XY OU Fun OU Team With Various Threats :] (peaked 1600)

Sup Guys. Its me, Geertos, the Great Pokemon Battler... Wait what? Anyways, a few days ago i decided to make a new, nice and fresh OU team. That day aegislash actually got banned, which wasnt too bad for my team. Anyways, this team is pretty good and it has done pretty well on the OverUsed Ladder on Pokemon Showdown.

Let's take a quick look at the team first, shall we?

Latios_XY.gif

F 16 (Latios) (M) @ Life Orb
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Defog
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Recover

When i started building this team, i wanted to have latios in it because it is a great defogger in this metagame and it is even better without aegislash in the OU tier. It can also hit extremely hard with a Draco Meteor, which is obviously nice. It has Defog to remove hazards, Draco Meteor for Stab, Psyshock for Stab (and to beat mega Venusaur) and recover to regain some HELF, i mean health. EV spread is self-explainitory

Terrakion_XY.gif

Big Threat (Terrakion) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Iron Head

Second pokemon of the squad is terrakion. This thing was always a great pokemon in the OU tier because of his great dual stab and good attack and speed. Aegislash would be a problem for terrakion, but that thing is banned right now. It has a choice scarf equipped to outspeed pretty much the entire metagame. It also has great synergy offensively with latios. It takes the pokemon down that latios cannot take down and vice versa. It has close combat for fighting STAB, stone edge for rock STAB, earthquake for coverage and Iron head as filler. EV spread is self-explainitory

LavaLove (Heatran) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 216 SpD / 40 Spe
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Lava Plume
- Toxic
- Roar

Heatran is a reliable stealth rocker in this metagame and i like to use heatran. Its also the main special sponge of this team. His EVs are fairly standard, although it does have 40 speed evs to outspeed uninvested base 80s. Stealth Rock, because best move in the game. Lava Plume for STAB and higher burn chance than flamethrower. Toxic to stall and Roar to phaze and roar out set up sweepers.

azumarill.gif

Im Blue (Azumarill) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Play Rough
- Superpower
- Knock Off

AV Azumarill is nice and powerful. It takes hits like a boss and dishes them out like a boss. It also brings priority in this team and a dragon immunity, which is nice. EV spread is self-explainitory. Aqua jet for water STAB, Play Rough for Fairy STAB, Superpower for coverage (mainly ferrothorn if its predictable) and Knock off cause FUCK CHANSEY!

Venusaur_XY.gif

Flower Power (Venusaur-Mega) @ Venusaurite
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP / 232 SpA / 24 Spe
Modest Nature
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Synthesis

I ABSOLutely love mega Absol, eh, i mean mega Venusaur. This thing is the reason why they introduced the phrase ''Bulky Offense''. It is super bulky and deals shit loads of damage to the opponents team. It also counters azumarill, which would otherwise be a threat to this team. EVs are fairly standard other than its speed investment, which is to outspeed other standard Mega Venusaur and such. Giga Drain is for Grass STAB, Sludge Bomb for Poison Stab, Hidden power fire for coverage and Synthesis for recovery.

Thundurus_XY.gif

Thor (Thundurus) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Taunt

Last, but not least is Thundurus. This thing was Ubers last generation and for a good reason: Prankster Thunder Wave, a trolly speed stat, good offensive stats and nice support moves! I chose thundurus as last pokemon, because it has pretty good type synergy with the other members of the team and it is fast. Thunder Wave is to paralyze the opponent, leaving them vulnerable to attack (Linkin Park reference :]). Thunderbolt for Electric STAB, Hidden power ice for Bolt Beam combo and Taunt to break stall.

Threat list so far:
Excadrill, Landorus-I, Mega-Pinsir

Thank you guys so much for reading all this and can you please leave a rating. I dont care if it isnt that long, as long as you just give me an idea if this team is good and how i can improve it. I personally think it is a pretty solid team, but i want to know what you guys think :]. Thanks for rating and Peace out!

Hey, I feel like this team is rather solid and beats most of the threats in the metagame if you play your cards right, including the ones you listed. Excadrill is troublesome, but its inability to come in on anything combined with Azumarill and/or Venusaur should be enough to take it out most of the time. You can try using Mandibuzz if you want more insurance against the three threats you listed in particular (as well as Earthquake Latios and probably some other ones too), but you'll make yourself weaker to other threats such as Mega Gardevoir, Mega Medicham and Thundurus in return. There's really no perfect solution, and I feel as if Latios fits rather well there, but if you like what Mandibuzz does then you can use it over Latios too. Another thing you can try out is using Gliscor over Thundurus for its ability to take on Excadrill without an Air Balloon. You lose one of your flying resists in the process though, so you'd have to play very aggressively with the rest of your team so Pinsir gets as few free turns as possible. Gliscor also keeps the "stallbreaking" offered by Thundurus via Taunt so, again, it's something to consider at least although your current 6 Pokemon are perfectly fine

As for set changes, I'd definitely give Terrakion Rock Slide over Iron Head as there are some situations in which Rock Slide and Stone Edge both finish off your target and you really can't risk missing Stone Edge. Iron Head only really hits Clefable, who is already hit hard by Stone Edge and not really fazed by either of your moves, so it's really not very useful. I would run Will-O-Wisp and Taunt over Toxic and Roar on Heatran as one of Toxic's main targets being Charizard X, is handled rather well by your team and can't really set up on anything to begin with. Taunt lets you prevent walls such as Chansey from healing, while Will-O-Wisp gives you a more reliable move to shut down Mega Mawile with as Roar heavily backfires should they carry Knock Off. You should also run 44 Speed as to outrun standard Mega Venusaur and Taunt it before it can do anything bad to you. Azumarill really appreciates having Waterfall for when you can't risk a Play Rough miss or for when you need a stronger water attack. It is also a very safe move to just throw out against anything, unlike Superpower which lowers your stats and makes you susceptible to being forced out by something you shouldn't have to switch out of. I honestly don't think that Ferrothorn is a huge threat to your team as, after Knock Off removing its item, it will have a hard time keeping up with blows from Latios. Azumarill would really rather keep its health than waste them on Iron Barbs when your team isn't even weak to Ferrothorn in the first place. You should also use a more efficient EV spread to minimize residual damage. Finally, on Thundurus, I would suggest using a mixed variant with Life Orb and Superpower over Taunt. Taunt doesn't really break stall when Pokemon such as Chansey don't really care about it, and it gives you an extra way to hit Ferrothorn as well since Azumarill can't really do so anymore. Life Orb is needed to get lots of key KOs such as against Charizard Y, and even though you lose a bit of longevity, it's usually worth it in the long run.
