Overview
Furret is a solid pick in PU due to its passable Attack and Speed alongside Trick, which allows it to cripple setup Pokémon.
It's bulk is decent, but it cannot survive most super effective moves.
Choice Band
Furret @ Choice Band
Ability: Frisk
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Aqua Tail / Knock Off
- Double-Edge / Return
- Trick
Moves
U-turn lets Furret OHKO Pokémon such as Cacturne & Absol but it's also used for pivoting, you can come in frisk their item and then pivot out of there real quick.
Aqua Tail is run for better coverage but Knock Off is run for getting rid of items while also being a few of Furret's moves that can hit Ghost types.
Double Edge is Furret's BEST stab move (besides Giga Impact but who wants to wait 1 turn after attacking) if you don't want the recoil damage Return is also a great option.
Trick cripples setup sweepers not holding a Z-Crystal and bulkier Pokemon.
Set Details
Maximum Special Attack and Speed investment ensures that Furret outspeeds bulky Pokemon and hits as hard as possible, keep in mind this pokémon is walled if you run different sets, Ghost type pokémon counter it if you don't run Knock Off, but Rock type pokémon counter it if you don't run Aqua Tail, always make sure you do have counters to those types otherwise try using some different moves!
Checks and Counters
Normal-resistant Pokémon: Pokémon such as Carracosta, Regirock, and Ferroseed can easily switch into Furret's Double Edge and proceed to cripple it or set up entry hazards. Ferroseed is especially a problem, as it takes neutral damage from U-turn and chips Furret back with Iron Barbs and Leech Seed while setting up hazards.
Fighting-Types: Physically bulky Fighting-types such as Gurdurr and Throh can take a hit from Furret and proceed to KO it or set up a Bulk Up. Other Pokemon such as Hitmonchan, Primeape, Passimian, and Poliwrath don't enjoy taking a Double Edge but nonetheless can still force out Furret with their Fighting STAB moves.
Physically Bulky Pokémon: Physically bulky Pokémon such as Weezing, Gastrodon, Musharna, Gourgeist-XL, and Palossand can switch into basically any of Furret's attacks and proceed to force it out with the threat of status or just generally deal heavy damage to it.
