baton Pass

This is one of the most versatile and potentially dangerous sets on the entire team. Its primary purpose is to pass substitutes to Arceus, but it can do a lot more than that. Encore allows you to thwart opposing pokemon from continuing to set up by locking them into a move that is useless and allows you to continue to set up while they are forced to hard switch to get out of the encore. One obvious example is if an opposing pokemon uses Shell Smash or Substitute you can lock them onto that move, essentially making their set up useless. What's more you can even use Copycat to steal the Shell Smash for yourself while they are forced to switch. But that isn't the only way you can use Copycat, it can also be used against to copy a pivot moved used by Wobbuffet or Beedrill in order to continue to pivot around and confound their attempts to gain superior positioning or to revenge kill an opposing sweeper by using their own attack against them at +1 priority.

:xy/wobbuffet:
Good Old Terminus (Wobbuffet) @ Leftovers
Ability: Wonder Guard
EVs: 248 HP / 96 Def / 164 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Wish
- Spiky Shield
- Parting Shot
- U-turn

This set is the slow pivot and forms half of the team's Wonder Guard core. Wish can be used to heal Wobbuffet in conjunction with Spiky Shield, or to heal anyone else on the them after you slow pivot with U-turn or Parting Shot. Spikey Sheild is nice because it can allow you to spot a potentionally devastating super effective Huge Power move and then hopefully be able to bring in the right pokemon to either sacrifice or wall it. The reason for needing 2 different pivot moves is that one of them is useless against Magic Bounce while the other is useless against most Wonder Guards. The variety of Pivot moves can also be useful if Rayquaza is going to be used to Copycat one of them.

:xy/gengar-mega:
You Are Mortal (Gengar-Mega) @ Gengarite
Ability: Shadow Tag
EVs: 248 HP / 10 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Encore
- Spikes
- Recover
- Perish Song

This is an extremely well-known set that gengars have been using in hackmons since all the way back to it's HGSS days. It doesn't need too much explanation. The idea is bascially to trap an opposing pokemon and lock them into a fighting, normal, poison, or set up move and then set spikes, use Perish Song, and leave before they song ends. With all the pivot moves on the rest of the team this is a great way to be able to punish a pokemon for using certain moves and lay down a thick layer of entry hazards in the process. This is also the teams method for dealing with the possibility of Imposter Chansey copying your Mold Breaker set. All of Arceus’s attacks are normal type moves unless Chansey is holding a Spooky Plate, so this set can be used to prevent her from countersweeping your team.

:xy/diancie: :xy/diancie-mega:
Concordia (Diancie) @ Diancite
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 248 HP / 60 Def / 200 SpD
Impish Nature
- Pursuit
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
- Whirlwind

This is by far the most unorthodox of all the sets. The idea is to use Mold Breaker to bypass their Magic Bouncer and get Stealth Rock's set up. Whirlwind can also be used in the same way to bypass their Magic Bounce. Potentially this set can save you from devastating sweeps or can be used to wear down opposing teams by shuffling them over your entry hazards. Slack Off gives the set survivability and the Mega Stone allow you to change from being a Mold Breaker to being a Magic Bouncer if your specific situation makes that ability more useful to your team. Pursuit can be used to finish off or chip down opposing Wonder Guards if you are still in your base Mold Breaker form. Changing to your Bounce form increases it's attack power but lowers your defences and gives up the ability to hit Wonder Guards and Whirlwind or set rocks on Bouncers, so be sure to only transform if you're willing to give up those assets.

:xy/beedrill-mega:
The Arian Heracy (Beedrill-Mega) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Wonder Guard
EVs: 252 Atk / 6 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Magic Coat
- Defog
- Heal Bell
- U-turn

This is the fast pivot and the other half of the team's Wonder Guard core. It has the potential to rack up massive amounts of damage with its U-turns and provides the clerical roles of removing entry hazards and status conditions though the use of Defog and Heal Bell. Magic Coat tends to be an extremely useful Wonder Guard move as it allows you to block the status moves that opponents are often forced to use due to your immunity to most direct attacks. Magic Coat is particularly useful here because unless Diancie has mega evolved, it is your only means of bouncing moves like Dark Void or Stealth Rock. Beedrill's poison typing is also useful in allowing it to pick up Toxic Spikes.

:xy/arceus-dark:
Optimus Maximus (Arceus-Dark) @ Spooky Plate
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 SpA / 6 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Boomburst
- Judgment
- Dark Void
- Shell Smash

Arceus isn't the pokemon most teams look to as their Mold Breaker sweeper. Often people tend to reject it in favor of pokemon with higher base attack stats, but this is a mistake. Access to STAB Boomburst and it's fantastic 120/120/120 defences makes it a force to be reckoned with both offensively and defensively, even after a Shell Smash. Boomburst is your main attack and allows you to bypass Substitutes and it's outrageous 140 base power more than makes up for arcues's less flashy attack stats. Dark Void can be used to give you the opportunity to set up a Shell Smash, or to put a Prankster to sleep after it uses Haze or Destiny Bond. Since this this the team's main attacker it is important to try to preserve it, so don't feel obligated to keep it in if you think it might be revenge killed. You can usually pass it a Wish later and start the sweep again.

Thanks for reading and I hope you like the team ^^

Why not use Baton Pass on Wobbuffet and compress both pivoting moves into one slot that always works, thus freeing up a move slot for something like Gastro Acid? Are you that scared of Imprison? Beedrill-Mega can't prevent that Impostered Wobb set from pivoting for long.
