Hi everyone! I'm Inscribe, or some of you may know me as kektus, someone who plays the Little Cup metagame very often. While laying in my bed, I was having a very vivid dream about bird spam.. and I wondered if I could recreate bird spam, but with other top-tier offensive types that rule the Little Cup metagame; and the type I would build my team around would happen to become something known to me as:
fighting spam #1 (Mienfoo) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Regenerator
Level: 5
EVs: 156 Atk / 116 Def / 236 Spe
Jolly Nature
- High Jump Kick
- U-turn
- Knock Off
- Drain Punch
Mienfoo is one half of my Fighting Spam core, you could say. Choice Scarf Mienfoo provides a lot of power with High Jump Kick, 2HKOing Eviolite Vullaby with High Jump Kick after Stealth Rock. Also, on the occasion that I have Stealth Rock & one/two Spikes up, Mienfoo can pretty much threaten to 2HKO/HKO the entire Metagame with High Jump Kick. Mienfoo helps kill threats like Gastly and Abra, and hits many variants of Chinchou really hard.
fighting spam #2 (Timburr) @ Eviolite
Ability: Guts
EVs: 76 HP / 196 Atk / 76 Def / 156 SpD
Impish Nature
- Drain Punch
- Knock Off
- Mach Punch
- Bulk Up
Timburr is the last piece of my 'Fighting Spam' core. Timburr provides Status Absorbing and can switch in to scary things like Larvesta or Duskull, which can otherwise pretty much sweep my team entirely if Gastly is dead, which might happen often, due to its mediocre bulk. Timburr helps my team out a bunch since it's my only Priority user, having Mach Punch, and can easily kill some Shell Smashers.
THE CLEANERS
cleaner #2 (Magnemite) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sturdy
Level: 5
EVs: 240 SpA / 236 Spe
Modest Nature
- Volt Switch
- Flash Cannon
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ground]
Magnemite is my main check to set-up sweepers such as Clamperl, and can check Flying-types pretty easily. With Hidden Power [Ground], Magnemite can also wear down several Chinchou variants, making the late game sweep a lot easier. Magnemite also aids me in wearing down scary sweepers like Gastly or Abra, which would otherwise sweep my team.
cleaner #3 (Gastly) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
Level: 5
EVs: 40 Def / 196 SpA / 76 SpD / 196 Spe
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Bomb
- Substitute
- Psychic
Gastly is my main check to scary Fairy-types like Snubbull or Spritzee; which would wall my team otherwise. I run Substitute to get free Substitutes on Thunder Waves/Foongus'/Shroomish's Spore, which helps me kill these big threats, and potentially sweep the opposing team. Gastly provides an amazing check to the Regenerator core (Slowpoke, Foongus, Mienfoo) due to Psychic/Shadow Ball pretty much OHKOing the entire core.
cleaner #1 (Abra) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Magic Guard
Level: 5
EVs: 240 SpA / 200 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Energy Ball
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Protect
Abra is the last member of the Pokemon designed to clean up the field to allow my amazing 'Fighting Spammers' to sweep up. The set is pretty standard, Abra is for checking Foongus and denting the opposing team by a lot. Abra provides a second check to scary Shell Smashers, and other Set-up sweepers. Protect helps me dodge Fake Outs and scout for certain items/moves, like Choice Scarf Mienfoo, Trick Gastly, etc.
THE HAZARD GOD
(not a gen 6 sprite,, so dank..)
hazard setter (Ferroseed) @ Eviolite
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 84 HP / 36 Atk / 188 Def / 148 SpD / 36 Spe
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Bullet Seed
- Iron Head
- Thunder Wave
This is the last and probably most useful Pokemon on this team. Ferroseed provides the ever-so-prominent Stealth Rock, and he provides amazing support in Thunder Wave, allowing me to deal with big threats that would otherwise be a pain in the ass. The rest of the set is pretty much self explanatory. Iron Head hits the threatening Fairy-types that can sweep me if I lose Gastly too early, and Bullet Seed is just an amazing STAB that hits Drilbur, and people that lead with their Shell Smasher for some reason.
BIG THREATS:
EleSkit: EleSkit, or honestly, any Sticky Web team is going to be a pain in the ass, and extremely difficult to defeat. Psychic Elekid with something to hit Magnemite can easily sweep my team if I'm not careful. I'm considering switching something out for Drilbur, not sure who though.
Fletchling: Honestly, I haven't had any trouble with Fletchling throughout my laddering so far, but I believe this is so because everyone didn't expect the Choice Scarf Magnemite (I think???????!?!),,even so, Fletchling can't really hit Magnemite unless you're running Overheat or Hidden Power Ground (kek). Based on this, I think any player that plays Fletchling correctly can easily sweep my team.
Drifloon: This may sound funny, but Drifloon is a huge threat to my team. Unburden Berry Juice outspeeds all of my Choice Scarfed Pokemon and OHKOes/2HKOes them all. Nothing in my team wants to switch into an Acrobatics barring Magnemite and Ferroseed, but they have no recovery and are easily worn down. When Magnemite and Ferroseed are weakened, I pretty much get swept by this thing.
