[Overview]

Flygon's offensive typing gives it potential to put a dent into common threats like Copperajah, Dragalge, Salazzle, and Tyrantrum; it also has defensive capabilities in being immune to Ground-type moves through Levitate and reliable recovery in Roost. With U-Turn, Flygon's common foes such as Comfey, Sylveon, and Vileplume are prone to losing momentum and being taken advantage of by Flygon's teammates. Due to Flygon's lack of power without setting up, it can often be lacking against Pokemon that can take a few non-boosted attacks and use Will-O-Wisp such as Arcanine, Rotom-C, and Talonflame. Flygon can also lack the speed to deal damage to faster wallbreakers like Mienshao and Starmie that have a tendency to OHKO Flygon. However, if Flygon is able to switch-in on a weak foe and set up, it can sweep the tier.

With a single Dragon Dance, Flygon can sweep near the end of the game without having to worry too much about its common threats. Flygon's fourth move has several different options. Throat Chop is useful for taking down common Psychic- and Ghost-type enemies such as Starmie, Celebi, and Golurk, as well as having a niche in crippling Hyper Voice Sylveon. Fire Punch has good neutral coverage across possible Flygon switch-ins such as Bronzong and Vileplume, and Iron Tail can be used for Fairy-types like Sylveon and Comfey. Carrying a Lum Berry allows Flygon to set up a Dragon Dance against Will-o-Wisp users like Arcanine and Talonflame without being impaired.

Due to Flygon's weakness to the Sylveon and Comfey, Steel type Pokemon such as Bronzong, Copperajah, and Escavalier aid Flygon in sweeping late game. Cleric support from Sylveon assists Flygon in case it consumes its Lum Berry earlier in the game. Choice Scarf Flygon acts as a revenge killer to wallbreakers like Dragalge, Copperajah, and Salazzle. Dragon Claw helps Flygon have another STAB option to use if the opponent still has Fairy-types still alive, this allows for Flygon to live longer if it needs to switch out. Defog is there for a lack of a better move as well as being able to guarantee hazard removal if needed. Toxic allows for Flygon to pressure walls that may switch into a Dragon-type move like Sylveon and Comfey.

Pokemon that are weak to Tyrantrum like Mantine and Salazzle like the aid of Flygon to switch-in and revenge kill it; Mantine also likes Flygon being immune to Electric-type moves. Flygon is weak and does not hit hard, so Steel-types like Escavalier and Bronzong help deal with Fairy-types and Cresselia that Flygon cannot efficiently KO. Other teammates that help deal with walls like Vileplume, Gastrodon, and Mudsdale that Flygon struggles with include Starmie, Decidueye, and Celebi. Celebi and Starmie also help with absorbing statuses that disable Flygon from staying in too long or hit half as hard. Spikes support from Golisipod and Roserade can better assure Flygon can get an OHKO on an opponent that normally would not be KO'd. Walls that switch-in on other revenge killers like Vileplume, Cresselia, and Copperajah benefit Flygon so it can revenge kill in the late game.

Flygon can make use of Choice Band with First Impression to have a hard hitting priority move to revenge kill as well as harder hitting power towards walls that lose small amounts of health from non-boosted attacks. Defog and Roost can also allow Flygon to be a utility based Pokemon that can help take a few hits from various wallbreakers while removing hazards, however, Defog Flygon is typically outclassed by Mantine as it can absorb more hits from various Pokemon. Flygon can also make use of its mediocre Special Attack stat with Life Orb and moves like Draco Meteor and Fire Blast to confuse your opponent, however, it is walled by the likes of Sylveon, Mantine, and Assault Vest Copperajah.

Checks and Counters
====

**Physical Walls**: Strength Sap Vileplume, Stamina Mudsdale, and Arcanine or Talonflame with Will-o-Wisp are all able to prevent Flygon from setting up and sweeping late-game.

**Revenge Killers**: Other Choice Scarf users such as Mienshao or Rotom-C can often KO a weak Flygon that does not have the time to switch out. Others like Golisopod that have strong priority moves can also KO Flygon if it is weak.

**Ice Beam Users**: Blastoise with Shell Smash can outspeed Flygon, and Inteleon and Starmie naturally outspeed it as well. These can all be threats with Ice Beam.

**Ice-Types**: While not unheard of, Sneasel, Arctovish, and Vanilluxe can switch-in on Flygon causing Flygon to switch out. Sneasel also has Ice Shard while Arctovish has Slush Rush, allowing for potential to outspeed.

**Dragon-Types**: Despite Flygon being faster than both Dragalge and Goodra, Flygon often lacks the power to OHKO both of them, allowing them to OHKO it back with their own STAB moves.

**Fairy-Types**: Comfey's priority Draining Kiss is detrimental if used against Flygon, especially since Flygon does not have many options to attack Comfey. Sylveon is usually bulkier and Flygon will require many turns of setup to KO it, while Sylveon can KO Flygon quickly with Hyper Voice or Moonblast.

yo, talked with QC and the way we want to do sets is the following:

Dragon Dance -> Choice Scarf (Earthquake / Outrage / U-turn / Dragon Claw or Defog or Toxic)

OO: Choice Band, Utility (Earthquake / U-turn / Roost / Defog or Toxic), and Life Orb (Draco Meteor / Fire Blast / Roost / Earthquake or Earth Power)

With U-Turn on Choice item and Defog sets, Flygon's common foes such as Comfey, Sylveon, and Vileplume can be pivoted against are prone to losing momentum and being taken advantage of by Flygon's teammates. Flygon is also great at luring in fast Water-types such as Inteleon and Starmie and can allow Flygon to switch into common Grass-types as well as Steel-types. However, Flygon's middle-of-the-road Speed tier lets Choice Scarf abusers and fast enemies such as Mienshao, Rotom-C, and Tyrantrum take advantage of Flygon's poor defensive stats.

This currently does not adequately go into the negatives of Flygon. Flygon's Speed tier is plenty fine giving both the listed sets are based around boosting Speed, and only one of the Pokemon you listed outpaces +1 Flygon. You should be making note of things like Flygon's lackluster damage output without Attack boosts; not amazing bulk, which limits its abilities to switch directly into attacks; and vulnerability to being statused when trying to take advantage of foes like Talonflame, Rotom-C, and Arcanine.

With a single Dragon Dance, Flygon can sweep near the end of the game without having to worry too much about its common threats. Flygon's fourth move has several different options. Throat Chop is useful for taking down common Psychic- and Ghost-type enemies such as..., as well as having a niche in crippling Hyper Voice Sylveon running Hyper Voice as its only attacking move. Fire Punch can be used to take down Vileplume or other Pokemon weak to Fire-type moves has good neutral coverage across possible Flygon switch-ins such as Bronzong and Vileplume, and Iron Tail can be used for Fairy-types like the aforementioned Sylveon and Comfey. Carrying a Lum Berry allows Flygon to set up a Dragon Dance against Will-o-Wisp users like Arcanine and Talonflame without being impaired.

Due to Flygon's weakness to the ever-so-present Sylveon and Comfey, Steel type Pokemon such as Bronzong, Copperajah, and Escavalier aid Flygon in sweeping late game. Flygon can occasionally put in damage against its checks, but cannot take much damage in return. That being said, a cleric of its own, such as a Sylveon can help fill the void of Flygon not having reliable recovery on this particular set. Cleric support from Sylveon assists Flygon in case it consumes its Lum Berry earlier in the game. Mantine, Rotom-C, and Vileplume can all pressure opposing Water-types like Inteleon and Starmie that prevent Flygon from setting up. Other niches such as Sticky Web setters such as Araquanid and Vikavolt can provide speed control for Flygon to reliably take down faster threats to its own teammates such as Mienshao, Salazzle, and Zoroark. Dual screens support from Xatu can also ensure Flygon does not get OHKOd as easily as before while setting up once or twice. (You should explicitly mention some wallbreakers that aid Flygon; even with a boost it's not too strong.)

Choice Scarf Flygon acts as a revenge killer to wallbreakers like Dragalge, Heliolisk Copperajah, and Salazzle through its main STAB move, Earthquake. U-turn lets Flygon pivot into walls that can take hits from Flygon's checks, while also giving it the ability to safely switch and do damage to its common enemies Cresselia, Rotom-C, and Starmie. Outrage is there for when the opponent's Fairy-types have fainted and no longer threaten Flygon from sweeping (none of this is too important. If you want, you can talk about why running two Dragon-type moves is good.). Dragon Claw helps Flygon have another STAB option to use if the opponent still has Fairy-types still alive. Defog helps as Flygon usually does not take too much damage from hazards and not wasting a team slot on a dedicated hazard remover.(It's not really for this reason; it's more that Choice Scarf Flygon can guarantee a Defog if needed to and there not being a whole lot of great moves for that last moveslot anyway.) Toxic allows for Flygon to pressure walls that may switch into a Dragon-type move like Sylveon and Comfey. The Jolly nature lets Flygon outspeed non-Scarf Flygons, and can also let it speed tie with enemy Choice Scarf Flygons if its own Choice Scarf was knocked off.

Flygon likes to be able to switch into walls that can take powerful Water- or Grass-type moves like Mantine and Vileplume, or pivot into teammates that prey on Water-types like Heliolisk or Rotom-C. It also appreciates support from Knock Off absorbers such as Colbur Berry Dhelmise, itemless Vileplume, or Sylveon to keep its momentum going. Slower pivots like Teleport Arcanine or Vaporeon can also help get Flygon in without taking damage. Having a Fairy-type like Sylveon or Comfey can also help Flygon avoid super-effective damage from foes like Dragalge, Flygon, or Goodra. With Defog as Flygon's last move, Pokemon like Salazzle can safely switch-in without having to worry about taking hazard damage. (This really just doesn't adequately cover the teammates you'd use with Choice Scarf Flygon. It's faster than the common Water- and Grass-types; it doesn't really care about Knock Off because it's seldom at risk of being hit by one; it's not particularly worried about safe entry; and it's faster than all the Dragon-types you mentioned bar a mirror match, so does it really care about Fairy-type teammates?)

I can't approve this in its current form; much of the content, while not incorrect, really misses the mark and doesn't adequately convey why you'd use Flygon and how to support it. This needs to be put back in WIP and fixed up.

Flygon's offensive typing gives it potential to put a dent into common threats like Copperajah, Dragalge, Salazzle, and Tyrantrum; it also has defensive capabilities in being immune to Ground-type moves through Levitate and reliable recovery in Roost.(and yet, neither set has Roost) With U-Turn, Flygon's common foes such as Comfey, Sylveon, and Vileplume are prone to losing momentum and being taken advantage of by Flygon's teammates.(right, so this sentence is very obviously in reference to Choice Scarf, but... you don't explicitly state that and don't really say anything else about what Choice Scarf Flygon does in general. fix that.) Due to Flygon's lack of power without setting up, it can often be lacking against Pokemon that can take a few non-boosted attacks and use Will-O-Wisp such as Arcanine, Rotom-C, and Talonflame.(I don't think you need to limit this to Will-O-Wisp users, and Arcanine 1) runs Toxic far more frequently and 2) really shouldn't be trying to defensively answer Flygon. this sentence instead should be referencing how Flygon can struggle to 1) clean even after a Dragon Dance and 2) occasionally fail to revenge kill effectively) Flygon can also lack the speed to deal damage to faster wallbreakers like Mienshao and Starmie that have a tendency to OHKO Flygon.(this sentence isn't true; both Flygon sets are based around boosting Speed, and if you're referencing Mienshao as a wallbreaker, then I'm gonna assume you mean Life Orb variants and not Choice Scarf ones.) However, if Flygon is able to switch-in on a weak foe and set up, it can sweep the tier. (conclusion sentences like these aren't necessary.) (add a sentence about how Flygon's sorta mid bulk means it ends up struggling to actually take advantage of the good defensive utility its typing and ability provide it with)

I have to reassign this. Despite the rewrites, there's a lot of information here that is too surface level or just doesn't make sense to include. This is leaving out the fact I didn't check OO and C&C, which most definitely have questionable information in them too from a cursory glance. If you have further questions, reach out to me on Discord.
