ORAS OU Gardevoir take me to Churge - Offensive Team

Teambuilding process

I wanted to use a mega that did not rely on special attack sicne the current meta is already centered around physical attackers with will-o-misses all over the place. It will take away atleast one worry for my lategame cleaner.
This is why i choose for a core revolving around mega gardevoir, a very good partner was pursuit trapping bisharp. Together they can dismantle almost all of the common stall cores in the metagame.

The main core i choose had a rather glaring weakness vs mega/stall scizor, for this reason i choose gyarados. But since I also wanted to give gyarados more sweeping potential I needed something that could get rid of other threats that could wall gyara.

For this role I choose contrary serperior, I always wanted to do something with this pokemon but I never came around to do it. But with the addition of gyrados I could run a dual core team forming of Gyara+serperior and mega garde + trap bisharp

In my suicide lead spot I wanted a pokemon that could reliably set up atleast rocks. This reminded me of my beginning days in gen5: custap skarmory. Not only has this beast solid defence, typing and acces to SR AND spikes. he has the amazing ability sturdy which is perfect for a suicide lead almost always guaranteeing that i get SR up and a high chance of setting up 1+ layer of spikes.

In my last slot I wanted a spinner so I could get rid of the hazards my opponents would stack on me when my bisharp was doing his suicide thing. It also needed to have offensive properties so it would fit my team better, this is why I went with starmie. It has nice offensive pressure and can spin away the hazards.

In the end I had to kick starmie out of my team, being able to spin away hazards is nice but in the end it lost me quite the amount of momentum trying to create an opening to actually spin them away. This took against skilled opponents so much time that I decided to go for a scarfed revenge killer instead.
With a scarf kyu-b outspeeds most if not all of the unboosted meta in OU and with mixed attacker properties this made the perfect revenge killer.
Since I lost my hazard control I didnt choose for talonflame cause of his 4x rockweakness (even tho a bulkupset could still work i rather dont loose a turn for a forced roost)

Sin (Gardevoir) (M) @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 24 Def / 232 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Taunt

EVS Garde's Defense Evs allow him to switch in on any of latios moves turning LO psychock into a solid 3hko (when no rocks are present).
Hyper Voice hyper voice together with pixilate is a scary attack that hits oponents trying to hide substitutes.
Actually the set is pretty generic the interesting thing I really want to point out is Taunt. With taunt mega gardevoir is able to literally descimate stall cores and not allowing them to stall out with screens and what not. There is also a possibility to choose Will-o-Miss over taunt so mega garde can punish mega metagross (or any ph attacker) on thinking to get a free set up turn. So youn can keep this in mind for tourney use if someone decides to bring a mega gross to punish you.

Bisharp (F) @ Black Glasses
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 52 SpD / 204 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off
- Pursuit
- Iron Head

Bisharp really loves to switch in on defog users or when sticky web is present. The 52 special defence EVs make sure that bisharp can live the LO boosted HP fire from latios. Gardevoir has problems with mons like jirachi and thanks to bisharp you can trapkill it with pursuit. Since Bisharp generates a lot fo switches after getting that rediculous +2 attack boost from defiant (this ability is just godsent) it can punnish the switched in mon with a knock off that gets another boost of the opposing item gets knocked off. Iron head is another great stab that takes care of most of the fairy department.
The reason why I run black glasses is because it boosts knock off+SP+pursuit and maybe for some retarded reason can make my opponent think im running a banded bisharp since they do notice the increased power but dont see the LO dmg.
Sucker punch is a good move as it can create mindgames with my opponent and can force unwanted playstyles or even force a missplay.

Gyarados @ Lum Berry
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 60 HP / 252 Atk / 196 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Dragon Dance
- Stone Edge

I run Jolly nature + 196 speed EVs so he can outspeed jolly mega lopunny after 1 dragon dance.
Before you start screaming why I dont have bounce on my gyara. I already have the notorious Stone Miss in his moveset and if there is one thing I HATE having 2 shit accuracy moves in one moveset. And since almost everyone expect gyara to run bounce they dont see EQ comming and has given me A LOT of wins as in tourneys as in the ladder. Waterfall is a great stab move that has potential flinching.

There is also an option of running intimidate > Moxie so you can either fake being a mega gyarados or making setingup more easy. But in the long run having the moxie boost is much better sicne you can keep on sweeping sicne all you need is +1 speed to start the sweep. With intimidate you might need to DD one more time for the needed attack boost and lose a precious turn.

497.png

Serperior @ Life Orb
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Dragon Pulse
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Glare

Contrary is a god tier ability on this pokemon, after firing of 1 leaf storm you get a free special SD. Which turns serperior with his good speed tier big sweeping potential. HP fire is to punish bulky steel types thinking that they can switch in and scare out serperior. (also another way to deal with mega scizor, but this is more or less a soft check since it doesnt really have the defences to do so)
Leaf Storm with this ability is just perfect every attack is a free +2 boost in special attack what do you want more? (more PP i know, i know)
Together with glare serp can stun those pesky mons that where previously immune to twave and now have tot hink twice about switching in. it also slows common switchins tremendously down and also give some hop for some parahax.

227.gif
227.png

Skarmory @ Custap Berry
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Brave Bird
- Taunt

Skarmory is my custap lead, bundled with max speed and max attack it outspeeds most of the common leads and prevents them from setting up hazards. After zetting up spikes+rocks skarm can also function more offensively with bravebird, but most of the times skarm doesnt live to use this unless i taunt and can kill next turn or I know that I can kill turn one with BB.

646-black.gif
646-black.png

Kyurem-Black @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 252 Atk / 32 SpA / 224 Spe
Naive Nature
- Ice Beam
- Outrage
- Fusion Bolt
- Dragon Claw

At first I had a spinner starmie here but I noticed after many batles that I lacked a proper scarfer to revenge kill. Since I lost my spinner i didnt wanted something like talonflame, this is why I went with Kyu-B. Packed with a scarf this thing outspeeds most if not all of the unboosted meta in OU. Thanks to his mixed attacking properties he earned his palce as the revenge killer rather easily.

When using Kyu-B do mind that fairies like to switch in on predicted Outrages so only use it when all the fairies are gone. Fusion Bolt is a great move to choose when fairies are present and get poked holes in on the switch/stay in. Ice Beam is a very nice offensive move since it takes down a lot of tier A+ pokemons with relative ease, even with the rather small investment.

I have to recommend Earth Power > Outrage/Dragon Claw on Kyurem-Black, this allows you to hit things like Heatran more efficiently as well as physical steel types like Mega Aggron, as Fusion Bolt isn't sufficent in many cases. Not to mention in the long run you don't need two Dragon STABs

This is a pretty decent looking offensive team, there are a few problems though. The team is easily disrupted/dismantled by Ferrothorn and Scizor. Despite having coverage options like Focus Blast on Mega Gardevoir and Hidden Power [Fire] on Serperior, Scizor can switch in on Kyurem-B, Gardevoir, Bisharp, and Skarmory and clean with SD + Knock Off + Bullet Punch. There isn't anything you could do to stop it once it sets up SD because Serperior can't live a +4 Bullet Punch and Gyarados is KOed by a few +3 Knock Offs. Nothing else can hope to stop Scizor. Ferrothorn can come in on the same Pokemon and flood the field with entry hazards, drop a Leech Seed, and methodically weaken your Pokemon as you frantically switch trying to KO it / keep it out.

To fix this I suggest getting rid of Custap Skarmory and replacing it with Rocky Helmet + Endure Garchomp. The team doesn't need Spike support to rip apart opposing teams, plus Skarmory opens opportunities for your opponent to possibly set up while offering nothing but entry hazards that are easily dispelled by Defog. Rocky Helmet Chomp is a premiere bulky pivot. Fire Blast 2HKOes Ferrothorn and it can weaken Scizor and other threats with Rough Skin + Rocky Helmet residual damage. I would definitely give Mega Gardevoir Will-O-Wisp > Taunt to catch and cripple steel types, like Mega Scizor, that attempt to check it. Another option would be to use Natural Gift > Stone Edge + Cheri Berry on Gyarados to KO Ferrothorn's that attempt to wall it. Natural Gift is a 100 BP Fire Type attack when the user holds a Cheri or Watmel Berry. You could use a Watmel Berry but Cheri cures paralysis, so it could be useful if your opponent seeks to cripple it with a prankster T-Wave mon. If you don't want to risk that, incase your opponent has both a Ferrothorn and a Thundurus, then use the Watmel Berry. Hope I was able to help a bit.

Thats a really nice suggestion i'll be sure to give rocky helm gar a go tonight. You also said that skarm is kind of deadweight outside the ability to lay down spikes+rocks but i've actually gotten quite the amount of kills with him on people trying to use him as setup fodder since for some reason they didnt expect max attack investment and get either one shotted or severly (even after an intimidate) weakened.
And im not really bothered with people defoging my field since it'll open mind games wether i will send in bisharp for a free +2 attack and sweep their team or not (always nice) where only a layer of rocks will make this less needed to defog the field unless they carry something 4x weak to it.

I really like the idea of having natural power on gyarados so i will be sure to test that out ^^

One nipick on the gyara spread you gave: you put an adamant nature on him but without jolly nature gyara cant outspeed lopunny after a DD
Lilligant for OU
Yeah there really hasnt been a case where i used dclaw over outrage unless i need to drag in a fairy thats in the back, but i mostly dont use a dragon type attacks if there still is one alive.
So I will put eart power on it to hit pesky heatrans that sometimes would like to switch on him.
