[SET COMMENTS]
Frosmoth is a great setup sweeper and offensive presence in the metagame thanks to its strong Special Attack, decent coverage, and access to Quiver Dance. Giga Drain threatens Water-types like Poliwrath, Clawitzer, and Jellicent, doing significant damage after a single boost. Substitute allows Frosmoth to set up on passive Pokemon that relies on status it to wear it down like Clefairy, Uxie, and Pyukumuku. Substitute also makes Frosmoth an excellent stallbreaker. Hurricane is an alternative to 2HKO Fire-types such as Centiskorch and Rapidash when unboosted and OHKO the former at +1. However, without Substitute, Frosmoth has significantly less opportunities to set up and is easier to revenge kill.
Frosmoth fits on balance and bulky offense teams that want a setup sweeper and soft check to special attackers such as Rotom. Switch-ins to Fire-types are great partners; Pokemon like Qwilfish and Thick Fat Appletun can switch into Centiskorch and Rapidash, respectively. Fighting-types like Gurdurr and Poliwrath can switch into Rock- and Steel-types like Rhydon and Ferroseed, while Frosmoth in return can set up on foes like Uxie and Tangela that switch into them. Secondary sweepers like Iron Defense Cofagrigus and Swords Dance Silvally-Ground can pressure foes and weaken them for Frosmoth to sweep late-game; they also pressure Frosmoth's checks such as Choice Scarf Sawk and Galarian Stunfisk. Pokemon like Garbodor and Qwilfish can absorb and scout for Knock Off users while setting entry hazards for Frosmoth to sweep.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Bug Buzz can be used as a secondary STAB move to better damage foes like Uxie, but it is usually not needed; Frosmoth's other coverage moves are better, and having both STAB attacks is less effective due to overlapping resistances. Weather Ball is a good option on weather teams, giving Frosmoth coverage it usually doesn't have access to.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Fire-types**: Fire-types like Centiskorch and Rapidash are the best offensive answer against Frosmoth, easily OHKOing it due to its 4x weakness. Frosmoth will also have to watch out for Pokemon with Fire-type coverage such as Fire Blast Skuntank and Mystical Fire Alcremie.
**Steel-types**: Steel-types like Ferroseed, Klinklang, and Galarian Stunfisk can take on most of Frosmoth's attacks and threaten it back with their Steel-type moves or Rock Slide.
**Knock Off**: Removing Frosmoth's Heavy-Duty Boots will heavily hinder its ability to sweep, as it will be susceptible to all type of entry hazards, especially Stealth Rock. Passive Pokemon like Clefairy and Tangela may bait in Frosmoth and remove its item.
**Revenge Killers**: Frosmoth mediocre Speed and lackluster physical bulk make it easy to revenge kill, even at +1, by Choice Scarf users such as Sawk and Cinccino; the latter is also able to revenge kill Frosmoth behind a Substitute. Priority users like Kangaskhan, Shiftry, and Aqua Jet Basculin are able to revenge kill Frosmoth with minimal chip damage, although none of them can switch into Frosmoth's attacks with ease.
