Exeggutor (ADV Ubers) [QC 0/2]

:rs/exeggutor:

[OVERVIEW]
Exeggutor may seem like an odd pick in the Ubers environment, but it has a lot of traits that no other pokemon in the tier can mimic. Its ability Chlorophyll increases its speed to higher amounts allowing it to outspeed Deoxys-Attack and Mewtwo giving it the possibility of cleaning late game and being able to use its moves without taking a hit. Because Exeggutor uses Special Attack, common specially defensive walls like Blissey, Snorlax, and the Eon twins wall it effectively. Its defensive utility is abysmal having numerous weaknesses and only two good resistances which are ground and fighting but it's not that good because most Pokemon have a move that either hits Exeggutor super effectively or status move. Exeggutor's biggest strength is its access to the combination of Sleep Powder and Explosion, luring most of its checks by either sleeping them or dealing a big chunk with Explosion. Exeggutor has a tough time switching in but if it does, it can wreak havoc by abusing its high speed by putting mons to sleep, 2HKOing steel types, heavily injuring one pokemon and gives an easier time switching in your own pokemon with Explosion makes it one of the best sun abusers in the tier.

[SET}
name: Standard
move 1: Sleep Powder
move 2: Solar Beam
move 3: Hidden Power Fire
move 4: Explosion
item: Leftovers
ability: Chlorophyll
nature: Rash
EVs: 36 Atk/ 252 SpA / 220 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Set Description
=========

Exeggutor's main game plan is to switch in safely, use Sleep Powder then use Explosion on incoming switch-ins. Avoid carelessly clicking Explosion because your opponent might use Protect, Substitute, or has a ghost type in the back. Make use of Exeggutor's few resistances like Metagross or Groudon's Earthquake and Deoxys-Attack's Superpower to switch in easier but avoid switching in too much in case they predict your move.

220 Speed allows you outspeed Max speed neutral Deoxys-Attack in the Sun with Hidden Power Fire IVs. Sleep Powder enables Exeggutor to almost shut down a foe by putting them to Sleep. Explosion deals a lot of damage to most of Exeggutor's switch-ins and could give a free switch to any of your teammates if they survive it. Hidden Power hits steel types like Forretress and Metagross. Stun Spore over Solar Beam helps slow down incoming Rayquaza and Latios, the rest of the team with Paralysis support, and is mainly used after using Sleep Powder.

Team Options
=============

Exeggutor doesn't have good offensive or defensive stats so teammates that cover its flaws are greatly appreciated. Groudon is mandatory because it sets up the sun, beats bulky Normal-types, and cripples Latios and Latias with Thunder Wave and it appreciates Exeggutor dealing a huge chunk to the Eon twins. Latias and Latios both check Exeggutor's biggest foe, Kyogre; Latias can defensively wall it with Calm Minds and threaten it with boosted Dragon Claws or Thunders, Latios on the other hand can offensively check Kyogre with strong Thunders. Snorlax is a great teammate being a great check to the Eon twins and also has the ability offensively pressure the opponent with its Choice Band set and Self-Destruct and can also use a Curse set helping against physical attackers such as Groudon and Metagross. Blissey is a more bulky version of Snorlax that not only checks the Eon twins but also Kyogre. Offensive teammates like Mewtwo and Deoxys-Attack give offensive pressure that Exeggutor lacks.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

A SubSeed set abuses the fact it is faster than almost everything in the tier then slowly draining their health down, but this is worse than the main set because the opponent can just switch out and you'll eventually run out of Leech Seed PP. Lum Berry helps Exeggutor switch into status moves like Groudon's Thunder Wave and Blissey's Toxic.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Kyogre**: Kyogre despite being weak to grass, is Exeggutor's biggest threat. Its rain removes the sun making Solar Beam a charge move and making Exeggutor slower; It also KOs Exeggutor with Ice Beam.

**Rayquaza**: Rayquaza nullifies the sun, removing Exeggutor's doubled speed and OHKOs Exeggutor with Hidden Power Flying.

**Latios and Latias**: Latios and Latias can switch in on Exeggutor's Solar Beam with their Soul Dew boosting their Special Defense and KOing Exeggutor with Ice Beam or Dragon Claw.

**Ho-oh: Ho-oh's typing lets it wall both Solar Beam and Hidden Power and it can use Substitute to avoid taking an Explosion.

**Specially defensive walls**: Specially Defensive walls like Blissey and Snorlax can shrug off Exeggutor's Solar Beams however, they still have to be wary of Explosion because it deals a great amount of damage to both of them.

**Faster Foes**: Victreebell and Shiftry are both faster than Exeggutor and they can threaten Exeggutor with super effective attacks.

**Ghost types**: Dusclops and Gengar are not only immune to Explosion but also their good special defense stats let them take Exeggutor's attacks; Gengar is also resistant to Grass-type moves.

Please remove [GP 0/2] from the title. It's barely in a forme that can be QCed.

I am gonna have to ask you re-write a huge part of this analysis and reference Grammar Standards because you make a lot of errors that can be easily avoided (examples include: you mentioning eternal sun, calling them Eon Twins instead of Latios and Latias). There's also a few general grammar errors, feel free to ask anyone on the QC team with help with that.

Onto actual QC work, I don't think you explain what the upside and downside of using Exeggutor; it's not the best offensive threat in the sun, it needs sun to function and it doesn't help sun's problematic match-ups (bulky Lati@s, Kyogre, opposing Ho-Oh etc). You HAVE to explain why it's good (spreading status, decent-ish vs opposing sun, can take 1 CB E-Speed even after 3 layers of Spikes and most importantly, can remove ONE key threat with Explosion). It's a mon that best case scenario gets a status off, chips one opponent and Booms for a KO. Worst case is you click Sleep Powder against Mewtwo and get Ice Beam OHKOed / they click Protect with Snorlax and you die from Explosion.

Fix the name of the set; GP checkers don't appreciate "flavor" names for sets unless it's a very common name (eg "Demon Etern" for the Cosmic Power + Meteor Beam set or "Crocune" for the infamous Suicune). The EVs are also wrong; you need 36 HP / 252 SpA / 220 Spe Rash Nature because you forgot to account for HP Fire dropping your Speed. On the move section, you don't need to explain self-explanatory stuff like Solar Beam. Hidden Power Fire, on the other hand you have to NAME what it's supposed to hit. Steel-types? Which ones? Skarmory isn't what comes to mind when I think of Ubers Steels, it's Metagross. Explosion isn't "when its job is done" it's the reason to use over, say, Victreebel. Explain what move Stun Spore would replace and why, but don't mention Rayquaza as a target, please. It dies to Explosion.

Team options, what does "Powder support" even mean? Just say that it needs the sun up to work properly else it does nothing. Emphasize just how bad your match-up against Kyogre is and how many things you need to add as teammates to ensure you don't lose Groudon's sun and/or Exeggutor in the process. Sun is MANDATORY, explain that. Blissey and Latias both fit as good defensive answers to Kyogre, Latios is a more offensive option especially with the Refresh + Recover set. Deoxys-A if it can switch in safely will be a very good and effective cleaner, either employing a good ol' CB set or SubPetaya running Thunder for it.

In checks and counters format it like this:
  • other weather (kyogre + tyranitar)
  • Rayquaza (unique way to kill you)
  • Special Walls (Snorlax and Blissey, especially so if they run Protect)
  • Ho-Oh (yes.)
  • Other sun abusers (victreebel and Shiftry both outspeed and can OHKO)

let me know when you implement all of these and I'll check it again. If you get stuck, ping the QC role in ADV Ubers discord or just try and find me on discord (Lasen#2646) or in the PS room.

:rs/exeggutor:

[OVERVIEW]

(I want the overview to tell me why Exeggutor is good and why it's bad and it still doesn't. It puts something to sleep, booms on someting else and can potentially clean late game. BUT! It also sucks versus rain or if the opponent can predict your explosion. Defensively it offers next to nothing as the ground resistance is worthless when Groudon can T-Wave / HP Ghost / Flamethrower and all 3 effectively remove it.
Exeggutor looks like an odd pick in the Ubers environment, but it has its niche with its ability Chlorophyll being able to double its speed in Groudon's sun making it outspeed Deoxys-Attack and Mewtwo (and then do what? Please explain why outspeeding them is important because you cannot take a hit from them). Exeggutor's STAB combination is quite useless only being able to hit very few targets.
It's because its low bulk and bad typing gives it many vulnerabilities to common coverage moves such as Fire and Ice and also its very low Special Defense stat lets it get KOd by common special attackers such as Kyogre and the Eon twins but it can switch in on Groudon's Earthquake. (I have no clue what this means)
Exeggutor isn't a strong offensive threat, far from it, but instead it offers the sleep status, which is rarely seen in Ubers, Paralysis support(stun spore is a secondary option, don't mention it here) and Explosion. Exeggutor's advantage over other sun abusers like Victreebel and Shiftry is of its access to Explosion (Shifty literally runs CB explosion... it combines the attributes of both Victreebel which has access to Sleep Powder and Shiftry which can explode) and its decently high special attack stat with a strong STAB Solar Beam. (Again, reference the GP standards from before. Shit like "Special Attack" is capitalized and don't say "Lati twins" off the get-go. Just say "Latios and Latias" and once you think you've overused it, change it to "Eon/Lati twins".)

[SET]

move 4: Explosion

ability: Chlorophyll
nature: Rash
evs: 40 HP / 252 SpA / 220 Spe (36 HP)

[SET COMMENTS]
Set Description
=========

(please reference other analyses to see the order of explanation. EVs usually go at the very end)
  • 220 Speed allows you outspeed max Speed neutral Deoxys-Attack in the Sun with Hidden Power Fire IVs., Max Special attack is for more damage output and the rest of the EVs are put into HP.(needless info, reader should be expected to figure it out that a special attacker uses max SpA)
  • Sleep Powder enables Exeggutor to completely shut down a mon(replace all "mon" mentions with foe or Pokemon) by sleeping them putting them to sleep.
  • Explosion is what differentiates it over other sun abusers. It's ability to deal a big amount to common switch ins such as Blissey and the Eon twins makes it a good lure. (Shiftry also has Explosion. It's the combo with SPowder, just say it can blow up Latios, Latias, Blissey, Snorlax and chunk Ho-Oh.)
  • Hidden Power allows it to hit steel types like Skarmory, Metagross and Forretress super effectively
  • Stun Spore over Hidden Power Fire helps slow down incoming Rayquaza and Latios, helps the rest of the team with Paralysis support and its mainly used after using Sleep Powder. (refer to the previous check.)
Team Options
=============
  • Exeggutor only fits on sun teams because it is useless without the ineffective outside of sun.
  • Groudon is mandatory partner because of its ability Drought and Exeggutor needs the sun in order to work because of its underwhelming speed stat and lets it freelys Solar Beam from a charge up turn. It can possibly lure the Eon twins with the combination of Thunder Wave and Swords Dance and finally it forces out Blissey and Snorlax.
  • Groudon is mandatory because it sets up the sun, can beat bulky Normal-types, and cripples Latios and Latias with Thunder Wave.
  • Kyogre checks are mandatory necessary because Exeggutor can't do anything without the sun. The Eon twins can threaten Kyogre with Thunder or set up with Calm Minds and just walling it.
  • Specially defensive walls like Snorlax and Blissey can switch in and check Eon twins. (mention that Blissey can also check Kyogre)
  • Strong physical attackers such as Rayquaza and Choice Band Deoxys-Attack helps against Blissey and Snorlax. (mention what else they can pick off; like Kyogre! or other sun abusers!!!)
  • Deoxys-Attack is a strong partner that can run a Choice Band set checking to offensive check chipped Kyogre and Special walls. It also has priority with Extreme Speed checking opposing Deoxys-Attack and Rayquaza (why is this a different bullet point? Why is the special set not mentioned?)
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
  • A SubSeed set abuses the fact it is faster than almost everything in the tier then slowly draining their health down, but this is worse than the main set because the opponent can just switch out and you'll eventually run out of Leech Seed PP.
Checks and Counters
===================

(fix the formatting, reference the skeleton thread)
  • Weather Removal: (Rayquaza and Kyogre removes Exeggutor's sun away making Exeggutor think twice of clicking Solar Beam and then KOing Exeggutor with super effective moves. Exeggutor heavily relies on the sun as its main source and without sun, it's vulnerable to faster threats.)
  • Eon twins: (Both Latios and Latias can switch in on Exeguttor's Solar Beam with their Soul Dew boosting their Special Defense even further but they still need to be wary of Explosion.)
  • Fire Moves: (Fire moves from Groudon and Ho-oh straight up OHKOs Exeggutor.)
  • Specially defensive walls: (Specially Defensive walls like Blissey and Snorlax are able to shrug off Exeggutor's Solar Beams. However, they still have to be wary of Explosion that deals a ton of damage to both of them.)
  • Priority: (Priority users such as Deoxys-Attack and Rayquaza is capable of dealing a strong amount of Damage to it.)
  • Other Sun abusers: (Victreebell and Shiftry threaten to K )(they threaten to what now)

this concludes it for now. I'll probably need to check this again in the future. As I said: no stamp yet, I feel like I'll have more comments later this week.

[OVERVIEW]
Exeggutor may seem like an odd pick in the Ubers environment, but it has a combination lot of traits that no other pokemon Pokemon in the tier can mimic does. Its ability Chlorophyll increases its speed to higher amounts doubles its Speed in the sun, allowing it to outspeed Mewtwo and neutral Speed nature Deoxys-Attack and Mewtwo giving it the possibility of cleaning late game and being able to use its moves without taking a hit making it quite hard to revenge kill while it sets up its offensive teammates (changed up because Eggy isn't a hardcore lategame mon, it's more of a mid-to-late-game transistor that booms and disables a mon through status; lmk if you want to discuss this further). Because Exeggutor uses Special Attack is a special attacker, common specially defensive walls like Blissey, Snorlax, and the Eon twins Latios, and Latias(don't use "Eon twins" unless you're avoiding repetition) wall it effectively are prime targets for Exeggutor to use Explosion against. However, Its defensive utility is abysmal having numerous weaknesses and only two good resistances which are ground and fighting but it's not that good because most Pokemon have a move that either hits Exeggutor super effectively or status move(This is worded as one big sentence and is really difficult to follow. Break it into smaller sentences, don't use the word abysmal as it's too negative. Say something like "Exeggutor's typing does it no favors defensively, spotting multiple weaknesses to common attacking typings and having poor special bulk.") Exeggutor's biggest strength is its access to the combination of Sleep Powder and Explosion(move this point above the point made about luring special walls and merge it into one sentence), luring most of its checks by either sleeping them or dealing a big chunk with Explosion.
(make an extra point in the overview explaining just HOW reliant on Groudon/sun Eggy is. It needs to be made clear it's not the best and it has a lot of problems- the analysis as of now is too positive.)

Exeggutor's main game plan is to switch in safely, use Sleep Powder then use Explosion on incoming switch-ins. Avoid carelessly clicking Explosion because your opponent might use Protect, Substitute, or has a ghost type in the back. (don't use first person. It should be "Explosion is a great tool to punish incoming specially bulky foes and especially so Latios and Latias.")Make use of Exeggutor's few resistances like Metagross or Groudon's Earthquake and Deoxys-Attack's Superpower to switch in easier but avoid switching in too much in case they predict your move. (don't tell people to switch their Exeggutor in on a Metagross or a Deoxys-A. Ever.)

220 Speed EVs allows you Exeggutor to outspeed Max speed neutral Speed nature Deoxys-Attack in the sun Sun with Hidden Power Fire IVs. (unnecessary cluttering) Sleep Powder enables Exeggutor to almost shut down a foe by putting them to Sleep. Explosion deals a lot of damage to most of Exeggutor's switch-ins and could give a free switch to any of your teammates if they survive it. Hidden Power hits Steel-types(AH) like Forretress and Metagross. Stun Spore over Solar Beam helps slow down incoming Rayquaza and Latios, the rest of the team with Paralysis support, and is mainly used after using Sleep Powder. (this is confusing. You would USE Stun Spore on an incoming foe after landing Sleep Powder is what you mean, right?)
(Give proper explanations to your moves in the first body paragraph and then move into explaining what the EVs do etc cause right now it's a bit disorganised.)

Team Options
=============

Exeggutor doesn't have good offensive or defensive stats so teammates that cover its flaws are greatly appreciated Exeggutor is reliant on sun being present to be successful and as such requires heavy support from its teammates. Groudon's Drought is essential for Exeggutor is mandatory because it sets up the sun, beats checking bulky Normal-types like Snorlax and Blissey and cripples crippling Latios and Latias with Thunder Wave. (Added Period) and it appreciates Exeggutor dealing a huge chunk to the Eon twins. In return, Exeggutor can use Explosion to pressure or KO Latios and Latias. Latias and Latios both check Exeggutor's biggest foe, Kyogre; Latias can defensively wall check it with Calm Minds and threaten it with boosted Dragon Claws or Thunders, while Latios forces it out. on the other hand can offensively check Kyogre with strong Thunders. Snorlax is another a great teammate being a great check to the Eon twins and can make a good partner in Explosion themed teams. also has the ability offensively pressure the opponent with its Choice Band set and Self-Destruct and can also use a Curse set helping against physical attackers such as Groudon and Metagross. Blissey is a more bulky bulkier version of Snorlax that not only checks the Eon twins but also Latios, Latias, and Kyogre simultaneously. Offensive teammates like Mewtwo and Deoxys-Attack give offensive pressure that Exeggutor lacks. can sweep the opposing team once Exeggutor has sufficiently weakened their shared checks.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

A SubSeed set abuses the fact it is faster than almost everything in the tier then takes advantage of Exeggutor's speed in the sun to slowly draining their health down its opponent's HP, but the offensive pressure the main set provides is usually more valuable. this is worse than the main set because the opponent can just switch out and you'll eventually run out of Leech Seed PP. Lum Berry helps Exeggutor switch into status moves like Groudon's Thunder Wave and Blissey's Toxic.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Kyogre**: Kyogre despite being weak to grass, is Exeggutor's biggest threat. Its rain removes the sun making Solar Beam a charge move and making Exeggutor slower; It also KOs Exeggutor with Ice Beam. Kyogre's Drizzle is detrimental to Exeggutor, ridding it of its speed boost, lowering SolarBeam's effectiveness and OHKOing with Ice Beam. It does not appreciate being hit by Explosion, however.

**Rayquaza**: Rayquaza nullifies the sun, removing Exeggutor's doubled speed and OHKOs Exeggutor with Hidden Power Flying.

**Latios and Latias**: Latios and Latias can switch in on Exeggutor's SolarBeam with their Soul Dew boosting their Special Defense and KOing Exeggutor with Ice Beam or Dragon Claw. (can take its special attacks and threaten it out. Dont like explosion/status)

**Ho-Oh(capitalize the O in Ho-Oh): Ho-Oh's typing lets it wall both Solar Beam and Hidden Power and it can use Substitute to avoid taking an Explosion. Ho-Oh can take any combination of hits from Exeggutor and recover all of its lost HP back.

**Specially defensive Walls Snorlax and Blissey**: Specially defensive walls like Blissey and Snorlax can shrug off Exeggutor's SolarBeams and can absorb its status moves. However, they still have to be wary of Explosion because it deals a great amount of damage to both of them.

**Faster Foes Opposing Chlorophyll users**: Victreebell and Shiftry are both faster than Exeggutor and they can threaten Exeggutor it with super effective attacks.

**Ghost types**: Dusclops and Gengar are not only immune to Explosion but also their good special defense stats let them take Exeggutor's attacks. (semi-colon to period) Gengar is also resistant to Grass-type moves.

I've spent way too long on trying to make this fit the QC/GP standards so if it's in an awful position after you implement these changes, I will have to reject this completely and just write it myself because this is basically what I've done already. It's simply ridiculous and I loathe having to comb through this entire thing and knowing I eventually have to finish it. It's taken months. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but it's the truth.
