Ferroseed @ Eviolite
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 216 Def / 40 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Spikes / Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Gyro Ball
- Protect

Ferroseed's great defensive typing and Eviolite-boosted bulk make it a solid choice for an entry hazard setter in PU, keeping powerful threats such as Aggron, Kangaskhan, and Skuntank under control if they lack the appropriate coverage. What sets Ferroseed apart from other entry hazard setters such as Mudsdale and Froslass is Leech Seed, giving it a form of recovery and wearing down switch-ins that could take advantage of it at the same time. Ferroseed can also check entry hazard removers like Alolan Sandslash and Cryogonal lacking Hidden Power Fire much more reliably with its typing and immunity to Toxic. However, Ferroseed struggles with immense passivity and vulnerability to coverage moves and Knock Off, which can sometimes make it inconsistent. Because of this, Ferroseed should be paired with Pokemon like Stoutland and Swanna, which appreciate the support of entry hazards and can break past Pokemon that can exploit Ferroseed such as Jellicent, Eelektross, and Gurdurr.

Ferroseed's great defensive typing and Eviolite-boosted bulk make it a solid choice for an entry hazard setter in PU, keeping on top of powerful threats such as Aggron, Kangaskhan, and Skuntank if they lack the appropriate coverage. What sets Ferroseed apart from other entry hazards such as Mudsdale and Froslass is its access to Leech Seed, giving it a form of recovery and wearing down switch-ins that could take advantage of it at the same time. Ferroseed can also check entry hazard removers like Cryogonal (well, hp fire cryo is very common rn, same thing for offensive cryo that just 2hkoes it) and Alolan Sandslash much more reliably with its typing and immunity and Toxic. However, Ferroseed struggles with immense passivity and vulnerability to coverage moves and Knock Off, which can sometimes make it inconsistent. Ferroseed's great defensive typing and Eviolite-boosted bulk make it a solid choice for an entry hazard setter in PU, keeping on top of powerful threats such as Aggron, Kangaskhan, and Skuntank under control (maybe? initial word choice is off at least) if they lack the appropriate coverage. What also sets Ferroseed apart from other entry hazard setters such as Mudsdale and Froslass is its access to Leech Seed, giving it a form of recovery and wearing down switch-ins that could take advantage of it at the same time.
