[OVERVIEW]

Garchomp comes with a great stat spread; most importantly, its base 102 Speed which allows it to run multiple sets, outspeed and defeat top-tier threats such as Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y and Mega Gardevoir. Its high Attack stat and solid offensive typing lets it KO a lot of Pokemon such as Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Aegislash, Magearna, and Mega Venusaur. Its power can be further upgraded with Choice Band and Z-Crystals. It has a great movepool with reliable STAB moves in Outrage and Earthquake, Poison Jab to strike Fairy-types like Mega Gardevoir, and Fire Fang and Fire Blast to KO the Pokemon, mostly Steel-types, that are weak to Fire and aren't hit super effectively by Earthquake and Outrage such as Kartana and Ferrothorn. Rough Skin offers chip damage that helps it in defeating F.E.A.R. Aron. Garchomp's great offensive typing lets it defeat the ever-so-common Fire-, Steel-, and Dragon-type Pokemon such as Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Magearna, Zygarde-C, Aegislash, and Kommo-o. With an immunity to Electric, key resistances to Fire- and Rock-type moves, which are used by powerful attackers such as Mega Charizard Y and Crustle, and above-average bulk, Garchomp is capable of surviving some powerful non-super effective attacks like Pin Missile from Mega Heracross. Garchomp also has a mega evolution which turns it into a bulky powerhouse which can defeat a lot of Pokemon that threaten its regular forme such as Electrium Z Magnezone, Donphan, and bulky Primarina. Garchomp's ability to run multiple sets with success makes it hard to predict. However, its 4x weakness to Ice makes it vulnerable to Ice-type attacks carried by common threats such as Porygon-Z, Genesect, Mega Gyarados, and Greninja. Its typing also leaves it weak to Fairy-type Pokemon of whose advantage can be taken by bulky Fairy-type Pokemon like Tapu Lele, Tapu Fini, and Mega Altaria. It is left outsped by some hard-hitters like Mega Pinsir and Mega Lucario which can one-shot regular Garchomp. Although it can defeat some Dragon-type Pokemon such as non Choice Scarf Haxorus and Zygarde with Choice Band and Dragonium Z, it loses to Dragonite, and Naganadel. The former can survive a hit and OHKO back while the latter outspeeds and OHKOs.

Swords Dance increases Garchomp's Attack which makes Tectonic Rage even more powerful which can be used against Mega Venusaur, and Chansey to power up its moves before attacking. Earthquake as the Ground-type STAB lets it defeat Aegislash, non Reversal Blaziken, and Excadrill. With Tectonic Rage, Garchomp can also defeat Defensive Mega Metagross as well as the faster variant without Ice Punch, Mega Mawile, Magearna, and Curse Mega Aggron. Rock Tomb as a speed control move lets it defeat Mega Charizard X if it doesn't mega evolve in order to avoid super effective Dragon- or Ground-Type damage. Substitute helps in scouting for moves, blocking status moves like Sleep Powder, Charm, from Mega Venusaur, and Chansey respectively, taking Z-Moves like Tectonic Rage from Landorus-T, rechargeable moves from Mega Blastoise and Meloetta, and in blocking Counter from Sawk, Crustle, and Chansey.

Groundium Z upgrades Earthquake's power into a devastating 180 Base Powered Tectonic Rage. Rough Skin as the ability provides chip damage against contact move attackers.

Usage Tips
========
With Groundium Z, Garchomp can be sent against Pokemon like Mega Charizard X, Mega Venusaur, Magearna, Mega Gardevoir, non Choice Specs Tapu Fini, and Curse Mega Aggron. Garchomp is vulnerable to Sturdy Pokemon like Donphan, Pokemon with Ice-type Attacks such as Porygon-Z and Greninja and some of the faster Pokemon like Mega Lopunny, so avoid sending it against them. Against Charizard, start with Substitute to block Counter and scout for the mega evolution forme, avoiding potentially lose against Mega Charizard X if you use the wrong attack against the wrong form. Mega Charizard can be KOed with Rock Tomb. If it turns out to be offensive Mega Charizard X and it mega evolves then KO it with Tectonic Rage. If they do not mega evolve and Dragon Dance, use Rock Tomb until they break Garchomp's Substitute and then finish them off with Tectonic Rage. Substitute should be mostly used in conjunction to Substitute for additional safety from status moves.

Powerful Special Attackers can help Garchomp with physically bulky Pokemon such as Mega Slowbro and Mega Gyarados; for example, bulky Mega Charizard Y with Flame Charge; in addition to these it also checks Choice Scarf Porygon-Z, Tapu Lele, Tapu Fini, and Greninja which threaten Garchomp. Garchomp in return checks Meloetta, Chansey, and Crustle for supporting Mega Charizard Y. Curse Mega Aggron is a great team option for Garchomp as it can defeat Tapu Lele, Offensive Mega Metagross with Ice Punch, Mega Altaria, Greninja, Mega Lopunny, Mega Mawile, and some Sturdy Pokemon like Golem and Donphan. Sturdy and Fairy-types also trouble Garchomp; Fairium Z Magearna defeats Mega Gyarados, Tapu Lele, Mega Altaria, Porygon-Z and Sturdy Pokemon like Donphan and Golem, turning out to be another great partner for Garchomp. Outrage is a powerful Dragon-type STAB which hits Dragon and the non-resisted types with massive damage. With Devastating Drake, Garchomp can defeat the likes of bulky versions of both Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y, non-bulk invested Dragonite, Zygarde-C, Kommo-o, and Landorus-T. Rock Tomb can be used as a speed control move lets it defeat Mega Charizard X more reliably. Fire Blast provides Garchomp Fire-type coverage to defeat Durant, Non-Choice Scarf Excadrill, Kartana, Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor and gives it a chance of defeating Electrium Z Magnezone. Earthquake can help Garchomp beat Aegislash and Excadrill. If they do not mega evolve and Dragon Dance, use Rock Tomb until they break Garchomp's Substitute and then finish them off with Devastating Drake. Substitute should be mostly used in conjunction to Substitute for additional safety from status moves. When matched up against Donphan, always start with Fire Blast as getting a burn to survive a Tectonic Rage or blocking Counter is the best option for Garchomp to win and follow up with Devastating Drake.

Outrage is Garchomp's most powerful STAB move and hits all the Dragon-types such as Mega Charizard X, Zygarde-C, and Kommo-o super effectively and deals massive damage to Pokemon that do not resist it. It also has a minimal opportunity cost as in most battles, Garchomp won't get confused. Earthquake hits Steel-, Poison-, Electric-, and Rock-types super effectively and other types that resist Outrage neutrally, allowing it to KO Pokemon like bulky Mega Metagross, Excadrill, and Blaziken. Poison Jab hits Fairy- and Grass-types super effectively, letting Garchomp KO Whimsicott, Tapu Bulu, and Mega Gardevoir. Fire Fang lets it KO other Steel-types that are not hit super effectively by Earthquake such as Ferrothorn, Celesteela, Mega Scizor, and Kartana. It also comes with a 10% chance to burn and/or flinch the target, which might prove to be useful against F.E.A.R. Pokemon that use Toxic stall such as level 2 Probopass. Stone Edge can be used over Fire Fang to hit Mega Charizard X. It also gives Garchomp EdgeQuake coverage, which few Pokemon resist. Stone Edge can also be used against predicted bulky Mega Charizard X that may not decide to mega evolve, it also OHKOes offensive Mega Charizard X regardles of the mega evolution decision.

252 Speed EVs with a Jolly nature let Garchomp outspeed as many Pokemon as possible, which includes non-Choice Scarfed base 100 and below Speed Pokemon such as Charizard, Landorus, Mega Gardevoir, and non-Choice Scarf Genesect. 252 Attack EVs with Choice Band allow it to hit as hard as possible letting it KO bulky Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Magearna, Aegislash, and Kartana. Rough Skin is the ability of choice to hurt physical attackers that use contact moves which makes Earthquake a guaranteed OHKO against Defensive Mega Metagross.

Usage Tips
========
It's best to send Garchomp in if the opponent has Pokemon that are outsped by it and are not bulky enough to wall its attacks. This includes a huge portion of the metagame, as its base 102 Speed and high Attack combined with Choice Band lets it OHKO common threats like Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Landorus, and Magearna. Garchomp should use Outrage against most foes barring if they resist it or Garchomp has other coverage moves that deal super effective damage. Avoid sending it against Donphan, Magnezone, Mega Slowbro, and Mega Aggron, as they are able to take its attacks and in return either wear it down or retaliate with their own attacks. Use Fire Fang over Outrage when facing Crustle, as the opponent may predict Garchomp to use Outrage and OHKO Garchomp with Counter. Fire Fang along with Rough Skin damage from Counter, makes it a reliable 3HKO.

Team Options
========
Powerful special wallbreakers like Choice Specs Porygon-Z or Choice Specs Greninja are great teammates for Garchomp, as they can defeat physically defensive Pokemon like Mega Slowbro and Mega Blastoise, which Garchomp struggles against. Choice Scarf Porygon-Z can also check Mega Lopunny and Jumpluff for Garchomp. Pokemon that are able to defeat the highly used Mega Gyarados such as bulky Mega Charizard Y, and Mega Venusaur are necessary and pair up well with Garchomp, as Mega Gyarados is able to KO it with Outrage. Mega Gyarados itself emerges as another great teammate for Garchomp, as it is capable of defeating Sturdy Pokemon and other Pokemon that Garchomp is not able to defeat like Mega Aggron, Dragonite, and Donphan. Garchomp has great synergy with Mega Venusaur, since Mega Venusaur beats Mega Gyarados, Donphan, Magnezone, Mega Altaria, and Mega Slowbro, which defeat Garchomp, while Garchomp can check the Pokemon that defeat Mega Venusaur such as Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Pinsir, and Mega Metagross. Aegislash and Genesect can be paired with Garchomp to scare off the abundant Fairy-types such as bulky Mega Mawile, Mega Altaria, and Choice Scarf Tapu Lele, which can be problematic for Garchomp. Arm Thrust Mega Heracross can defeat Mega Gyarados, Mega Slowbro, and all Sturdy Pokemon, which Garchomp appreciates, making it a reliable team member.

Outrage as the Dragon-type STAB hits Pokemon such as Mega Charizard X, Porygon-Z, and Mega Heracross. Earthquake is its Ground-type STAB lets it defeat Mega Metagross without Ice Punch, Magnezone, bulky Primarina, Blaziken, and Mega Tyranitar, and bulky Mega Mawile. Rock Tomb provides it Rock-type coverage and acts as a speed control move to slow down Pokemon like Charizard, Landorus, Mega Pinsir, Heatran, Sawk, and Mega Diancie before KOing them with its STABs. Thanks to its decent Special Attack Surf can be used, albeit of having a Special Attack reducing nature, to avoid getting hit by Counter and 2HKO Donphan and Golem. Swords Dance can be used over Surf in the Mega Garchomp set to defeat Zygarde-C and certain bulky Flynium Z Dragonite sets at the cost of making the matchup against Sturdy Pokemon with Counter like Golem and Donphan prediction reliant.

Set Details
========
248 HP investment increases Mega Garchomp's overall bulk. 176 Defense EVs along with the HP investment and an Impish nature allow Mega Garchomp to survive some of the most potent moves in 1v1 including Outrage from Jolly Mega Charizard X, Tectonic Rage and Ice Shard from Donphan, Tectonic Rage from Landorus-T at +1 Attack, 200 BP Flail from Mega Pinsir, 200 BP Reversal from Mega Lucario, and Meteor Mash twice from Mega Metagross. 80 SpD along with the HP investment ensure that Mega Garchomp survives a combination of Never Ending Nightmare and Shadow Sneak from Aegislash, Hydro Vortex and Aqua Jet from Primarina; Hidden Power Ice from Magnezone, and a combination of Rock Tomb from Diancie and Moonblast from Mega Diancie. 4 Speed EVs help Mega Garchomp in outspeeding Landorus after a Rock Tomb. Rough Skin as the pre-Mega Evolution provides chip damage to attackers with contact moves which can be useful against Fake Out users like Mega Lopunny, Mega Medicham, and Hitmonlee. Sand Force increases Earthquake's Base Power to 120 in Sandstorm which helps it defeat Mega Tyranitar.

Usage Tips
========
Mega Garchomp boasts immense bulk and its advantage can be used in the Team Preview to send it against all Sturdy Pokemon, Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Lucario, Blaziken, and Magnezone. With the added bulk, it can defeat them but due to comparatively less power it trades away victory against bulky Pokemon. Avoid sending it against Greninja, Tapu Lele, and bulky Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Zygarde-C, Chansey, and Mega Slowbro. Mega Garchomp counters Mega Charizard Y, so always play assuming that the opposing variant of Charizard is Mega Charizard X. If you predict Mega Charizard X to not mega evolve and use Dragon Dance or mega evolve and use Outrage, then use Rock Tomb and follow it up by Outrage while if you predict Mega Charizard X to mega evolve and use Dragon Dance, then go for Outrage.

Team Options
========
Terrakion can help Mega Garchomp by checking Porygon-Z, Kyurem, and Chansey. The duo of Garchomp and Terrakion scare off Charizard and lure in Sturdy Pokemon from the Team Preview which can be defeated by Mega Garchomp. Choice Specs Greninja can be paired to defeat Zygarde-C, Dragonite, Mega Altaria, Jumpluff, and Nagandel which threaten Mega Garchomp while in return Mega Garchomp can check Mega Charizard Y, Sturdy Pokemon like Golem and Magnezone for supporting Greninja. Defensive Mega Metagross can deal with Mega Gyarados, Tapu Lele, Dragonite, Greninja, Mega Venusaur, and Mega Altaria which can be troublesome for Mega Garchomp while in return, it can check Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Aegislash, Donphan, Heatran, and Blaziken for Mega Metagross. Choice Band Kartana is another option which can take on bulky Tapu Lele, Mega Gyarados, and Jumpluff for supporting Mega Garchomp.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Choice Scarf boosts Garchomp's Speed, letting it defeat fast offensive threats such as Greninja and Naganadel and granting it guaranteed win against Blaziken but without Choice Band's Attack boost, it's unable to defeat bulky Pokemon like Mega Mawile, Magearna, and Aegislash. A Haban Berry set with an EV spread of 248 HP / 48 Atk / 112 Def / 96 SpD / 4 Spe with a Jolly nature and the moves Rock Tomb, Outrage, Earthquake, and Substitute can be used to defeat Dragon-types including Dragonite, Naganadel, Latios, and Haxorus but it comes at a cost of Garchomp's offensive power and leaves it unable to defeat bulky Pokemon like Mega Venusaur and Chansey. Fling can be used with the Choiced sets to defeat Air Balloon Heatran and Magnezone. Mega Garchomp can also run a specially defensive set with an EV spread of 200 HP / 52 Atk / 252 SpD / 4 Spe with an Adamant nature to defeat Porygon-Z, Choice Specs Necrozma, Psychium Z Tapu Lele, Primarina, and Choice Scarf Latios at the cost of losing to powerful physical attackers like Mega Charizard X and Mega Lucario. Corkscrew Crash with Iron Tail lets Garchomp lure in and defeat some Fairy types that usually defeat it, namely bulky Tapu Lele and Mega Altaria.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Ice-type Attacks**: Ice-type moves mostly OHKO Garchomp, as it is 4x weak to Ice. Pokemon like Porygon-Z, Mega Gyarados, Donphan, Greninja, Magnezone, Avalugg, and Genesect carry Ice-type moves and are able to defeat Garchomp if they outspeed it or survive its attacks.

**Faster Offensive Pokemon**: Garchomp gets outsped by some hard hitters like Greninja, Naganadel, Mega Lopunny, and Choice Scarf users like Porygon-Z, and Latios which can OHKO it before it gets a chance to retaliate.

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Physically defensive Pokemon like Mega Slowbro, Mega Sableye, and Deoxys-S can tank Mega Garchomp's hits and either wear it down by boosting their defenses and healing or KO it with their attacks. However, Z-Move Garchomp can defeat all of the aforementioned threats, Mega Slowbro if using Rest.

**Bulky Fairy-types**: Mega Altaria and bulky Tapu Lele can take a Banded Poison Jab as well as Tectonic Rage from Garchomp and then OHKO back with their super-effective Fairy-type STABs.

**Water-types**: Water-types like Greninja outspeed and OHKO Garchomp with Ice Beam while Mega Gyarados and Tapu Fini can take a hit from Garchomp and OHKO back with Ice Fang and Moonblast respectively.

Its high Attack stat lets it KO a lot of Pokemon such as both Mega Charizard formes, Mewnium Z Mew (I'm quite sure that it doesn't KO this unless 0 HP which is ass), Aegislash, and Magearna. Rough Skin offers chip damage that helps it in turning some 3HKOs and 2HKOes into 2HKOs and OHKOs and some non-guaranteed OHKOs into guaranteed OHKOs, such as when facing Choice Band Kartana and defensive Mega Metagross. Rough Skin also helps Garchomp defeat F.E.A.R. Aron. Garchomp's great offensive typing lets it defeat the ever-so-common Fire-, Steel-, and Dragon-type Pokemon such as both Mega Charizard formes, Magearna, Aegislash, and Kommo-o. Not sure about having these sets together. EQ is useless on Dragonium minus beating Magnezone and Aegislash, but Fire Blast beats Magnezone too. Rock Tomb is nice to have on Groundium variants because without it it's easy to lose to Zard X and Outrage is also non-mandatory on Groundium. Implement these things as you will, but I'm not satisfied with these moves on these sets as is

Swords Dance increases Garchomp's Attack which makes its Z-moves even more powerful. It can be used against Mega Venusaur, Snorlax, Zygarde-C, Chansey, and Mega Slowbro It loses to Mega Slowbro always to power up its moves before attacking. It should be mostly used in conjunction to Substitute for additional safety. Outrage is a powerful Dragon-type STAB which hits Dragon and the non-resisted types with massive damage. With Devastating Drake, Garchomp can defeat the likes of bulky both Mega Charizard formes, Mew, non-bulk invested Dragonite, Landorus-T, and Meloetta. Meloetta and Mew should easily survive Earthquake as the Ground-type STAB hits Defensive Mega Metagross as well as the faster variant without Ice Punch, Blaziken, Aegislash, Stakataka and other such Pokemon that resist Outrage. With Tectonic Rage, Garchomp can also defeat Mega Mawile, and Curse Mega Aggron most of the time. Substitute helps in blocking status moves like Sleep Powder, Charm, and Yawn from Mega Venusaur, Snorlax, and Chansey respectively; taking Z-Moves like Tectonic Rage from Landorus-T and Never-Ending Nightmare from Aegislash; rechargeable moves from Mega Blastoise and Meloetta, and in blocking Counter from Sawk, Crustle, and Chansey. It also helps Garchomp in scouting for moves and giving it a chance of defeating bulky Dragonite if not using Dragonium Z through confusion from Outrage as well as increasing its chance of winning against Pokemon that use moves that can miss such as Fleur Cannon from Magearna if not running Groundium Z. Substitute also gives Garchomp have a chance of defeating Golem if you are successful in predicting when the opposing Golem would use Sucker Punch and when it won't.

Set Details

Maximum Attack and Speed EVs investment with a Jolly nature allow Garchomp to hit as hard as possible while outspeeding as many Pokemon as possible including both Mega Charizard formes, Mega Gardevoir, Landorus-T, Landorus, and most Mega Pinsir. Groundium Z upgrades Earthquake's power into a devastating 180 Base Powered Tectonic Rage while Outrage is boosted to a sky-rocketing 190 Base Power Devastating Drake by Dragonium Z. Rough Skin hurts attackers with contact moves which helps it in defeating Choice Band Kartana when equipped with Groundium Z.

Usage Tips
========
With either of the Z-Crystals, Garchomp can be sent against Pokemon like both Mega Charizard formes, Mega Venusaur, Snorlax, Chansey, Crustle, and Mew. When equipped with Groundium Z, it can also be sent against Mega Mawile, Magearna, Mega Gardevoir, Waterium Z Tapu Fini, and Curse Mega Aggron while the Dragonium Z one can be sent against non-bulk invested Dragonite, Zygarde-C, Landorus-T, and Mega Pinsir. Garchomp is vulnerable to Sturdy Pokemon like Donphan, Pokemon with Ice-type Attacks such as Porygon-Z and Greninja and some of the faster Pokemon like Mega Lopunny so avoid sending it against them. Start with Substitute against Charizard and if it's Mega Charizard Y then use Devastating Drake or Outrage twice. If it turns out to be offensive Mega Charizard X and it mega evolves then either of the Z-Moves can be used to OHKO. If they do not mega evolve and Dragon Dance, use the Z-Move. Substitute would also be able to block Counter from bulky Mega Charizard X.

Team Options
========

Semi-bulky Mega Charizard Y with Flame Charge checks Mega Gyarados and Mega Slowbro, Porygon-Z, Mimikyu, Tapu Lele, Tapu Fini, and Greninja. Garchomp in return checks Zygarde-C, Snorlax, Meloetta, Chansey, and Crustle for supporting Mega Charizard Y. Fairium Z Magearna defeats Mega Gyarados, Tapu Lele, Mega Altaria, Porygon-Z and Sturdy Pokemon like Donphan, turning out to be another great partner for Garchomp. Outrage is Garchomp's most powerful STAB move and hits all the Dragon-types such as Mega Charizard X, Zygarde-C, and Kommo-o super effectively and deals massive damage to Pokemon that do not resist it. It also has a minimal opportunity cost, as in most battles, Garchomp won't get confused. Earthquake hits Steel-, Poison-, Electric-, and Rock-types super effectively and other types that resist Outrage neutrally, allowing it to KO Pokemon like Mega Metagross, Excadrill, and Blaziken. Poison Jab hits Fairy- and Grass-types super effectively, letting Garchomp KO Whimsicott, Tapu Bulu, Togekiss, (Togekiss probably shouldn't be mentioned considering Garchomp can't OHKO it and loses to all of its sets) and Mega Gardevoir. Fire Fang lets it KO other Steel-types that are not hit super effectively by Earthquake such as Ferrothorn, Celesteela, and Kartana. It also comes with a 10% chance to burn and/or flinch the target, which might prove to be useful against F.E.A.R. Pokemon that use Toxic stall such as level 2 Probopass Aron. Stone Edge can be used over Fire Fang to hit Flying-types like Mega Pinsir. (Mega Pinsir should always outspeed and OHKO. Keep this move still for the Zard X situation mentioned below) It also gives Garchomp EdgeQuake coverage, which few Pokemon resist. Stone Edge can also be used against predicted bulky Mega Charizard X that may not decide to mega evolve, it also OHKOes offensive Mega Charizard X regardles of the mega evolution decision.

Set Details
========

252 Attack EVs with Choice Band allow it to hit as hard as possible letting it KO bulky both Mega Charizard formes, Magearna, Aegislash, and Kartana. Rough Skin is the ability of choice to hurt physical attackers that use contact moves which makes Earthquake a guaranteed OHKO against Defensive Mega Metagross.

Usage Tips
========

It's best to send Garchomp in if the opponent has Pokemon that are outsped by it and are not bulky enough to wall its attacks. This includes a huge portion of the metagame, as its base 102 Speed and 130 Attack combined with Choice Band lets it OHKO common threats like both Mega Charizard formes, Landorus, and Magearna. Fire Fang does around 30% damage, which combined with the Rough Skin damage that Crustle suffers on using Counter makes it a guaranteed 3HKO for Garchomp.

Powerful special wallbreakers like Choice Scarf Porygon-Z or Choice Specs Greninja are great teammates for Garchomp, as they can defeat physically defensive Pokemon like Mega Slowbro and Mega Blastoise, which Garchomp struggles against. Porygon-Z can also check Mega Lopunny and Jumpluff for Garchomp. Pokemon that are able to defeat the highly used Mega Gyarados such as bulky Mega Charizard Y, and Mega Venusaur are necessary and pair up well with Garchomp, as Mega Gyarados is able to KO it with Outrage. Mega Gyarados itself emerges as another great teammate for Garchomp, as it is capable of defeating Sturdy Pokemon and other Pokemon that Garchomp is not able to defeat like Mimikyu, Mega Aggron, Dragonite, and Donphan. Garchomp has great synergy with Mega Venusaur, since Mega Venusaur beats Mega Gyarados, Donphan, Magnezone, Mega Altaria, and Mega Slowbro, which defeat Garchomp, while Garchomp can check the Pokemon that defeat Mega Venusaur such as both Mega Charizard formes, Mega Pinsir, and Mega Metagross. Aegislash and Genesect can be paired with Garchomp to scare off the abundant Fairy-types such as bulky Mega Mawile, Mega Altaria, and Choice Scarf Tapu Lele, which can be problematic for Garchomp. Mega Heracross can defeat Mega Gyarados, Snorlax, Mega Slowbro, and all Sturdy Pokemon, which Garchomp appreciates, making it a reliable team member.

Rock Tomb provides it Rock-type coverage and acts as a speed control move to slow down Pokemon like Charizard, Landorus, Mega Pinsir, Heatran, Sawk, Ghostium Z Mimikyu, and Mega Diancie before KOing them with its STABs. Thanks to its decent Special Attack Surf can be used, albeit of having a Special Attack reducing nature, to avoid getting hit by Counter and 2HKO Donphan and Golem.

Set Details
========

248 HP investment increases Mega Garchomp's overall bulk while retaining an odd HP stat. 172 Defense EVs along with the HP investment and an Impish nature allow Mega Garchomp to survive some of the most potent moves in 1v1 including Outrage from Mega Charizard X, Tectonic Rage and Ice Shard from Donphan, Tectonic Rage from Landorus-T at +1 Attack, 200 BP Flail from Mega Pinsir, 200 BP Reversal from Mega Lucario, and Meteor Mash twice from Mega Metagross. 80 SpD along with the HP investment ensure that Mega Garchomp survives a Hyper Beam from Porygon-Z. The EVs also allow Mega Garchomp to withstand a combination of Never Ending Nightmare and Shadow Sneak from Aegislash, Hydro Vortex and Aqua Jet from Primarina; Hidden Power Ice from Magnezone, and a combination of Rock Tomb from Diancie and Moonblast from Mega Diancie. 8 Speed EVs help Mega Garchomp in outspeeding Landorus after a Rock Tomb. Rough Skin as the pre-Mega Evolution provides chip damage to attackers with contact moves which can be useful against Fake Out users like Mega Lopunny, Mega Medicham, and Hitmonlee. Sand Force increases Rock Tomb's and Earthquake's Base Power to 72 and 120 in Sandstorm which helps it defeat Mega Tyranitar.

Usage Tips
========

Mega Garchomp boasts immense bulk and its advantage can be used in the Team Preview to send it against all Sturdy Pokemon, both Mega Charizard formes, Mega Lucario, Blaziken, and Magnezone. With the added bulk, it can defeat them but due to comparatively less power it trades away victory against bulky Pokemon. Avoid sending it against Greninja, Tapu Lele, Mimikyu, and bulky Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Zygarde-C, Chansey, and Mega Slowbro. Mega Garchomp counters Mega Charizard Y, so always play assuming that the opposing variant of Charizard is Mega Charizard X. If you predict Mega Charizard X to not mega evolve and use Dragon Dance or mega evolve and use Outrage, then click Rock Tomb and follow it up by Outrage while if you predict Mega Charizard X to mega evolve and use Dragon Dance, then go for Outrage.

Team Options
========

Terrakion can help Mega Garchomp by checking Porygon-Z, Chansey, and Snorlax. The duo of Garchomp and Terrakion scare off Charizard and lure in Sturdy Pokemon from the Team Preview which can be defeated by Mega Garchomp. Choice Specs Greninja can be paired to defeat Zygarde-C, Dragonite, Mega Altaria, Jumpluff, Nagandel, and most Mega Gyarados sets which threaten Mega Garchomp while in return Mega Garchomp can check Mega Charizard Y, Sturdy Pokemon like Golem and Magnezone for supporting Greninja. Defensive Mega Metagross can deal with Mega Gyarados, Tapu Lele, Dragonite, Greninja, Mega Venusaur, and Mega Altaria which can be troublesome for Mega Garchomp while in return, it can check both Mega Charizard formes, Aegislash, Donphan, Heatran, and Blaziken for Mega Metagross. Choice Band Kartana is another option which can take on bulky Tapu Lele, Mega Gyarados, Mimikyu, and Jumpluff for supporting Mega Garchomp.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

- Choice Scarf boosts Garchomp's Speed, letting it defeat fast offensive threats such as Greninja and Naganadel and granting it guaranteed wins against Blaziken and Jirachi, but without Choice Band's Attack boost, it's unable to defeat bulky Pokemon like Mega Mawile, Magearna, bulky Kyurem-B UMM, and Aegislash.
- A Haban Berry set with an EV spread of 248 HP / 44 Atk / 20 Def / 96 SpD / 100 Spe with the moves Rock Tomb, Outrage, Earthquake, and Substitute can be used to defeat Dragon-types including Dragonite, Naganadel, Latios, and Haxorus but it comes at a cost of Garchomp's offensive power and leaves it unable to defeat bulky Pokemon like Mega Venusaur and Chansey.
- Swords Dance can be used over Surf in the Mega Garchomp set to defeat Zygarde-C and certain bulky Flynium Z Dragonite sets at the cost of making the matchup against Sturdy Pokemon with Counter like Golem and Donphan prediction reliant. Out of OO, into the main set.
- Fling can be used with the Choiced sets to defeat Air Balloon Heatran and Magnezone.
- Corkscrew Crash with Iron Tail lets Garchomp lure in and defeat some Fairy types that usually defeat it, namely bulky Tapu Lele and Mega Altaria.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Ice-type Attacks**: Ice-type moves mostly OHKO Garchomp, as it is 4x weak to Ice. Pokemon like Porygon-Z, Mega Gyarados, Donphan, Greninja, Avalugg, and Genesect carry Ice-type moves and are able to defeat Garchomp if they outspeed it or survive its attacks.

**Faster Offensive Pokemon**: Garchomp gets outsped by some hard hitters like Greninja, Naganadel, Mega Lopunny, Mega Lucario, and Choice Scarf users like Porygon-Z, and Latios which can OHKO it before it gets a chance to retaliate.

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Physically defensive Pokemon like Mega Slowbro, Chansey, and Umbreon can tank Mega Garchomp's hits and either wear it down by boosting their defenses and healing or KO it with their attacks.

**Sturdy Pokemon**: Sturdy Pokemon such as Donphan, Golem, and Magnezone pose a great threat to Garchomp sets as they can take one attack and KO back with their own. However, Mega Garchomp can defeat all Sturdy Pokemon.
I want to see the changes before I stamp off on the QC. lmk when implemented

literally everywhere: remove snorlax

overview:
- add "and solid offensive typing" after attack stat and also "common pokemon" when talking about gross or charizard or magearna
- remove defensive metagross from rough skin thing, doesn't change anything
- remove typing thing when talking about beating "ever so common" mons. you already said this.
- wouldn't say it's "very" hard to predict. just decently or relatively.
- replace lucario with greninja, and add water type mons LIKE GYARADOS when talking about weaknesses.
- talk about naga over scarf latios, turn "most" into "some", remove the set dependant part.
dragonium:
- !move this below groundium.!
- eq over fire blast/tomb. period. beating kartanas isn't valuable enough.
- turn the terrakion bullshit into "chip physical attackers using contact moves" or smth
- remove the fire blast donphan thing, you die to 2 shards, lol
- mention owning kommoo somwhere
groundium:
- mention better matchup vs steels, like magearna
- outrage over rock tomb. if you manage to lose the chomper vs zard mu you're prolly retarded. remove mentions of rock tomb.
band:
set: outrage, eq, rock tomb, ironhead / fire fang. iron head is better for garde or whatever lele or something you wanna cheese.
oo:
remove jirachi
cc:
- remove sturdy section completely. put donphan into ice type moves part.
- in physically defensive section make it slowbro, sableye and deos.
! add water type section for gyara, gren and primafini!

[OVERVIEW]

Garchomp comes with a great stat spread; most importantly, its base 102 Speed which allows it to run multiple sets, outspeed and defeat top-tier threats such as both Mega Charizard formes and Landorus-T. Its high Attack stat and solid offensive typing lets it KO a lot of Pokemon such as both Mega Charizard formes, Aegislash, Magearna, and Mega Venusaur. Its power can be further upgraded with Choice Band and Z-Crystals while Choice Scarf can be used to outpace and defeat Naganadel, Mega Lopunny, Greninja, Pheromosa and Mega Lucario(Just ordering in decreasing order of usage, importance, and relevance) , Greninja, and Pheromosa. Rough Skin offers chip damage that helps it in turning some 3HKOs and 2HKOes into 2HKOs and OHKOs and some non-guaranteed OHKOs into guaranteed OHKOs, such as when facing Choice Band Kartana, and defeat F.E.A.R. FEAR Aron. Garchomp also has a mega evolution which turns it into a bulky powerhouse which can defeat a lot of Pokemon that threaten its regular forme such as Magnezone, Donphan, and bulky Primarina. It is left outsped by some hard-hitters like Mega Pinsir and Mega Lucario which can one-shot it. Although it can defeat some Dragon-type Pokemon but ,(AC)it loses to Dragonite, and Naganadel. The former can survive a hit and OHKO back while the latter outspeeds and OHKOs.

Moves
========
Swords Dance increases Garchomp's Attack which makes Tectonic Rage even more powerful which can be used against Mega Venusaur, and Chansey to power up its moves before attacking. Earthquake as the Ground-type STAB lets it defeat Aegislash, Blaziken, and Stakataka. With Tectonic Rage, Garchomp can also defeat Defensive Mega Metagross as well as the faster variant without Ice Punch, Mega Mawile, Magearna, and Curse Mega Aggron most of the time. Rock Tomb as a speed control move lets it defeat Mega Charizard X more reliably. Substitute helps in scouting for moves, blocking status moves like Sleep Powder, Charm, and Yawn from Mega Venusaur, and Chansey respectively;,(RSC, and AC) taking Z-Moves like Tectonic Rage from Landorus-T;,(RSC, and AC) rechargeable moves from Mega Blastoise and Meloetta, and in blocking Counter from Sawk, Crustle, and Chansey. It also gives Garchomp a chance of defeating Golem if you are successful in predicting when the opposing Golem would use Sucker Punch.

Set Details
========
Maximum Attack and Speed EVs investment with a Jolly nature allow Garchomp to hit as hard as possible while outspeeding as many Pokemon as possible including both Mega Charizard formes, Mega Gardevoir, Landorus-T, and Landorus. Groundium Z upgrades Earthquake's power into a devastating 180 Base Powered Tectonic Rage. Rough Skin hurts attackers with contact moves which helps it in defeating Choice Band Kartana. (Does it tank Banded Giga Impact, tho? 212 Atk Choice Band Kartana Giga Impact vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Garchomp: 321-378 (100 - 117.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO )

Usage Tips
========
With Groundium Z, Garchomp can be sent against Pokemon like both Mega Charizard formes, Mega Venusaur, Magearna, Mega Gardevoir, Waterium Z Tapu Fini, and Curse Mega Aggron. Garchomp is vulnerable to Sturdy Pokemon like Donphan, Pokemon with Ice-type Attacks such as Porygon-Z and Greninja and some of the faster Pokemon like Mega Lopunny,(AC) so avoid sending it against them. Against Charizard, start with Substitute to block Counter and scout for the mega evolution forme. Mega Charizard Y can be KOed with Rock Tomb. If it turns out to be offensive Mega Charizard X and it mega evolves,(AC) then KO it with Tectonic Rage. If they do not mega evolve and Dragon Dance, use Rock Tomb until they break Garchomp's Substitute and then finish them off with Tectonic Rage. Substitute should be mostly used in conjunction to Substitute for additional safety from status moves.
(If you choose to add Outrage to this set, please reflect the changes wherever applicable)

Team Options

Powerful Special Attackers can help Garchomp with physically bulky Pokemon such as Mega Slowbro and Mega Gyarados;(ASC) for example,(AC) bulky Mega Charizard Y with Flame Charge; in addition to these it also checks Porygon-Z, Mimikyu, Tapu Lele, Tapu Fini, and Greninja which threaten Garchomp. Garchomp in return checks Zygarde-C, Meloetta, Chansey, and Crustle for supporting Mega Charizard Y. At the same time, Garchomp checks both Mega Charizard formes, Zygarde-C, Mega Venusaur, and Chansey which can be troublesome for Magearna.

Moves

Swords Dance increases Garchomp's Attack which makes its Devastating Drake even more powerful which can be used against Mega Venusaur and Rest Mega Slowbro to power up its moves before attacking. Outrage is a powerful Dragon-type STAB which hits Dragon and the non-resisted types with massive damage. With Devastating Drake, Garchomp can defeat the likes of bulky versions of both Mega Charizard formes, non-bulk invested Dragonite, Zygarde-C, Kommo-o, and Landorus-T. Rock Tomb can be used as a speed control move lets it defeat Mega Charizard X more reliably. Fire Blast provides Garchomp Fire-type coverage to defeat Durant, Non-Choice Scarf Excadrill, Kartana, Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor and gives it a chance of defeating Magnezone. It also comes with a useful 10% burn chance(Don't mention if you can find any real scenario where it is useful). Earthquake can help Garchomp beat Aegislash, Excadrill, and Stakataka(Not a very relevant example). Substitute helps in scouting for moves, blocking status moves like Sleep Powder, Charm, and Yawn from Mega Venusaur, and Chansey respectively;,(RSC, AC)taking Z-Moves like Tectonic Rage from Landorus-T;,(RSC, AC) rechargeable moves from Mega Blastoise and Meloetta, and in blocking Counter from Sawk, Crustle, and Chansey. It also gives Garchomp a chance of defeating Pokemon that use moves that can miss such as Fleur Cannon from Choice Specs Magearna and a chance of defeating Golem if you are successful in predicting when the opposing Golem would use Sucker Punch.

(Nothing is wrong as such with this section, but I would suggest changing the phrasing of the sentences you just lifted from the previous sections, because you will be asked to do so during GP phase anyway....)

Set Details
========
Maximum Attack and Speed EVs investment with a Naive nature allow Garchomp to hit as hard as possible while outspeeding as many Pokemon as possible including both Mega Charizard formes, Landorus-T, and Landorus. Outrage is boosted to a sky-rocketing 190 Base Power Devastating Drake by Dragonium Z. Rough Skin provides chip damage against contact move attackers.

Usage Tips
========
With Dragonium Z, Garchomp can be sent against Pokemon like both Mega Charizard formes, Mega Venusaur, Mega Slowbro, (You might have defeated me with it once, but I had Rest, while most people use Slack Off, so please....) non-bulk invested Dragonite, Zygarde-C, and Landorus-T. Garchomp is vulnerable to Sturdy Pokemon like Donphan, Pokemon with Ice-type Attacks such as Porygon-Z and Greninja and some of the faster Pokemon like Mega Lopunny so avoid sending it against them. Against Charizard, start with Substitute to block Counter and scout for the mega evolution forme. Mega Charizard can be KOed with Devastating Drake followed by Earthquake. If it turns out to be offensive Mega Charizard X and it mega evolves then KO it with Devastating Drake. If they do not mega evolve and Dragon Dance, use Rock Tomb until they break Garchomp's Substitute and then finish them off with Devastating Drake. Substitute should be mostly used in conjunction to Substitute (sure....) for additional safety(twice the amount of Substitute is too much safety, IMO... What do you think?:blobnom:) from status moves. When matched up against Donphan, always start with Fire Blast as getting a burn to survive a Tectonic Rage or blocking Counter is the best option for Garchomp to win,(AC) and follow up with Devastating Drake.

Moves
========
Outrage is Garchomp's most powerful STAB move and hits all the Dragon-types such as Mega Charizard X, Zygarde-C, and Kommo-o super effectively and deals massive damage to Pokemon that do not resist it. It also has a minimal opportunity cost,(RC) as,(AC) in most battles, Garchomp won't get confused. Stone Edge can also be used against predicted bulky Mega Charizard X that may not decide to mega evolve, it also OHKOes offensive Mega Charizard X regardless of the mega evolution decision.

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========
Fire Fang does around 30% damage, which combined with the Rough Skin damage that Crustle suffers on using Counter makes it a guaranteed 3HKO for Garchomp along with Rough Skin damage from Counter, makes it a reliable 3HKO.
(Removed an additional blank line between Usage Tips and Team Options)

Powerful special wallbreakers like Choice Scarf Porygon-Z(questionable option, considering Choice Scarf Porygon-Z beats neither MBro nor MToise; maybe add Mega Gardevoir?) or Choice Specs Greninja are great teammates for Garchomp, as they can defeat physically defensive Pokemon like Mega Slowbro and Mega Blastoise, which Garchomp struggles against. Porygon-Z can also check Mega Lopunny and Jumpluff for Garchomp. Swords Dance can be used over Surf in the Mega Garchomp set to defeat Zygarde-C and certain bulky Flynium Z Dragonite sets at the cost of making the matchup against Sturdy Pokemon with Counter like Golem and Donphan prediction reliant.

252 HP investment increases Mega Garchomp's overall bulk. 172 176 Defense EVs along with the HP investment and an Impish nature allow Mega Garchomp to survive some of the most potent moves in 1v1 including Outrage from Jolly Mega Charizard X, Tectonic Rage and Ice Shard from Donphan, Tectonic Rage from Landorus-T at +1 Attack, 200 BP Flail from Mega Pinsir, 200 BP Reversal from Mega Lucario, and Meteor Mash twice from Mega Metagross(252 Atk Tough Claws Charizard-Mega-X Outrage vs. 252 HP / 176+ Def Garchomp-Mega: 354-416 (84.2 - 99%) -- guaranteed 2HKO, while 252 Atk Tough Claws Charizard-Mega-X Outrage vs. 252 HP / 172+ Def Garchomp-Mega: 356-420 (84.7 - 100%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO). Rough Skin as the pre-Mega Evolution provides chip damage to attackers with contact moves which can be useful against Fake Out users like Mega Lopunny, Mega Medicham, and Hitmonlee Zeraora. Sand Force increases Earthquake's Base Power to 120 in Sandstorm which helps it defeat Mega Tyranitar.

Usage Tips
========
Avoid sending it against Greninja, Tapu Lele, Mimikyu (BANNED!!!! HELL YEAH), and bulky Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Zygarde-C, Chansey, and Mega Slowbro.

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Physically defensive Pokemon like Mega Slowbro, Mega Sableye, and Deoxys-Speed Deoxys-S can tank Mega Garchomp's hits and either wear it down by boosting their defenses and healing or KO it with their attacks.

**Water-types**: Water-types like Greninja outspeed and OHKO Garchomp with Ice Beam while Mega Gyarados and Tapu Fini can take a hit from Garchomp and OHKO back with Ice Fang and Moonblast respectively.(Already mentioned)

FEAR Aron. Garchomp also has a mega evolution which turns it into a bulky powerhouse which can defeat a lot of Pokemon that threaten its regular forme such as Magnezone, Donphan, and bulky Primarina. It is left outsped by some hard-hitters like Mega Pinsir and Mega Lucario which can one-shot it. Although it can defeat some Dragon-type Pokemon but ,(AC)it loses to Dragonite, and Naganadel. Moves
========

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

At the same time, Garchomp checks both Mega Charizard formes, Zygarde-C, Mega Venusaur, and Chansey which can be troublesome for Magearna.

Moves
========

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

Team Options

Moves
========
Stone Edge can also be used against predicted bulky Mega Charizard X that may not decide to mega evolve, it also OHKOes offensive Mega Charizard X regardless of the mega evolution decision.

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

Team Options
========

Swords Dance can be used over Surf in the Mega Garchomp set to defeat Zygarde-C and certain bulky Flynium Z Dragonite sets at the cost of making the matchup against Sturdy Pokemon with Counter like Golem and Donphan prediction reliant.

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========
Avoid sending it against Greninja, Tapu Lele, Mimikyu (BANNED!!!! HELL YEAH), and bulky Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Zygarde-C, Chansey, and Mega Slowbro. Mega Garchomp counters Mega Charizard Y, so always play assuming that the opposing variant of Charizard is Mega Charizard X. If you predict Mega Charizard X to not mega evolve and use Dragon Dance or mega evolve and use Outrage, then use Rock Tomb and follow it up by Outrage while if you predict Mega Charizard X to mega evolve and use Dragon Dance, then go for Outrage.

here we gooo
Bolded is additions, strikethrough is stuff that should be removed, underline needs to be edited in some way, red is comments. All information I bring are based on 1630 Usage stats (considering anything at or above 6% usage relevant) and Calcs.

[OVERVIEW]

Garchomp comes with a great stat spread; most importantly, its base 102 Speed which allows it to run multiple sets, outspeed and defeat top-tier threats such as Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y and Landorus-T I would use a more universal example for Overview, as you haven't mentioned any particular set; I'm pretty sure the subtonic set isn't beating Lando-T anytime soon. Its high Attack stat and solid offensive typing lets it KO a lot of Pokemon such as Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Aegislash, Magearna, and Mega Venusaur. Its power can be further upgraded with Choice Band and Z-Crystals while Choice Scarf can be used to outpace and defeat Naganadel, Non-Choice Scarf Greninja, Mega Lucario, and Pheromosa. since this is a OO, I would not mention it in overview, especially since later in Overview you mention losing to mons scarf can beat, like naga and Mega Lucario. Garchomp also has a mega evolution which turns it into a bulky powerhouse which can defeat a lot of Pokemon that threaten its regular forme such as Electrium Z Magnezone specs almost kos w/ hp ice 94% of the time, 8% usage, Donphan, and bulky Primarina While there are many different variants of bulky Primarina, the one currently being submitted in its own analysis will 2hko you and cannot be taken down in 2 turns. Inconsistent matchup, find a better one if u can. It is left outsped by some hard-hitters like Mega Pinsir and Mega Lucario which can one-shot it regular Garchomp non mega takes a hit from both. Swords Dance increases Garchomp's Attack which makes Tectonic Rage even more powerful which can be used against Mega Venusaur, and Chansey to power up its moves before attacking. Earthquake as the Ground-type STAB lets it defeat Aegislash, non-reversal Blaziken, and Stakataka consider using a different mon as Stakataka isn't even ranked. With Tectonic Rage, Garchomp can also defeat Defensive Mega Metagross as well as the faster variant without Ice Punch, Mega Mawile, Magearna, and Curse Mega Aggron most of the time that doesn't mean anything without situational context. Under what situations do these Pokemon win? And if its a set that isn't run unless to cteam, you don't need to mention that you may still lose, as there's hardly any matchup that can't involve cteaming to win/improve odds. Rock Tomb as a speed control move lets it defeat Mega Charizard X more reliably if it doesn't mega evolve in order to avoid super effective Dragon- or Ground-Type damage. Also mention that Rock Tomb serves as coverage so you can beat certain Flying-Type Pokemon like Mega Charizard Y, etc Substitute helps in scouting for moves, blocking status moves like Sleep Powder, Charm, from Mega Venusaur, and Chansey respectively, taking Z-Moves like Tectonic Rage from Landorus-T, rechargeable moves from Mega Blastoise and Meloetta, and in blocking Counter from Sawk, Crustle, and Chansey. It also gives Garchomp a chance of defeating Golem if you are successful in predicting when the opposing Golem would use Sucker Punch. As Golem isn't an incredibly used Pokemon, and this is a matchup with multiple 50/50s leaning towards Golem, I wouldn't mention it.

Maximum Attack and Speed EVs investment with a Jolly nature allow Garchomp to hit as hard as possible while outspeeding as many Pokemon as possible including Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Gardevoir, Landorus-T, and Landorus. Groundium Z upgrades Earthquake's power into a devastating 180 Base Powered Tectonic Rage. Rough Skin as the ability provides chip damage against contact move attackers. Does 4 Spdef have a purpose? If yes, mention what it serves. If no, say its just there not to waste evs or whatevs.

With Groundium Z, Garchomp can be sent against Pokemon like Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y currently sounds like you're saying Z-Earthquake beats a flying type. Either remove this mon or specify that the SubTonic Rage set beats Char Y, Mega Venusaur, Magearna, Mega Gardevoir, Waterium Z Non-Choice Specs You can beat Tapunium too Tapu Fini, and Curse Mega Aggron. Garchomp is vulnerable to Sturdy Pokemon like Donphan, Pokemon with Ice-type Attacks such as Porygon-Z and Greninja and some of the faster Pokemon like Mega Lopunny, so avoid sending it against them. Against Charizard, start with Substitute to block Counter and scout for the mega evolution forme, avoiding potentially lose against Mega Charizard X if you use the wrong attack against the wrong form (or something like that, basically saying that without sub against X its a 50/50). Uh what does this even mean? "Substitute should be mostly used in conjunction to Substitute" Do you mean like, use Substitute multiple times to protect from status? idk, make the meaning more clear

Powerful Special Attackers can help Garchomp with physically bulky Pokemon such as Mega Slowbro and Mega Gyarados; for example, bulky Mega Charizard Y with Flame Charge; in addition to these it also checks Choice Scarf Porygon-Z, bulky Tapu Lele, Tapu Fini, and Greninja which threaten Garchomp. Garchomp in return checks Zygarde-C nah son, u ain't dragonium, Meloetta, Chansey, and Crustle for supporting Mega Charizard Y add Normalium Pz and offensive Tapu Lele. At the same time, Garchomp checks Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Zygarde-C nah son, u ain't dragonium, Mega Venusaur, and Chansey which can be troublesome for Magearna.

With Devastating Drake, Garchomp can defeat the likes of bulky versions of both Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y, non-bulk invested Dragonite, Zygarde-C, Kommo-o, and non-Choice Scarf Landorus-T. Rock Tomb can be used as a speed control move lets it defeat Mega Charizard X more reliably if it doesn't mega evolve in order to avoid super effective Dragon- or Ground-Type damage. Fire Blast provides Garchomp Fire-type coverage to defeat Durant, Non-Choice Scarf Excadrill, Choice Band Kartana, Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor and gives it a chance of defeating Electrium Z Magnezone. Earthquake can help Garchomp beat Aegislash and Excadrill. Substitute helps in scouting for moves, blocking status moves like Sleep Powder, Charm, and Yawn from Mega Venusaur, and Chansey respectively; taking Z-Moves like Tectonic Rage from Landorus-T; rechargeable moves from Mega Blastoise and Meloetta, and in blocking Counter from Sawk, Crustle, and Chansey. It also gives Garchomp a chance of defeating Pokemon that use moves that can miss such as Fleur Cannon from Choice Specs Magearna and a chance of defeating Golem if you are successful in predicting when the opposing Golem would use Sucker Punch. Again, both examples aren't exactly the most relevant to the metagame (choice specs mag), I would avoid mentioning inconsistent matchups unless its against extremely relevant threats (like Fairium Magearna).

Rough Skin provides chip damage against contact move attackers. 4 EVs are put into Special Attack if you run the Fire Blast variant; if you do not, put the EVs into Special Defense, so as to not waste them.

If they do not mega evolve and Dragon Dance, use Rock Tomb until they break Garchomp's Substitute and then finish them off with Devastating Drake. Substitute should be mostly used in conjunction to Substitute for additional safety from status moves still no idea what this means. When matched up against Donphan, always start with Fire Blast as getting a burn to survive a Tectonic Rage or blocking Counter is the best option for Garchomp to win and follow up with Devastating Drake. A very inconsistent matchup vs only a moderately used mon. You can, however, generalize this statement by saying something along the lines of "Fire Blast also has a 10% chance to burn, which can be used to sometimes gain an advantage against unfavorable matchups. This is naturally very inconsistent and unreliable"

Moves

Outrage is Garchomp's most powerful STAB move and hits all the Dragon-types such as Mega Charizard X, Zygarde-C, and Kommo-o super effectively and deals massive damage to Pokemon that do not resist it. It also has a minimal opportunity cost as in most battles, Garchomp won't get confused, since you will likely 2HKO any Pokemon hit super effectively or neutrally. Therefore, the only issue with Outrage to look out for will be being locked into Outrage for 2-3 turns. Earthquake hits Steel-, Poison-, Electric-, and Rock-types super effectively and other types that resist Outrage neutrally resists Outrage or Outrage hits neutrally, allowing it to KO Pokemon like bulky non-Ice Punch Mega Metagross, Excadrill, and non-Reversal Blaziken. Poison Jab hits Fairy- and Grass-types super effectively, letting Garchomp KO Whimsicott, Tapu Bulu, and offensive Mega Gardevoir. Fire Fang lets it KO other Steel-types that are not hit super effectively by Earthquake such as Ferrothorn, Celesteela, Mega Scizor, and Choice Band Kartana. It also comes with a 10% chance to burn and/or flinch the target, which might prove to be useful against F.E.A.R. Pokemon that use Toxic stall such as level 2 Probopass what I said before, if you can generalize this it would be better, something like "which may be able to help Garchomp win matchups it normally shouldn't. This is naturally very inconsistent and shouldn't be relied on, however". This is fine, as bulky Mega Charizard X is very a relevant Pokemon

252 Attack EVs with Choice Band allow it to hit as hard as possible letting it KO bulky it kos Offensive too Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Magearna, Aegislash, and Choice Band Kartana. Rough Skin is the ability of choice to hurt physical attackers that use contact moves which makes Earthquake a guaranteed OHKO against Defensive non-Ice Punch Mega Metagross. Does 4 Spdef have a purpose? If yes, mention what it serves. If no, say its just there not to waste evs or whatevs.

Usage Tips
========

========
Powerful special wallbreakers like Choice Specs Normalium Z Normalium Pz far outclasses specs Porygon-Z or Choice Specs Greninja are great teammates for Garchomp, as they can defeat physically defensive Pokemon like Mega Slowbro and Mega Blastoise, which Garchomp struggles against. Choice Scarf Porygon-Z can also check Mega Lopunny and Jumpluff for Garchomp. Pokemon that are able to defeat the highly used Mega Gyarados such as bulky Mega Charizard Y, and Mega Venusaur are necessary and pair up well with Garchomp, as Mega Gyarados is able to KO it with Outrage after boosting its Attack. Mega Gyarados itself emerges as another great teammate for Garchomp, as it is capable of defeating Sturdy Pokemon and other Pokemon that Garchomp is not able to defeat like Mega Aggron, Dragonite, and Donphan. Garchomp has great synergy with Mega Venusaur, since Mega Venusaur beats Mega Gyarados, Donphan, Magnezone, Mega Altaria, and Mega Slowbro, which defeat Garchomp, while Garchomp can check the Pokemon that defeat Mega Venusaur such as Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Pinsir, and non-Ice Punch Mega Metagross.

Earthquake is its Ground-type STAB lets it defeat Mega Metagross without Ice Punch, Magnezone, bulky Primarina reasoning in Overview, Blaziken, and Mega Tyranitar, and bulky Mega Mawile.

Set Details
========
248 HP investment increases Mega Garchomp's overall bulk, compared to the bulk it would receive by investing fully into Defense. 80 SpD along with the HP investment ensure that Mega Garchomp survives a combination of Never Ending Nightmare and Shadow Sneak from Aegislash, Hydro Vortex and Aqua Jet from Primarina yes but you're going to activate Torrent a good percentage of the time Hidden Power Ice from Electrium Magnezone, and a combination of Rock Tomb from Diancie and Moonblast from Mega Diancie This matchup is p complicated. This statement is true vs the most used set, bulky offense, but isn't true for offensive Diancie Mega, which can roll a KO with unmegaed rock tomb into megaed moonblast. However, vs Offensive Diance you OHKO with eq even if they don't mega, no need to rock tomb. So I would recommend changing this to just "Tank Moonblast from a Mega Diance" and go into more detail in usage tips.

Usage Tips
========
Mega Garchomp boasts immense bulk and its advantage can be used in the Team Preview to send it against all Sturdy Pokemon, Mega Charizard X later on you describe how this is a 50/50, so I wouldn't pair X with mons that are guaranteed, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Lucario, Blaziken, and Magnezone. With the added bulk, it can defeat them but due to comparatively less power it trades away victory against bulky Pokemon. Avoid sending it against Greninja, Tapu Lele, and bulky Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Zygarde-C wait but you said u beat Zygarde-C earlier with SD, Chansey, and Mega Slowbro. So is Mega Charizard X not guaranteed? You can keep this here if it isn't, bc its a very relevant mon, but the rest of your analysis gives off the impression that this is a solid answer. If it isn't change your analysis to reflect that

Team Options
========
Terrakion can help Mega Garchomp by checking Porygon-Z, Kyurem, and Chansey, as well as providing a guaranteed answer to Mega Charizard X. The duo of Garchomp and Terrakion scare off Charizard and lure in Sturdy Pokemon from the Team Preview which can be defeated by Mega Garchomp. Choice Specs Greninja can be paired to defeat Zygarde-C again, you already said Megachomp beats Zygarde with SD, offensive Dragonite, Mega Altaria, Jumpluff, and Nagandel which threaten Mega Garchomp while in return Mega Garchomp can check Mega Charizard Y, Sturdy Pokemon like Golem and Magnezone for supporting Greninja.

Other Options
=============

Choice Scarf boosts Garchomp's Speed, letting it defeat fast offensive threats such as non-Choice Scarf Greninja and Naganadel and granting it guaranteed win against Blaziken but without Choice Band's Attack boost, it's unable to defeat bulky Pokemon like Mega Mawile, Magearna, and Aegislash. A Haban Berry set with an EV spread of 248 HP / 48 Atk / 112 Def / 96 SpD / 4 Spe with a Jolly nature and the moves Rock Tomb, Outrage, Earthquake, and Substitute can be used to defeat Dragon-types including Dragonite Flyinium wins if ddance, Naganadel, Latios, and Haxorus but it comes at a cost of Garchomp's offensive power and leaves it unable to defeat bulky Pokemon like Mega Venusaur and Chansey. Fling can be used with the Choiced sets to defeat Air Balloon Heatran and Magnezone AB Magnezone has below 6% usage, basically irrelevant. Mega Garchomp can also run a specially defensive set with an EV spread of 200 HP / 52 Atk / 252 SpD / 4 Spe with an Adamant nature to defeat Porygon-Z 252+ SpA Porygon-Z Ice Beam vs. 200 HP / 252 SpD Garchomp-Mega: 360-428 (88.4 - 105.1%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO, Choice Specs Necrozma, Psychium Z Tapu Lele 172+ SpA Tapu Lele Shattered Psyche (175 BP) vs. 200 HP / 252 SpD Garchomp-Mega in Psychic Terrain: 364-429 (89.4 - 105.4%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO, Primarina, and Choice Scarf Latios at the cost of losing to powerful physical attackers like Mega Charizard X and Reversal Mega Lucario. Corkscrew Crash with Iron Tail lets Garchomp lure in and defeat some Fairy types that usually defeat it, namely bulky Tapu Lele and Mega Altaria.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Ice-type Attacks**: Ice-type moves mostly OHKO Garchomp, as it is 4x weak to Ice. Pokemon like Porygon-Z, Mega Gyarados, Donphan, Greninja, Magnezone There are definitely much better examples, as only Specs HP Ice is a consistent threat, which is v rare Avalugg, and Genesect carry Ice-type moves and are able to defeat Garchomp if they outspeed it or survive its attacks.

**Faster Offensive Pokemon**: Garchomp gets outsped by some hard hitters like Greninja, Naganadel, Mega Lopunny even with no bulk Mega Lopunny isn't guaranteed to beat it, and Choice Scarf users like Porygon-Z, and Latios which can OHKO it before it gets a chance to retaliate.

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Physically defensive Pokemon like Mega Slowbro, Mega Sableye, and PP Stall Deoxys-S can tank Mega Garchomp's hits and either wear it down by boosting their defenses and healing or KO it with their attacks. However, Z-Move Garchomp can defeat all of the aforementioned threats, Mega Slowbro if using Rest. uh lol what? fix whatever this is supposed to mean

Tapu fini isn't a consistent answer at all, and you can naturally live a partially invested moonblast and win with Groundium

Overall pretty extensive. Be sure to double check your calcs and make sure certain matchups are as guaranteed as you think they are. There were one or two statements that had very poor grammar, so it was hard to understand what you were trying to say and thus I couldn't really QC them; just lmk what those actually meant and I'll give my thoughts. Also only mention specific 50/50 strategies if they're against very common and viable Pokemon, otherwise it isn't really noteworthy to mention a matchup it loses as much as it wins. Specifically, as I highlighted, the 50/50s vs donphan didn't need to be there, but 50/50s vs Char X could stay, as its an incredibly prevalent force. After implementing, QC 3/3
