Conkeldurr uses its high Attack stat and sizeable bulk to act as a strong bulky offense Pokemon in the 1v1 metagame. Using Protect turn one allows Flame Orb to activate Guts for free, as well as letting Conkeldurr to scout the foe's moves. A Guts-boosted Close Combat allows Conkeldurr to OHKO many Pokemon such as Hydreigon, Tyranitar, Choice Scarf Dracovish, and Ferrothorn. Many matchups may require or benefit from Mach Punch, such as Sawk, Crustle, and Galarian Darmanitan. Against Crustle, use Mach Punch turn 1 instead of Protect or Close Combat, as this allows Conkeldurr to survive Counter and KO it the next turn with a Guts-boosted Close Combat. Against Sawk, use Protect turn 1. If they use Close Combat, use Close Combat and then Mach Punch on turns 2 and 3. However, if they use Counter, use Payback followed by Close Combat. Using a Guts Boosted Mach Punch against Galarian Darmanitan removes the possibility of an Icicle Crash flinch. The given HP and Defense EVs allow Conkeldurr to beat Choice Scarf Dracovish with Close Combat followed Mach Punch without using Protect, while the Special Defense EVs allow Conkeldurr to survive Timid Choice Specs Dragapult’s Draco Meteor and OHKO with a Guts boosted Payback. A Brave nature along with 29 IVs in speed allow Conkeldurr to underspeed minimum speed Aegislash, which allows it to hit it with a Guts-boosted Payback in its Blade forme. Guts and Flame Orb also have some defensive capabilities. Notably, Guts allows Conkeldurr to beat stall Rotom-A because it can ignore Will-O-Wisp, which is key to their defensive capabilities.

Conkeldurr works well with Steel-type Pokemon such as Excadrill and Steelix that can defeat its Fairy-type counters such as Sylveon and Togekiss. In return, Conkeldurr can beat opposing Snorlax and Rotom-W. Conkeldurr also struggles with especially strong wallbreakers such as Choice Band Dracovish and Choice Band Dracozolt. Because of this, Pokemon such as Crustle and Strength Sap Galarian Corsola that can survive their attacks make good teammates. In return, Conkeldurr can beat many Steel-types such as Duraludon, and strong offensive Pokemon such as Choice Specs Dragapult. It also appreciates teammates such as Incineroar who can beat Psychic-types such as Gardevoir. In return, Conkeldurr can beat many Steel- and Ground-types such as Excadrill, Steelix, and Choice Band Bisharp.

evs: 248 HP / 56 Atk / 120 Def / 84 SpD as far as i can tell this is rlly bad, and 248 HP / 152 Atk / 56 Def / 52 SpD is the optimal spread for both dracovish and dragapult

Against Sawk, use Protect turn 1. If they use Close Combat, use Close Combat and then Mach Punch on turns 2 and 3. If they use Counter, use Payback, then Close Combat. This will ensure that you always win. filler Using a Guts Boosted Mach Punch against Galarian Darmanitan removes the possibility of an Icicle Crash flinch. The given HP and Defense EVs allow Conkeldurr to beat Choice Scarf Dracovish with Close Combat into Mach Punch without using Protect. The HP and SpDef EVs allow Conkeldurr to survive Choice Specs Dragapult’s Draco Meteor and OHKO with a Guts boosted Payback. The Brave nature along with 29 IVs in speed allow Conkeldurr to underspeed minimum speed Aegislash, which allows it to hit Aegislash-Blade with a Guts boosted Payback. Guts and Flame Orb also have some defensive capabilities. It can prevent opponents such as Pyukumuku from using Toxic. doesn't it still basically win with counter spam? In addition, Guts allows Conkeldurr to beat stall Rotom-A because it can ignore Will-o-Wisp, which is key to stall Rotom-A’s defensive capabilities.

Conkeldurr works well with Steel-type Pokemon such as Excadrill, Corviknight, and Steelix that can defeat its Fairy-type counters such as Sylveon and Togekiss. Since Conkeldurr’s main form of attack is Close Combat, and Flame Orb deals damage every turn, it can struggle against Substitute users such as Liechi Berry Cinderace, Liechi Berry Rillaboom, and Petaya Berry Inteleon. To deal with this, Pokemon with the Sturdy ability such as Choice Band Sawk and Crustle can be helpful. Conkeldurr also struggles with especially strong wallbreakers such as Choice Band Dracovish and Choice Band Dracozolt. Because of this, Pokemon such as Crustle, Mimikyu, and Strength Sap Galarian Corsola who can survive their attacks make good teammates for Conkeldurr. In return, Conkeldurr can beat many Steel-types such as Duraludon, and strong offensive Pokemon such as Choice Specs Dragapult. include partners for beating psychic types like rachi/necrozma

Conkeldurr works well with Steel-type Pokemon such as Excadrill, Corviknight, (corv 50/50s scarf toge at best) and Steelix that can defeat its Fairy-type counters such as Sylveon and Togekiss. (what does conkeldurr do in return) Since Conkeldurr’s main form of attack is Close Combat, (you're gonna use payback or mach punch on subs) and Flame Orb deals damage to the user every turn, it can struggle against Substitute users such as Liechi Berry Cinderace, (liechi wins 80% of the time anyways) Liechi Berry Rillaboom, and Petaya Berry Inteleon (burn damage / cc drops dont matter anyhow). (find different examples for the burn damage line or remove all together, also nice starter trio ^o^)To deal with this, Pokemon with the Sturdy ability such as Choice Band Sawk and Crustle can be helpful. (what does conkeldurr do in return) Conkeldurr also struggles with especially strong wallbreakers such as Choice Band Dracovish and Choice Band Dracozolt. It also appreciates teammates who can beat Psychic-types such as Jirachi (this doesn't really fit the category since it doesnt even use any psychic attacks, maybe remove the psychic category and change to just jirachi?). For this reason, Pokemon such as bulky Life Orb Mimikyu and Incineroar make good teammates, In return, Conkeldurr can beat many Steel- and Ground-types such as Excadrill, Steelix, and Choice Band Bisharp.
