Prologue below.
This being my first(mildly) successful team, I was wanting some pointers! This team could be called a bulky-offensive-boosting-revenge kill team, I guess. Suggestions and constructive criticism are appreciated!
Celebi | Infernape | Gengar | Tyranitar | Blissey | Skarmory
Celebi @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Recover
- Heal Bell
- U-turn
This is supposed to be some sorry excuse for a lead/cleric, I guess. I don't find much use in it besides Stealth Rock and Heal Bell, but even then, it dies quickly to something, and never lasts long unless stalling a wall with Recover. U-turn is to get another pogey in without switching, bu because it is pretty fast, that's also rather pointless. This one I'm wanting pointers on.
Infernape (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Overheat
- Close Combat
- U-turn
- Mach Punch
Revenge killer/wall breaker, pretty average. I use Mach Punch for important priority, Overheat is for dishing out the most damage to physically-defensive pogeys as possible. U-turn is to keep up some momentum and do a little damage on the switch, especially against Lati@s. Close Combat for extreme STAB; the defense drop doesn't matter with this glass cannon.
Gengar (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Thunderbolt
- Will-O-Wisp
Another revenge killer, but more of a special sweeper, too. Max speed to tie with sub-Gengar and other LO-Gengar, and to get ahead of as much as possible. Shadow Ball + Focus Blast for strong perfect coverage; Thunderbolt and Will-O-Wisp are basically just filler.
Tyranitar (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Unnerve
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Earthquake
- Brick Break
Sweeper/revenge killer. I find these very useful this generation filled with fast, hard-hitting, sturdy pogeys.
Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Softboiled
- Calm Mind
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
This one's a little odd, too. It's not hard at all to switch this in on a special attacker and start boosting, but the typing, physical defenselessness, and slow speed make it an awkward little tank at best. Calm Mind/Softboiled to very nice Special stats, then Ice Beam/Thunderbolt as much as you can before they send in a pogey with any form of physical attack.. kinda lame, but it works alright.. for some definition of alright. Any other good CM pogeys that would fit here?
Skarmory (M) @ Shed Shell
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Hardy Nature
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Spikes
- Whirlwind
This is not the second half of Skarmbliss, unless that includes CM bliss. Basically, I switch in on a physical move and use spikes/whirlwind a turn or two before getting owned by something. That doesn't usually take long. :(
In my opinion, this really isn't the greatest team. That is why I posted it. But it doesn't do too badly, but it often either gets swept or sweeps the other team, or blissey and Celebi are switching to try and hopelessly stall something.
I would really like help with this.
I used to lurk here at Smogon back in DPP, but I never did any competitive Pogeymanz. I studied a lot and learned much, but didn't do much with that information.
Recently I downloaded Pokemon Online. I must say, a lot has changed since DPP! The metagame is somehow even faster, and bulky sweepers are even more important than ever. Plus, there's tons of new abilities, moves, and pogeymanz to shake things up more than ever!
The first thing I did was steal a team from RMT('cause they are pretty good); I believe it was Slow and Easy by black ice.. but that's not important.
