This format takes inspiration from the VGC format commonly referred to by the same name. Rather than the usual crowd being banned, powerful Pokemon like Kyogre and Calyrex are restricted - in GS Cup, you can use up to two per team. This provides an opportunity for players to use some of the game's most terrifying Pokemon, but with a limit of two, you can't just mash all the brokens on one team, and still need to consider the rest of the Pokedex for your other slots.

Play Restrictions:
- Endless Battle Clause: Players cannot use any moveset on any Pokémon capable of intentionally causing an endless battle. Thus:
- A Pokémon may not carry Recycle and hold a Leppa Berry in conjunction with Heal Pulse and Milk Drink, Moonlight, Morning Sun, Recover, Roost, Slack Off, Soft-Boiled, or Wish.
- A Pokémon may not hold a Leppa Berry while carrying Recycle and Pain Split.
- A Pokémon may not hold a Leppa Berry while carrying Recycle and Fling
- Evasion Clause: Players cannot use the moves Double Team or Minimize.
- OHKO Clause: Players cannot use the moves Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill, or Sheer Cold.
- Species Clause: Players cannot have two Pokémon with the same Pokédex number on the same team.
- Gravity Sleep Clause: Sleep moves with below one hundred percent accuracy may not be used in conjunction with Gravity.

- Some restricted Pokemon have alternate forms that are unrestricted. This includes Basculegion, Calyrex, Deoxys, Kyurem, and Necrozma. These forms may be used freely - for example, you can use Koraidon, Calyrex-Ice, and Deoxys-Speed on the same team - but due to Species Clause, cannot be used alongside their restricted counterpart.
- Any tiering changes of Pokemon that occur in DOU during this tournament will not apply to the tournament. If a Pokemon is banned or unbanned mid-tour, it will not be added or removed from the restricted list, respectively. (If this format is run again in the future, the restricted list will be updated.) If Archaludon is banned before round 1 is posted, it will be restricted.
