name: Extreme Killer (Swords Dance)
move 1: Swords Dance
move 2: Extreme Speed
move 3: Shadow Claw
move 4: Taunt / Recover / Earthquake
item: Silk Scarf / Leftovers / Lum Berry
ability: Multitype
nature: Adamant
evs: 200 HP / 252 Atk / 56 Spe
tera type: Normal / Ghost / Fire

[SET COMMENTS]
  • The combination of Swords Dance and STAB Extreme Speed turns Arceus into a deadly setup sweeper.
  • Shadow Claw hits Giratina-O and Skeledirge hard, especially if Arceus has Terastallized into the Ghost-type.
  • Taunt denies opposing recovery and blocks status moves such as Will-O-Wisp from Giratina-O and Skeledirge, but Recover can let Arceus acquire multiple boosts, making it nigh unstoppable.
  • Earthquake hits Toxapex and Zacian-C hard while doing respectable damage to Skeledirge.
  • A Silk Scarf lets Arceus secure important benchmarks such as OHKOing offensive Kyogre at +2 with Extreme Speed. Alternatively, Leftovers offers more longevity, while Lum Berry offers extra insurance against status effects.
  • The given EV spread and nature maximize Arceus's damage output and let it outspeed Adamant Rayquaza, with the rest of the EVs going into HP to facilitate setup.
  • Tera Normal boosts Extreme Speed to absurd levels, letting Arceus OHKO offensive Koraidon at +2 if holding a Silk Scarf.
  • Alternatively, Tera Ghost is useful for preventing Koraidon and Zacian-C from revenge killing it. It also boosts Shadow Claw against targets such as Giratina-O and Skeledirge.
  • Tera Fire makes Arceus immune to burn, which is helpful against Skeledirge and Giratina-O.
  • Swords Dance Arceus is a good fit on hyper offense and bulky offense, working best as a late-game sweeper when checks such as Corviknight, Zacian-C, and Skeledirge are weakened or removed. With Extreme Speed, Arceus also serves as an emergency check to opposing sweepers.
  • Good teammates for Arceus include Zacian-C, Groudon, and Koraidon, which share similar checks such as Corviknight and Skeledirge and can wear them down for Arceus to sweep.

I really don't like Life Orb, I think Lum Berry is much more optimal as a slash since it lets Recover Arceus have a chance against Wisp users (or lets Taunt Arceus have to play less mindgames against Skeledirge and Giratina-O who may be anticipating a Taunt and attacking)

Alternatively, Tera Ghost lets Arceus avoid being revenge killed by Close Combat from Zacian-C and opposing Extreme Speed users. It also lets Arceus set up against or avoid being revenge killed by Koraidon.
Close Combat is really not commonly run on Zacian-C anymore. On the other hand, no mention of Tera Ghost letting Shadow Claw hit Skele and Giratina-O harder? That seems pretty important

Tera Normal boosts Extreme Speed to absurd levels, letting Arceus OHKO offensive Koraidon if holding a Silk Scarf or Life Orb.
You should specify if this is at +2

Implemented, but imo Close Combat is still relevant on Zacian, for 1760 stats in June, it was used over 50% of the time. You can veto this if you want but I think it's better to keep it

In this case, you can shorten the paragraph by combining Zacian-C and Koraidon by saying something like "useful to prevent revenge killing from Koraidon and Zacian-C".

I'm not sure if Earthquake is worth a slash at all, it leaves you completely walled by Gira-O and Taunt should prevent Pex from doing too much against you.

Besides that looks okay QC 1/2

I'll keep EQ for now but the 2nd QCer should make a decision on this

move 4: Taunt / Recover
If we're going Earthquake at all, I'd say as a mention after Taunt / Recover in the analysis. It’s generally not a great move but it does let you flip the Zacian mu and hit Dirge a bit harder without Tera. Shadow Claw is entirely necessary however.

Swords Dance Arceus is a good fit on hyper offense, and works best late-game when checks such as Corviknight, Zacian-C, and Skeledirge are weakened or removed.
while it’s fine on HO, I’d mention that it’s also equally good on BO as a way to revenge kill sweepers that get out of control. I also think you should mention teammates that share these checks and wear them down, such as Zacian-C / Groudon / Koraidon.

  • Shadow Claw hits Giratina-O very hard, especially if Arceus has Terastallized into the Ghost-type.

Mention Skeledirge in the shadow claw paragraph and take out the “very” in the sentence.

  • Earthquake hits Toxapex and Clodire hard while doing respectable damage to Skeledirge.
I’d completely remove the Clodsire mention and replace it with Zacian-C as well since Clodsire isn’t taking Extreme Speed well either.
