Pet Mod Fusion Evolution Rarely Used | Closure

Slate review time for FERU. All of these fusions looks very exciting so far and I'm looking forward to how the meta develops.

:tornadus-therian::torracat:
Torranadus-Therian
Honestly, there's not much I can say that hasn't already been said. It's a very solid, very versatile mon and is going to be a very dominating for the foreseeable future of FERU. It does exactly what Tornadus-Therian usually does (since it runs Boots anyway) but with a more versatile movepool and a better defensive typing overall. One thing to note though is since this mon is basically forced to run Boots, it also means this mon is going to be quite prone to Knock Off and the inevitable FERU "ability that disables items" so keep those in mind.

:togedemaru::kabutops:
Togetops
I have... mixed feelings about this mon. On one hand, it looks like a very cool offensive sweeper with access to pivoting, priority, great offensive coverage, Swords Dance for sweeping, and a great defensive typing. On the other hand though, this mon's defensive typing combined with it's ability makes it have a typing that is Fairy/Steel type levels of excellent, it can basically switch-in free on most Electric type moves and mons with it's ability and actually use that as a way to Set-Up, and the fact that all of my future fusions that will be Electric type will have to be wary about the existence of this goddamn-

Anyway, what I'm saying is this mon seems like a very strong offensive threat for FERU that has a very powerful way of circumventing it's weakness and turning it into a strength. Though it is a great addition to the meta, it is not great for all of my future Electric type fusions. Be careful around this mon.

:toxicroak::magcargo:
Toxicargo
This mon does seem to be the most underwhelming out of all of the newcomers, however it does have a niche that actually has some great significance, it's immunity to Water type moves. Fire/Poison is a very good defensive typing, but like Togetops of before, Toxicargo takes a page out of it's book by making one of it's biggest weaknesses into it's greatest strength; it gains health from Water type moves instead of losing health. Astonishingly, this actually could give it potentially a positive matchup against certain Water type combination. Though that's my predictions, it could be an entirely different story once more mons enter the meta, so take that with a grain of salt. Even then, you cannot deny it's ability to switch into Water type moves and actually does very well against both Swampflora and Togetops; the former 4x resisting Grass and walling it so long as it doesn't have Earthquake, and the latter 2x resisting Steel while basically completely walling it since Togetops isn't gonna use Earth Power (45 SpA is real bad even against 4x weakness). Toxicargo being immune to both Burn and Poison is honestly very nice, and it has Recover which gives it that much needed longevity over the course of a match. Shell Smash funni.

:claydol::malamar:
Claylamar
This mon seems to play almost like Claydol as a defensive Spinner and setter that can pivot with Teleport, which is honestly still pretty good in it of itself. However this mon does have a few things that set it apart and gives a bit more versatility. For one, Ground/Dark is a much better defensive typing than Ground/Psychic. This typing also gives it immunity to Prankster as well as allowing it to absorb Knock Off. Speaking of Knock Off, this is also Claylamar's other part of utility that it has access to. Knock Off is just a very good move all around, and as previously stated by earl allows it to scare off the other defensive newcomer in Torranadus-Therian. There's really nothing much else to say about this mon, it just seems like a very well rounded spinner that has a good matchup with the rest of the newcomers.

On a side note, the reason why I didn't talk about the Contrary part of the ability is because I honestly don't think it's as big of a deal as one might think. The +1 extra evasion it gets from Defog, while potentially useful could also be potentially useless and doesn't really deter defog users since it doesn't makes Claylamar more threatening, just slightly more annoying to deal with. Superpower could be useful, I admit, but I don't see it being any more impactful in a game than pivoting or Toxic which gives more utility in general through safe switches or crippling offensive threats. I may be wrong about this though.

I'll do the other 4 mons later, I'm pretty tired atm.

Ability Description:
Notable Moves:
Ice Punch, Ice Hammer, Drain Punch, Close Combat, Earthquake, Thunder Punch, Throat Chop, Mach Punch, Rapid Spin
nil
Substitute, Toxic, Bulk Up
Intended Role: Physical Wallbreaker
Role Justification: Ice Fighting is cool. Crabomonchan utilitzes its typing better than its parent thanks to a better speed tier + priority. Coverage is fire, it matches up poorly with the fires in the tier, but it can pack coverage if necessary.

Notable Moves:
V-Create, Crunch, U-turn, Bolt Strike,
Blue Flare, Dark Pulse, Glaciate, Focus Blast, Inferno, Thunder, Final Gambit
Hypnosis, Nasty Plot
Intended Role: Physical Wallbreaker, Special Wallbreaker
Role Justification: Zweilini is a cunning wallbreaker, with an ability that makes missing next to impossible, while coming with the caveat that all of its physical sets are somewhat weakened. Notable Moves:

Fluer Cannon, Draco Meteor, Dazzling Gleam, Fire Blast, Volt Switch, Stored Power
Will O Wisp, Shift Gear, Calm Mind, Trick, Pain Split
Intended Role: Special Wallbreaker, Set Up Sweeper, Offensive Pivot
Role Justification: Magloak is a speedy pivot with access to pivoting and can attenpt to wallbreak via its 130 BP Dual STABs. Shift Gear sets are technically also an option, but with Magloak's near batren options its unlikely to put in work.

Stealth Rock, Rock Polish
Intended Role: Physical Wallbreaker
Role Justification: Stonjolurk is a powerful wallbreaker that sacrifices it's itemslot for power. It's dual STAB is exceptionally potent at breaking teams in half. New Ability: The Trees = (Chlorophyll + Tangling Hair)
Ability Description: If hit by a contact move, this Pokémon’s speed is raised by 1 stage
Notable Moves:
Seed Bomb, Iron Head, Knock Off, Earthquake

Swords Dance, Defog
Intended Role: Physical Wallbreaker, Setup Sweeper, Hazard Control
Role Justification: Welp, I buffed tangling hair. Essentially, I turned it into a comeback mechanic, and the fusion gets decent enough physical bulk to use it, too. Given the small amount of weaknesses this has, I can see it being useful when facing most physical mons. Anyway, in terms of attacks, you have your STABs, Koff, and a counter for your 4x weakness. Both SD and Defog are self-explanatory.

Ability Description: When this Pokémon is afflicted with a status, it gets a 1.5x boost to its Special Attack
Notable Moves:

Earth Power, Thunderbolt, Volt Switch, Ice Beam
Stealth Rock
Intended Role: Special Wallbreaker, Offensive Pivot, Hazard Setter
Role Justification: It’s special Guts, baby. Stealth Rock to set up before the status, or Volt Switch to get out before popping the ability (or after given the situation). Earth Power and Thunderbolt for STABs, of course. Finally, we have Ice Beam, which I’m very surprised Marowak had.

Ability Description: Effects of Moxie, atk can’t be lowered
Notable Moves:
Close Combat, Brave Bird, U-turn

Bulk Up, Defog
Intended Role: Physical Wallbreaker, Setup Sweeper, Offensive Pivot, Hazard Control
Role Justification: For the few moves I put up here, this mon does quite a lot, and that’s without mentioning coverage. First off you have Close Combat and Brave Bird for STABs. Then comes U-turn so honchkrow finally gets a damn pivot. Bulk Up for setups and Defog for hazard control, of course. Finally, the ability’s just Moxie with an expansion pass.

Ability Description: On switch-in, if this Pokémon doesn’t have an item, it takes the opponent’s item.
Notable Moves:
Throat Chop, Knock Off, Close Combat, Mach Punch, Rapid Spin, Triple Axel

Swords Dance
Intended Role: Physical Wallbreaker, Setup Sweeper, Hazard Control
Role Justification: Here we have a gimmick mon. Consider stealing a life orb, a berry, or even a choice item from an opponent with an item strat, and taking that advantage for yourself. And yet, despite the ability, it could still reasonably use Knock Off after getting an item. For other attacks, you have Throat Chop and Close Combat for flat damage STABs, Mach Punch for priority, Rapid Spin to get rid of hazards and add a bit of speed, and Triple Axel to counter flying mons. Regardless of how the meta shapes up, I could see this being used throughout for ability-stealing shenanigans.

Notable Moves:

Dragon Dance, Defog, Roost
Intended Role: Physical Wallbreaker, Setup Sweeper, Offensive Pivot, Hazard Control
Role Justification: Let’s start this by mentioning I’m scared of just using the effects of both these abilities, given they’re two of the best abilities in the base game, so I gave one a minor buff based on the other. That said, the ability itself is rather self explanatory, as are Dragon Dance, Defog, and Roost. The moves come down to STABs, a pivot, and fuckin EQ. Psychic, Dark Pulse, Dazzling Gleam
Nasty Plot, Roost, Stealth Rock, Haze, Defog, Light Screen, Reflect
Intended Role: Physical Wallbreaker, Special Wallbreaker, Setup Sweeper, Offensive Pivot, Setup Check, Hazard Setter, Hazard Control
Role Justification: Beating the other lakebird submitters to the punch here, I wanna see how one may fare before the onslaught of lake trio bird Pokémon coming next slate. If this gets in, looks like we’ll be getting a lot of Uxie birds. Anyway, this does a lot. Levitate’s just a nice ability but Prankster’s where the uniqueness of this mon comes in. This allows for priority recovery in Roost, among other things. That said, might as well list off the other important status moves this get. Use Nasty Plot for special setups, Haze for setup control Stealth Rock for hazards, Defog for hazard control, and screens for screen things. Both physical and special moves of importance include STABs (Koff moment) and Fairy coverage so as to hit dark types more effectively. This also gets U-turn for pivoting.

New Ability: Water Pressure = (Pressure + Water Compaction)
Ability Description: Effects of both.
Notable Moves:
Metal Burst
Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse, Earth Power, Flamethrower
Shore Up, Stealth Rock, Trick Room
Intended Role: Physical Wall, Hazard Setter, TR Abuser
Role Justification: Dialgast works great as a physical wall, and is able to hit back hard with STAB Draco Meteor and Earth Power (which is huge, considering how much of the meta is 4x weak to ground atm). It's able to consistently check threats throughout the battle thanks to Shore Up, and its bulk gives it tons of opportunities to set rocks in most games. Not to mention, its ability allows it to switch into physical Water-type attacks with impunity, as the defense boost makes it nigh-unkillable on the physical side. However, its special bulk is lacking, and it has to deal with a 4x weakness to Ice (Mega Swampflora's Ice Punch deals 70-80% even with max bulk), along with an extremely low speed stat. It also outspeeds Swalurchin and OHKOs with Earth Power, but I imagine Swalurchin will start running enough speed to Ice Beam it anyway. Overall, Dialgast seems like a balanced wall, and a good addition to the meta.

Ability Description: Effects of both.
Notable Moves:
Aura Wheel, Ice Fang, Play Rough, Superpower, Volt Switch

Parting Shot
Intended Role: Offensive Pivot, Physical Wallbreaker
Role Justification: Luxray is an interesting Pokemon, but it ends up sucking due to mediocre stats and a barren movepool. Luxpeko still dies to any super effective hit, but it now has the attack and speed to make use of Guts effectively. Additionally, it gets both Parting Shot and Volt Switch to give it effective pivoting options. Any offensive Electric-type in this metagame has to be wary of Togetops, as Motor Drive makes it difficult to hit super-effectively. However, Luxpeko doesn't have that issue, as with effective prediction, it can outspeed and one-shot with a Feed The Cold-boosted Superpower. While its STAB combination isn't the greatest, and its bulk is nonexistent, Luxpeko would make a definite impact on the metagame.

Ability Description: Effects of both.
Notable Moves:
Knock Off, Rapid Spin
Giga Drain, Ice Beam, Sludge Bomb
Aromatherapy, Leech Seed, Spikes, Synthesis, Toxic, Toxic Spikes
Intended Role: Hazard Setter, Special Wall, Cleric
Role Justification: I really want Liquid Ooze in the meta. Also the ability name is funny. But anyway, Tentarose works very similarly to Roserade, in that it gets in, sets hazards, gets out. However, Tentarose also gets a very meaty Special Defense stat, which allows it to tank special hits, and work as a cleric with Aromatherapy. It also sits on Serpeblim. Unfortunately, its physical bulk is garbage, and its best recovery is Synthesis, so it still won't be living too many hits.

Ability Description: Effects of Regenerator. Switches out when it starts raining.
Notable Moves:
Knock Off
Hydro Pump, Sacred Fire, Scorching Sands, Thunder
Defog, Haze, Rain Dance, Roost, Toxic Spikes, Will-O-Wisp
Intended Role: Weather Setter, Special Wall, Hazard Setter
Role Justification: Realistically, a classical weather setter in RU is going to have to have some crippling weakness, like Politoed's complete lack of reliable recovery and mediocre stats, to be balanced. So, instead of that, why not just use manual weather? Cool-Oh's ability takes away the main downside of manual weather: the fact that, by the time you get your weather abuser out, you'll have already wasted 2 turns of the weather. With Cool-Oh, you can set Rain and switch in your abuser on the same turn, all while taking hits from faster mons thanks to its great special bulk, then healing off any damage Cool-Oh has taken with Rain-generator. Even on its own, Cool-Oh can work as a Special Wall and reasonably powerful attacker, with rain-boosted Hydro Pumps and 100% accurate Thunders. Sacred Fire or Will'O'Wisp can spread burns, and it can even set Toxic Spikes (though, realistically, there are better setters). Despite all this, it still has to deal with atrocious physical bulk, mediocre offenses, and rain weakening its own Fire attacks. Overall, an interesting take on the 'Weather Setter' archetype.

Ability Description: Effects of both.
Notable Moves:
Body Press, Explosion, Heavy Slam

Defog, Roost, Spikes, Stealth Rock, Taunt, Thunder Wave, Toxic, Whirlwind, Aurora Veil, Iron Defense
Intended Role: Hazard Setter, Mixed Wall
Role Justification: Dedicated hazard setter. Extremely good bulk almost guarantees it rocks and at least 1 layer of spikes against anything without Fire or Fighting coverage. 120 defense makes its Body Press hit hard, but STAB Heavy Slam also does a respectable amount. Also has reliable recovery in Roost. Unfortunately, two 4x weaknesses hurt it quite a lot as a wall, and without toxic, it's incredibly passive, and can work as setup fodder for any non-Fighting weak sweeper. Gets shafted by any Torranadus set with Flamethrower.

Ability Description: Effects of both.
Notable Moves:
Knock Off
Moonblast, Psyshock
Pain Split, Taunt, Toxic, Trick, Teleport, Will'O'Wisp, Destiny Bond, Heal Bell, Magic Coat, Trick Room
Intended Role: Defensive Pivot, Cleric
Role Justification: First, this thing is getting hardcoded to 1HP. Had to get that out of the way. Now, Shedinja is arguably one of the best Pokemon in the game at forcing switch-ins. Wonder Guard makes any attacker without super-effective coverage or status have to switch out, or risk being stalled into oblivion. Unfortunately, Shedinja has way too many weaknesses to common attacking types, way too few viable moves, and way too low stats to ever be used except on extremely gimmicky stall teams. So, what if I took Shedinja, gave it a typing that wasn't weak to knock off, and gave it Teleport to best abuse the switches it forces? That's Gardinja. Gardinja isn't made to get its own KOs, though it does have enough Special Attack to deal reasonable chip damage with STAB Moonblast. Instead, Gardinja is all about disrupting the opponent's sweepers, then switching out to something that can kill their Gardinja answer. To help support this, it gets moves like Trick and Will'O'Wisp, allowing it to stay in and cripple those answers itself. Pain Split is basically just Super Fang but it can also hit Ghost-types. Even Heal Bell is viable, given the amount of times it gets free turns throughout a battle. However, it will die to any super effective hit, any status, and is forced to use Heavy-Duty Boots, or die instantly to rocks. Hopefully, this is a Shedinja fusion that isn't broken, however crazy that may sound.

Fast attacker that trades an item for damage output
:swsh/nidoking::swsh/liepard:
DNA Donors: Nidoking / Liepard
Fusion Name: Lieking
New Types:

Base Stats: 92 / 95 / 63 / 95 / 63 / 105 [BST: 513] (+20 HP / +0 Atk / +0 Def / +9 SpA / +1 SpD / +10 Spe)
New Ability: Gloves Off = (Rivalry + Unburden)
Ability Description: This Pokemon's attacks do 1.25x if it is not holding an item; 0.75x if it is holding an item.
Notable Moves:
… Knock Off, Sucker Punch, Earthquake, Gunk Shot, U-Turn
… Sludge Wave, Earth Power, Dark Pulse, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam
… Nasty Plot, Hone Claws, Taunt
Intended Role: Setup Sweeper (Nasty Plot, Hone Claws), Offensive Pivot
Role Justification: this is a fast mixed attacker that trades the use of an item for increased damage. this also provides it with a niche use as a Knock absorber; it resists dark already, and despite not being the bulkiest thing in the world, since it won't usually have an item, Knock Off doesn't get a damage increase against it either.
its high speed tier means that it can outspeed and threaten Togetops, although it has to be wary of Aqua Jet, and needs to be brought in safely.
it also sets itself apart from Claylamar with its more offense-oriented stat spread.
it also has nice synergy with any terrain setters that might be subbed in the future, as the terrain seeds are consumable, giving it both a stat boost and its boosted damage output.
its checks? priority for one. it's pretty frail, and so it can't take many hits. the inability to use an item without crippling itself also means that anything faster than it will likely threaten it as well through offensive pressure. surprisingly, Trick cripples it as well, as giving it an item reduces its damage.

New Ability: Handiman = (Technician + Static)
Ability Description: component effects.
Notable Moves:
… Mach Punch, Close Combat, Fake Out, Extreme Speed, Volt Tackle, Knock Off, Earthquake, Sucker Punch, Triple Axel, Stone Edge, Rapid Spin
… Bulk Up
Intended Role: Choice Band/Scarf, Setup Sweeper (Bulk Up), Hazard Removal (Rapid Spin)
Role Justification: this is a versatile physical attacker with a ton of options for utility and offense.
starting off, it has very powerful STABs in Close Combat and Volt Tackle. While the latter has recoil, the damage output makes up for it.
for coverage, it has a looot of things it can use for the threats of this meta. to cover Grounds like Claylamar, it has Triple Axel, which also gets Technician boosted. while there aren't any psychics yet, it can use Sucker Punch and Knock Off to cover those as well, with the latter even being able to remove Torranadus' Boots. Earthquake covers Swalurchin and Toxicargo, and Mach Punch can deal with Togetops.
the downsides to this mon are:
4mss. it can't run everything, and so it's bound to lose out on some coverage. it notably doesn't have anything in particular for Swampflora, who, while it doesn't have any STABs that threaten it, does have Earthquake, and that will be something it has to watch out for.
Serpeblim is a problem for it, as not only does it threaten with Will-o-Wisp, since most of them run Colbur Berries, Knock Off isn't as effective, and Sucker Punch is unreliable.

New Ability: Surgeon Eye = (Regenerator + Analytic)
Ability Description:
Notable Moves:
… Knock Off
… Psychic, Psyshock, Tri Attack, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Flamethrower, Dazzling Gleam, Future Sight
… Recover, Teleport, Toxic, Nasty Plot, Trick Room, Encore, Wish, Heal Bell, Calm Mind
Intended Role: Mixed Wall, Cleric, Setup Sweeper (Calm Mind, Nasty Plot), Cleric
Role Justification:
this is a versatile, bulky Regen mon that can function both offensively and defensively due to Surgeon Eye.
Regenerator + Teleport gives it a nice way of getting others in safely, and Analytic + its high Special Attack means it isn't passive either, especially with Nasty Plot at its disposal.
this can also run a RegenVest set, as it has access to BoltBeam + Flamethrower, or a Cleric set with Heal Bell and Wish.
even the mega, which normally has a poor ability for singles, gets Recover and a better defensive typing in Normal/Fairy, at the cost of your Psychic typing.
the main downsides it has are its abysmal speed. while that's great for using Analytic, it also means it's easy to revenge kill.
another downside is that non-mega sets struggle with Claylamar, who hits the Super Effectively. Mega sets have to deal with Swalurchin, who, with no Psychic STAB and a now-weakness to Poison, could be an issue for it.

Ability Description: component effects.
Notable Moves:

… Blizzard, Freeze-Dry, Earth Power, Focus Blast, Draco Meteor, Ice Beam
… Roost, Substitute, Aurora Veil, Toxic
Intended Role: Special Wallbreaker, Choice Specs/Scarf
Role Justification: this mon functions as a somewhat toned down version of Kyurem, with the added benefit of Snow Warning.
as such, it can use said ability to use no-miss Blizzards or to set up Aurora Veil in addition to Kyurem's natural sets.
however, running Veil means you lose out on Roost meaning little longevity, Substitute, making you susceptible to Toxic, or coverage in Earth Power or Freeze-Dry. Specs or Scarf sets can also be run, but like base Kyurem, 25% chip on switchin hurts.

Ability Description:
Notable Moves:
… U-turn
… Focus Blast, Psychic, Psyshock, Draco Meteor, Flamethrower,
… Nasty Plot, Roost, Switcheroo
Intended Role: Choice Scarf/Specs, Setup Sweeper (Nasty Plot)
Role Justification: this is a fast Nasty Plot user with Strong STABs. due to its high stats in Speed and Special attack, it can also function as a potent choice item user, able to cripple pokemon that rely on status moves, like Serpeblim, via Trick/Switcheroo, and has pivoting Utility in U-Turn.
however it's held back by those same STABS having immunities. dark types like Claylamar can easily soak Psychic attacks, and Fairies (when we get some) will be able to take its other main stab, being immune to Dragon.
it's also suffers a bit from 4mss. it can't run everything it wants to, and as such will miss out on recovery, pivoting, or coverage with whatever set it runs.

…Dazzling Gleam, Mystical Fire, Psychic, Psyshock
… Shell Smash, Recover, Stealth Rock, Toxic, Spikes, Aromatherapy
Intended Role: Mixed Wall, Hazard Setter (Stealth Rock, Spikes), Setup Sweeper (Shell Smash)
Role Justification:
this is a bulky mixed wall with lots of options (as Alcremie tends to give). first off, let's talk utility.
it has Recover for longevity, Spikes and Stealth Rock for hazard setting, and Aromatherapy for status curing.
offensively, it lacks Special Rock STAB outside of Meteor Beam, but having access to Shell Smash and an immunity to Taunt can make this a potent sweeper with White Herb, especially with Stored Power at its disposal.
its main weakness lies in its Togetops matchup. it's 4x weak to Steel, and it doesn't really do anything back with its STABs.

… Strength Sap, Aromatherapy, Spore, Leech Seed
Intended Role: Mixed Wall
Role Justification: A Poison/Fairy type with recovery options like Strength Sap that serves as a half-passive Moonblast/Sludge Bomb attacker with Effect Spore and Spore for crippling enemies. It has a decent Special Attack stat so it can deal effective damage as well, but it dies against Steel-types and fast Psychic-types, but on the bright side it would be able to fight a fair matchup most Fighting-types. It would also have to be careful around Ground-types, considering it is weak against them.

Preview: Set-Up Sweeper that pressures Walls not to heal against it. Now Rebranded.
New Types:

Base Stats: 80 / 64 / 85 / 100 / 85 / 108 [BST: 522] (+7 HP / +0 Atk / +10 Def / +0 SpA / +10 SpD / +13 Spe)
New Ability: Parroting = (Dancer + Wonder Skin)
Ability Description: After another Pokemon uses a status move, this Pokemon uses the same move. Moves used by this Ability cannot be copied again.

Notable Moves:
U-Turn
Dazzling Gleam, Heat Wave, Revelation Dance, Shadow Ball
Calm Mind, Defog, Roost

Intended Role: Special Set-Up Sweeper (Calm Mind), Stallbreaker (Ability)
Role Justification: It has great stats, being pretty fast and, given the meta so far, pretty decent Sp Atk. Its got some pretty good STABs, and with Dazzling Gleam it gets very good coverage. Other than good stats and pretty good coverage, its ability allows it to pressure its opponent. Walls cannot heal without also healing Oricolyph, opponent has to be wary of setting up when you could predict the move so Oricolyph also gets stat boosts, it hardcounters Teleport by guaranteeing you a safe switch into a mon that counters the opponent (And to the same extent, Parting Shot if the opponent doesn't have Claylamar), pressures the foe to not set hazards, etc. Overall a strong mon with a nice gimmick to support its back.

:swsh/honchkrow::swsh/mudsdale:
mudskrow.png
mudskrow-s.png

Preview: Bulky Ground/Flying that hits hard and gains Attack over time.
New Types:

Base Stats: 100 / 125 / 80 / 80 / 75 / 53 [BST: 513] (+0 HP / +0 Atk / +4 Def / +0 SpA / +7 SpD / +0 Spe)
New Ability: Build Up = (Stamina + Moxie)
Ability Description: This Pokemon's Attack is raised by 1 stage after it is damaged by a move.

Notable Moves:
Brave Bird, Close Combat, Earthquake
Defog, Roost, Stealth Rock

Intended Role: Wallbreaker, Phisical Wall, Hazard Control
Role Justification: What's there to say that isn't clear, it's fat, hits hard, sets up by existing and has a great type both defensively and offensively. Lack of Stone Edge does kinda hurt if we ever get a flying/electric though.

:swsh/incineroar::swsh/primarina:

Preview: Mixed Attacker with great coverage and good bulk; Parting Shot / Flip Turn / U-Turn pivot.
New Types:

Base Stats: 87 / 94 / 82 / 103 / 103 / 60 [BST: 529] (+0 HP / +0 Atk / +0 Def / +0 SpA / +0 SpD / +0 Spe)
New Ability: Dominant Roar = (Liquid Voice + Intimidate)
Ability Description: Sound moves used by this Pokémon lower the Attack of hit opponents.

Notable Moves:
Flip Off, Knock Off, Liquidation, Play Rough, U-Turn
Dark Pulse, Hydro Pump, Moonblast, Scald, Sparkling Aria
Nasty Plot, Parting Shot, Swords Dance

Intended Role: Offensive Pivot
Role Justification: Big stats guy. Water/Dark/Fairy is very good coverage, can set up well, has means of pivotting and its ability helps deter physical attackers from switching in (And in turn it has pretty good special bulk).

:swsh/wigglytuff::swsh/vikavolt:
wigglyvolt.png
wigglyvolt-s.png

Preview: Bulky Hazards setter that punishes Defog/Strength Sap, deals decent damage and has wide coverage.
New Types:

Base Stats: 108 / 70 / 77 / 115 / 72 / 54 [BST: 496] (+0 HP / +0 Atk / +10 Def / +0 SpA / +10 SpD / +10 Spe)
New Ability: Fight and Flight = (Competitive + Levitate)
Ability Description: Effects of both abilities.

Notable Moves:
Knock Off
Dazzling Gleam, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Volt Switch
Roost, Stealth Rock, Sticky Web, Tleport

Intended Role: Offensive Pivot, Hazard Control, Hazard Setter
Role Justification: Punishes Defog and Serpeblim's Strength Sap, hits relatively hard, great movepool. Can set hazards and keep itself healthy, has the bulk to make up for its low Speed and has a good typing both defensively and offensively.

:swsh/mismagius::swsh/tentacruel:
mismacruel.png
mismacruel-s.png

Preview: Fast Nasty Plot mon that can also go Choiced
New Types:

Base Stats: 70 / 73 / 62 / 102 / 112 / 112 [BST: 531] (+0 HP / +8 Atk / +0 Def / +10 SpA / +0 SpD / +10 Spe)
New Ability: Cumulus = (Levitate + Rain Dish)
Ability Description: Effects of both abilities

Notable Moves:
Knock Off, Rapid Spin
Dazzling Gleam, Mystical Fire, Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb
Nasty Plot, Trick

Intended Role: Choice Scarf, Set-Up Sweeper
Role Justification: Gengar At Home. Misses out on Focus Blast but Mystical Fire helps mitigate that somewhat. STABs + Mystical Fire + Dazzling Gleam hit everything, and if you're feeling funky there are some interesting other coverage options in case there is a specific mon you want to target. NP is very dangerous and Scarf isn't bad at all if the metagame keeps the current Speed Tier of 105 to 110.

:swsh/bruxish::swsh/calyrex:
bruxyrex.png
bruxyrex-s.png

Preview: Relatively fast mon that deal great physical damage, can set-up with SD
New Types:

Base Stats: 84 / 102 / 75 / 75 / 75 / 106 [BST: 517] (+0 HP / +10 Atk / +0 Def / +0 SpA / +0 SpD / +20 Spe)
New Ability: Jaw Deity = (Strong Jaw + Unnerve)
Ability Description: Strong Jaw + Foe cannot use Biting moves

Notable Moves:
Aqua Jet, Ice Fang, Liquidation, Psychic Fangs, Seed Bomb
Swords Dance, Trick

Intended Role: Set-Up Sweeper, Choice Scarf
Role Justification: Amped up Bruxish. Does what Bruxish can but with better stats and like 2 total relevant moves from Calyrex.

Utility.
DNA Donors: Diancie / Wigglytuff
Fusion Name: Diantuff
New Types:

Base Stats: 95 / 90 / 105 / 95 / 105 / 65 [BST: 555] (+0 HP / +5 Atk / +8 Def / +3 SpA / +5 SpD / +18 Spe)
New Ability: Metal Detector = (Clear Body + Frisk)
Ability Description: Component effects.
Notable Moves:
Play Rough, Diamond Storm, Body Press, Knock Off, Fire/Ice Punch, Wild Charge, Explosion
Moonblast, Earth Power, Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Grass Knot, Shadow Ball, Stored Power
Stealth Rock, Wish, Thunder Wave, Heal Bell, Encore, Calm Mind, Curse, Teleport
Intended Role: Utility, Hazard Setter (Stealth Rock), Set-up Sweeper (Calm Mind, Curse), Cleric (Heal Bell, Wish)
Role Justification: Bulky fairy who can do a lot of things at once, but not at the same time. You've got Frisk to identify items, rocks, Wish, HB, the list goes on. It can even be a surprise sweeper with Curse or a more traditional one with Calm Mind. However, Diantuff can't recover instantly, needing an exploitable Wish to be able to gain half of its health. Plus, it's quite slow and is Taunt bait.

Swords Dance, Bulk Up, Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Aromatherapy, Sleep Powder, Stun Spore, Rest
Intended Role: Utility, Sweeper (Physical and Special), Revenge Killer (Priority, Scarf)
Role Justification: Bulky grass which can come in and threaten Togetops p nicely. It also spikes and spins and has support stuff with powders. It also has natural cure, meaning it can switch into status. Loses p badly to torranadus if you don’t se it on the switch, and physical sets lose to serpeblim

Ability Description: Pokemon making contact with this Pokemon lose 1/8 of their max HP. This Pokemon's contact moves have 1.2x power.
Notable Moves:
… Earthquake, U-Turn, Knock Off, Stone Edge, Ice Punch
… Stealth Rock, Swords Dance, Defog, Roost
Intended Role: pivot, physical breaker, hazards
Role Justification: bulky Grounds are always cool. Typing matches up well against Swalurchin and Toxicargo. It does struggle with all of the bulky Waters we have but it does get options for them.

Ability Description: Starts in Blade Form. At half health, turns to Shield form and Atk/SpA are halved (Has no interaction with King's Shield).
Notable Moves:
… Knock Off, U-Turn, Earthquake, Close Combat
… Flash Cannon, Air Slash, Meteor Beam, Focus Blast, Earth Power
… Roost, Stealth Rock, Swords Dance
Intended Role: mixed breaker/mixed wall, pivot, hazards and removal

Notable Moves:
… Knock Off, Dual Wingbeat, U-Turn, Close Combat
… Ice Beam, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt
… Swords Dance, Teleport, Wish, Roost, Reflect, Light Screen, Trick Room setter
Intended Role: defensive pivot, screens, Trick Room setter, physical breaker
Role Justification: Stealing Saturn's ability from Alpha creates a pretty cool defensive pivot that can also attempt an SD set. Magic Bounce has a lot of utility so far against Serpeblim and defensive Togetops, especially against Spikes which is about the only non-niche use of the ability's second bounce. Notable Moves:
… Bolt Strike/Fusion Bolt, Triple Axel, Earthquake, Knock Off
… Volt Switch
… Swords Dance, Defog, Roost, Spikes, Rapid Spin, Stealth Rock
Intended Role: physical breaker, spinner, hazards
Role Justification: Physical breaker with strong dual STAB and takes full advantage of Teravolt's interaction with a lot of abilities (Levitate, Sticky Hold, Motor Drive, Thick Fat, Magic Bounce, etc.). Trying to fit it all in one set is probably enough of a challenge though.

Ability Description: Combined effects.
Notable Moves:
… Sucker Punch, U-Turn, Extreme Speed, Double Edge
… Techno Blast, Ice Beam
… Shift Gear, Calm Mind, Shift Gear
Intended Role: physical/special/mixed breaker, offensive pivot
Role Justification: So first I need to clarify two things about Normalize: the first being that it provides the 1.2x boost to pre-existing Normal-moves (so Extreme Speed is 96 BP), and the second being that it doesn't affect Techno Blast. This would mean that this Pokemon could feasibly give up its item for a 120 BP coverage move needed to cover its Ghost, Steel and Rock gap (Electric/Water cover all three, whereas Fire is riskier; not sure if Ice would be viable). I think between Extreme Speed, Techno Blast and U-Turn you could feasibly run a mixed set, though I guess Shift Gear could be an option with its weird physical options.

Ability Description: Under grassy surge, this pokemon's move have their priority increased by 1.
Notable/Relevant/Useful Moves:
Horn Leech, Leaf Blade, Wild Charge, Flame Charge, U-turn, Earthquake (?)
Overheat, Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Energy Ball

New Ability: Defying Stagnation = (Limber + Defiant)
Ability Description: This pokemon cannot be paralyzed. When it would be paralyzed its attack stat goes up by two stages.
Notable Moves:
: Brave Bird, Fake Out, U-Turn, Close Combat, Knock Off
: Bulk Up, Defog, Roost
Intended Role: Physical Sweeper, Hazard Removal (Defog)
Role Justification: Alright so apparently there's this ghost snake thing that has glare and people find to be annoying. I figured this would make it somewhat less annoying, despite the fact that ghost snake can carry wisp as well. Regardless here you have something that is sleek, sophisticated, and technically a griffon. It hits fairly hard, is pretty damn fast for the meta, and can possibly deal with a current annoyance.

Ability Description: This pokemon is immune to damage from water type moves.
Notable Moves:
: U-Turn
: Focus Blast, Hydro Pump, Surf, Air Slash, Ice Beam, Energy Ball, Shadow ball
: Calm Mind
Intended Role: Special Sweeper
Role Justification: Okay I know we just got a lot of water types this slate, but this is a bit of a check for Togetops, another mon who I have heard was a bit much to deal with in the meta due to its ability granting an electric immunity. Now sure I could have made a Zekrom fusion or fused some other electric type with a mon that has mold breaker, but special fighting types aren't super common. What this thing would do is out speed the orb and hopefully land a focus blast on it. Also it has a mega but said mega is probably banned.

New Ability: Big Metal = (Big Pecks + Heavy Metal)
Ability Description: Has the effect of both abilities.
Notable Moves:
: Heavy Slam, U-Turn, Heat Crash, Earthquake, Brave Bird
: Roost, Defog, Stealth Rock, Toxic
Intended Role: Physical Wall, Hazard Removal (Defog), Hazard Setter (Stealth Rock)
Role Justification: Alright so I know this doesn't really look like a physical wall but it does have some pretty good physical bulk. On top of that it having a good attack stat means it can actually attack instead of just stalling the opponent. It also has a mega which if legal can actually make use of Copperajah's surprisingly decent special movepool. All in all bootleg Corveot isn't a terrible addition.

Ability Description: Has the effect of both abilities.
Notable Moves:
: Leaf Blade, Iron Tail, Iron Head Close Combat, Dynamic Punch, Psycho Cut, Rock Slide
: Dragon Dance, Synthesis, Leech Seed, Toxic, Destiny Bond
Intended Role: Physical Wall, Set Up Sweeper
Role Justification: Okay so this one is a bit more versatile than I originally thought because Sceptile gets dragon dance which is something I totally didn't forget about. Out of anything this makes me like it even more as it means that it can both go on the offensive and the defensive. Likewise it gets a mega as well, which would play similarly to the physical variant now with an added electric immunity, assuming it doesn't get banned,

Notable Moves:
: Thunderbolt, Volt Switch, Scald, Draco Meteor, Aura Sphere
: Thunder Wave, Defog, Roost, Toxic, Calm Mind, Healing Wish
Intended Role: Special Wall, Hazard Removal (Defog), Defensive Pivot
Role Justification: Between the two special attackers right now both of them would have some trouble dealing with Latichou due to its defensive typing. In fact due to its two immunities it can be used to switch in on a decent amount of pokemon circa now.

New Ability: Desert Dweller = (Sand Veil + Ice Scales)
Ability Description: The user is treated as if it were a Rock-type by Sandstorm.
Notable Moves:
no
Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Volt Switch, Giga Drain
Quiver Dance
Intended Role: QD Setup Sweeper, Sand Abuser
Role Justification: Heliomoth is a unique sand abuser, with an ability that gives it all the benefits of being a Rock-type in Sand while maintaining its potent Electric/Ice STAB combination. It can also be used as a potent Quiver Dance sweeper, and can probably be used as such even outside of Sandstorm.

Ability Description: Effects of both abilities.
Notable Moves:
Earthquake, Stone Edge, U-Turn, Outrage
nope
Defog, Toxic, Slack Off, Stealth Rock, Dragon Dance
Intended Role: Sand Setter, Offensive Pivot, DD Setup Sweeper
Role Justification: All of Flygon's excellent offensive-utility-pivot stuff, with the added bonus of Sand Stream. Notable Moves:

Notable Moves:
Anchor shot, maybe?
Hex, Scald, Energy Ball
Will-o-wisp, Toxic, Taunt, Recover, Strength Sap
Intended Role: Special wall and status spreader

New Ability: Shock Jockey = (Lightning Rod + Guts)
Ability Description: Effects of both abilities
Notable Moves:
Earthquake, Flare Blitz, Close Combat, Knock Off, Bullet Punch, Facade, Flame Charge
no
Swords Dance
Intended Role: Physical Wallbreaker
Role Justification: Marochamp-Alola is the result of an idea I had: a powerful Guts user that happens to be Fire-type, resulting in an inability to use Flame Orb and forcing it to use the significantly less-desirable Toxic Orb. It's an immensely powerful wallbreaker, but it can't stay in for too long or else it takes serious damage from being badly Poisoned. Its primary STAB is Close Combat, due to it not having recoil (unlike Flare Blitz). Earthquake is always a nice option to have, and Knock Off and Bullet Punch provide it with some nice alternatives. It can theoretically act as a setup sweeper with Swords Dance, but is likely far too frail for that to be a good set. Oh yeah its also immune to Electric.

New Ability: Preteen = (Prankster + Protean)
Ability Description: Effect of both abilities
Notable Moves:
Knock Off, Foul Play, Play Rough
Steel Beam
Recover, Stealth Rock, Spikes, Reflect, Light Screen, Defog, Thunder Wave
Intended Role: Special Wall, Suicide Lead, Screen Setter, Hazard Setter (Stealth Rock, Spikes), Hazard Control (Defog)
Role Justification: Its combination of abilities let it play in a pretty unique way, adapting to the coverage the opponent may try at you by changing type to have a better match-up while also doing utility things, turning it into an interesting Suicide Lead as you can also adapt what hazard to lead with to let it last a bit longer, or block a Volt Switch with Spikes. More defensive sets also work thanks to Recover and some utility to cripple the opposing team, and it isn't too passive either with a self-kill option in Steel Beam, and Foul Play for those that appreciate its longevity.

Ability Description: Combined effects.
Notable Moves:
Fusion Bolt, Icicle Spear, Iron Head, Knock Off, Seed Bomb
(Earth Power?)
Dragon Dance, Roost (Stealth Rock? Spikes? Thunder Wave?)
Intended Role: Physical Wallbreaker, Setup Sweeper
Role Justification: Thanks to Teravolt, this mon gets a lot of spammable moves, making it a very potent wallbreaker. While it really wishes it had Swords Dance, Dragon Dance works similarly, even allowing it to outspeed unboosted opponents.

Ability Description: Bounces back Dark-type moves to the opponent.
Notable Moves:
Knock Off, U-turn
Heat Wave, Oblivion Wing, Psychic, Psyshock
Calm Mind, Defog, Roost
Intended Role: Defensive Pivot, Setup Sweeper
Role Justification: Eye for an Eye gives this mon an immunity to a weakness along with letting it keep its Boots better. Has a lot of coverage and Oblivion Wing, a strong option for defensive and offensive sets.

Notable Moves:
First Impression, Knock Off, Poltergeist
Bug Buzz, Fire Blast, Focus Blast, Overheat, Shadow Ball
(Calm Mind?) Light Screen, Reflect, Safeguard, Spikes, Toxic
Intended Role: Screen Setter, Mixed Wallbreaker
Role Justification: Goliselure is an interesting take as a screen setter, being able to switch immediately after setting a screen. While this may sound broken at first, note that it cannot set up both Reflect and Light Screen, and while bulky, it lacks recovery and is rather slow, and is forced to hold boots. It acts as a pivot for bulky offense rather than a screen setter for hyper offense. It's attacking stats aren't too shabby either.

New Ability: Fake Empathy = (Merciless + Synchronize)
Ability Description: Synchronize effects, and this Pokemon's attacks are critical hits if the target is burned, paralyzed, poisoned, or badly poisoned.
Notable/Relevant/Useful Moves:
…Knock Off, Foul Play, Sucker Punch
…Scald, Sludge Bomb, Venoshock
…Toxic Spikes, Taunt, Recover, Wish, Toxic, Heal Bell
Role Justification: A stellar wall and stallbreaker. Similar to Toxalure from FEUU, but with a stronger ability and lower offenses. If a wall inflicts Umbrex with a status condition and isn't immune, they will not only also be affected by what they just inflicted (though this only activates once if you're not using Heal Bell), but they will also guarantee Umbrex's crits against them. Umbrex also has STAB Scald, Sludge Bomb and Toxic Spikes to inflict statuses itself. No set-up moves at all though.

…Coil, Roost, Glare, Taunt, Spikes, Toxic Spikes
Role Justification: Duninja is a unique Protean user that is incentivized to run some types considered inferior options. Without this ability, nobody in their right mind would ever run Bug or Ghost moves as coverage with other options available, and even Dark (the best type of the bunch) is still niche on regular Protean Gren. But with this ability and those move types, its Coil set is capable of speed boosting and sweeping. Its Band Night Slash and Specs Dark Pulse become really hard to revenge kill as well. With its ability, Shadow Sneak, Taunt and Glare, it can even serve as a speed control mon.

Notable/Relevant/Useful Moves:
…Nuzzle
… Meteor Beam, Thunderbolt, Earth Power, Grass Knot, Volt Switch
…Stealth Rock
Role Justification: Giganne combines its ability with STAB Meteor Beam + Power Herb to spam the move and get boosts every turn. Some more niche strategies could be used, like Custap Berry or a physically defensive set with Stealth Rock, Nuzzle and Sitrus Berry or Red Card.

New Ability: Toxic Armor = (Poison Point + Weak Armor)
Ability Description: If this Pokemon is struck by a physical attack, the opponent has a 30% chance be poisoned (NOT badly poisoned).
Notable Moves:
… Earthquake, Knock Off, Stone Edge, Flip Turn, Gunk Shot, Outrage, Play Rough, Scale Shot, Waterfall
… Meteor Beam, Draco Meteor, Focus Blast, Hydro Pump, Scald, Sludge Bomb, Surf, Thunder, Thunderbolt
… Shell Smash, Spikes, Stealth Rock, Toxic, Haze, Toxic Spikes
Intended Role: Setup Sweeper (Shell Smash), Hazard Setter, Pivot
Role Justification: This Pokemon would’ve been BUSTED with Adaptability lol. Anyways, this thing can do a lot. It has access to three hazard moves, making it a possibly decent hazard setter. This is further boosted by access to Flip Turn so you can pivot out on stuff. The most obvious thing here is Shell Smash, and with it, it seems like it becomes a pretty terrifying threat.

Role Justification: This thing has so much shit to pull out, whether it be faclitating some hyper offense with Webs, Rocks, and screens, or being the hyper offense mon with Belly Drum/Sub Calm Mind. Even it’s middling Speed can be fixed with paralysis support or a strong Rock Polish set.

Notable Moves:
Triple Axel, Brave Bird, Flare Blitz, Earthquake, U-Turn, Stone Edge, Superpower
Roost, Taunt, Hail, Belly Drum, Defog
Intended Role: Offensive Pivot, Physical Wallbreaker, Stallbreaker, Hail Abuser
Role Justification: Don't worry, this isn’t the original 1.875x damage multiplier April Fool's version. I actually find this to be a very agreeable offensive Ice-type attacker with solid bulk and stallbreaking capacities at the cost of being boots-locked and lacking any (good) setup. It also opens up the door for a hail archetype in the future, or it can always self set for the weirdest pseudo-DD of all time I guess.

Flash Cannon, Focus Blast, Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt
Stealth Rock, Taunt, Iron Defense, Hone Claws
Intended Role: Mixed Wallbreaker, Physical Wallbreaker, Special Wallbreaker, Stallbreaker, Hazards
Role Justification: A Sheer Force user with solid physical bulk, an incredible defensive typing, and a very, very wide movepool. Both ends have plenty of Sheer Force-boosted attacks, but the (otherwise better) Special side lacks any good Fairy STAB, so I think a physical set with Fire Blast or some other sort of mixed setup may be best here. It also has Stealth Rock if you want to compress that, I guess. Nidoking-esque pick.

Notable Moves:
Knock Off, Counter
Shadow Ball, Psyshock, Dazzling Gleam, Psychic, Thunderbolt, Energy Ball, Hex
Substitute, Calm Mind, Will-O-Wisp, Encore, Disable, Pain Split, Recover
Intended Role: Special Wallbreaker
Role Justification: I think Kadabra and Haunter are both cool low-tier special attackers with 0 bulk, so I thought I'd combine them, give them a 106+ speed tier, and let it rip. Magic Guard allows LO/Sash-Counter cheese, STAB Shadow Ball is wonderfully spammable, and Dazzling Gleam gives the fusion some much-needed Dark coverage. However, neither Haunter nor Kadabra get Focus Blast, so Steel-types should be a good balancing factor. Or just any priority/something faster.

Role Justification: People hate Arena Trap, but I think it is actually kind of cool if the user is well balanced and requires good positioning in order to successfully trap targets. Clean Slate 1 Trapinch fits this description perfectly (if a bit overtuned), so I decided to port over a nerfed version of it. Notable Moves:
U-Turn
Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Flash Cannon, Energy Ball, Psychic, Techno Blast (Douse), Bug Buzz
Rock Polish, Taunt
Intended Role: Special Sweeper
Role Justification: Litleesect is simple. Switch into something you beat, which is easy thanks to being a Steel-type, and either click Rock Polish to outspeed everything or click a Choice Specs boosted move, kill the opponent the next turn, get a Grim Neigh boost, and then win the game. Litleesect has a great movepool to help you do this, with great coverage in STAB Fire Blast, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Energy Ball, and even Douse Drive Techno Blast for Fire-types. It's a bit frail, though, so it may struggle to get going if switched in willy-nilly, but once it gets going, it really gets going.

Hone Claws, Parting Shot, Roost
Intended Role: Offensive Pivot, Physical Wallbreaker
Role Justification: Zeowth is a fast pivot, with 2 very spammable buttons in Knock Off and Bolt Strike (especially since it Teravolts through Togetops' Motor Drive), safe pivoting in Parting Shot, and coverage in Seed Bomb for Claylamar, and Gunk Shot for Swamplora and future Fairies. Extremely one note, but it does what it needs to do. It does have Nasty Plot with a wide special movepool, but just spammable Bolt Strike is gonna be worth it more often than not. It's very frail, so it struggles against Serpeblim and Torranadus, plus Claylamar is bulky enough to not mind Seed Bomb too much and murders it in return.

Nasty Plot, Recover, Teleport, Taunt, Thunder Wave, Trick, Agility
Intended Role: Setup Sweeper, Special Wallbreaker
Role Justification: Clefftwo is here to employ classic Magic Guard shenanigans to function as a Special wallbreaker. With 100 SpA, all of the goodies in Mewtwo's giant movepool which includes Nasty Plot, and Magic Guard to prevent Life Orb damage, Clefftwo gives the likes of Swalurchin and Toxicargo a massive headche. It also has passable special bulk, so Torrandus has to be careful around it, lest it gets murdered by a TBolt. However, Clefftwo is slow for an offensive Pokemon and its pultry 95/60 physical bulk is not doing it any favors, making it lose to Serpeblim and Vishitomb.

Role Justification: This mon has 150 Attack, which is insane enough to get any use, and with a good enough physical movepool to body Swalurchin, Toxicargo, Togetops, and Claylamar, Mega Clefftwo X certainly is scary, but hopefully not broken. This is because it's still slow, have no boosting options better than Bulk Up, a pretty useless ability, low power on its STABs, and loses hard to Torranadus and Serpeblim. New Ability: Jump Start = (Levitate + Slow Start)
Ability Description: This Pokémon's is immune to Ground-type moves for 5 turns (Essentially uses Magnet Rise on switch-in)
Notable Moves:
Body Slam, Knock Off, U-Turn, Drain Punch, Earthquake, Dragon Tail, Outrage, Quick Attack, Double-Edge
don't use boomburst, it has 65 SpA
Roost, Thunder Wave, Toxic, Defog
Intended Role: Physical Wall, Physical Wallbreaker, Defensive Pivot
Role Justification: Regibrava is a versatile threat. With great 100/100 physical bulk and a nice Dragon/Normal-typing, Regibrava easily takes on Swampflora, unboosted Togetops, and Vishitomb, and can either smack them with a coverage move, cripple them with Toxic or Thunder Wave, or net momentum with U-Turn. Outside of that, Regibrava has 115 Attack and great Normal STAB moves in Quick Attack for priority and Double-Edge for big damage, plus enough coverage like EdgeQuake, Drain Punch, and Knock Off. However, it does lack any good Dragon STAB, as Outrage is risky, Dragon Rush's accuracy is not worth it, and Dragon Tail is a defensive tool, and while 100/80 isn't too shabby, being weak to Ice and Fairy is gonna catch up to it fast.

Ability Description: Effects of both abilities
Notable Moves:
Flip Turn
Ice Beam, Secret Sword, Freeze-Dry, Hydro Pump, Scald, Focus Blast, Shadow Ball
Calm Mind, Spikes, Taunt
Intended Role: Offensive Pivot, Special Wallbreaker
Role Justification: Ice/Fighting is an amazing offensive typing and Deolie uses it to great effect. Ice Beam/Secret Sword/Freeze-Dry hits everything not named Toxicargo, it outspeeds everything but Torranadus and Serpeblim, and it has Calm Mind and Taunt to make it easier for it to rip through the opposition. Plus, having Flip Turn and Spikes is always nice. However, the two things that outspeed it murder it, it can't touch Toxicargo at all, and Swalurchin also annoys it if it's SpDef.

The Mega is obviously banned, but its stats are 85/125/85/145/85/115 with Refrigerate

Intended Role: Special Sweeper, Special Wallbreaker
Role Justification: Nihinette can do Meteor Beam shenanigans with nice Ghost STAB to back it up and coverage for the Water-types it would otherwise struggle with, plus a couple neat options in Trick for Choiced sets and hazards to abuse its spinblocking typing. It'll struggle to get it and does lose to Serpeblim, though.

Intended Role: Physical Wallbreaker, Status Spreader

Notable Moves:
…Knock Off???
…Dark Pulse, Moonblast, Draining Kiss, Fire Blast, Focus Blast, Energy Ball, Thunderbolt, Sludge Bomb
…Nasty Plot, Calm Mind, Taunt, Trick
Intended Role: Stallbreaker, Special Wallbreaker
Role Justification: Status immunity is a huge boon for this, as it helps it manage both the Glarespam the meta is currently dealing with and general Toxic shenanigans from defensive Pokemon. Nasty Plot can bolster its offensive presence, too. Its main flaw is that both Speed tier and bulk leave a lot to be desired. Also note - I list a bunch of coverage, but don't necessarily think it'll all be used. I just don't want any stones unturned in case someone thinks a Pokemon beats this with zero counterplay. Like, for example, if someone makes a prominent Fire/Fairy type but forgets Houndoom learns Sludge Bomb.

Ability Description: If the user's item is removed, they gain +1 Speed.
Notable Moves:
…Knock Off, U-Turn, Icicle Crash, Triple Axel, Brick Break
…lol
…Swords Dance
Intended Role: Offensive Pivot
Role Justification: Pretty big stats, but low base power moves save the unreliable Triple Axel help balance that out. This meta doesn't have any overly fast Pokemon so I felt like adding one of those. STAB Bug encourages U-Turn, although I'd understand if we don't want another fast Boots-reliant pivot and could change this to something else, I just wanted this thing's U-Turns to sting a little bit more. It does discourage Knock Off on some level though thanks to its ability even if this is faster than everything right now.

My 1 Resub (I still don't know if there are any resubbing rules)

:swsh/starmie::swsh/sliggoo:
"Defensive pivot that can setup opportunities for its teams attackers."
DNA Donors: Starmie / Sliggoo
Fusion Name: Starggoo
New Types:

Base Stats: 80 / 75 / 70 / 100 / 110 / 90 [BST: 525] (+16 HP / +0 Atk / +1 Def / +9 SpA / +11 SpD / +3 Spe)
New Ability: Sluggish Retreat = (Natural Cure + Gooey)
Ability Description: When this Pokemon switches out, lowers the Speed stat of adjacent opponents by 1 stage.
Notable Moves:
Flip Turn, Rapid Spin…
Draco Meteor, Ice Beam, Psychic, Psyshock, Scald, Sludge Bomb, Thunderbolt…
Recover, Teleport, Toxic, Trick
Intended Role: Special Wall, Defensive Pivot, Utility
Role Justification: Starggoo's unique defensive typing, statspread, and ability makes it a great defensive mon with access to speed control and reliable recovery. Rapid Spin gives it good Hazard Control, and combined with it's ability to reduce the Speed stats of adjacent opponents you could potentially get a lot of momentum fairly quickly on the switch. Standard moves such as Draco Meteor and Scald are still present with this mon as Staggoo still takes advantage of, and with Recover it can be a great Special Wall as 80 / 70 / 110 bulk is pretty good by FERU standards. Lastly, access to either Flip Turn or Teleport fills its role as a defensive pivot. I would like to note that, again, Sluggish Retreat gives a lot of momentum to it's teams attackers as the lowered speed allows slower attackers to beat out the faster and more powerful hitters and potentially force switches to allow for Set-Up opportunities.

Starggoo's physical bulk is definitely not great, and it's Psychic/Dragon typing while not bad, isn't very spectacular either and leaves it weak to a lot of future potentially frequent types. Starggoo is inherently weak to being revenge killed by faster or simply more powerful physical attackers. It also relies most heavily on it's ability to switch, so moves or abilities that prevent that leave it out on the open where it's prone to getting worn down, which is also it's weakness and is basically bound to happen without reliable recovery. In connection to this, I could say Starggoo's biggest weakness is status, specifically Toxic.

New Subs

:swsh/krookodile::swsh/altaria:
"Excellent defensive pivot with a great defensive typing and nice utility."
DNA Donors: Krookodile / Altaria
Fusion Name: Altaridile
New Types:

Base Stats: 100 / 93 / 87 / 67 / 101 / 95 [BST: 503] (+15 HP / +0 Atk / +2 Def / +0 SpA / +14 SpD / +9 Spe)
New Ability: Fierce Retreat = (Intimidate + Natural Cure)
Ability Description: When this Pokemon switches out, lowers the attack of adjacent opponents by 1 stage.
Notable Moves:
Dual Wingbeat, Earthquake, Foul Play, Knock Off

Defog, Dragon Dance, Roost, Haze, Stealth Rock, Toxic…
Intended Role: Defensive Pivot, Utility (Defog/Roost/Haze), Hazard Setter
Role Justification: Altaridile's ability makes it a great pivot, it works like a reverse intimidate which allows it's teammates to switch-in safely on physical threats. It plays similarly to how Mandibuzz usually plays with matchups that take advantage of it's unique typing to check Ghost types, Steel types, and high bulk to check Grass types, all of which were present as of Slate 1. Altaridile has moves that threaten all of these mons, STAB Knock Off, Earthquake for Steels, and Dual Wingbeat for Grass types. As mentioned before, Altaridile has a really nice STAB tech option with Knock Off to cripple walls, and it has access to excellent set-up in the form of Dragon Dance which allows it to potentially become a good sweeper. Lastly, it has access to good support options like Defog and Haze, hazard setting with Stealth Rock, and reliable recovery with Roost which aids in longevity.

Alratidile's biggest weakness is the fact that it lacks any sort of any actual stat spread. What I mean by this is that Altaridile's statspread seem to suggest a "Jack of all trades, master of none" scenario, where every single stat is reasonably around the same level with only 1 or 2 high stats. In this case, SpD is the only stat to breach the 100s. This makes Altaridile pretty decent in a lot of areas, but might end up underperforming in comparison to a mon who is more specialized in their field. Another thing to note is that Altaridile isn't that strong. After a Dragon Dance it might become a bit threatening for a sweep, but it still lacks that immediate power or that raw set up in the form of something like Swords Dance to truly threaten some of the potentially more bulky threats. Lastly, it lacks any sort of pivoting move like U-Turn, which would have been a powerful combo for chip and would also potentially allow it to gain momentum in conjunction with it's ability.

Mega is banned, so this next sub is good to go.

New Ability: Fairy Rush = (Pixilate + Sand Rush)
Ability Description: Combined effects.
Notable Moves:
Body Slam, Earthquake, Knock Off, Rapid Spin, Stone Edge…

Spikes, Stealth Rock, Swords Dance
Intended Role: Hazard Removal, Hazard Setter, Set-Up Sweeper, Physical Wallbreaker
Role Justification: With an excellent offensive typing, great coverage options, and nice utility, this mon makes use of its unique traits be a powerful physical attacker with some nice usage outside of it. It can use Spikes or Stealth Rock for hazard setting, but it's main set will make use of Swords Dance and/or Rapid Spin to gain plenty of momentum and to also act as a way of removing hazards (resisting SR also helps). Knock Off is universally helpful, and Stone Edge exists as the best coverage option to hit Flying types with tricky defensive types, like Fire/Flying or Steel/Flying. It could also work as a great sand abuser for a future sand setter.

The biggest problem with Sandveon is that is lacks most stats and is prone to getting revenge killed. 82 Spd is a great speed tier after a Rapid Spin boost, but it will predictably fail to outspeed most future mons at base which will leave it prone with it's only average defenses. It's base Atk is also nothing outstanding; 90 Atk is still good combined with it's great STAB combo and access to Swords Dance, but at base it'll struggle to KO any of the more bulky threats and gets completely walled by certain type combinations like Steel/Flying that can only be hit by Stone Edge that is unboosted, non-STAB, and off of only 90 Atk.

New Ability: Emergency Heal = (Emergency Exit + Regenerator)
Ability Description: Emergency Exit effects; Can only be healed from Regenerator not caused when Emergency Exit activates.
Notable Moves:
Knock Off, Leech Life, Poison Jab…
Clear Smog, Giga Drain, Sludge Bomb
Spikes, Spore, Synthesis, Taunt, Toxic
Intended Role: Physical Wall, Defensive Pivot, Hazards, Stallbreaker
Role Justification: Bulky physical wall with an excellent ability and some very nice utility to it's name. It has access to stuff like Spore, Spikes for setting hazards, Knock Off to cripple other walls, and Toxic for status spreading which aids in it's walling capabilities. It's defensive typing is also nothing to scoff at either (Bug/Poison surprisingly competent) and it can use this typing to absorb Toxic Spikes and absorb Toxic itself (god forbid this thing was Water/Poison). The main draw to this mon though is it's ability. With Emergency Heal, it can recover HP like Regenerator but can also be used as an excellent defensive pivot when it's HP is low, safely allowing it's teammates to come in and gain plenty of momentum. Golisoguss also becomes better as a defensive wall with this ability, as it can be used to wall more offensive mons and can purposefully tank a hit in hopes to pivot into a teammate for free.

Cons being the fact that it's lackluster offensive typing leaves it susceptible to be walled, a good but not fantastic defensive typing, reliant on it's ability for the main bulk of it's HP regen (you aren't fitting Synthesis into your moveset 9 times out of 10), and being prone to Taunt.

New Ability: Grassy Current = (Galvanize + Overgrow)
Ability Description: Combined effects.
Notable Moves:
Body Slam, Earthquake, Explosion, Leaf Blade, Quick Attack
Volt Switch…
Dragon Dance, Stealth Rock, Swords Dance
Intended Role: Set- Up Sweeper, Hazard Setter, Suicide Lead, Revengekiller, Offensive Pivot
Role Justification: Electric/Grass typing as a favorable offensive and defensive type as well as Galvanize. Galvanize gives it great offensive presence with Quick Attack STAB as a good option for revenge killing and Body Slam for that raw power. Leaf Blade is it's best STAB Grass type move and it has good coverage to complement it's STABs in the form of Earthquake. Dragon Dance is a viable set up option that turns it into a dangerous offensive mon, while Swords Dance exists if you wish for it to use Quick Attack as a revenge killer or use this mon as a suicide lead combined with Galvanize and Explosion. Lastly, Volt Switch is good for pivoting since it's secondary Grass type fits well to check Electric type immune Ground types, and Stealth Rock for Hazard Setting.
