And so, with Short Fuse taken out, Dogfish44 decides to send in an odd choice for a Pokemon: Boltair the Emolga! I wonder what the Gym Leader is up to...Anyhow, Dogfish44 gives Boltair the Magnet, as we look at Boltair's stats.

Onyx, on the other hand, is recovering from his combo, as Boltair takes advantage to siphon some of here life force into a stuffed doll! The doll takes Boltair's place, as Onyx suddenly repeats her massive ground detonation! This was not what Kaxtar wanted, as the doll manages to avoid the attack with little trouble! Ouch...Onyx's encore ends, as Boltair makes fun of Onyx over the combo misfire, enraging Onyx, who cannot do anything but recharge.
With the round done, it seems almost certain that Onyx is going to collapse. How can Kaxtar save Onyx from the inevitable? We will find out soon enough.

Boltair begins by throwing up a Protective Barrier, which allows her to block a biting manoeuvre from Onyx, who targeted Boltair's stuffed doll, but the attack was quite powerful, as it forced Boltair to expend quite a bit of energy on the attack. Boltair then continues to stall by taking a break, as Onyx then attacks the stuffed doll in a U-Formation, striking & getting ready to get back in. The final action of the round proves to be a carbon copy of the first, as Boltair blocks another biting manoeuvre from Onyx with a forcefield. Strangely enough, though, Onyx somehow manages to escape the round with a teensy bit of energy left, as she suddenly went back into Kaxtar's Poke Ball!
Round done, & Kaxtar did a good job to get Onyx out of the battle alive, but what will Regice do to the pesky Boltair? We will find out next round...Surely...

Boltair then continues to cripple the opponent by firing a pulse of electricity at Regice, paralysing it with the wave, as Regice fires a wave of ice in Boltair's direction, striking & slowing her down. Boltair then thinks that she has had enough of the Regice, striking it in the style of an electrically-charged U, as Regice could do nothing but watch in response, its body locked into place by pulsating electricity.

"Nope, I switched in through Volt Switch - not a switch phase. Whilst a switch phase would allow you to counterswitch, volt switch does not. This would be similar to Emolga being KOed, the fact that I have sent in a replacement pokemon for a pokemon forced out does not constitute a switch phase. Please reorder."
Dogfish44 is correct. Remember when Hydreigon was U-Turned out the previous round - notice how Regice was sent in & Dogfish44 was never given the chance to switch in response. This is because U-Turn & Volt Switch do not initiate a switch phase.

Pulse begins by firing a fast, powerful ball of electricity at the Regice, which slams into Regice for a lot of damage! In response, the Regice simply fires a wave of electricity which paralyses Pulse! Pulse is not deterred, though, as it fires a powerful beam of electricity at Regice, which homes in & shocks the Regice, strengthening the paralysis levels in Regice's system! Regice simply grabs Pulse in response, & chucks it away, firing it straight into the dome wall for some damage, but cramping Regice's muscle a bit. Pulse then responds with a slower ball of electricity, which still hits Regice, but for less damage. Capping off the round, Regice focuses its energy into a ball of aura, before firing it at Pulse, striking for some hefty damage.
Round complete, & both sides have taken some hefty damage this round, but the battle is just tipping into the favour of the leader, despite a 1 point difference in total HP left on both sides. Can Kaxtar make a comeback? Or is that badly exhausted Onyx going to be the death of Kaxtar in the end? We shall find out soon enough.

I do not believe so. I also believe I should note that Protect + Chill as a combo, if legal, would still EN KO you:
