Gengar (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Nature: Timid (+Spd, -Atk)
- Icy Wind

Icy wind Gengar is Lead for type coverage and to taunt lead pokemon that want to use hazards, inflict a status or boost their own stats

Forretress (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Nature: Careful (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Spikes
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin

Forretress is the first main entry hazard pokemon. Bulky and can take a few hits if it needs to. Can also spin away other hazards

Heatran (M) @ Shuca Berry
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 36 HP / 252 SAtk / 220 Spd
Nature: Mild (+SAtk, -Def)

Heatran is in the team for a bit of fire power. Can also roar to build up hazard damage

Omastar (M) @ Leftovers

Nature: Sassy (+SDef, -Spd)
- Spikes

Back up entry hazard user if Forretress dies. Once again bulky. Surf is just so Taunt doesn't shut it down

Infernape is a revenge killer and picks off the weakened pokemon

Even though this is my first RMT, and first team i've ever made, be brutally honest. Thanks :)

Oh my.

First off, add more descriptions. A lot more. Go and read other RMTs and get a better idea. There's being concise, and then there's being sparse. You're the latter.

Ok, Icy Wind on Gengar seems fairly silly. If you're looking for purely a coverage move, switch to HP Ice. If you're in it for the Speed drop too... Nah.

Forry would greatly enjoy not having 3 Hazard + Rapid Spin, since it makes him either a guaranteed sacrifice or something you have to switch out often. And in a world where everything runs a Fire coverage move for Scizor/Ferrothorn, no amount of bulk is saving Forry.

Omastar faces much the same problem as Omastar, except way worse since he's got crappy typing for the role. Electric and Fighting moves are all over the place with things like Rain and Conkeldurr, and Omastar suffers as a result.

Heatran's HP Electric could use a touch of explanation. I'd go with HP Ice myself.

Mence's set is acceptable, for what your team is looking for.

Nape is an Infernape. Dunno personally if that Choice Scarf lets him outspeed a whole lot of specific threats, or if you'd maybe be better off running LO and some priority on him. Let that be for someone who cares more about stat calcs and sped tiers than I do.

Finally, the biggest thing this team lacks is a solid Spinblocker. Gengar's not sturdy enough to do the job. I recommend dropping Omastar for a good bulky Ghost. Then try redistributing your hazards some so that Forry isn't the only thing reliably putting them down.

RMT rules said:
3. Have some actual words in your post beyond your six Pokemon and their moves. Not following this makes your post quite boring to read and rate. All Pokemon should have a good reason for being in your team anyway, so why not post that reason? If you are having trouble with this one, start by giving an explanation for each team member. Why are they there? What role do they serve? How do you get them in? Then, give an explanation of how you would open with the team and how you would go about using it. All of these things help people rate your team and allow us to offer more helpful advice.

This does not mean add one sentence saying "Standard x" or "all-around awesome" after each Pokemon. If you put thought into making the team, you can put thought into posting it.

Take a look at the RMT archive to see what kind of descriptions we are looking for. PM me the fixed descriptions and I'll unlock this thread.
