UU Entei (3/3 QC) (2/2 GP)

[OVERVIEW]

Sacred Fire, a nice Speed tier, and decent bulk all lend themselves to Entei's success in UU. Sacred Fire's burn chance is Entei's claim to fame, making it immensely frustrating for even Fire-resistant foes like Rhyperior and Salamence to switch into. Entei is able to outspeed many key threats in the metagame, like Nidoking, Gyarados, and Buzzwole. Good bulk alongside a pure Fire typing grants Entei a decent amount of defensive utility and makes it a short-term check to Pokemon such as Jirachi and Zarude. Entei's biggest drawbacks are its Stealth Rock weakness and lack of longevity, which is exacerbated by Flare Blitz recoil. Entei also struggles with various bulky Water-types in the tier, namely RestTalk Primarina and Rotom-W. It struggles during long games due to its low-PP moves and can be awkward to build around due to its demand for team support.

[SET COMMENTS]

Sacred Fire spreads burns and discourages Pokemon such as Gyarados and Kommo-o from switching in, but it has low PP and cannot be used liberally. Flare Blitz scores 2HKOs on Pokemon that Sacred Fire misses out on, such as Hatterene and Chansey. It also has perfect accuracy for cleaning. Stone Edge hits Mantine and Moltres, which would otherwise come in easily on Entei. It is also Entei's best way to hit Water-types such as Milotic and Azumarill. Extreme Speed is chosen to revenge kill faster threats such as Azelf and Choice Scarf Krookodile. Inner Focus ignores Intimidate from foes like Krookodile and Salamence.

Entry hazard removal is necessary for Entei to properly function as an early-game wallbreaker. Pokemon such as Salamence, Rotom-W, and Tentacruel are highly recommended; Rotom-W can also lure in Grass-types and pivot into Entei with Volt Switch. Grass-types such as Zarude and Amoonguss are also ideal partners, as they check bothersome Water- and Rock-types such as Primarina and Rhyperior and support Entei with U-turn and Spore, respectively. Since it struggles against Dragon-types like Kommo-o, Entei greatly appreciates Fairy-types like Hatterene and Azumarill; Hatterene can also dissuade Stealth Rock with Magic Bounce. RestTalk Primarina forms a solid defensive core with Entei and can take hits from opposing Rock-, Ground-, and Dragon-types when Entei is locked into Sacred Fire, and it's also able to pivot into foes such as Keldeo. Similarly, while Togekiss cannot deal with Rock-types, it can take on Dragon-types with ease, in addition to providing utility with Heal Bell and paralyzing Pokemon such as Nihilego and Lycanroc-D with Thunder Wave. Choice Scarf Jirachi, Raikou, and Lycanroc-D can revenge kill faster foes that threaten Entei, such as Keldeo, Azelf, and Mienshao.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Heavy-Duty Boots gives Entei more opportunities to switch in and lessens the need for entry hazard removal, but it stops Entei from breaking through Pokemon as efficiently. A set consisting of Substitute, Calm Mind, Protect, and Lava Plume with Leftovers and Pressure can act as a wincon for bulkier teams and stall out defensive Pokemon, but it suffers from a lack of setup opportunities and a Stealth Rock weakness.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Water-types**: Pokemon such as Keldeo, Seismitoad, and Rotom-W can come in on any of Entei's Fire-moves and proceed to OHKO it. Defensive Water-types such as Primarina and Mantine easily take hits from Entei and retaliate with Scald.

**Dragon-types**: Salamence can take any attack from Entei outside of Stone Edge and heavily damage it, while Zygarde-10% outspeeds and OHKOes Entei with Thousand Arrows; however, both Dragon-types do not appreciate a burn from Sacred Fire, and Salamence is OHKOed by Stone Edge. Physical Kommo-o is crippled by a burn from Sacred Fire but can switch into Entei and use it to set Stealth Rock or cripple it with Toxic, while Clangorous Soul Kommo-o uses Entei as setup fodder.

**Rock-types**: Rhyperior and Nihilego can force out Entei and set up entry hazards, while Lycanroc-D can revenge kill it. However, none of them appreciate a burn, and Nihilego and Lycanroc-D take large amounts of damage from Entei's attacks.

**Residual Damage**: Entei is easily worn down by Stealth Rock, Flare Blitz recoil, and status.

- A strong, risk-free move in the form of Sacred Fire, a nice speed tier, and decent bulk and defensive typing all lend itself to Entei's success in UU.
- Sacred Fire is Entei's claim to fame, as it has a hefty 50% chance to burn a target, making it immensely frustrating for even resists like Rhyperior and Salamence to switch into.
- Entei is able to outspeed many key threats in the metagame, like Nidoking, Gyarados, and Buzzwole.
- Base 115/85/75 bulk alongside a pure Fire-typing grants Entei a considerable amount of defensive utility and lets it act as a short-term check to Pokemon such as Jirachi and Zarude.
- Entei's biggest drawback is its Stealth Rock weakness and lack of longevity. This is exacerbated when using Flare Blitz often. add how all of its moves have low PP, making it struggle in the long term
-add how it has no real move to hit water-types, making it reliant on teammates to beat them

- Entei is very prediction-reliant, and cannot afford to make too many blunders during a game.
(this part feels contradictory, since you say earlier that sacred fire is a risk free move. The thing that makes entei so good is its ability to spam burns on the opponent with little risk.)
- Due to these issues, Entei can be awkward to build with thanks to its demand for team support.

- A set with Heavy-Duty Boots along with Toxic turns Entei into more of a status spreader that can clean up late game, but it lacks power and cannot break through Pokemon as efficiently.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Water-types**: Pokemon such as Keldeo, Barraskewda, and Rotom-W are able to easily come in on Sacred Fire and proceed to force out Entei. (the thing is no pokemon really wants to switch in on sacred fire because then you are getting burned, which really hinders the latter two. I'd just say that water-types like keldeo, barraskewda, and starmie can outspeed and OHKO entei.) Pelipper can effortlessly pivot into Entei and set rain, but it must watch out for Stone Edge. talk about defensive water-types like resttalk primarina and milotic here instead

**Dragon-types**: While they are annoyed by a burn from Sacred Fire, Salamence can take any attack from Entei and either hit it for heavy damage or use it as an opportunity to Defog away hazards, while Zygarde-10% outspeeds and OHKOs Entei with Thousand Arrows.

**Kommo-o**: Kommo-o fears nothing from Entei and can set Stealth Rock or use Toxic on it, while Clangorous Soul sets use it as setup fodder. (combine this point with the dragon-type point, kommo-o isn't too special to get its own point. defensive and physical sets also hate a burn)

add a point on rock-types like rhyperior, nihilego, and lycanroc-D

**Residual Damage**: Stealth Rock takes away 25% of Entei's health whenever it switches in, and when coupled with Flare Blitz's recoil damage and its vulnerability to status, Entei can be worn down easily.

Hazard removal is necessary for Entei to properly function as an early game wallbreaker. As such, Pokemon such as Salamence, Rotom-W, and Tentacruel are highly recommended. Rotom-W can also lure in Grass-types and pivot into Entei with Volt Switch. Grass-types such as Zarude and Amoonguss are also ideal partners, as they check bothersome Water- & Rock-types such as Primarina and Nihilego (Rhyperior would fit better here imo), and can support Entei with U-turn and Spore, respectively. As it struggles against Dragon-types like Kommo-o, Entei greatly appreciates Dragon-type checks like Hatterene and Azumarill. Hatterene can also dissuade Stealth Rock with Magic Bounce and forms a potent offensive core alongside Entei. Pokemon that can support Entei with entry hazards, like Krookodile, Roserade, and Jirachi, are able to wear down Entei's checks, making it easier for it to punch holes in the opposing team. RestTalk Primarina forms a solid defensive core with Entei and can take hits from opposing Rock-, Ground-, and Dragon-types when Entei is locked into Sacred Fire (keldeo is a really big reason for primarina being a good defensive partner so I would include it). Similarly, while Togekiss cannot deal with Rock-types, it can take on Ground- (this is shaky because a lot of our ground-types like Rhyperior, Nidoking, and Mamoswine are ones that togekiss doesn't like dealing with) and Dragon-types with ease and can provide utility with Thunder Wave & Heal Bell (maybe mention Nihilego and Lycanroc-D as examples because you bait those in to get paralyzed). Choice Scarf Jirachi, Raikou, and Lycanroc-D can all revenge kill faster threats that threaten Entei, such as Keldeo, Azelf, and Mienshao.

**Dragon-types**: While they are annoyed by a burn from Sacred Fire and Salamence is OHKO'd by Stone Edge, Dragon-types such as Salamence can take any attack from Entei and hit it from heavy damage while Zygarde-10% outspeeds and OHKOs Entei with Thousand Arrows. Kommo-o fears nothing from Entei and can set Stealth Rock or use Toxic on it, while Clangorous Soul sets use it as setup fodder.

**Rock-types**: Rhyperior & Nihilego can force out Entei and set up entry hazards, while Lycanroc-D uses it as setup fodder (Lycanroc-D's most common set is the all out offensive one, so just say it revenge kills Entei). However, none of them appreciate a burn, and Nihilego and Lycanroc-D take large amounts of damage from Entei's attacks.

**Residual Damage**: Stealth Rock takes away 25% of Entei's health whenever it switches in, and when coupled with Flare Blitz's recoil damage and its vulnerability to status, Entei can be worn down easily.

:ss/entei:
A strong, risk-free move in the form of Sacred Fire, a nice speed tier, and decent bulk and defensive typing all lend itself to Entei's success in UU. Sacred Fire is Entei's claim to fame, as it has a hefty 50% chance to burn a target, making it immensely frustrating for even resists like Rhyperior and Salamence to switch into. Entei is able to outspeed many key threats in the metagame, like Nidoking, Gyarados, and Buzzwole. Base 115/85/75 bulk alongside a pure Fire-typing grants Entei a considerable amount of defensive utility and lets it act as a short-term check to Pokemon such as Jirachi and Zarude. Entei's biggest drawback is its Stealth Rock weakness and lack of longetivity. This is exacerbated when using Flare Blitz often. Additionally, all of Entei's moves have low PP, making it struggle during long games. Due to these issues, Entei can be awkward to build with thanks to its demand for team support.

Paragraph 1
Sacred Fire is able to spread burns with ease, making it the ideal move to use most of the time. However, as it has low PP, it cannot be used liberally. Flare Blitz is used to score 2HKOs on Pokemon that Sacred Fire misses out on, such as Hatterene and Chansey. Stone Edge hits Salamence and Moltres, which would otherwise come in easily on Entei. It is also Entei's best way to hit Water-types such as Milotic and Azumarill. Extreme Speed is chosen to revenge kill faster threats, such as Azelf, Thundurus, and Choice Scarf Krookodile. Inner Focus is chosen to ignore Intimidate from the likes of Krookodile & Salamence.

Paragraph 2

A set with Heavy-Duty Boots gives Entei more opportunities to switch in and lessens the need for hazard removal, but it lacks power and cannot break through Pokemon as efficiently. A set consisting of Substitute, Calm Mind, Protect, and Lava Plume, with Leftovers and Pressure, can be act as a win condition for bulkier teams, although it suffers from a lack of setup opportunities and a Stealth Rock weakness.

:ss/entei:
A strong, risk-free I'm not sure risk-free is the right word here considering the move has imperfect accuracy. Adding something like 'with great utility' after 'Sacred Fire' in this sentence instead would be more accurate info that also communicates Entei's niche more adequately. move in the form of Sacred Fire, a nice speed tier, and decent bulk and defensive typing its typing is on the weaker side defensively so this part can be removed all lend itself to Entei's success in UU. Additionally, all of Entei's moves have low PP, making it struggle during long games. Paragraph 1
Sacred Fire is able to spread burns with ease, making it the ideal move to use most of the time add somewhere in this sentence that it can deter foes like Rhyperior/Gyarados/Seismitoad from switching in. However, as it has low PP, it cannot be used liberally. Flare Blitz is used to score 2HKOs on Pokemon that Sacred Fire misses out on, such as Hatterene and Chansey. Add another sentence here stating that Flare Blitz's accuracy can help Entei more reliably wallbreak late-game. Stone Edge hits Salamence replace Salamence with Mantine here since Mence needs to be specially offensive to switch in comfortably and Moltres, which would otherwise come in easily on Entei. It is also Entei's best way to hit Water-types such as Milotic and Azumarill. Extreme Speed is chosen to revenge kill faster threats, such as Azelf, Thundurus, and Choice Scarf Krookodile. RestTalk Primarina forms a solid defensive core with Entei and can take hits from opposing Rock-, Ground-, and Dragon-types when Entei is locked into Sacred Fire or facing Keldeo I've bolded this part because the phrasing here is a bit confusing. I think you should polish the wording up here to make your point more clear. Specify more specifically that it can pivot in on Keldeo. Similarly, while Togekiss cannot deal with Rock-types, it can take on Dragon-types with ease and can provide utility with Heal Bell and paralyzing Pokemon such as Nihilego & Lycanroc-D with Thunder Wave note not to use ampersands in analyses for future reference & Heal Bell. Choice Scarf Jirachi, Raikou, and Lycanroc-D can all revenge kill faster threats that threaten Entei, such as Keldeo, Azelf, and Mienshao.

Kommo-o fears nothing from Entei this isn't true as some sets are now physical. Change your phrasing by saying something along the lines of "Kommo-o fears a burn depend on its set, but can still pivot in on it" and can set Stealth Rock or use Toxic on it, while Clangorous Soul sets use it as setup fodder.
