[OVERVIEW]

Excadrill is a great suicide lead for hyper offensive teams due to its decent Speed, access to Rapid Spin, and ability in Mold Breaker, which lets it set up Stealth Rock against Magic Bounce users. Toxic and Rapid Spin allow Excadrill to beat opposing leads such as Shuckle and Arceus-Fairy by crippling them with Toxic and removing their entry hazards. However, due to its shallow movepool, Excadrill is quite predictable and can be easily outplayed by leading Pokemon that can easily beat it such as Zygarde and faster Pokemon that can shut it down with Taunt. This leaves Excadrill only viable on hyper offensive teams, as balanced and defensive teams prefer Pokemon such as Skarmory that can easily clear away hazards with Defog and more bulky Stealth Rock setters such as Ferrothorn.

Moves
========

Stealth Rock chips opposing Pokemon, allowing setup sweepers to break through them more easily. Rapid Spin clears entry hazards from Excadrill's side of the field, allowing it to match up nicely against other lead Pokemon. Rock Tomb lets Excadrill hit Flying-type Pokemon like Ho-Oh for super effective damage while also lowering the foe's Speed. This allows it to soft check setup sweepers that rely on Speed boosts such as Dragon Dance Mega Rayquaza and support teammates such as Vivillon that appreciate slower foes. Toxic can cripple walls like defensive Arceus formes and offensive setup sweepers such as Geomancy Xerneas and pressures Defoggers by crippling their ability to switch in through the battle to clear hazards. Earthquake prevents setup sweepers such as Swords Dance Arceus from using Substitute to safely set up. However, using Earthquake means that Excadrill can't cripple setup sweepers such as Arceus-Ghost with Toxic.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack and Speed EVs alongside a Jolly nature allow Excadrill to hit as hard as possible and outspeed Pokemon such as Modest Yveltal and Adamant Primal Groudon. A Focus Sash allows Excadrill to survive any one attack, nearly guaranteeing that it can set up Stealth Rock or get off a Toxic. Mold Breaker gives Excadrill an advantage over other leads by letting it set up Stealth Rock against Magic Bounce Pokemon such as Espeon on Baton Pass teams and Mega Sableye.

Usage Tips
========

Excadrill should mostly be used as the lead Pokemon to almost guarantee it setting Stealth Rock. This also allows Excadrill to cripple threats such as Primal Groudon with Toxic before they can set up. When using Excadrill, decide carefully whether getting up hazards or removing them is more important. If there is a Pokemon on your opponent's team that can clear hazards easily against a majority of your Pokemon, then Excadrill should prioritize removing hazards over setting up Stealth Rock. Mold Breaker lets Excadrill badly poison all Pokemon that aren't Poison- or Steel-type, which helps it against other entry hazard setters and removers and lets it win the hazard war. Excadrill should slow down offensive setup sweepers such as Swords Dance Primal Groudon with Rock Tomb, allowing faster teammates to revenge kill them with more ease. If the opponent has a bulky Defogger such as Arceus-Water or Giratina, it should not try to set up Stealth Rock until after they are gone. Against potentially faster Pokemon that can lead against Excadrill, such as Choice Scarf Yveltal, it is better to just set up Stealth Rock rather than trying to slow them down with Rock Tomb.

Team Options
========

Setup sweepers and wallbreakers such as Dragon Dance Mega Rayquaza, Geomancy Xerneas, and Ultra Necrozma appreciate Excadrill's ability to clear entry hazards from the field, set up Stealth Rock to cripple their checks such as Skarmory and Ho-Oh, and badly poison defensive Pokemon such as Lugia for them. Since Excadrill's main purpose is to set up Stealth Rock, it enjoys teammates such as Marshadow and Arceus-Ghost that can act as spinblockers as well as Defog users such as Yveltal that have a decent matchup against other lead Pokemon. Pokemon such as Arceus-Ground and Primal Groudon appreciate Excadrill's ability to set up Stealth Rock, allowing them to run another coverage move. Vivillon appreciates Excadrill's ability to spin away Stealth Rock and lower the foe's Speed stat with Rock Tomb, allowing it to easily get off a Sleep Powder and then proceed to set up. Taunt users such as Yveltal and Mega Gengar are able to stop Defog users such as Arceus-Water from clearing Excadrill's hazards. Fast Taunt users like Yveltal benefit from Excadrill's Rock Tomb, as after one Rock Tomb they can outspeed and Taunt Defog users such as support Arceus formes. Other Pokemon such as Ultra Necrozma and Eruption Primal Groudon make great teammates for Excadrill, as they can beat most Defog users. Choice Scarf Pokemon such as Xerneas can revenge kill threats such as Mega Rayquaza.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Giratina**: Giratina completely counters Excadrill because it can spinblock, cripple Excadrill with Will-O-Wisp, remove Excadrill's entry hazards with Defog, and shrug off Toxic thanks to Rest.

**Hazard Removal**: Since Excadrill's main niche is being able to set up Stealth Rock, it doesn't appreciate Defog users such as Arceus-Fairy that can remove its Stealth Rock from the field.

**Substitute Sweepers**: Substitute sweepers such as Zygarde and Swords Dance Arceus can lead against Excadrill and freely set up behind a Substitute. However, if Excadrill is running Earthquake, it can break their Substitute.

**Ghost-types**: Ghost-type Pokemon such as Arceus-Ghost can switch into Rapid Spin, preventing Excadrill from clearing hazards.

**Faster Offensive Threats**: Faster offensive Pokemon such as Marshadow and Ultra Necrozma can easily KO Excadrill with their STAB and coverage attacks, not allowing it to have more than two turns on the field.

[OVERVIEW]

* Due to Excadrill's decent natural Speed, access to Mold Breaker, and great utility moves in Stealth Rock, Toxic, remove toxic, everything gets it, and emphasise that its whole niche is mold breaker + stealth rock and rapid spin and Rapid Spin it is a great suicide lead for Offensive teams.
* Mold Breaker allows Excadrill to Toxic poison and setup Stealth Rock infront of Magic Bounce Pokemon such as Mega Sableye.
* Toxic and Rapid Spin allows Excadrill to become an excellent anti-lead against Pokemon such as Shuckle and Arceus-Fairy by being able to remove their hazards and cripple them with Toxic.
* However due to its shallow movepool, Excadrill is quite predictable and can be easily outplayed by leading Pokemon that can easily beat it such as Zygarde, and faster Pokemon that can shut it down with Taunt then proceed to take it out with their STAB.
* excadrill is also quite frail by ag standards, so once its sash is broken, if rocks are fogged off, it's generally not getting rocks back up again
* This leaves lead Excadrill only viable on Offensive teams as Balanced and Defensive teams prefer Pokemon such as Skarmory that can easily clear away hazards with Defog, and more bulky Stealth Rock setters such as Ferrothorn. not just offensive teams, just say straight HO because even bulky offense cant afford excadrill

* Stealth Rock chips the opposing teams Pokemon allowing the team's setup sweeper an easier time breaking through the other team.
* Rapid Spin clears hazards off the field. allowing excadrill to effectively counter most leads
* Toxic can cripple walls like the defensive Arceus forms, while also allowing Excadrill to pressure Defoggers by crippling their ability to switchin through the battle to clear hazards.
* Earthquake allows Excadrill to hit Primal Groudon and Steel-type Pokemon such as Necrozma-DM for supereffective damage. However using Earthquake means that Excadrill can't cripple setup sweepers such as Mega Rayquaza with Toxic. the most important thing about eq is being able to stop sub sweepers from beating you turn 1, think sub sd groundceus, sub ekiller, sub dd 0 bulk zygarde
* Rock Tomb allows Excadrill to hit Flying-type Pokemon like Ho-Oh for supereffective damage, while also being able to lowering the foes speed stat by 1 stage. This allows it to soft check setup sweepers that rely on Speed boosts such as Dragon Dance Mega Rayquaza. more importantly, it supports teammates (like viv) after exca dies

switch the moves here too

Set Details
========

* Max HP and Max Speed EVs alongside a Jolly Nature allows Excadrill to maximize its bulk to outspeed Pokemon such as Modest Yveltal and Adamant Primal Groudon. this phrasing sounds weird, "maximize its bulk to outspeed" is odd because maximizing bulk doesn't help you outspeed stuff. also i firmly believe max attack is much better still
* A Focus Sash allows Excadrill to live any one attack guaranteeing that it can setup hazards or get off a Toxic.
* Mold Breaker allows Excadrill to get off Toxic and Stealth Rock against Magic Bounce users such as Mega Sableye.

Usage Tips
========

* Excadrill should always be used as the lead Pokemon allowing it to guarantee it setting Stealth Rock. This also allows Excadrill to cripple any threats such as Primal Groudon with Toxic before it can setup. i wouldn't say "always" there are a few antileads that beat excadrill, also it can be important to save exca to set up rocks later if they have solid defoggers
* It also has the ability to remove hazards with Rapid Spin, forcing decisions such as whether getting up hazards or removing them is more important. If there is a Pokemon on your opponent's team that can clear hazards easily against a majority of your Pokemon Excadrill should be used to remove hazards, rather than setting up Stealth Rock.
* Mold Breaker allows Toxic to cripple any Pokemon bar Toxic-immunities, due to this Excadrill should readily spread Toxic as it can cripple opposing walls such as Arceus-Water, allowing teammates to more easily break them.
* Excadrill should slow down Offensive setup sweepers such as Swords Dance Primal Groudon with Rock Tomb, allowing faster teammates to revenge kill them with more ease.
* when not to lead exca (sub sweepers if not running eq and generally not against zygarde ever unless youre sure its not sub dd)

Team Options
========

* Setup sweepers and wallbreakers such as Dragon Dance Mega Rayquaza, Geomancy Xerneas, and Water Spout Primal Kyogre appreciate Excadrill's ability to clear hazards from the field, setup Stealth Rock to cripple their checks such as Skarmory and Ho-Oh, and Toxic poison Defensive Pokemon such as Lugia for them. In return Excadrill appreciates their ability to take on Defensive Pokemon it struggles with such as Arceus-Water.
* Since Excadrill's main purpose is to setup Stealth Rocks it appreciates teammates such as Mega Gengar that can act as a spinblocker or Defog users such as Yveltal that have a decent matchup against other lead Pokemon. mega gengar is a really really bad spinblocker, exca rock tombs or eqs it on the switch and everything else kills you. mention arceus-ghost and marsh instead
* Pokemon such as Arceus-Ground and Primal Groudon appreciate Excadrill's ability to setup Stealth Rock freeing up a slot allowing them to free up a slot for more coverage.
* vivillon is a really nice teammate because you set up rocks, spin rocks away, and rock tomb the foe and then sack exca, then you bring in viv for a free sleep powder
* scarfers for speed control, not necessary but most offense have a scarfer
* taunt users - yveltal, gengar to stop defog
* pokemon that pressure defoggers - eruption groudon, spout ogre, ultra necro

Checks and Counters
===================

**Skarmory and Celesteela**: Skarmory and Celesteela can easily switch into any of Excadrill's attacks and easily Roost off the damage. Both of them can't be crippled by Toxic, so it can not wear them down either. Skarmory especially also has the ability to Defog away hazards making Excadrill useless. celesteela cant roost off damage, so just say "recover"

**Ghost-types**: Ghost-type Pokemon such as Lunala and Marshadow can switch into Rapid Spin preventing Excadrill from clearing away hazards with Rapid Spin.

**Taunt Pokemon**: Taunt Pokemon such as Yveltal can prevent Excadrill from taking advantage of its utility moves and force Excadrill to use its weak attacks.

**Hazard Removal**: Since Excadrill's main niche is being able to setup Stealth Rock, it doesn't appreciate Defog and Rapid Spin users such as Arceus-Fairy and Pheromosa as they can remove its Stealth Rock from the field. pheromosa is really really bad, shouldnt mention spin because only other one is excadrill itself. also mention that if exca dies, rocks are off permanently

**Faster Offensive Threats**: Faster Offensive Pokemon such as Mega Gengar and Ultra Necrozma can easily OHKO Excadrill with their coverage attacks, not allowing it to have more than 1 turn on the field. more than 2 turns, you have a sash. also replace gengar, it needs to hit focus blast to kill exca from full and a) focus is rare 2) its not hitting ever

giratina is suspiciously absent, it blocks spin, defogs away rocks, wisps exca, and has pressure to always keep off rocks. it should be the #1 because at least for skarm and celest you still get up rocks against them
substitute sweepers should be #2 because you cant lead against them, and if you do, they get a free sub if you get up rocks and you basically risk getting up rocks and giving them free setup
skarmory and celesteela should definitely be lower because while they do wall it, exca doesn't need to break through them. it still does its job fine with them there

* Due to Excadrill's decent natural Speed, access to Mold Breaker, which allows Excadrill to always setup Stealth Rock (say something like "allows it to set up a wider range of mons than other leads", rather than it always gets them up, may be misleading), and great utility move in Rapid Spin makes it a great suicide lead for Hyper Offensive teams.
* Toxic and Rapid Spin allows Excadrill to become an excellent anti-lead against Pokemon such as Shuckle and Arceus-Fairy by being able to remove their hazards and cripple them with Toxic.

* Since Excadrill is quite frail it relies on its Focus Sash to safely get up Stealth Rock, meaning if Stealth Rock is cleared it probably will not be able to reset them. being a suicide lead, exca usually isnt alive to set them again
* This leaves lead Excadrill only viable on Hyper Offensive teams as Balanced and Defensive teams prefer Pokemon such as Skarmory that can easily clear away hazards with Defog, and more bulky Stealth Rock setters such as Ferrothorn.

* Toxic can cripple walls like the defensive Arceus forms, while also allowing Excadrill to pressure Defoggers by crippling their ability to switchin through the battle to clear hazards.
* Earthquake allows Excadrill to stop setup sweepers such as Bulky Swords Dance Arceus Normal which use Substitute to setup. However using Earthquake means that Excadrill can't cripple setup sweepers such as Mega Rayquaza with Toxic. It can hinder the setup though, with rock tomb, youre contradicting yourself here as you said earlier you can soft check sweepers that rely on speed

If the opponent has Bulky Defoggers such as Arceus-Water and Giratina, it should not try to setup Stealth Rock until after they are gone.
Add something about taking extra caution again potentially scarfed mons like + speed scarf ygod that can outspeed even after rock tomb, basically just saying refrain from using rock tomb

In return Excadrill appreciates their ability to pressure Defensive Pokemon it struggles with such as Arceus-Water. one comment about this is that you make it seem as though exca is going to be hanging around throughout much of the match and is able to play off the other mons like how the other mons play off it. In reality, exca is usually going to be taken down to its sash the turn it comes out to set rocks or rock tomb and then be taken out next turn in order to allow safe entry of a sweeper.
* Since Excadrill's main purpose is to setup Stealth Rocks it appreciates teammates such as Marshadow and Arceus-Ghost that can act as a spinblocker or Defog users such as Yveltal that have a decent matchup against other lead Pokemon.
* Pokemon such as Arceus-Ground and Primal Groudon appreciate Excadrill's ability to setup Stealth Rock freeing up a slot allowing them to free up a slot for more coverage. run another coverage move.
* Vivillon appreciates Excadrill's ability to spin away Stealth Rock and lower the foe's Speed stat with Rock Tomb, allowing it to easily get off a Sleep Powder and then proceed to setup.
* Taunt users such as Yveltal and Mega Gengar are able to stop Defog users such as Arceus-Steel from clearing Excadrill's hazards. You can also mention hear yveltal and the whole team by extension benefit from speed lowering of rock tomb to taunt faster defoggers like arceus
* Pokemon that can pressure Defoggers such as Eruption Primal Groudon and Ultra Necrozma make great teammates for Excadrill as they discourage Defog and can beat most Defog users.
* Choice Scarf Pokemon such as Xerneas is a great forms of Speed control for the team as it can take on threats such as Mega Rayquaza.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Giratina**: Giratina completely counters Excadrill as it acts as a spinblocker, can cripple it with Will-O-Wisp, remove its hazards with Defog, and not be bothered by Toxic thanks to Rest. both formes, but focus on altered forme as it is more common

**Substitute Sweepers**: Substitute Sweepers such as Marshadow and Swords Dance Arceus can lead against Excadrill and freely setup behind a Substitute. However if Excadrill is running Earthquake it can break their Substitute.

**Skarmory and Celesteela**: Skarmory and Celesteela can easily switch into any of Excadrill's attacks and easily Recover off the damage. Both of them can't be crippled by Toxic, so it can not wear them down either. Skarmory especially also has the ability to Defog away hazards making Excadrill useless. For cele, exca cant do much to it, but cele doesnt necessarily prevent it from doing its job of setting rocks either, and it doesnt interfere with exca nearly as much as skarm. I get that it walls it but i dont think its on the same level as skarm for this, although it can use exca as flame charge/sub bait.

**Ghost-types**: Ghost-type Pokemon such as Lunala and Marshadow can switch into Rapid Spin preventing Excadrill from clearing away hazards with Rapid Spin. i think ghost types should go further down on the list, like at the bottom. Lunala doesnt like its shadow shield being broken either by hazards or a move, and marsh doesnt want to take chip. Arc ghost is a better choice

**Taunt Pokemon**: Taunt Pokemon such as Yveltal can prevent Excadrill from taking advantage of its utility moves and force Excadrill to use its weak attacks. those weak attacks aren't weak vs common taunters, since rock tomb hits yveltal hard and eq hits mgar very hard

**Hazard Removal**: Since Excadrill's main niche is being able to setup Stealth Rock, it doesn't appreciate Defog users such as Arceus-Fairy as it can remove its Stealth Rock from the field. should be far higher

**Faster Offensive Threats**: Faster Offensive Pokemon such as Marshadow and Ultra Necrozma can easily OHKO Excadrill with their STAB and coverage attacks, not allowing it to have more than two turns on the field.

Earthquake allows Excadrill to stop setup sweepers such as Bulky Swords Dance Arceus Normal which use Substitute to setup. However using Earthquake means that Excadrill can't effectively cripple Substitute setup sweepers such as Mega Rayquaza with Toxic. the rock tomb section is a little misleading, you don't want defoggers to be slower than you really. additionally, this sub mray point is really out of the ordinary and not the norm, you'd be obliged to mention how you dont get to slow down "opposing setup sweepers like mray" but forgo how relevant toxic is because regardless you're letting a dd ray get to +2 or higher without much hassle.

Mold Breaker allows Toxic to cripple any Pokemon bar Toxic-immunities, due to this Excadrill should readily spread Toxic as it can cripple opposing walls such as Arceus-Water, allowing teammates to more easily break them. this doesn't exactly explain it, you see, any mon can toxic waterceus, moldy doesn't allow it to do this more easily. you don't need to say "allows every mon to be toxic'd bar toxic immunities, because that's just silly mostly. say how it can now hit Magic Bounce users such as x and y. Excadrill isnt scared to spam Toxic, if it didn't have Mold Breaker, it wouldn't really lose an excessive amount by having it bounced back. It's a Steel-type. I understand this point but it really should be clarified that you should just spread Toxic as much as possible while ensuring you win the <<hazard war>> but of course in more technical terms. Excadrill should slow down Offensive setup sweepers such as Swords Dance Primal Groudon with Rock Tomb, allowing faster teammates to revenge kill them with more ease. Excadrill should not be used as the lead Pokemon if the other team is carrying a setup sweeper with Substitute such as Marshadow how is someone supposed to tell this from matchup, its unrealistic. if you are not carrying Earthquake or if the opponent has Pokemon such as Zygarde that complete counter it. If the opponent has Bulky Defoggers such as Arceus-Water and Giratina, it should not try to setup Stealth Rock until after they are gone. Against potentially faster Pokemon that can lead against Excadrill, such as Scarf Yveltal it is better to just setup Stealth Rock rather than trying to slow it down with Rock Tomb just setup Stealth Rock.

Toxic and Rapid Spin allows allow Excadrill to become an excellent anti-lead against Pokemon beat opposing leads such as Shuckle and Arceus-Fairy being able to cripple by crippling them with Toxic and remove removing their entry hazards. However,(AC) due to its shallow movepool, Excadrill is quite predictable and can be easily outplayed by leading Pokemon that can easily beat it such as Zygarde,(RC) and faster Pokemon that can shut it down with Taunt. This leaves lead (only 1 set listed and no OO sets, so no need to clarify what kind of Excadrill) Excadrill only viable on Hyper Offensive hyper offensive teams,(AC) as Balanced balanced and Defensive defensive teams prefer Pokemon such as Skarmory that can easily clear away hazards with Defog,(RC) and more bulky Stealth Rock setters such as Ferrothorn.

Stealth Rock chips the opposing team's Pokemon,(AC) allowing the team's setup sweeper an easier time breaking sweepers to break through the other team them more easily. Rapid Spin clears entry hazards off from Excadrill's side of the field,(AC) allowing Excadrill it to matchup match up nicely against other lead Pokemon. Rock Tomb allows lets Excadrill to hit Flying-type Pokemon like Ho-Oh for supereffective super effective damage,(RC) while also being able to lowering the foes speed stat by 1 stage foe's Speed. This allows it to soft check setup sweepers that rely on Speed boosts such as Dragon Dance Mega Rayquaza and support teammates such as Vivillon that appreciate slower foes such as Vivillon. Toxic can cripple walls like the defensive Arceus forms formes and offensive setup sweepers such as Geomancy Xerneas, while also allowing Excadrill to pressure and pressures Defoggers by crippling their ability to switchin switch in through the battle to clear hazards. Earthquake allows Excadrill to stop prevents setup sweepers such as Bulky Swords Dance Arceus Normal which use from using Substitute to setup safely set up. However,(AC) using Earthquake means that Excadrill can't effectively cripple Substitute setup sweepers such as Arceus Ghost Arceus-Ghost with Toxic.

Max Maximum Attack and Max Speed EVs alongside a Jolly Nature allows nature allow Excadrill to hit as hard as possible and to outspeed Pokemon such as Modest Yveltal and Adamant Primal Groudon. A Focus Sash allows Excadrill to live survive any one attack, nearly guaranteeing that it can setup hazards set up Stealth Rock (might be subjective, but eh all drill has is rocks) or get off a Toxic. Mold Breaker allows gives Excadrill to have a unique an (technically druddigon can do this too, so it ain't unique) advantage over other leads by being able to setup letting it set up Stealth Rock against Magic Bounce Pokemon such as Espeon on Baton Pass teams and Mega Sableye and Espeon on Baton Pass teams.

Usage Tips
========

Excadrill should mostly be used as the lead Pokemon allowing it to almost guarantee it setting Stealth Rock (faster Taunt users do exist, so Excadrill can't 100% of the time set Stealth Rock successfully). This also allows Excadrill to cripple any threats such as Primal Groudon with Toxic before it they can setup set up. It also has the ability to remove hazards with Rapid Spin, forcing which forces decisions such as whether getting up hazards or removing them is more important. If there is a Pokemon on your opponent's team that can clear hazards easily against a majority of your Pokemon, then Excadrill should be used to remove hazards, rather than prioritize removing hazards over setting up Stealth Rock. Mold Breaker allows Excadrill to Toxic all Pokemon that aren't part Steel- or Poison-type, allowing Excadrill to freely spread Toxic poison around, which helps Excadrill against other hazard setters and removers, ultimately allowing it to win the hazard war. Mold Breaker lets Excadrill badly poison all Pokemon that aren't Poison- or Steel-type, which helps it against other entry hazard setters and removers and lets it win the hazard war. (previous sentence was very run-on-y) Excadrill should slow down Offensive offensive setup sweepers such as Swords Dance Primal Groudon with Rock Tomb, allowing faster teammates to revenge kill them with more ease. If the opponent has Bulky bulky Defoggers (if you mean that if the opponent has A bulky Defogger (no idea how common double Defog is in AG), then make a change to reflect that, and change the following 'and' to an 'or') such as Arceus-Water and Giratina, it should not try to setup set up Stealth Rock until after they are gone. Against potentially faster Pokemon that can lead against Excadrill, such as Choice Scarf Yveltal,(AC) it is better to just setup set up Stealth Rock rather than trying try to slow it them down with Rock Tomb.

Team Options
========

Setup sweepers and wallbreakers such as Dragon Dance Mega Rayquaza, Geomancy Xerneas, and Ultra Necrozma appreciate Excadrill's ability to clear entry hazards from the field, setup set up Stealth Rock to cripple their checks such as Skarmory and Ho-Oh, and Toxic badly poison defensive Pokemon such as Lugia with Toxic for them. Since Excadrill's main purpose is to setup set up Stealth Rocks Rock, it appreciates enjoys teammates such as Marshadow and Arceus-Ghost that can act as a spinblocker or as well as Defog users such as Yveltal that have a decent matchup against other lead Pokemon. Pokemon such as Arceus-Ground and Primal Groudon appreciate Excadrill's ability to setup set up Stealth Rock,(AC) allowing them to run another coverage move. Vivillon appreciates Excadrill's ability to spin away Stealth Rock and lower the foe's Speed stat with Rock Tomb, allowing it to easily get off a Sleep Powder and then proceed to setup set up. Taunt users such as Yveltal and Mega Gengar are able to stop Defog users such as Arceus-Steel from clearing Excadrill's hazards. Fast Taunt users like Yveltal benefit from Excadrill's Rock Tomb, as after one Rock Tomb they can outspeed and Taunt Defog users such as support Arceus forms. Also other formes. Other (e: woops this other should be blue) Pokemon such as Eruption Primal Groudon and Ultra Necrozma that can pressure Defoggers such as Eruption Primal Groudon and Ultra Necrozma make great teammates for Excadrill,(AC) as they discourage Defog and can beat most Defog users. Choice Scarf Pokemon such as Xerneas is a great forms of Speed control for the team as it can take on revenge kill threats such as Mega Rayquaza. (choice scarf pokemon arent speed control; that's stuff like twave, tailwind, and sticky web)

Checks and Counters

**Giratina**: Giratina completely counters Excadrill as because it acts as a spinblocker can spinblock,(keep this comma) can cripple it Excadrill with Will-O-Wisp, remove its Excadrill's entry hazards with Defog, and not be bothered by shrug off (this change makes it flow less awkwardly imo) Toxic thanks to Rest.

**Hazard Removal**: Since Excadrill's main niche is being able to setup set up Stealth Rock, it doesn't appreciate Defog users such as Arceus-Fairy as it that can remove its Stealth Rock from the field.

**Substitute Sweepers**: Substitute Sweepers sweepers such as Marshadow and Swords Dance Arceus can lead against Excadrill and freely setup set up behind a Substitute. However,(AC) if Excadrill is running Earthquake,(AC) it can break their Substitute.

**Ghost-types**: Ghost-type Pokemon such as Arceus Ghost Arceus-Ghost can switch into Rapid Spin,(AC) preventing Excadrill from clearing away hazards with Rapid Spin.

**Faster Offensive Threats**: Faster Offensive offensive Pokemon such as Marshadow and Ultra Necrozma can easily OHKO KO Excadrill with their STAB and coverage attacks, not allowing it to have more than two turns on the field.
