Intro
Hello fellow UU players, and welcome to my latest RMT. For this round of UU, I decided to make an offensive team to ladder with. In my opinion, offense is harder to use on the ladder because with stall most matches can be won handily by simply playing on 'autopilot'. However, with offense predictions are more important and mistakes are more costly. and sometimes you can lose to shit like Agility Lanturn when your remaining pokes are Rhyperior, Magmortar, and a weakened Sceptile. Also, offense tends to be less tedious than stall to ladder with, although the ladder is pretty boring nowadays anyway. Anyhow, this team has served me pretty well, getting to #7 on the ladder with a CRE around 1675 on the alt 'Godsend.'. that alt was made to mock/troll this bitch, who is 'godsend2' on shoddy battle. This team is one of the most solid teams I have built, but it still has a lot of room for improvement. Any and all suggestions or comments are very much appreciated. Without further ado, onto the team...

Kabutops @ Focus Sash
Nature: Adamant
Swift Swim
EVs: 68 HP, 252 Attack, 188 Speed
- Stone Edge
- Aqua Jet
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
Basically the standard lead Kabutops. It's one of the best leads I've ever used. It almost always manages to get SR up on my opponent's field and keep SR/Spikes off my side of the field. It also beats other suicide leads such as Alakazam and Electrode with a combination of Stone Edge and Aqua Jet. Focus Sash guarentees at least one turn to use SR. Even when matched up unfavorably against something such as Mesprit or Uxie, Kabu still gets his job done, even if it comes at the cost of dying without doing significant damage to the opponent's lead. If somehow Kabu is still alive at the midgame, Aqua Jet makes it a decent revenge killer against Fire-type sweepers. I added 4 EVs to Speed (from HP) so I can outspeed and beat other Kabutops leads.

Sceptile @ Life Orb
Nature: Hasty
Overgrow
EVs: 212 Attack, 216 Speed, 80 Special Attack
- Leaf Storm
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- HP Ice
Mixed Sceptile (MixTile). One of my favorite pokemon to use, and it absolutely tears shit up. Against any team without Venusaur or SpD Weezing, MixTile is going to have a field day. Against offensive teams that rely on Fire types such as Moltres or Houndoom to take a Leaf Storm, Sceptile easily lures it in and eliminates it. Leaf Storm is still massively powerful, even with limited EV investment. QuakeSlide hit Fire/Poison types who try to soak up Leaf Storm. HP Ice hits Leafeon, Tangrowth, and offensive Venusaur, as long as I don't Leaf Storm on their switchin. EVs are kind of randomly placed. enough Speed to outpace base 115s and then I spread out the EVs so my Attack and Special Attack stats are roughly even. The Hasty nature boosts the all-important Speed stat, while dropping Defense. I opted for Hasty over Naive because Sceptile is going to be switching in on Surfs from bulky waters more often than any physical attack.

Magmortar @ Expert Belt
Nature: Naive
Flame Body
EVs: 4 Attack, 252 Speed, 252 Special Attack
- Fire Blast
- Thunderbolt
- Substitute
- Focus Punch
SubPunch Magmortar. Credit for this set goes to bad ass. This thing is an insanely good wallbreaker. Sub allows Magmortar to scout for its counters and then smash it with the appropriate attack. with maxed out Special Attack and Expert Belt, Thunderbolt 2HKOs most Milotic, eliminating the need to predict the switchin. Fire Blast hits like a truck on anything that doesn't resist it. Focus Punch allows Magmortar to lure in Houndoom, Chansey, and Clefable* and KO them. Clefable is a bitch and can neuter this strategy by packing Encore. In fact, Magmortar can 2HKO just about every pokemon on a typical stall team unless Clefable can come in and Encore my Sub. For this reason, I am considering using Cross Chop or Brick Break or even Low Kick over Focus Punch.

Rhyperior @ Leftovers
Nature: Adamant
Solid Rock
EVs: 136 HP, 208 Attack, 164 Speed
- Substitute
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Megahorn
SubPerior. Since Smurf. popularized this set I've been using it on the majority of my teams because it kicks so much ass. Rhyperior causes many switches due to its massive physical bulk and humongous power, and this set capitalizes on both of those qualities. Only defensive behemoths such as max/max+ Milotic are able to avoid being 2HKOed by Rhyperior's awesome combination of coverage and power. On this team, Rhyperior has some offensive synergy going for it, as the team is packed with sweepers that can eliminate bulky waters or bring them into KO range for Rhyperior. Rhyperior can also weaken or set up on other walls, such as Chansey or Registeel, that wall my other sweepers. The HP EVs give it 101 HP Subs to evade SToss. The Speed EVs outpace minimum speed Weezing so I can Sub before they WoW me. The rest go into attack for maximum power.

Mismagius @ Leftovers
Nature: Timid
Levitate
EVs: 48 HP, 252 Speed, 208 Special Attack
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
SubCM Missy. I opted for the oft forgotten SubCM set on Mismagius rather than the Nasty Plot set because the SubCM set has the ability to set up on and create unbreakable Subs in the face of weak special attackers such as Milotic and defensive Venusaur. In fact, it may even get to +2 easier than the NP set since it has many more oppurtunites to set up and sweep. Thunderbolt over HP Fighting so I don't have the 30 Speed IV and also to hit Milotic and co. much harder. Registeel and Steelix fall to Rhyperior easily enough that Missy shouldn't be trying to bother with them. The EVs are Smogon standard.

Milotic @ Choice Scarf
Nature: Timid
Marvel Scale
EVs: 4 HP, 252 Speed, 252 Special Attack
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- HP Grass
- Recover
Meh. This thing was kind of thrown on here. It fares decently as a revenge killer and has good power. Its main targets are Swellow and DDGatr, both of whom it handles just fine. However, it lacks the raw power sometimes needed to sweep a team at the endgame or to break through more dedicated walls. I need a revenge killer in this slot, preferably one that can stand up to DDGatr. I've tested a Scarfed Blaziken in this slot, but not extensively enough to make any changes. Help me out here.
Final Thoughts
Well, that's the team. It's done pretty well on the ladder, but could certainly use some help. I appreciate your input.

team building process:
I started out this team with the offensive core of Nasty Plot Houndoom and Calm Mind Mismagius. They have pretty good offensive synergy and can set up on the other's counters, so it seemed like a good combination to build a team around.
I added a Sceptile to put more pressure on bulky waters and to tear shit up. The mixed set allowed me to muscle past his normal counters minus Venusaur and Weezing.
Next, SubPerior went in to lure bulky waters and also to take advantage of their removal.
In the lead slot, I wanted something that could reliably set up Stealth Rock and also prevent entry hazards, because an offensive team tends to switch around a bit to preserve momentum. Kabutops fit the bill and also had the potential to cause some good early damage.
Finally, I added a Scarf Gardevoir as a rain counter and revenge killer.
After bad ass posted his Sub Magmortar in the UU thread, I tried it out over Houndoom. The tradeoff of sweeping ability and speed for wallbreaking worked out well enough for me to keep Magmortar on the team.
Since I didn't want Pursuit trappers such as Spiritomb to KO 1/3 of my team for free, I removed Gardevoir and shoved a Scarf Milotic in its place.
This was the team that I laddered the most with, and it has worked pretty well. It's not bulletproof by any means, most likely due to my somewhat roughshod team building process.
