[OVERVIEW]
Florges has solidified itself as one of the best Fairy-types and defensive staples in the tier by virtue of its immense special bulk, allowing it to check threats such as Mega Blastoise, Noivern, and Mega Sceptile. Florges's access to Synthesis gives it instant recovery to consistently pivot into these threats, but you should be wary of the limited amount of PP Synthesis has. Florges's viability is further increased by its status as one of the few viable Wish users in the tier, as well as fulfilling the role of a cleric, which only Diancie gives it competition for. Florges also possesses a decent offensive presence with its above-average Special Attack in conjunction with a powerful STAB move in Moonblast. Unfortunately, very mediocre physical bulk means Florges struggles to directly switch into strong threats like Choice Band Bewear and Guts Machamp. While Florges does outspeed these threats, it will most likely be forced to use Synthesis in response in order to be able to pivot into them or other threats later. Although Florges provides a lot of utility for a team, it can be very passive, which allows threats like Metagross, Ninetales, and Arcanine to take advantage of it and fire off a strong attack or use it as a setup fodder, particularly in the former two's case.

Moves
========
STAB Moonblast hits relatively hard and has the chance to drop a foe's Special Attack by one stage, allowing Florges to check it more easily. Synthesis allows Florges to keep switching into threats like Mega Blastoise and Mega Sceptile without much fear. Aromatherapy provides a way to cure status conditions such as Toxic and Will-O-Wisp from Florges and its team. Wish provides Florges with the ability to recover the health of its teammates, especially ones that lack reliable recovery such as Bronzong and Nidoqueen. This can also provide a way for Florges to recover its own health without Synthesis's limited PP and reduced recovery in sand and hail; this is vital because Synthesis is important for the immediate recovery against offensive teams.
Set Details
========
136 Speed EVs with a Timid nature allow Florges to outspeed and remove threats like Bewear and Adamant Tyrantrum. The rest of the EVs are put into its physical bulk to tank hits from the physical Fighting-types in the tier. Leftovers provide Florges with passive recovery to perform its role as a cleric for longer.
Usage Tips
========
Florges should use its massive Special Defense stat and Fairy typing to switch into Pokemon like Yanmega, Mega Sceptile, and Mega Ampharos. Florges should also aim to support its teammates with Wish and cleric support; however, Aromatherapy should not be used too liberally due to its low PP. If Florges is up against a wall it can't beat like Bronzong or Registeel, it should refrain from using Aromatherapy unless a teammate desperately needs its status removed at the cost of Florges's health or getting crippled by status again. Florges invites a lot of threats like Escavalier, Ninetales, and Salazzle to fire off a strong hit. Ninetales and Salazzle can use Florges's passivity as a setup opportunity to start breaking, which means Florges should not use utility moves every opportunity it is given, as it can give up a lot of momentum. However, Florges can minimize the damage output these Pokemon can achieve by passing a Wish to a teammate that can pivot in more safely as a result. Wish should be used a lot early on in a match in comparison to Synthesis due to Synthesis's low PP, which can be vital against offensive teams that can deny it the opportunity to receive its own Wish. Florges has poor Defense, which means it struggles to switch into a lot of physical threats like Zygarde-10% and Guts Machamp. For example, a Guts-boosted Close Combat from Machamp is able to 2HKO Florges, which forces it into scenarios where it may need to use Synthesis, as otherwise it won't be able to constantly switch into other threats later. Therefore, avoid switching into these Pokemon too liberally, since it can get easily overwhelmed.
Team Options
========
Florges fits best on balanced and bulky offense teams that appreciate the utility it can provide for its members. Pokemon like Rhyperior and Mega Blastoise are fantastic partners that are capable of checking the Fire-types such as Arcanine and Salazzle that take advantage of Florges's passivity. These partners can also help remove most of the Steel-types in the tier that Florges is unable to pressure. In return, Florges checks Grass-types like Mega Sceptile, Shaymin, and Virizion that threaten them and can increase their longevity by providing valuable Wish and cleric support. Entry hazard removal from Mantine, Mandibuzz, and the aforementioned Mega Blastoise help take pressure off Florges, giving it more opportunities to recover health or use Aromatherapy. Steel-types like Escavalier and Metagross work really well with Florges by handling opposing Steel- and Poison-types, which Florges can't punish effectively. Likewise, Ground-types such as Donphan, Nidoqueen, and Zygarde-10% are able to offensively pressure these Steel- and Poison-types like Metagross and Toxicroak. Florges can provide them with Wish and cleric support to prevent them from getting easily worn down in exchange. Setup Pokemon like Calm Mind Cresselia and Curse Snorlax appreciate Florges's ability to cure them of status ailments that hinder their ability to sweep, and in return, they can pivot into specially offensive Poison-types like Nidoqueen and Roserade. Virizion and Calm Mind Raikou are alternative setup sweepers that benefit massively from Florges curing their status conditions, allowing them to accumulate multiple boosts and increasing their longevity. Pokemon that lack and appreciate a form of substantial recovery such as Bronzong and Mega Ampharos work superbly with Florges thanks to its access to Wish support.

Other Options
=============
A more physically defensive set with a Bold nature can be utilized to allow Florges to switch into Fighting-types and other physically offensive Pokemon like Zygarde-10% and Golisopod easier at the cost of not being able to outspeed some of the tier's prominent threats like Tyrantrum and Bewear. Florges can run Defog if the need for entry hazard removal and a cleric needs to be compressed into one slot. However, Florges loses to a lot of the hazard setters in the tier such as Metagross, Nidoqueen, and Bronzong. Florges can also be overworked with trying to perform so many roles for a team. Toxic can be used to put Pokemon like Calm Mind Raikou and Necrozma on a timer, allowing Florges to better handle them between Moonblast and spamming its recovery moves, but Florges struggles to compress this onto its set over other utility moves that benefit more teams. Coverage options like Psychic and Hidden Power Fire can be run to punish threats like Salazzle and Escavalier attempting to freely pivot into Florges. However, Florges faces a lot of competition with Gardevoir and Ribombee, other Fairy-types with access to these coverage moves that fulfill an offensive role better. A Calm Mind variant can be used to help Florges break through a few offensive teams and allow it to take on threats like Calm Mind Raikou and Necrozma better, but the tier has a vast amount of Steel- and Poison-types that can prevent the effectiveness of such a set. A set with an EV spread of 252 HP / 32 SpA / 224 Spe, a Modest nature, and Pixie Plate can be used to fulfill a similar role but gives Florges more offensive presence at the expense of some Defense. Choice-locked Florges using either a Choice Scarf or Choice Specs can be used as a surprise set to more easily revenge kill or wallbreak, respectively, but this is severely outclassed by Gardevoir in this regard.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Steel-types**: Steel-types like Escavalier and Metagross offensively pressure Florges and force something to have to switch into their strong STAB moves and coverage options. Other bulky Steel-types like Registeel and Bronzong can Toxic stall Florges out of Aromatherapy and use the opportunity to set up Stealth Rock.
**Poison-types**: Strong Poison-types like Salazzle, Roserade, and Nidoqueen are capable of taking advantage of Florges's passivity as an opportunity to fire off strong STAB moves. Salazzle is also able to use it as a chance to set up a Nasty Plot, while Roserade and Nidoqueen can set up entry hazards such as Spikes and Stealth Rock. However, all of these threats can be lured by Psychic variants.
**Strong Physical Attackers**: Strong physical attackers like Lycanroc-D and Golisopod can easily overwhelm Florges thanks to its poor Defense, as both can OHKO it at +2 after Stealth Rock damage.
