Introduction:

Although :Araquanid: has made a breakthrough in the OU metagame, there are still people smokin that :Ribombee: copium on the ladder rn. So, I’ve made this team to finally prove once and for all that :Araquanid: is better not only as a webs setter then :Ribombee:, but is also the better Pokémon in general.

Ripples (Araquanid) @ Custap Berry
Ability: Water Bubble
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 92 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sticky Web
- Hydro Pump
- Endeavor
- Reflect

Back at it again to prove his dominance as a webs setter in the current meta, :Araquanid: has returned with a new set to adapt to countermeasures against it. As of late on the ladder I’ve noticed that people have began to anti-lead :Araquanid: with stuff like :Ogerpon-wellspring: and :roaring_moon:, so I’ve adjusted the set and ev spread as a result. This set now has enough defense to live an Acrobatics from Jolly natured :roaring_moon: even with the attack boost, and I’ve added Reflect to help against set up attempts from the opponent as well. (As a side bonus you now also live Choice Band Tera Dragon Dragon Darts from :dragapult: which is another anti-Araquanid lead I’ve seen been used). Reflect also lets you set up with your own teamates as well against normal leads, and in particular :iron_valiant: can set up against opposing :samurott-Hisui: and :raging_bolt: can take advantage of :ogerpon_wellspring:(GOATED suggestion by JoltinJoe btw shoutouts to him). Now I know what u might be thinking, “oh but the defense investment makes u miss out on OHKOs against the ground hazard removers,” which is why I’ve now opted for Hydro Pump to OHKO bulky :landorus-therian: even with the current more defensive evs. Lastly we have endeavor to hit water resists for reliable chip and revenge chip incoming set up sweepers. Thus, there is literally 0 rebuttal from midbombee copers that can justify using it over :Araquanid:, who is more flexible, sets webs more reliably, support its teammates, and can actually last on the field for more then two turns. Let’s make :Araquanid: an OU staple and get people off the shit bee (I’m Duckular the :Araquanid: for OU campaign manager and I approve of this message).

broken cd (Gholdengo) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Good as Gold
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Shadow Ball
- Dazzling Gleam
- Make It Rain

Very standard :Gholdengo: for HO. Because the rest of the team is extremely good into bulkier teams this set can afford to run Make it Rain over recover to hit bulkier neutral targets like SD :Gliscor:, :Primarina:, and :Garganacl: in a pinch. Shadow Ball is there for reliable and consistent STAB and with Tera Fairy Dazzling Gleam you can take hits from Knockers like :Weavile: and OHKO most :Kingambit: after rocks chip at plus two and with a Modest nature. Air Balloon to switch into rapid spinners :great_tusk: and :iron_treads:. Not much to explain here lol just ur average Gholdengo.

Charlie Brown (Iron Treads) @ Booster Energy
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earth Power
- Steel Beam
- Rapid Spin

:iron_treads: is only here over :great_tusk: for one reason: because this team is really bad into lead :raging_bolt: lmao. Thankfully tho the trade off isn’t too terrible as :iron_treads: makes up for the loss in power by reliably setting up rocks and absolutely destroying the hopes and dreams of :Glimmora: and :great_tusk: users attempting to spin webs away. I’ve opted for a special set to anti lead :Glimmora: since it’s getting increasingly hard to tell whether they’re running Focus Sash, Red Card, or Power Herb now just based on team structure, and because the Earth Power + Steel Beam OHKOs offensive :great_tusk: variants. Overall a very underrated utility partner for :Araquanid: that helps the rest of our team sweep.

Horen Sarrison (Raging Bolt) @ Booster Energy
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 20 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Thunderclap
- Dragon Pulse
- Discharge

Webs sweeper #1, so far I’ve been extremely happy with my experience using :raging_bolt: so far. The main problem with :raging_bolt: on midbombee teams I feel is that because the bee is so terrible at doing it’s one job, in matchups where webs aren’t up :raging_bolt: has an extremely difficult time getting anything done since Thunderclap is very easy to play and predict around. Thankfully however, since the introduction of my GOAT :Araquanid:, getting webs ups and keeping them up has gone from a chore to second nature. Max speed investment and a Modest nature lets you outspeed :roaring_moon: after webs are up and maximizes its damage output. Thunderclap is used to kill boots spammers such as :Darkrai: and :zamazenta:, as well as to chip any mons attempting to revenge kill :raging_bolt: like :Kingambit: for big damage before going down. Dragon Pulse and Discharge are here for consistent STAB damage, and I’ve opted for Discharge over Thunderbolt for that juicy secondary effect of paralysis and because the extra damage from Thunderbolt doesn’t usually matter. Overall a Mon I’d like to experiment with much more on my webs teams now that :Araquanid: has been discovered.

Soren (Samurott-Hisui) @ Black Glasses
Ability: Sharpness
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Ceaseless Edge
- Aqua Cutter
- Sucker Punch
- Swords Dance

Our resident dark type, :samurott-Hisui: is here for sweeping, setting up spikes, and for revenge killing stuff. With Black Glasses and Swords Dance, you’re able to pick up a lot of kills on mons such as :Moltres: and deal big damage to the metal birds. Ceaseless Edge is an amazing move so I’m not gonna explain that one lol. Aqua Cutter is opted for over Razor Shell for its amazing crit chance, more reliable accuracy and because the power trade off is barely noticeable. Lastly, Sucker Punch along with the item boost lets you outpace priorty users like :Rillaboom: and most importantly threaten :dragapult: out. Also becomes your secondary source of revenge killing against sweepers if :raging_bolt: ever goes down. Had a lot of fun experimenting with a variant of this that was adamant and Tera dark in my Sandy Shocks video (go check that shit out on my YT lol it’s floppin hard), but I’ve since changed the Tera to ghost in order to block spin attempts from :great_tusk: and to beat Extreme Speed :Dragonite:, and the nature to Jolly in order to outpace Choice Band :Zamazenta: after webs are up. Overall another webs Mon I’ve had fun using and experimenting with.

Back to Mars (Iron Valiant) @ Booster Energy
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Moonblast
- Shadow Ball
- Psyshock

Because the team struggled with bulkier teams and :dragapult:, I need a Fairy mon that could dismantle both of these opps for webs. Enter Special Attack booster :Iron_Valiant:. After a Calm Mind boost, nothing in the tier barring :Moltres: can switch in safely to this monster. Shadow Ball and Moonblast grant you perfect coverage, Tera ghosts lets you set up on stall teams and revenge kill :dragonite:, and because the last slot on this set is so flexible, I’ve opted for psyshock to just absolutely destroy its usual stall checks in :Clodsire: (my beef with stall has since ended tho we chill now lol). Overall a very potent win condition if you position it right.

Conclusion:

People of OU, do we really want a webs lead who can’t even take hits from the likes of :iron_crown: and gets 6-0d by literally any :Iron_Moth: set? Or do we want a webs user who is reliable, dependable, helpful and can actually do its job? Please, I beg of you dear reader, for the betterment of webs viability and success in this tier we call home, I implore you to get people off using midbombee and make :Araquanid: an official OU member for the betterment of HO and for the tier as a whole. Thank you for your time and good night tri-state area.

My man is back. Couldn't be happier to see more innovation in the Araquanid nation. Once my stall learning arc I am jumping straight back into webs because I need my dose of dopamine again. (Featuring mimikyu ofc).

Seems really weak to any Cinderace team though, I tried swapping Samu for Moon and it felt a bit more consistent just to have at least one mon that could boost its speed past the boots guys

The problem I have recently suffered when using Araquanid, and also I have taken advantage of when playing against it, is CB Rillaboom as an anti-lead OHKOing our beloved spider with ease using Wood Hammer
