Hello, Everyone. This is my first time writing my team report on the Smogon forum.
I was able to finish season 22 within 2 digits.
IGN:Luna
During season 22, I thought that the standard team was very strong, so I started using Dragonite, Gholdengo, Ursaluna-Blood Moon and Archaludon.
I could feel the rapid transformation of the meta so I was able to fix the strategy based on the changes.
This is the team I used.
Be aware that rental codes may not work because I always change the teams.
Archaludon @ Leftovers
Ability: Stamina
Level: 50
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 HP / 76 Def / 4 SpA / 100 SpD / 76 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Flash Cannon
- Body Press
- Roar
- Stealth Rock
Archaludon was very strong in this meta. The presence of this Pokemon forces my opponent to think about what the opponent will use, especially scale shot or extreme speed.
The EVs are simple. Max HP and def 76 for magic number (176) Speed 76 to outspeed timid max speed Ursaluna-Blood Moon and SpD invested.
It was simple but very strong.
Gholdengo @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Good as Gold
Level: 50
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 52 HP / 4 Def / 148 SpA / 52 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Make It Rain
- Shadow Ball
- Trick
- Nasty Plot
This is the Gholdengo set I used, I invested in EVs like these so I could play against Porygon 2 very well (download).
I have nothing to say about this set because Gholdengo itself was strong.
Dragonite @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Multiscale
Level: 50
Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Extreme Speed
- Earthquake
- Ice Spinner
- Dragon Dance
I decided to use this set because thanks to heavy-duty boots, It did not have any issue against Stealth Rock. I was considering a low kick or encore instead of an ice spinner, but using an ice spinner guaranteed an easy win against the terrain team (Indeedee-Sneasler), so I chose an ice spinner.
Meowscarada @ Choice Band
Ability: Protean
Level: 50
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Low Kick
- Triple Axel
- U-turn
When I was playing the matches during season 22, I realized that the choice band Meowscarada was working very well in this meta. So I decided to use the one for my team.
I did not want to use grass-type moves on the Meow because if Meow had so many useful moves, I had to drop the flower trick.
Using low kick and triple axel was very strong; I had issues with triple axel because of the accuracy, so I was trying not to use this move as much as I could.
Ursaluna-Bloodmoon @ Silk Scarf
Ability: Mind's Eye
Level: 50
Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 4 HP / 4 Def / 228 SpA / 20 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Blood Moon
- Hyper Voice
- Vacuum Wave
- Protect
The wild card of the team
I was struggling with cycles (Alomomola) and my opponent's Meow leads. After discussing strategy with Kemi.poke, I decided to use this build.
Protect to avoid Blood Moon and checking the moves from Meow was very strong, but during the last day of the season, I have not seen any Meow leads that I can remember.
Garchomp @ Loaded Dice
Ability: Rough Skin
Level: 50
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Scale Shot
- Substitute
- Swords Dance
The wild card of the team 2
I learned about this set when on the day 28th, which was very good against Annihilape and the cycle team (Alomomola).
It was strong.
I have always felt that the Pokemon BSS community on Smogon is almost not active on the console because many of them focus on the Showdown. Even if someone is good at Showdown Ladder, I think it means nothing because the meta from Showdown and Battle Stadium Singles is very different.
Thanks for reading the article. This is my first attempt to write a team report here, if you have any questions, please join Smogon Battle Stadium Singles discord and ask!
Many thanks,
Kiby
