[OVERVIEW]

Exeggutor is one of the most threatening special attackers in ZU thanks to its outlandish Special Attack, oppressive dual STAB attacks, and diverse movepool. Only a handful of viable Pokemon can take its Psychic- and Grass-type STAB attacks, and Exeggutor can break past walls and frailer resistant Pokemon with the extra power from Choice Specs or Grassium Z. It also has Sleep Powder, which is a valuable supportive move for debilitating switch-ins like Bronzor and Silvally-Dark. Exeggutor's vast movepool grants it multiple possible sets and functions, as it can even support its offensive presence with Leech Seed, Substitute, and Sitrus Berry with Harvest. The downside of Exeggutor comes with its poor Speed and exploitable defensive typing, as Exeggutor can easily be checked by common faster attackers like Swanna, Rapidash, Pinsir, and Choice Band Komala. Another limitation is that Exeggutor lacks the coverage or options for midground plays and can easily lose momentum on a wrong prediction, allowing the opposing Silvally-Dark to trap it or Bronzor to outstall it.

Moves
========

Giga Drain is a Grass-type STAB move that is easier to spam compared to Leaf Storm and provides extra recovery while preserving Exeggutor's Special Attack. Hidden Power Fire is an option to hit Steel- and Grass-types like Metang, Bronzor, and opposing Exeggutor for super effective damage. Sleep Powder alternatively could be used to debilitate switch-ins like Lickilicky. Psyshock can dent special walls like Lickilicky and Kecleon but usually is not preferred over Psychic, as then Exeggutor has a harder time dealing with physical walls that resist Grass like Gourgeist-XL and Altaria.

Set Details
========
Choice Specs and a Modest nature provide the most power for consistent wallbreaking.

Usage Tips
========

Exeggutor is meant to be a special wallbreaker and should threaten OHKOs on slower physical walls like Golem, Poliwrath, Sandslash, and Mareanie. The few key resistances Exeggutor has make switching into these aforementioned walls relatively safe, although it does have to worry about Knock Off coverage to preserve its wallbreaking potential and Toxic to avoid being worn down. Keep Exeggutor healthy, as it can take weak U-turns from defensive Silvally-Fighting and Silvally-Dragon and still nail the switch-in. Giga Drain is a much safer attack over Leaf Storm to threaten Golem and Sandslash when the opponent may have Pursuit trappers and setup sweepers like Silvally-Dark and Leafeon that could take advantage of the lowered Special Attack. Outside of these situations, Leaf Storm should still be the primary choice between the two attacks for how strong it is. Be wary of locking into one if Exeggutor's attacks if the opponent has Dark-types or Sap Sipper Pokemon on their team, as these potential switch-ins can take advantage of or Pursuit trap Exeggutor. Instead of risking being Choice-locked, Exeggutor can double switch to a teammate when predicting a switch-in. In the same vein, Sleep Powder can be used first when predicting switches to walls like Bronzor and Lickilicky, making them easier for teammates to switch into without fearing their Toxic as much.

Team Options
========

U-turn and Volt Switch users like Silvally-Fighting and Electivire are good examples of offensive pivots that help bring Exeggutor in. They enjoy its Psychic- and Ground-type resistances while also luring walls like Mareanie and Gourgeist-XL for Exeggutor to handle. Silvally-Dark and Pawniard are valuable Pursuit users for Exeggutor and can help trap and remove its checks like Bronzor and Metang from play. Defensive pivots such as Mareanie, Mawile, Poliwrath, and Bronzor are helpful for tanking hits from common revenge killers that threaten Exeggutor like Rapidash, Pinsir, and Swanna. Resisting or even punishing U-turn in the case of Rocky Helmet Mawile is a key trait to have for defensively backing up Exeggutor. Physical sweepers like Swords Dance Combusken, Shell Smash Crustle, and Z-Me First Pinsir benefit from Exeggutor's ability to break physical walls like Mareanie, Poliwrath, and Gourgeist-XL to facilitate their sweeps. Entry hazard support from Golem and Crustle can help bring more walls like Gourgeist-XL into OHKO range for Exeggutor. On the other hand, Defog and Rapid Spin support from Silvally-Dark and Komala keeps Exeggutor healthy so that it can wallbreak throughout the game.

[SET]

move 2: Psychic
move 3: Sleep Powder
move 4: Substitute
item: Grassium Z
ability: Chlorophyll
nature: Modest

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Sleep Powder can be used to hinder walls and switch-ins. Substitute takes advantage of the switches Exeggutor causes when in on a vulnerable wall. Hidden Power Fire can be used over Substitute, as it can hit Steel-types like Pawniard and Metang, but it competes with the utility of Substitute. Moreover, it inflicts only similar damage to Bloom Doom as is.

Set Details
========

Grassium Z negates the low accuracy and Special Attack debuff of Leaf Storm while also providing a huge one-time nuke for frailer resistant Pokemon and certain walls like Rapidash and Dusclops.

Usage Tips
========

Use Sleep Powder to cripple initial switch-ins to Leaf Storm and Psychic like Bronzor and Lickilicky and make them more manageable. Be conservative with the Z-Move, as Bloom Doom can be used to either secure a 2HKO on bulkier walls or OHKO possibly anything later in the game and should be used with the certainty that it will be worthwhile. Exeggutor can switch into most passive Pokemon in ZU, as well as into Ground-types like Torterra and Golem. Additionally, Grassium Z makes switching into walls with Knock Off like Mareanie and Sandslash easier. Using Sleep Powder followed by Substitute can give Exeggutor protection against incoming faster threats such as Rapidash and Silvally-Dark. It can be beneficial to bluff Choice Specs, as there is overlap in OHKOs like with Psychic on physically defensive Mareanie. Then, if the opponent has a Pursuit trapper like Silvally-Dark or Pawniard, they may bring in one without expecting the following OHKO from Bloom Doom.

Team Options
========

Fire-types like Combusken and Simisear help break through bulkier Steel-types and special walls like Metang and Lickilicky for Exeggutor with their Fire- and Fighting-type coverage. They also lure in defensive Water- and Ground-types like Mareanie and Golem that Exeggutor can switch into and set up Substitute on or dispose of early-game to help with late-game cleaning. Water-types like Mareanie and Silvally-Water can be good defensive pivots that provide Ice- and Fire-type resistances for Exeggutor, which discourages Electric- and Grass-type attacks for them in return. Entry hazard support from Sandslash and Mareanie provides the chip damage needed to secure OHKOs with Bloom Doom on Leafeon or Rapidash, as well as regular KOs with Leaf Storm on targets that do not require the Z-Move like on Golem and Granbull. In the same vein, keeping entry hazards off Exeggutor's side of the field lets it preserve its bulk, so entry hazard removers like Silvally-Dragon and Sandslash are useful to have.

[SET]
name: SubSeed
move 1: Leech Seed
move 2: Substitute
move 3: Psychic
move 4: Giga Drain
item: Sitrus Berry
ability: Harvest
nature: Modest
evs: 80 HP / 252 SpA / 176 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Leech Seed provides both recovery and chip damage against walls and switch-ins. Substitute helps to stall with Leech Seed and Harvest while also providing protection against status and weak attacks. Protect could be considered over Giga Drain or Substitute, as it stalls out turns to help trigger Harvest, but it makes Exeggutor much more passive.

Set Details
========

176 Speed EVs are run to outspeed Adamant Golem, Crustle, and Marowak. The remaining 80 EVs are invested into HP, as this Exeggutor set does not need full Speed investment and would rather have extra bulk.

Usage Tips
========

Use Substitute to scout for what the opponent may try to switch in once Exeggutor is in on a favorable matchup like against Golem or Mareanie. Leech Seed with Harvest can be used to stall out potential checks like Bronzor and Lickilicky, forcing them to switch out or lose late-game. Switching into slower Ground-types like Golem and Torterra can be less punishing with the passive recovery from Sitrus Berry, but you must watch out for Knock Off users like Sandslash and Mareanie; if Exeggutor loses its Sitrus Berry before consuming it, Harvest will never activate. Keep Exeggutor healthy, as at full health, it will always survive U-turns from offensive Silvally-Fighting and Silvally-Dark and be put in range of triggering Sitrus Berry's recovery.

Team Options
========

Walls that enjoy having Exeggutor's resistances to Ground, Fighting, and Psychic like Mareanie, Mawile, and Poliwrath can be used to form a defensive core that helps check its revenge killers like Silvally-Dark and Komala. Mawile and Poliwrath in particular along with other Fairy- and Dark-types can be used as Knock Off and U-turn switch-ins when you're up against Pawniard or Silvally and Exeggutor is not healthy enough or behind a Substitute. Toxic or Toxic Spikes support from walls like Altaria, Golem, and Mareanie helps Exeggutor outstall opposing walls. Cleaners like Combusken, Z-Me First Pinsir, and Z-Rain Dance Swanna appreciate how Exeggutor can wear down walls over time, putting them in KO range for these three to finish the job. Entry hazard removers and Poison-type teammates like Komala, Altaria, and Mareanie help remove Toxic Spikes, a dangerous entry hazard that would normally debilitate Exeggutor.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Trick Room can be used with minimum Speed investment and a Quiet nature for both more bulk and sweeping potential. However, even with the extra HP, without Trick Room up Exeggutor becomes vulnerable to attackers that it used to outspeed and dent like Granbull and Marowak. Endure with Custap Berry provides pseudo-priority for Exeggutor to sweep when it is in Harvest range. Unfortunately, this is dependent on the opponent not having actual priority users or walls that would check this set, as well as Harvest activating repeatedly. Life Orb with Sunny Day support can function on sun teams as a dangerous special attacker that has the pro of 2HKOing Bronzor with Hidden Power Fire, but it is worn down easily and cannot outspeed most Choice Scarf users even under sun. Swords Dance is an option to make use of Exeggutor's decent physical movepool, but such a set is largely outclassed by the immediate power of its special sets.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Dark-types**: Dark-types like Silvally-Dark and Pawniard discourage Exeggutor from spamming Psychic and can punish it completely with Pursuit or set up with Swords Dance once it's Choice-locked into Psychic. They can still be OHKOed by an incoming Choice Specs-boosted Leaf Storm or Bloom Doom and thus best check Exeggutor when given a free switch.

**Special Walls**: The huge special walls of the metagame like Bronzor, Lickilicky, and Assault Vest Bouffalant can take most of Exeggutor's hits, but they have to be wary of being victim to Sleep Powder and Leech Seed stalling for the former two or Psyshock for the latter two.

**Faster Pokemon**: Exeggutor's mediocre Speed means that faster threats like Komala, Swanna, Rapidash, and Purugly can threaten it with their super effective coverage or STAB moves. They usually cannot switch into Exeggutor, though, and need a sack or special defensive pivot to have a chance at revenge killing it.

**U-turn**: U-turn does tons of damage to Exeggutor, if not outright OHKOing it like in the case of Toucannon or Choice Band Komala. It is also vulnerable to weaker U-turns from Silvally-Dragon and defensive Silvally-Fighting after some chip damage, which gives up momentum when it is in KO range and forced out.

[OVERVIEW]
  • Exeggutor is one of the most threatening special attackers for the tier thanks to its outlandish special attack, offensive dual STAB, and versatile movepool.
  • Only a handful of viable Pokemon can take its STAB Psychic / Grass attacks, and Exeggutor can break past walls and frailer resisted hits with the extra power from Choice Specs or Grassium Z.
  • It also has Sleep Powder, which is a valuable supportive move for debilitating switch ins like Bronzor and Kecleon. Silvally-Dark (or Lickilicky/Metang/some other bulky mon if you don't want to re-use Silvally-Dark later). Kecleon checks Eggy but it also gets 2HKOd by Specs Psychic after Rocks so you're usually better off just clicking buttons, whereas not having to predict vs immunites and preventing fatmons from healing is really nice.
  • The versatility of its movepool allows Exeggutor have multiple sets and functions, as it can even support its offensive presence with Leech Seed, Substitute, and Sitrus Berry with Harvest.
  • The caveat of Exeggutor is its speed and abusable defensive typing, as Exeggutor can easily be checked by common faster attackers like Swanna, Combusken, Pinsir, and Choice Band Komala. Combusken has the same speed stat. While it's true Combusken is usually +nature and Eggy is neutral, I feel there's better examples to use (Rapidash, Silvally[-Normal], Simisear).
  • Another limitation is that Exeggutor may fail to capitalize when the opponent tries to pivot around its attacks, allowing the opposing Silvally-Dark or Bronzor to punish or outstall it. Reword this point to clarify that Egg doesn't have many options for coverage/midground plays thus gives up momentum if you don't get predicts right. If you're using Silvally-Dark as an example, specify that it traps Eggy. "punish" is vague and is more relevant to opposing breakers like CB Bouff.

Moves
========
  • Leaf Storm is incredibly strong, but comes at the price of being locked into an attack that continually lowers special attack. Fluff
  • Giga Drain is a safer but noticeably weaker Grass STAB that also provides some recovery. Put a more positive focus on why you'd click this move as opposed to Leaf Storm. (i.e. if you don't need the extra power, or to heal chip.) You've got the core points correct here but the phrasing is off and makes it come across like it's an OO move.
  • Hidden Power Fire is an option to hit Steels and Grasses like Metang, Bronzor, and other Exeggutors for super effective damage.
  • Sleep Powder alternatively could be used to debilitate switch ins. Give an example (ideally not one from the Overview).
  • Psyshock can dent special defensive walls like Lickilicky and Kecleon, but usually is not preferred as then Exeggutor has a harder time dealing with physical walls that resists its Grass coverage like Gourgeist-XL and Altaria.
Set Details

  • Choice Specs and a Modest nature provides the most power for consistent wallbreaking.
Usage Tips
========
  • Exeggutor is meant to be a special attacking wallbreaker, and should threaten 1HKOs on slower physical walls like Golem, Gourgiest-XL, Sandslash, and Mareanie.
  • The few key resistances Exeggutor has means switching into these aforementioned walls is relatively safe, although it does have to worry about a Knock Off from the last two. Golem and Sandslash also threaten it with Toxic. You're better off re-doing the point to focus more on scouting out utility moves (Toxic/Knock Off) and being careful when bringing it into play.
  • Keep Exeggutor healthy, as it can take weaker U-Turns from defensive Silvally-Fighting or Silvally-Dragon and still nail the switch in.
  • Giga Drain is a much safer attack over Leaf Storm to threaten Golem or Sandslash when the opponent may have Pursuit trappers or set up sweepers like Silvally-Dark or Leafeon that could take advantage of the lowered special attack. Mention that Leaf Storm should be clicked outside of these situations as it's notably stronger.
  • Be weary of locking into one if its attacks if the opponent has Dark types or Sap Sipper Pokemon on their team, as these can be potential switch ins to shut down or phase out Exeggutor. Phase is typically used to mean Roar/Whirlwind/Circle Throw. "Trap with Pursuit / take advantage of" leaves less room for misinterpretation.
  • Going for Sleep Powder instead of choosing between the two STABs can be a safe play to debilitate whatever stays in or switches in, given that both would be vulnerable to Sleep Powder. Specify that Sleep Powder can be used as a middle-ground if both the present mon and the expected switchin is vulnerable to Sleep Powder. I think that's what you meant in the last sentence, but it's not entirely clear.
Team Options
========
  • U-Turn and Volt Switch users like Silvally-Fighting, Silvally-Dark, and Electivire are good examples of offensive pivots that help bring Exeggutor in while also enjoy its Psychic / Fighting / Ground resistances. Add that they're good at luring defensive Pokemon like Mareanie/Gourg for Eggy.
  • Silvally-Dark also is a valuable Pursuit trap user, which along with Pawniard can help trap and remove Bronzor and Metang from play, allowing Exeggutor to more freely spam its STABs.
  • Defensive pivots such as Mareanie, Rotom-F, Mawile, and Bronzor are helpful for tanking hits from common revenge killers that threaten it. Include examples. Also remember that Rotom-F is Frost, not Fan.
  • Defensive Fairy and Fighting types like Mawhile and Poliwrath are helpful for switching into U-Turns and Knock Offs for it. Merge this into the point above; switchins to super-effective hits are more relevant than any individual move, although a special case for U-turn could be made with an addendum on Rocky Helmet Mawile.
  • Physical sweepers like Swords Dance Combsuken, Rockium Z Crustle, and Z-Me First Pinsir use the support from Exeggutor's ability to break physical walls like Mareanie, Poliwrath, and Gourgiest-XL to facilitate their sweeps. Crustle doesn't need to be Rockium-Z, just Shell Smash. White Herb (and Figy if you're me) variants also sweep.

  • Sleep Powder can be used to hinder potential walls and switch ins.
  • Substitute combos with Sleep Powder while also provides a status immunity against walls. Substitute is used to take advantage of forced switches; while it's true it combos with Sleep Powder in this sense, it's still good when nothing's asleep and the compatibility with Sleep Powder is better left to Usage Tips.
  • Sunny Day could be considered over Substitute so that Exeggutor may clean with the double speed, but usually is less consistent and riskier, as most scarfers still outspeed even with Sun. Sunny Day requires different team support to function. Keep to OO.
Set Details
========
  • Grassium Z negates the lower accuracy and special attack debuff of Leaf Storm while also providing a huge one-time nuke.
Usage Tips
========
  • Firing off Leaf Storms and Psychics is less problematic when slower switch ins like Bronzor, Lickilicky, and Kecleon all fear being put to sleep. These are going to be the initial switchins; simply saying that Egg can cripple them with Sleep Powder is more accurate.
  • Be conservative with the the Z move, as Bloom Doom can either be used to secure a 2HKO on bulkier walls or 1HKO possibly anything later in the game.
  • Grassium Z also provides a defense against weaker Knock Offs, and allows Exeggutor to preserve its item when switching into Sandslash and Mareanie. The Knock Off bonus of the Z isn't the most relevant thing here. Rephrase this to say that Exeggutor can switch directly into passive Pokemon/Ground-types (Tort for example springs to mind) and then move the bit about Knock Off to the end of the bullet.
  • Talk about using Substitute when expecting the above^ mons to switch.
  • It can be beneficial to bluff that Exeggutor is Choice Specs, as there is overlap with 1HKOs like with Psychic on Mareanie. Then, if the opponent has a Pursuit trapper like Silvally-Dark or Pawniard, they may switch one of those in not expecting the following 1HKO from Z-Leafstorm.
  • Sleep Powder into Substitute can give Exeggutor defense against incoming faster threats such as ___ revenge killers, so long as the current target gets at least 2 turns of sleep and is KO'd in the next turn. Move this above bluffing Specs to continue the Switch in -> Sub - > Attack line of thought that the points above it segue into.
Team Options
========
  • Fire types like Combusken and Simisear help break through the bulkier Steel and Normal walls for Exeggutor with their Fire and Fighting coverage. SpDef walls aren't universally Normal-type, even if most of the ZU ones are. Just say that they can break through Steel-types and fat spdef walls. Give examples. They also lure Ground- and Water- types that Eggy can Sub on.
  • Water types like Mareanie and Silvally-Water can be good defensive pivots that provide Ice and Fire checks for Exeggutor, while it discourages Electric and Grass attacks for them.
  • Hazard support from Golem and Mareanie provides the chip damage needed to secure 1HKOs with Z-Leafstorm, as well as regular KOs that do not waste the Z move. Give examples of mons that only get OHKOd/2HKOd with Rocks up.
  • In the same vein, keeping hazards off Exeggutor's side of the field lets it preserve the bulk it needs to take weaker Knock Offs and U-Turns, so removers like Silvally-Dark and Sandslash are useful to have. This set can't afford to take U-Turns due to the lack of recovery or immediate power. It needs the health to reliably set up Substitute.
  • Physical sweepers take advantage of Exeggutor breaking defensive walls in the midgame, but are unable to run a Z move themselves, leaving Combusken to run Eviolite or Pinsir to run Choice Scarf. This can be merged into the first point. Try not to focus on situational negatives too much here.

**Dark-types**: Dark-types like Silvally-Dark and Pawniard make Exeggutor think twice before using Psychic, and can punish completely with Pursuit or Swords Dance if locked into Psychic by Choice Specs. Mention that neither can take a Specs or Z-boosted Leaf Storm

**Special walls**: The huge special walls of the tier like Bronzor, Kecleon AV Bouffalant, and Lickilicky can take most hits, but have to be weary of being victim to Sleep Powder, Leech Seed stalling, or Psyshock with the latter two. You may need to reword the second half of this to avoid implying Bouff is troubled by Leech Seed.

**Faster Pokemon**: Pokemon that outspeed Egg and threaten it with Super Effective attacks, but can only be brought in with a pivot or after a kill.

**U-Turn**: U-Turn does tons of damage, if not outright KOing Exeggutor, but also punishes what Exeggutor may switch out into as the opponent can now switch in accordingly. It can still live some weaker U-Turns when healthy, but is 1HKO'd from Toucannon and Choice Band Komala. You've gone a bit too in-depth on the scenarios where Eggy lives. Rephrase to highlight that Egg can be OHKOd by U-Turn from Touc/Komala because of its typing and is very prone to being put in range of U-turn from the others (e.g. Silvally-Fighting. Give examples) thus gives up momentum when it's forced out.

  • Be weary of locking into one if its attacks if the opponent has Dark types or Sap Sipper Pokemon on their team, as these can be potential switch ins take advantage of or Pursuit trap Exeggutor. This goes into one of Eggy's flaws mentioned in the overview, how Eggy is something that lacks midground plays. As such, you can mention here that instead of risking an attack, Eggy can predict incoming switch-ins and double switch to a teammate.

They enjoy its Psychic / Fighting / Ground resistances, whiile also luring walls like Mareanie and Gourgiest-XL for Exeggutor to handle. I'm doubtful about having Fighting resistances here because all the Combusken, Silvally-Fighting, and Monferno threaten Eggy, and even offensive Poliwrath can outrun it and use Ice Beam for 54.3 - 64.6%. Can remove Silvally-Dark and Fighting-types and keep it as is or adjust the whole point.
  • Silvally-Dark also is a valuable Pursuit trap user, which along with Pawniard can help trap and remove Bronzor and Metang from play, allowing Exeggutor to more freely spam its STABs.
  • Defensive pivots such as Mareanie, Mawile, Poliwrath, and Bronzor are helpful for tanking hits from common revenge killers that threaten it like Rapidash, Pinsir, and Swanna. Resisting or evening punishing U-Turn in the case of Rocky Helmet Mawile is a key trait to have for defensively backing up Exeggutor.
  • Physical sweepers like Swords Dance Combsuken, Shell Smash Crustle, and Z-Me First Pinsir use the support from Exeggutor's ability to break physical walls like Mareanie, Poliwrath, and Gourgiest-XL to facilitate their sweeps.
Mention entry hazard setters and removers because they're vital for Eggy (i.e picking up OHKOes and 2HKOes)

Moves
========
  • Sleep Powder can be used to hinder potential walls and switch ins.
  • Substitute takes advantage of the forced switches Exeggutor causes when in on a vulnerable wall.
Set Details
========
  • Grassium Z negates the lower accuracy and special attack debuff of Leaf Storm while also providing a huge one-time nuke. Mention what this is useful against (i.e frailer resists and certain walls)
Usage Tips
========
  • Use Sleep Powder to cripple initial switch ins to Leaf Storm and Psychic like Bronzor or Lickilicky and make them more manageable.
  • Be conservative with the the Z move, as Bloom Doom can either be used to secure a 2HKO on bulkier walls or 1HKO possibly anything later in the game. Should expand on this point slightly because Exeggutor often needs to pick the opportune time to use Bloom Doom as opposed to being able to punch through something with Psychic into Leaf Storm or something.
  • Exeggutor can switch into most passive Pokemon in the tier, as well as Ground types like Torterra and Golem. Grassium Z makes switching into a wall with Knock Off like Mareanie or Sandslash. (add an ending here to smooth out the point)
  • Sleep Powder into Substitute can give Exeggutor defense against incoming faster threats such as Rapidash or Silvally-Dark.
  • It can be beneficial to bluff that Exeggutor is Choice Specs, as there is overlap with 1HKOs like with Psychic on physically defensive Mareanie. Then, if the opponent has a Pursuit trapper like Silvally-Dark or Pawniard, they may switch one of those in not expecting the following 1HKO from Z-Leafstorm. SpD Mare lives non-Specs Psychic
Team Options
========
  • Fire types like Combusken and Simisear help break through the bulkier Steel and special defensive walls like Metang and Lickilicky for Exeggutor with their Fire and Fighting coverage. They also lure defensive Water and Ground types (give an example or two) that Exeggutor can switch into and Substitute on, or dispose of early to help with late game cleaning.
  • Water types like Mareanie and Silvally-Water can be good defensive pivots that provide Ice and Fire checks for Exeggutor, while it discourages Electric and Grass attacks for them.
  • Hazard support from Golem and Mareanie provides the chip damage needed to secure 1HKOs with Z-Leafstorm like against Leafeon or Rapidash, as well as regular KOs that do not waste the Z move like on Golem or Granbull.
  • In the same vein, keeping hazards off Exeggutor's side of the field lets it preserve its bulk, so removers like Silvally-Dark and Sandslash are useful to have.

Moves
========
  • Leech Seed provides both recovery and chip damage against walls and switch ins.
  • Substitute helps to stall with Leech Seed and Harvest while also providing defense against status and weaker attacks.
  • Protect could be considered over Giga Drain or Substitute as it stalls out turns to help trigger Harvest, but is much more passive and lacks the agency the other options provide.
Set Details
========
  • 176 speed EVs are used to outspeed Adamant Golem, Crustle, and Marowak.
80 HP EVs are relevant enough to describe even though they're not really intended for anything. Can say something like "this variant of Exeggutor lacks the breaking power of Choice Specs or Grassium Z variants, and benefits more from the slight increase in bulk than maximizing Speed to outspeed offensive Mawile and speed tying with opposing Exeggutor" Might be too wordy but that should give the gist of it (mainly that anything more than 4 EVs or not straight 252 EVs is worth addressing)

(or you can say smth like "the remaining 80 EVs were placed into HP as this variant of Exeggutor does not need maximum Speed investment")

Usage Tips
========
  • Use Substitute to scout for what the opponent may try to switch out into once Exeggutor is in on a favorable match up like Golem or Mareanie.
  • Leech Seed with Harvest support can be used to stall out potential checks like Bronzor and Lickilicky, forcing them to switch out or lose late game.
  • Switching into slower Ground types like Golem and Torterra can be less punishing with the passive recovery from Sitrus Berry, but watch out for Knock Off users like Sandslash and Mareanie. If you lose your Sitrus Berry before you consume it, Harvest will never activate.
  • Keep Exeggutor healthy, as at full it will always live U-Turns from offensive Silvally-Fighting and Silvally-Dark, while also be in range of triggering Sitrus Berry recovery.
Team Options
========
  • Walls that enjoy having Exeggutor as a Ground, Fighting, and Psychic resist like Mareanie, Metang, Mawile, and Poliwrath can be used to form a defensive core that helps check its revenge killers (give examples). Metang compounds the Dark- and Frre-type weakness.
  • Mawile and Poliwrath in particular with other Fairy and Dark types can be Knock Off and U-Turn switch ins when up against Pawniard or Silvally and Exeggutor is not healthy or behind a Substitute.
  • Toxic or Toxic Spike support from walls like Altaria, Golem, and Mareanie all help with Exeggutor outstalling opposing walls.
  • Cleaners like Combusken, Z-Me First Pinsir, and Z-Rain Dance Swanna appreciate how Exeggutor can wear down walls over time, putting them in range for these three to finish the job.
Mention entry hazard removers that can deal with TSpikes since those are annoying for sub eggy

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
  • Trick Room can be used with minimum speed investment and a Quiet nature for both more bulk and sweeping potential. Even with the extra HP, without Trick Room up it becomes vulnerable to attackers that it used to outspeed and dent like Granbull and Marowack.
  • Endure with Custap Berry provides pseudo-priority for Exeggutor to sweep when it is in Harvest range. This is dependent on the opponent not having actual priority or walls that would check this set, as well as Harvest activating repeatedly.
  • Life Orb with Sunny Day support can function on Sun teams as a dangerous special attacker that has the pro of 2HKOing Bronzor with HP Fire, but is worn down easily and cannot outspeed most scarfers even under Sun.
  • Swords Dance is an option to abuse Exeggutor's decent physical movepool, but is largely outclassed by the immediate power of its special sets.
Checks and Counters
===================

**Dark-types**: Dark-types like Silvally-Dark and Pawniard make Exeggutor think twice before using Psychic, and can punish completely with Pursuit or Swords Dance if locked into Psychic by Choice Specs. They can still be 1HKO'd by an incoming Choice Specs or Z boosted Leaf Storm, and thus best check Exeggutor with a free switch in.

**Special walls**: The huge special walls of the tier like Bronzor, Lickilicky, and Assault Vest Boufflant can take most hits, but have to be weary of being victim to Sleep Powder and Leech Seed stalling with the first two, or Psychock with the latter two.

**Faster Pokemon**: Exeggutor's mediocre speed means that faster threats ranging from Komala, Swanna, Rapidash, Purrugly, and more can threaten it with their super effective coverage or STABs. They usually cannot switch into Exeggutor though, and need a sack or special defensive pivot to have a chance at revenge killing.

**U-Turn**: U-Turn does tons of damage to Exeggutor, if not outright 1HKOing Exeggutor like in the case of Touccannon or Choice Band Komala. It is also vulnerable to weaker U-Turns from Silvally-Dragon and defensive Silvally-Fighting after some chip damage, which gives up momentum when it is in this range and forced out.

Entry hazard support from Sandslash and Mareanie provides the chip damage needed to secure OHKOs with Bloom Doom on Leafeon or Rapidash, as well as regular KOs with Leaf Storm on targets that do not waste require the Z-Move like on Golem or and Granbull.(space)In the same vein, keeping entry hazards off Exeggutor's side of the field lets it preserve its bulk, so entry hazard removers like Silvally-Dragon and Sandslash are useful to have.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Leech Seed provides both recovery and chip damage against walls and switch-ins. Substitute helps to stall with Leech Seed and Harvest while also providing protection against status and weak attacks. Protect could be considered over Giga Drain or Substitute, as it stalls out turns to help trigger Harvest, but it is makes Exeggutor much more passive and lacks the agency (not sure what this means in this context, if it's like. proactivity then this entire bit is honestly redundant) the other options provide.

Set Details
========

176 Speed EVs are ran run to outspeed Adamant Golem, Crustle, and Marowak. The remaining 80 HP EVs are invested into HP, (AC) as this Exeggutor set does not need full Speed investment (RC) and would rather have extra bulk.

Usage Tips
========

Use Substitute to scout for what the opponent may try to switch into in once Exeggutor is in on a favorable matchup like against Golem or Mareanie. Leech Seed with Harvest can be used to stall out potential checks like Bronzor and Lickilicky, forcing them to switch out or lose late-game. Switching into slower Ground-types like Golem and Torterra can be less punishing with the passive recovery from Sitrus Berry, but you must watch out for Knock Off users like Sandslash and Mareanie;(SC) if Exeggutor loses its Sitrus Berry before consuming it, Harvest will never activate. Keep Exeggutor healthy, as at full health, it will always live survive U-turns from offensive Silvally-Fighting and Silvally-Dark while also being and be put in range of triggering Sitrus Berry's recovery.

Team Options
========

Walls that enjoy having Exeggutor's resistances to Ground, Fighting, and Psychic like Mareanie, Mawile, and Poliwrath can be used to form a defensive core that helps check its revenge killers like Silvally-Dark and Komala. Mawile and Poliwrath in particular along with other Fairy- and Dark-types can be used as Knock Off and U-turn switch-ins (AH) when you're up against Pawniard or Silvally, given and Exeggutor is not healthy enough nor or behind a Substitute. Entry hazard removers or Poison-type teammates like Komala, Altaria, and Mareanie help remove Toxic Spikes, a dangerous entry hazard that would normally debilitate Exeggutor.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

===================

**Dark-types**: Dark-types like Silvally-Dark and Pawniard discourage Exeggutor from spamming Psychic (RC) and can punish it completely with Pursuit or Swords Dance once it's Choice locked into Psychic. They can still be OHKO'd OHKOed by an incoming Choice Specs- (AH) or Grassium Z-boosted (AH) Leaf Storm (RC) and thus best check Exeggutor with when given a free switch-in.

**Special Walls**: The huge special walls of the metagame like Bronzor, Lickilicky, and Assault Vest Boufflant Bouffalant can take most of Exeggutor's hits, but they have to be wary of being victim to Sleep Powder and Leech Seed stalling for the first former two (RC) or Psyshock for the latter two.

**Faster Pokemon**: Exeggutor's mediocre Speed means that faster threats ranging from like Komala, Swanna, Rapidash, and Purugly, and more can threaten it with their super effective coverage or STAB moves. They usually cannot switch into Exeggutor, (AC) though, and need a sack or special defensive pivot to have a chance at revenge killing it.

**U-turn**: U-turn does tons of damage to Exeggutor, if not outright OHKOing Exeggutor it like in the case of Toucannon or Choice Band Komala. It is also vulnerable to weaker U-turns from Silvally-Dragon and defensive Silvally-Fighting after some chip damage, which gives up momentum when it is in KO range and forced out.

Moves

Giga Drain is an easier to spam Grass-type STAB move that is easier to spam compared to Leaf Storm and provides extra recovery while preserving Exeggutor's Special Attack.

Set Details

Choice Specs and a Modest nature provide the most power for consistent wallbreaking.

Usage Tips
========

Exeggutor is meant to be a special wallbreaker and should threaten OHKOs on slower physical walls like Golem, Poliwrath, Sandslash, and Mareanie. The few key resistances Exeggutor has make switching into these aforementioned walls relatively safe, although it does have to worry about Knock Off coverage to preserve its wallbreaking potential or and Toxic to avoid being worn down. Keep Exeggutor healthy, as it can take weak U-turns from defensive Silvally-Fighting or and Silvally-Dragon and still nail the switch-in. Giga Drain is a much safer attack over Leaf Storm to threaten Golem or and Sandslash when the opponent may have Pursuit trappers or and setup sweepers like Silvally-Dark and Leafeon that could take advantage of the lowered Special Attack. Instead of risking being Choice-locked (AH), Exeggutor can double switch to a teammate when predicting a switch-in. In the same vein, Sleep Powder can be used first when predicting switches to walls like Bronzor and Lickilicky, making them easier for teammates to switch into Toxic as much.

Team Options
========

Set Details
========

Grassium Z negates the low accuracy and Special Attack debuff of Leaf Storm while also providing a huge one-time nuke for frailer resistant Pokemon and certain walls like Rapidash and Dusclops.

Usage Tips
========

========
