Name: Mega Pidgeot
Type: Normal / Flying
Ability: No Guard
Stats: No Changes
New Moves: Focus Blast
Description: Just vanilla Mega Pidgeot, but with one very necessary extra move.

:sm/manectric-mega:
Name: Mega Manectric
Type: Electric
Ability: Aftershock
Stats: No Changes
New Moves: No Changes
Description: "Well, you know, because Thunder always comes after... Lightning!" -Lightning McQueen. Vanilla Mega Manectric is already good, but I feel that Intimidate is kinda weird on it (it looks funny more than anything). The new ability allows it to do a bit more damage, while keeping its original stat dropping identity.
If this Pokémon uses an Electric-type attack, the opponent gets hit by an Aftershock at the end of the turn. This aftershock always hits, even if the user switches out or faints, or if the opponent switches out (though it will hit whoever switched in instead). Soundproof Pokémon are immune to the effect.
The Aftershock does 12% HP damage and drops SpA by 1.

Voting Time!

Voting Rules can be found below:
After the submission phase is over, voting will begin. This mod will be using the same voting system as Book of Enigmas, where you can vote for as many submissions as you want, with each submission getting a certain number of points based on how you ranked it. An example can be seen below.
For a slate with Mega Beedrill, Mega Lopunny, and Mega Pidgeot, for example, a ballot would look like this:
Beedrill: User 1, User 2, User 3
Lopunny: User 4, User 5, User 6
Pidgeot: User 7, User 8, User 9

With this ballot, Submission 1 for Mega Beedrill would get 3 points, Submission 2 would get 2, and Submission 3 would get 1. The same goes for Submissions 4, 5, and 6 in the Lopunny category and Submissions 7, 8, and 9 in the Pidgeot category, with them getting 3, 2, and 1 point respectively.

You can add as many submissions are you'd like after your third vote, with each one getting 1 point.
Beedrill: User 1, User 2, User 3
Lopunny: User 4, User 5, User 6
Pidgeot: User 7, User 8, User 9, User 10, User 11
So, in this ballot, Submissions 10 and 11 would also get 1 point in the Pidgeot category.

You can vote for your own submission, but it can't be in first place or your only vote in that category. Be sure to mark your self-vote by putting (SV) after it.
Beedrill: User 12 (SV), User 2, User 3
Lopunny: User 4, User 5, User 6
Pidgeot: User 7, User 8, User 9, User 10, User 11
This wouldn't be a legal ballot as the self-vote is in first place in the Beedrill category

Beedrill: User 12 (SV)
Lopunny: User 4, User 5, User 6
Pidgeot: User 7, User 8, User 9, User 10, User 11
This also wouldn't be a legal ballot as the self-vote is the only vote in the Beedrill category

Beedrill: User 2, User 12 (SV)
Lopunny: User 4, User 12 (SV), User 6
Pidgeot: User 7, User 8, User 12 (SV), User 10, User 11
This is a legal ballot because none of the self-votes are in first place or the only vote in a category.

If you vote for only 2 submissions in a category, the first place submission gets 2 points and the second place submission gets 1 point. If you vote for just one, then that submission gets 1 point.
Beedrill: User 1 (1 point)
Lopunny: User 4 (2 points), User 5 (1 point)
Pidgeot: User 7 (3 points), User 8 (2 points), User 9 (1 point), User 10 (1 point), User 11 (1 point)
The submission with the most points in a category will be added to the mod. For every Mega, you will also have the option to vote for the original Mega Evolution if you aren't a fan of any of the submissions. However, this can't be done for Pokemon whose original Megas were banned to Ubers.
For most slates, the next submission phase will start immediately after voting ends for the previous slate. The long submission phase will still give ample time for discussion and playtesting during the week so you can adjust your submissions. However, every 3 slates or so, one or more roomtours will be held so we can see what state the metagame is in. This may result in winning submissions being nerfed or buffed, depending on what we learn. Buffs and nerfs (mostly nerfs) can also happen at any other time as we learn stuff between roomtours.
All submissions are eligible for voting except for the following:
LOrd Fernado's Pidgeot (Didn't realize this got Agility, which essentially acts like a Shell Smash without the drawback due to its ability, which is pretty insane with its already great Speed)
Gravity Monkey's Absol (Protean seems a bit too strong with 130/120/130 offenses along with Absol's pretty good movepool)

Another sub, LOrd Fernado's Absol, is also vetoable, but I'm gonna be nice because they nerfed it exactly how I told them and it's still broken, so we're going to allow it, but council has free reign to immediately nerf it as they see fit as an official balance change.

Voting will end in 24 hours!

If your sub isn't here and wasn't vetoed then please let me know!

New Moves: Moonblast, Play Rough
Description: The second of the two that I'm doubtless going to vote for the original among my votes, especially since MegaFlareon surprisingly took my idea days ago which is apparently borderline broken anyway. Whoops. Anyway, due a lack of real ideas otherwise, this is mostly just the creatively bankrupt "Fairy glow-up" along that's almost as lazy as the same lines of "give something Regenerator" since the original Pidgeot-Mega is so close to being OU material as it already is despite its sparse movepool. So I figured I would give this the bustedness of Moonblast over the more mundane Dazzling Gleam mostly just to spitefully stick it to Togekiss because honestly screw that thing, forever and always.

Description: Bug Zappers are blue and so is Manectric :). Anyways nearly every flying type has U-turn so this will scare those mons from abusing u-turn to get out of unfavorable matches or gain momentum, while still doing regular manetric things. If you are on crack cocaine you could try extremely hard reads and switch into stuff like lando, gliscor or pinsir, but be mindful a single wrong lead leads to manectric dying instantly, which is not that different from its usual way of using it actually. Slower than the OG, but it outspeeds pretty much everything it wants to outspeed.

Description: i made a joke awhile ago saying "if i sub electric/poison unaware mega manectric it absolutely has nothing to do with calm mind clefable" and i don't have any other ideas so might as well make the joke real. outside of hard countering clefable (until they start running hp ground lmao), being a poison pivot is still great since you get to absorb tspikes and get switch-in opportunities against fairies. gave it a tiny bit more spa (at the cost of speed typing with lopunny) to make up for not having intimidate and getting bodied by earth power venu.

Ability: Technician
Stats: 70 / 150 (+20) / 60 / 75 / 100 (+40) / 115 (+40) [BST; 565]
New Moves: None
Description: Technician and Aerial Ace gives it a very consistent secondary STAB to use with SD, which combined with its coverage makes this very threatening to switch into; while the extra special bulk makes it easier to switch into the main Psychic-types of the tier
:sm/absol-mega:
Name: Mega Absol
Type:
Dark.png

Ability: Bad Omen - After successfully landing a physical move, the opponent is hit with an 90 BP Future Sight two turns later.
Stats: 65 / 160 (+30) / 71 (+11) / 95 (+20) / 71 (+11) / 112 (+38) [565 BST]
New Moves: Close Combat, U-Turn
Description: Who needs a Future Sighting partner when you're your own Future Sight? Taking inspiration from To The Gigantamax's G-Max Absol whose GMax move hit the opponent with a 60 BP Hurricane or Inferno at the end of each turn (funny mod), Absol can set up a checkmate with strong Dark moves and a Future Sight in one slot. While obviously not as strong as that could be on paper since the Future Sight is only 90 BP from a 95 SpA stat, it can still be a pain to switch around for Fighting-type Knock switch-ins, knowing they can't stay in too long less they risk getting picked off by a weak Future Sight. Close Combat comes from Gen 8, giving Absol a way to hit Ferrothorn and bulkier Dark resists that could tank a Play Rough, while U-Turn pairs with Bad Omen to help its teammates.
:sm/absol-mega:
Name: Absol-Mega
Type: Dark/Ground
Ability: Aeromancy = This Pokémon's Attack is raised by one stage when hit by a Flying attack; Flying immunity.
Stats: 065 HP / 150 Atk (+20) / 075 Def (+15) / 075 SpA / 075 SpD (+15) / 125 Spe (+50)
New Moves: Earthquake, Earth Power, Spikes, Tailwind
Description: Gods, as much as Absol-Mega is one of the few mons whose Mega design I like visually, the stats on regular Absol and its already existent movepool make it so damn hard to balance given how utterly frail it is. Took forever to think of an ability that seemed good enough without broken...and then Yoshiblaze essentially did the same idea I had. Yay. Oh well, like with Alazakam-Mega, at least someone did it. As for this "backup", I was vaguely considering just giving it Wind Rider, but that'd be kind stupid with Tailwind even with its fraility and newfound weakness to no less than three forms of priority. As it is now, however, it does block Defog, which is a niche in and of itself even if Zapdos tends to use a non-STAB move, meaning it doesn't hilariously auto-wall it as it might otherwise. The type and ability also is a decent if still frail check to the new Aerodactyl-Mega's "vintage" Hurricane without being weak to Earthquake (though it sure as hell doesn't like it either with that HP). Not much else to say about it, honestly.
:sm/medicham-mega:
Name: Mega Medicham
Type: Fighting / Psychic
Ability: All-Seeing Eye (This Pokemon's Psychic status moves heal it for 1/4 max HP.)
Stats: 60 / 60 / 75 / 130 (+70) / 135 (+60) / 50 (-30) [510]
New Moves: Aura Sphere, Future Sight, Trick Room, Healing Wish, Heart Swap, Ice Beam
Description: megacham is p cool already but heres an ability i like. you can use it with setup like cm or utility like tr or heart swap, plus theres other janky shit you can fool around with like magic coat or gravity or dual screens. limited by its bad physical bulk which prevents its cm set from getting out of hand too quickly.

Stats: 60 / 60 / 100 (+25) / 90 (+30) / 100 (+25) / 100 (+20) [510 BST]
New Moves: Aura Sphere, Thunderbolt, Close Combat, Gunk Shot, Healing Wish
Description: I'mma be honest, I don't think I can improve on base MegaCham (love that mon despite it being only my 2nd favorite Psychic/Fighting Mega), but lemme at least try to make it something unique since Mega Gallade is coming later. Gallade and/or Heracross will (likely) have the strong physical Fighting-type Mega niche down, while Lopunny already has the fast Fighting-type Mega nice down, so for Medicham I decided to try to make it more Specially focused, which no other Fighting Mega can do. While a bit boring, considering Medicham's super low BST, a simple Special version of Huge Power is a very effective way to achieve this. Focus Blast, Aura Sphere, Vacuum Wave, Thunderbolt, Psychic, Psyshock, Shadow Ball, and your choice of Hidden Power (likely Ice for Lando and Gliscor) all go hard based off of a doubled 90 SpA stat, while Medicham's okay bulk can let it tank a hit in a pinch. It's still a bit slow for a Mega and doesn't quite have the nuclear power of the MegaCham of old, but Special moves being generally better + Vacuum Wave giving it STAB priority should help it a lot. Close Combat, Gunk Shot, and Healing Wish are all new tools for base Medi to maybe make base form viable enough to make it worth bluffing Mega Medicham and then suprising your opponent with Scarfed base Medi or something.

New Moves: Close Combat, Psycho Shift, Stored Power, Superpower
Description: While this and Pidgeot-Mega are the mons this time that I'll probably vote for the originals for among my votes, I did at least want to try to submit things for them, and this one was way easier to think of compared to Pidgeot-Mega even if I had to add more moves than I would have liked. Contrary allows me to stick rather close to the "Mega with seemingly underwhelming stats that gets pretty out of hand (in theory)" idea that the original has and is also rather funny against Intimidate on a physical attacker. Contrary Superpower is self-explanatory, so I'll just point out that the seemingly redundant Close Combat is there more for Stored Power than anything else, and Psycho Shift is just there merely because I've always found it neat and super underused, in part because so few things get it. This should be fine as far as balance goes despite having Drain Punch between Ghosts, unaware Clefable, and 110 Speed not actually being that fast on top of it needing like two turns to become really threatening instead of being immediately threatening like regular Medicham-Mega.

That feeling when more of the Pidgeot-Megas are physical even when your own semi-joke one is included:

:medicham-mega: Medicham-Mega: anaconja, Yoshiblaze, Gekokeso, jayballester, The Damned (SV) {I do quite like the original, but, yeah, "physically-oriented Fighting type Mega that obliterates" is a bit of an overcrowded space among official Megas unfortunately.}

I didn't want to throw MegaFlareon's Medicham-Mega under the bus by asking earlier since I figured you would say something one way or other, but since it wasn't vetoed, I feel better about asking it now: are we allowed to add the Terrain moves to movepools now given that two of them technically exist in this gen now via Venusaur-Mega and Blastoise-Mega despite the moves themselves not existing until Gen 7?

I didn't want to throw MegaFlareon's Medicham-Mega under the bus by asking earlier since I figured you would say something one way or other, but since it wasn't vetoed, I feel better about asking it now: are we allowed to add the Terrain moves to movepools now given that two of them technically exist in this gen now via Venusaur-Mega and Blastoise-Mega despite the moves themselves not existing until Gen 7?

Grassy, Electric and Misty Terrain existed in Gen 6.

:sm/pidgeot-mega:
Name: Mega Pidgeot
Type: Normal / Flying
Ability: No Guard
Stats: No Changes
New Moves: Focus Blast
Description: Just vanilla Mega Pidgeot, but with one very necessary extra move.
:sm/absol-mega:
Name: Mega Absol
Type: Dark / Fairy
Ability: Neuroforce
Stats: 65 / 130 / 60 / 135 (+60) / 60 / 115 (+40) [565]
New Moves: Close Combat, Moonblast, Moonlight
Description: takes advantage of its wide movepool to do big damage boosted by neuroforce. fairy gives it a entry point in lati@s.
:xy/manectric-mega:
Name: Mega Manectric
Typing:
Electric.png

Ability: Bug Zapper (Bug type immunity. When hit by a bug type move, trap the opponent.)
HP:
70
Atk: 75
Def: 60 --> 80 (+20)
SpA: 105 --> 135 (+30)
SpD: 60 --> 85 (+25)
Spe: 105--> 130 (+25)
New Moves:
None
Description: Bug Zappers are blue and so is Manectric :). Anyways nearly every flying type has U-turn so this will scare those mons from abusing u-turn to get out of unfavorable matches or gain momentum, while still doing regular manetric things. If you are on crack cocaine you could try extremely hard reads and switch into stuff like lando, gliscor or pinsir, but be mindful a single wrong lead leads to manectric dying instantly, which is not that different from its usual way of using it actually. Slower than the OG, but it outspeeds pretty much everything it wants to outspeed.
:sm/medicham-mega:
Name: Mega Medicham
Type:
Fighting.png
Psychic.png

Ability: Brain Power - This Pokémon's SpA is doubled

Slate 8 will start either very shortly or early tomorrow!

A bit late, but next slate time!

- Slate 8: One For The Little Guys -
:sm/beedrill-mega::sm/sableye-mega::sm/mawile-mega:
Beedrill, Sableye, Mawile

For this slate, we have one highly anticipated trio, being the three lowest BST Megas, Beedrill, Sableye, and Mawile! All 3 were bottom-dwellers in the tiering rung (aside from Sableye in Gen 5 for a bit) that became certified all stars thanks to their Megas, with Sableye and Mawile even being banned in vanilla ORAS! Mega Beedrill's stat spread is the definition of minmaxing, turning it from one of the worst early game Bugs to the best in an instant. Sableye's massive defensive prowess and broken abilities before and while Mega Evolved made it THE stall Mega, being unkillable enough to get banned. And base Mega Mawile really needs no introduction, having the best type in the game, good stats despite a low BST, and Huge Power tells you all you need to know. How will you be able to work around these Pokemon's low stats to help them reach their former heights? (Though maybe not as high for Sableye and Mawile)

Refer to the rules located on the OP for how you should sub:

Voting Phase (1 Day)
After the submission phase is over, voting will begin.

Ability: Tough Claws
Stats: 78 / 130 (+46) / 111 (+33) / 130 (+21) / 85 / 100 [634 BST]
New Moves: N/A
Description: Mega Charizard X can act as a dangerous Dragon Dance sweeper with strong Tough Claws-boosted moves in Flare Blitz, Outrage, Dragon Claw, and Thunder Punch. A unique defensive typing and decent bulk makes setting up much easier, made even easier with Roost. Walled by very bulky Water-types, Heatran (if you don't run EQ), and checked by Landorus-T.

Submissions will end in 7 Days.
As it is for all Megas in Ubers in base ORAS, Original Sableye and Original Mawile will not be slated once voting comes

:sm/mawile-mega:
Name: Mawile-Mega
Type:

Fairy.png

Ability: Huge Power
Stats: 50 / 95 (+10) / 125 (+40) / 65 (+10) / 95 (+40) / 55 [480 BST]
New Moves: –
Description: Mawile is probably my favorite mega, I think its design is already really solid. Sadly it's a bit overtuned for the ORAS metagame. Hopefully, a -10 Atk nerf should keep it strong but manageable.

:sm/beedrill-mega:
Name: Beedrill-Mega
Type:
Bug.png
Poison.png

Ability: Sting Rupture (This pokemon's contact moves leave a layer of spikes on the ground)
Stats: 65 / 150 (+60) / 40 / 45 / 80 / 115 (+40) [495 BST]
New Moves: –
Description: A mega on such a weak base needs to be high impact to be any useful. This ability most definitely is. Just by U-turning around, you have a high impact on the rest of the game, especially in a gen where removal is somewhat limited. It still carries the og mega's flaws as well as a worse speed though.

:sm/sableye-mega:
Name: Mega Sableye
Type:
Dark.png
Ghost.png

Ability: Magic Bounce
Stats: 50 / 95 (+20) / 115 (+40) / 85 (+20) / 115 (+50) / 20 (-30) [480 BST]
New Moves: none
Description: it’s original msab but with 10 defense moved to attack, should be balanced with this rebalance + the other megas.

:sm/beedrill-mega:
Name: Mega Beedrill
Type:
Bug.png
Rock.png

Ability: Good as Gold
Stats: 65 / 140 (+50) / 75 (+35) / 15 (-30) / 80 / 120 (+45) [495 BST]
New Moves: Stone Edge, Rock Slide, Smack Down, Stealth Rock, Fake Out
Description: GaG protects from status and can block defog, giving a niche over pinsir. Rock type gives good coverage for the flying types that will likely be defogging, and Fake Out lets you mega safely while doing chip damage. a little more defense will hopefully let it not insta die to any hit, and SR could see use as a suicide lead.

Name: Mega Beedrill
Type: Bug/Electric
Ability: Galvanize (20% boost)
Stats: 65 HP / 145 Atk / 40 Def / 15 SpA / 80 SpD / 150 Spe [495 BST] (+55 Atk, -30 SpA, +75 Spe)
New Moves: None
Description: Gives the metagame a unique role: a physical Electric-type with a reliable and powerful Electric STAB thanks to Galvanize. This allows Beedrill to hit new defensive threats that it couldn't hit before, such as Skarmory and Tornadus-Therian. It's still walled by the likes of Ferrothorn and Landorus-T to keep it balanced. No Quick Attack keeps it vulnerable to priority, though it doesn't really need the move thanks to its incredible Speed and the need to run Protect. Its Electric typing also gives it a full paralysis immunity to keep its blazing Speed intact.

Name: Mega Sableye
Type: Dark/Ghost
Ability: Dauntless Shield (Gen 8)
Stats: 50 HP / 85 Atk / 115 Def / 115 SpA / 65 SpD / 50 Spe [480 BST] (+10 Atk, +40 Def, +50 SpA)
New Moves: None
Description: Trades its broken Magic Guard ability for a massive physical bulk boost. Can work as a physical wall, support, or a Calm Mind sweeper. Super low special bulk means that it's very vulnerable to special attacks without a Calm Mind boost.

:sm/Mawile-Mega:
Name: Mega Mawile
Type: Steel/Fairy
Ability: Sheer Force
Stats: 50 HP / 125 Atk / 105 Def / 55 SpA / 55 SpD / 70 Spe [480 BST] (+40 Atk, +20 Def, +20 Spe)
New Moves: None
Description: Keeps Sheer Force from its base form but now has the right stats to use it. Increased speed makes it less reliant on Sucker Punch and actually use its Sheer Force-boosted moves.

Description: Alright drop your pitchforks people, hear me out. Og Mega Sableye in this meta is more likely to not be nearly as infurianting to play against than in base Oras thanks to the addition of mons like Blastoise-mega among others, and Purifying Salt is practically a magic bounce sidegrade. One of the biggest factors that led to Sableye's ban was just how ridiculous it could facilitate ORAS stall, thanks to being both the ultimate spin blocker and highly deterring the use of hazards. Crystal clear manages to keep the original aspect that made the original so useful on stall structures while making sure one can still set up hazards on it. It also makes opposing ghost types such as gengar and cofa be easy matchs for it to face against. In order to make it more interesting, i applied the speed drop to spa instead and gave it attack, as well as rocks and bulk up for people willing to risk going for meme sets with its newfound power. Lack of speed drop also allows it to outspeed nearly every paralysed mon courtesy of gen 6 speed mechanics (it outspeeds jolly lopunny when paralysed lmao.)

Description: More Defensive take on Megamaw due to the meta’s current oversaturation of offensive physical steel type megas. It's designed to use its great typing in order to get switch in opportunities on the likes of Clefable, Serperior, Medicham-mega among others and punish them from trying to setup. Can also revenge kill some of the faster ones of them with sucker punch.

Mega Beedrill

Ability: Hive Minded
Hive Minded:
User's contact moves apply the Infestation effect on hit. (foes lose 1/8th of their max HP each turn and cannot switch for 3-5 turns or until the user switches out)
Stats: 65 / 120 (+30) / 40 / 15 (-30) / 110 (+30) / 145 (+70)
New Moves: Zen Headbutt, Heart Stamp, Spiky Shield
Description: vanilla Mega Beedrill is designed to just kinda mash the U-turn button because, fair enough, not a lot to work with here.

What if it didn't do that though. (and also didn't have any hazard mitigation mechanics slapped on. For the extra challenge)

While Mega Beedrill won't be able to hit the field all too many times, Hive Minded makes Mega Beedrill a nuisance to switch around when it does. It can use a Knock Off that traps the foe, deals solid chip damage, and removes the foe's item when relevant. Once it does, it can apply further chip damage by using the newly gained Spiky Shield to deal contact chip and get another tick of infestation damage, and after that it can use it's incredibly high speed to safely U-turn out for even more chip, or it can use the same slots to do other nasty things, like really fast STAB Heart Stamps to flinch fish, or use Poison Jab to hit Clefable, the only Magic Guard user that actually wants to switch in against it. (Funny enough, regular Beedrill has a miniscule chance to 2HKO Bold Max Clef with Poison Jab... do with this what you may.)
