This is my first competitive team that I've thought up of myself, as well as raised myself over many hours in my first actual attempt at competitive battling. I'm trying to use more unique pokemon such as Rotom-H over Rotom-W, a defensive mega such as Venasaur as opposed to Lucario/Gengar/Kangaskhan, and based on a FWG core (Rotom-H, Greninja, M-Venasaur.) I can't help but shake the feeling that something is missing, which is why I'm posting it here for criticism. Since Gengarite and Kangahskite have been banned, it makes my Mega Choice a bit more justified, but I still feel that without an Aegislash/T-Tar/Talonflame/Excadrill/other generalised threat, my team is a bit different, which is a positive AND a negative.
Togekiss @ Leftovers
Modest
248HP/192Spe/40 SpA/28 SpD
Serene Grace
-Dazzling Gleam
-Air Slash
-Fire Blast/T-Wave
-Roost
The Dragon Killer! Dunno whether to run 3 attacks on this (Fire Blast, DG, and AS,) or to run T-Wave on this to troll like a mofo. If I choose T-Wave on this, I'll probably choose Trick on my Rotom-H - just because 2 things don't need to be paralyzing on my team. However, this is basically just the classic Gen V Serene Grace abusing para-flincher - I'm not so good at battling yet and don't play PO or Showdown, so my teams are a little bit more hax friendly :P
Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP/ 184 Def / 72 Spd
Impish
- Earthquake/Sub
- Toxic
- Protect/Sub
- Stealth Rock/Sub
Classic Stall Gliscor. I can't fit Stealth Rock in anywhere else on my team, so I don't know whether to go for Protect or Sub. Or, do I ditch Earthquake for Sub and run a non-attacking Gliscor outside of Toxic. OR, I do away with Rocks entirely, and run a sub/protect/toxic/quake gliscor...so many options...all of them revolving around which move to replace with sub.
Bisharp @ Choice Band
Adamant
252 Atk/252 Spe/4 HP
Defiant
-Sucker Punch
-Iron Head
-Pursuit
-Knock-Off/Night Slash.
Defiant Choice Banded Bisharp. If that doesn't scream physical sweeper, I don't know what does. Knock-Off obviously isn't available until Pokebank - but I'm not sure if I want to go with KO over Night Slash as this Bisharp will be all about nabbing Defiant boosts from Sticky Web/Intimidates - and the consistency and high crit rate of Night Slash is a boon.
Mega Venasaur @ Venasaurite
Adamant
Chlorophyll (Normal)/Thick Fat (Mega)
252HP/252Atk/4SpD
-Synthesis
-Petal Blizzard/Power Whip
-Sludge Bomb
-Earthquake
Once I get rid of the enemies' Talonflame, Mega Venasaur comes out to play. This is a mixed attacking set that catches people off guard, and also checks fairies that Bisharp fails to check. Rotom-H can take care of any Talonflames who are looking to prey on M-Venasaur's one of two weaknesses, and unless the opposition is running an unconventional flying type or a rare psychic type, this will allow Megasaur to have a bit of mixed-attacking fun, with the bulk to back it up,
Greninja @ Life Orb
Hasty
252Spd/252SAtk/4HP
Protean
-U-turn
-Grass Knot/Dark Pulse
-Hydro Pump
-Ice Beam
The real speed of my team. He hits hard, he hits fast, and he forms a volt-turn combo with my MAIN PLAYER. Grass Knot/Dark Pulse, as always, is an interesting choice, with Grass Knot taking out Swamperts, Gastrodons, and other bulky water types, whilst Dark Pulse provides the chance of flinch and takes out other threats.
Rotom-H @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk/4SDef/252Spd
Modest
-Volt Switch
-Will-O-Wisp
-Thunder Wave/Trick
-Overheat
The ultimate anti-lead. Since I don't want to clear Sticky Web to force a Defiant boost for Bisharp, and this asshole can spread status, or take down other dedicated leads very easily, I think that Scarfed Rotom-H outshines his washing machine counterpart because of his unpredictability. It's all about whether I want to cripple walls with trick, or spread dual status/threaten other leads with my choice scarf.
That's my team. I don't know what else I can change - I wanted to shoe-horn a T-Tar into there but my team doesn't appreciate Sandstorm, and a Mega-Lucario would be a nice replacement for Bisharp, but I used my mega slot on Venasaur. Let me know what I've done right and wrong! Just remember, I'm a long time lurker, but a first time poster! :)
