[OVERVIEW]

Galarian Ponyta is a good special attacker because of its Psychic typing and good coverage options such as Mystical Fire and Dazzling Gleam, allowing it to threaten Mareanie, Ferroseed, and Vullaby, and a good Speed stat allows it to outspeed Galarian Farfetch'd and Speed tie with Wingull. It can also use Calm Mind to boost its Special Attack stat and turn into a dangerous sweeper, while a set with Life Orb and three attacks makes it a threatening special attacker right off the bat that takes care of common threats to it such as Vullaby after Stealth Rock damage. However, Galarian Ponyta struggles with taking physical attacks because of its low Defense stat and is weak to Knock Off users that can take an attack from it, such as Corphish, Krabby, and Vullaby. Galarian Ponyta has additional problems with Diglett and Trapinch trapping and OHKOing it due to its low Defense stat. It also struggles with Pawniard, as Sucker Punch OHKOes it.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Calm Mind allows Galarian Ponyta to be a fearsome mid- to late-game sweeper once its checks like Diglett and Pawniard are gone. Dazzling Gleam enables Galarian Ponyta to hit its checks such as Vullaby super effectively. Morning Sun allows Galarian Ponyta to keep itself healthy while setting up with Calm Mind. Protect is mainly used to avoid getting OHKOed by Trapinch's First Impression, but it can also serve as a way to play mind games with Sucker Punch users such as Pawniard. Psychic allows Galarian Ponyta to do major damage to Mareanie and Galarian Farfetch'd. Mystical Fire makes Galarian Ponyta able to OHKO Steel-types such as Ferroseed as well as 2HKO Pawniard, though it will raise Pawniard's Attack stat if it survives the attack.

Set Details
========

Pastel Veil is used to avoid getting poisoned by Toxic Spikes and Sludge Bomb from Oddish and Mareanie. Running 196 Speed EVs and a Timid nature allows Galarian Ponyta to Speed tie with Wingull and outspeed Pokemon such as Onix and Galarian Farfetch'd. Life Orb can be used over Eviolite to net OHKOs on Vullaby and Trapinch after Stealth Rock damage; however, Eviolite is the preferred item so Galarian Ponyta can set up with Calm Mind more easily and take an attack from Wingull, which it could not do with Life Orb.

Usage Tips
========

Make sure that Diglett and Trapinch are KOed before trying to sweep, as these two can trap Galarian Ponyta and OHKO it with Earthquake or, in the latter's case, First Impression if Galarian Ponyta is not running Protect. Use Protect to avoid being OHKOed by Trapinch's First Impression and play mind games with Pawniard's Sucker Punch. Galarian Ponyta should try to set up mid- to late-game to sweep once threats such as Pawniard, Frillish, and Vullaby are gone. It can also set up on Pokemon that do not threaten it like Mareanie and Oddish. Be careful around priority users such as Pawniard and Corphish, as these will either heavily chip or OHKO Galarian Ponyta. Avoid taking physical attacks from Pokemon such as Onix due to Galarian Ponyta's poor Defense stat.

Team Options
========

Galarian Ponyta struggles with Munchlax, which is able to tank its attacks while taking care of it with Double-Edge, so Fighting-types like Timburr and Galarian Farfetch'd are good partners. Stealth Rock and Spikes setters like Onix and Ferroseed can set down entry hazards for Galarian Ponyta to make it easier to sweep late-game. Galarian Ponyta also appreciates having Stealth Rock up to help wear down Vullaby. Mudbray can also be used for its ability to take care of Pawniard and Onix while also setting up Stealth Rock. Galarian Ponyta struggles against Pawniard and Vullaby, so Pokemon such as Trapinch and Spritzee make great partners, as Trapinch can take care of Pawniard, while Spritzee can take care of Vullaby. Galarian Ponyta also struggles against Frillish, so having a Dark-type such as Pawniard is great to take care of it. Finally, Galarian Ponyta loves Sticky Web support from Dewpider to make it easier to set up and outpace Pokemon that it usually cannot such as Diglett.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

A mixed set with Double Kick, Psychic, Mystical Fire / Dazzling Gleam, and Protect allows Galarian Ponyta to OHKO Pawniard and put a major dent in Munchlax with Double Kick; however, Galarian Ponyta will have to give up either the ability to hit Steel-types or Vullaby super effectively. A physical set with Play Rough, Wild Charge / Protect / Morning Sun, Low Kick, and Zen Headbutt can be used to do major damage to Munchlax and hit Water-types such as Krabby and Corphish super effectively. However, Galarian Ponyta attacks would hit less hard, and Play Rough would activate Vullaby's Weak Armor, which forces Galarian Ponyta out.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Dark-types**: Pawniard and Vullaby are able to threaten Galarian Ponyta with Sucker Punch or Knock Off and outspeed it if they're using a Choice Scarf. However, Pawniard and Vullaby will have to scout what moves it is running, as Mystical Fire and Dazzling Gleam can take care of them.

**Ghost-types**: Frillish gives Galarian Ponyta a problem because of its bulk, allowing it to take attacks from Galarian Ponyta and use Will-O-Wisp + Hex to take care of it.

**Arena Trap**: Arena Trap users like Diglett and Trapinch give Galarian Ponyta trouble, as they can take care of it with Sucker Punch, Earthquake, or First Impression.

**Munchlax**: Munchlax is able to tank any of Galarian Ponyta's attacks and take care of it with Double-Edge.

I think Protect is a very good option instead of Morning Sun so that Galarian Ponyta doesn't get auto trapped by Trapinch. Being able to bait out the First Impression is super helpful and basically gives Galarian Ponyta more turns to tear through enemy teams. In fact, I would make Protect the first slash just because it helps its longevity much more than Morning Sun does imo.

Would suggest rephrasing "Psychic is Galarian Ponyta's main attack to use for neutral damage and can also take care of Poison-type Pokemon like Croagunk and Mareanie." to instead talk about how Psychic allows Galarian Ponyta to do significant damage to Mareanie and Galarian Farfetch'd even before setting up.

Instead of saying that Ponyta outspeeds Chou with 19 speed, say it can tie Wingull. This doesn't instead ask the question of why not 18 speed (since that also outspeeds the 17 speed Chou).

Your first sentence about Steel-type hazard setters that appreciate Ponyta's support in fighting their own checks is unclear, took several reads to realize what you were saying, would suggest rewriting that.

Add a credits section, format is below.

Just an amateur check, implement what you want.

- I'm not sure if this set was specifically approved as a Calm Mind sweeper set, but I think it might be more accurate to Ponyta's current usage to slash Calm Mind as an option and lead with the attacks. I think Calm Mind is more of an option for Ponyta's usage rather than a requirement, and in the case that the Calm Mind set is more important, I still think the three-attack Ponyta variants are not different enough from this set to warrant a different analysis.

- As Yoshi said, Protect should be slashed as an option over Morning Sun, Calm Mind, or both. It prevents Ponyta from being revenge killed by Trapinch effectively and is commonly used.

- Dazzling Gleam deserves a mention, likely slashed with Calm Mind or Morning Sun. Ponytas run it to deal with Vullaby.

- Life Orb should be slashed with Eviolite. One relevant calc here:

236 SpA Ponyta-Galar Mystical Fire vs. 84 HP / 228 SpD Eviolite Ferroseed: 16-20 (72.7 - 90.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Possible damage amounts: (16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 20)

236 SpA Life Orb Ponyta-Galar Mystical Fire vs. 84 HP / 228 SpD Eviolite Ferroseed: 21-26 (95.4 - 118.1%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO
Possible damage amounts: (21, 21, 21, 21, 21, 21, 21, 21, 21, 21, 21, 21, 21, 21, 21, 26)

- "Mystical Fire allows Ponyta to have a way to hit Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Cufant." I would rewrite this sentence as "Mystical Fire allows Ponyta to damage Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Cufant." Pawniard is also worth a mention here, as it is more relevant than Cufant, though should you decide to mention Pawniard, you should note that Mystical Fire will always trigger Defiant and sharply raise Pawniard's attack should it survive the hit.

- If you don't change the Mystical Fire sentence, I would at least use a different verb in place of "allows" in the Psychic sentence in order to minimize repetition.

- I think the mentions of Psychic and the EV spread might be unnecessary due to how intuitive these things are, but I'll defer to QC members on that point.

- I'm not sure why Stealth Rock setters appreciate the removal of Mareanie, specifically; I think this point could be clearer. You could instead make the point that Fighting-types appreciate Ponyta as a teammate because it can switch into and beat Mareanie for them, while they in turn deal with Pawniard and Munchlax.

- I also think that this sentence is a little muddled in regards to why Ponyta helps these SR setters; the mention of Farfetch'd seems to lean more toward Ponyta dealing effectively with Fighting-types, though it cannot safely switch into non-Choice-locked Farfetch'd anyway. The Timburr mention is good because Ponyta can definitely switch in and prevent Timburr for defogging or punish it for doing so.

- Munchlax deserves a mention in the counters section as it deals with Ponyta far more reliably than even Pawniard or Vullaby.

Hope this helps!

I agree with both Yoshi and KSG's AM checks, go ahead and implement everything from those I'll look at it after that

I’m curious as to why there is no mention of using a physical attacking set. G-Ponyta’s base attack is higher than its sp attack. Plus with Wild Charge or High Horsepower it has a way to deal with Vullaby and steel types. Stick a scarf on it and it outspeeds most of the Tier unboosted.

Or is the Calm Mind set just that superior?

Calm Mind is Ponyta-Galar's only attack-boosting move, and the thing is, 18 Atk Zen Headbutt deals about nearly same damage as 16 SpA Psychic against pokemon with same Defense and Special Defense stat.

236 Atk Ponyta-Galar Zen Headbutt vs. 196 HP / 100 Def Eviolite Mareanie: 14-20 (58.3 - 83.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Possible damage amounts: (14, 18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 20)

236 SpA Ponyta-Galar Psychic vs. 196 HP / 100+ SpD Eviolite Mareanie: 14-20 (58.3 - 83.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Possible damage amounts: (14, 18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 20)
(Even with factoring Life Orb, they deals just about same damage anyway.)

Special attacking set benefits from heavily damaging Ferroseed more than physical set and prevents Vullaby's Weak Armor from triggering.
Also, Scarf Ponyta is so bad. The only pokemon that can naturally outsped Ponyta-Galar is Diglett.

Set Description
========
  • Split your moves and set description sections - see the analysis template for how to do this
  • When you talk about "if Pawniard lives the attack," you should say somewhere how likely this is (eg. Mystical Fire allows Ponyta to 2HKO Pawniard, but raises Pawniard's attack) or something
  • "Toxic" isn't a status condition - just say poisoned
Usage Tips
========
  • Remove the first point - its hard to wear down Pawn in this way, especially because you have to let a teammate get Knocked every time with this strategy
  • Remove the Knock Off point (it amounts to "dont take super effective attacks")
  • Talk about making sure Dig and Trap are KOed before trying to sweep
  • Talk about when to use Protect
  • Talk about avoiding physical attacks when possible since G-pony is pretty frail
Team Options
========
  • Remove the floon mention
  • Here is the order that these points should be in:
    • Fighting-types
    • SR/Spikes (and add that Pony appreciates SR support to beat Vullaby)
    • Mudbray
    • Trapinch/Spritzee
    • Pawniard
    • Cutiefly

Stealth Rock and Spikes setters like Pawniard and Ferroseed can set down Stealth Rock or Spikes for Galarian Ponyta to make it easier to sweep late game.
You mention Pawniard as a partner later in this, probably replace it with something like Onix

[OVERVIEW]

Galarian Ponyta is a good Special special attacker because of its Psychic typing(RH) and good coverage options such as Mystical Fire and Dazzling Gleam,(AC) allowing it to threaten Mareanie, Ferroseed and Vullaby. It also has a good Speed stat that allows it to outpace Galarian Farfetch'd and speed Speed tie with Wingull. It also can use Calm Mind to boost its Special Attack stat to turn into a dangerous sweeper,(full stop -> comma) Galarian Ponyta can also use as well as a Life Orb + 3 Attacks attacks set in order to be a threatening Special Attacker special attacker right off the bat to take care of common threats to it such as Vullaby after Stealth Rock damage. However, Galarian Ponyta struggles with taking physical attacks because of its low Defense stat and is weak to Knock Off users that can take an attack from it like Corphish, Krabby,(AC) and Vullaby. Galarian Ponyta also has problems with Diglett and Trapinch trap by them trapping and OHKOing it due to its low Defense stat. It also struggles with Pawniard,(AC) as Sucker Punch OHKOes Galarian Ponyta it.

Psychic allows Galarian Ponyta to do major damage to Mareanie and Galarian Farfetch'd. Mystical Fire makes Galarian Ponyta able to OHKO Steel-types such as Ferroseed and 2HKO Pawniard, but it will raise Pawniard's Attack stat if it lives the attack.

Set Details
========

Pastel Veil is used to avoid getting poisoned by Toxic Spikes or Sludge Bomb from switching it in on Oddish Mareanie and Mareanie Oddish. Running 196 Speed EVs and a Timid nature allows Galarian Ponyta to Speed tie with Wingull and outpace Pokemon such as Onix and Galarian Farfetch'd. Life Orb can be used over Eviolite to net OHKOs on Vullaby and Trapinch after Stealth Rock damage; however,(AC) Eviolite is the preferred item for it to be able to set up with Calm Mind easier more easily and take an attack from Wingull,(AC) that which it could not from do with Life Orb.

Usage Tips
========

Make sure that Diglett and Trapinch are KOed before trying to sweep, as these two can trap Galarian Ponyta and OHKO it with Earthquake,(AC) or in the latter's case if not running Protect with First Impression if it's not running Protect (I felt like this should've been more specific, as you made it seem like Diglett can also use First Impression). Use Protect to avoid being OHKOed by Trapinch's First Impression and play mindgames with Pawniard's Sucker Punch. Galarian Ponyta should try to setup set up mid- to late-game once threats such as Pawniard, Frillish and Vullaby is are gone to sweep the opposing team. It can also setup set up on Pokemon that does do not threaten Galarian Ponyta it like Mareanie and Oddish. Be careful around priority users such as Pawniard and Corphish,(AC) as these will either greatly heavily (more appropriate) chip or OHKO Galarian Ponyta. Avoid taking physical attacks from Pokemon such as Onix,(AC) because Galarian Ponyta cannot take these attacks well due to its poor Physical Defense stat.

Team Options
========

Galarian Ponyta struggles with Munchlax,(AC) because of it being able to tank Galarian Ponyta's attacks while being able to take care of it with Double-Edge, so Fighting-types like Timburr and Galarian Farfetch'd can take care of handle it (I changed this because I felt it was redundant). Stealth Rock and Spikes setters like Onix and Ferroseed can set down Stealth Rock or Spikes for Galarian Ponyta to make it easier to sweep late-game(AH). Galarian Ponyta also appreciates having Stealth Rock up to help wear down Vullaby. Mudbray can also be used for its ability to take care of Pawniard and Onix while also setting up Stealth Rock. Galarian Ponyta struggles against Pawniard and Vullaby, so Pokemon such as Trapinch and Spritzee make great partners,(AC) for Galarian Ponyta as Trapinch can take care of Pawniard,(AC) while Spritzee can take care of Vullaby. Galarian Ponyta also struggles against Frillish, so having a Dark-type such as Pawniard is great to pair with it to take care of it. Galarian Ponyta loves the webs Sticky Web support from Dewpider to make it easier to set up and outpace Pokemon that it usually cannot such as Diglett.

A Mixed mixed set with Double Kick, Psychic, Mystical Fire / Dazzling Gleam and Protect allows it to OHKO Pawniard and put a major dent on Munchlax with Double Kick; However, Galarian Ponyta will have to give up either the ability to hit Steel-types or Vullaby super effectively. A Physical physical set with Play Rough, Wild Charge / Protect / Morning Sun, Low Kick and Zen Headbutt can be used to do major damage to Munchlax while being able to hit Water-types such as Krabby and Corphish super effectively. However, now Galarian Ponyta attacks will would hit less hard,(RC) and Play Rough will now would activate Weak Armor from Vullaby's Weak Armor, which forces Galarian Ponyta out.

Checks and Counters

**Dark-types**: Pawniard and Vullaby are able to threaten Galarian Ponyta with Sucker Punch, Knock Off or with being if they're using a Choice Scarf. However, Pawniard and Vullaby will have to scout what moves it is running,(AC) as Mystical Fire and Dazzling Gleam can take care of these.

**Ghost-types**: Frillish gives Galarian Ponyta a problem because of its bulk,(AC) allowing it to live attacks from Galarian Ponyta and use Will-O-Wisp + Hex to take care of it.

**Arena Trap**: Pokemon that has the ability Arena Trap users like Diglett and Trapinch give Galarian Ponyta trouble,(AC) as they can take care of it with Sucker Punch, Earthquake or First Impression.

However, Galarian Ponyta's attacks would hit less hard, (AC) and Play Rough would now activate Vullaby's Weak Armor, which forces Galarian Ponyta out.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Dark-types**: Pawniard and Vullaby are able to threaten Galarian Ponyta with Sucker Punch, Knock Off, (AC) or if they're using a Choice Scarf. However, Pawniard and Vullaby will have to scout what moves it is running, as Mystical Fire and Dazzling Gleam can take care of these them.

**Ghost-types**: Frillish gives Galarian Ponyta a problem because of its bulk, allowing it to live attacks from Galarian Ponyta and use Will-O-Wisp + Hex to take care of it.

**Arena Trap**: Arena Trap users like Diglett and Trapinch give Galarian Ponyta trouble, as they can take care of it with Sucker Punch, Earthquake, (AC) or First Impression.

**Munchlax**: Munchlax is able to tank any of Galarian Ponyta's attacks and take care of it with Double-Edge.

[OVERVIEW]

Galarian Ponyta is a good special attacker because of its Psychic typing and good coverage options such as Mystical Fire and Dazzling Gleam, allowing it to threaten Mareanie, Ferroseed, and Vullaby, (comma) and It also has a good Speed stat that allows it to outspeed Galarian Farfetch'd and Speed tie with Wingull. It also can also use Calm Mind to boost its Special Attack stat and turn into a dangerous sweeper, and it can opt to use while a set with Life Orb and three attacks in order to be makes it a threatening special attacker right off the bat to take that takes care of common threats to it such as Vullaby after Stealth Rock damage.

Moves
========

Mystical Fire makes Galarian Ponyta able to OHKO Steel-types such as Ferroseed as well as 2HKO Pawniard, but though it will raise Pawniard's Attack stat if it lives survives the attack.

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

Avoid taking physical attacks from Pokemon such as Onix because Galarian Ponyta cannot take these attacks well due to its Galarian Ponyta's poor Defense stat.

Team Options
========

Galarian Ponyta struggles with Munchlax, being which is able to tank Galarian Ponyta's its attacks while taking care of it with Double-Edge, so Fighting-types like Timburr and Galarian Farfetch'd can handle for Galarian Ponyta are good partners.
