Introduction to BH
Balanced Hackmons (BH) is a format in other metagames that lets players to use any Pokémon, ability, moves and use 252 EV's for every stat possible. So there are endless possibilities for Pokémon sets, but Balanced Hackmons has a little banlist consisting overpowered things like Mega Rayquaza and Parental Bond to balance the tier a little. There are still clauses like OHKO and Sleep clause but the Species clause is not here anymore though. Like every format, BH has a metagame and I will discuss about the sets them here below~ So enjoy my article about the BH metagame and counters.
1. Sweepers and Wallbreakers
Sweepers are Pokémon that can demolish a team usually relying on stat boosts, usually Tail Glow for special attackers and Shift Gear for Physical attackers, they are usually frail but some can take a hit. They need to watch out against spectral thief, because it steals the boosts that they already setup with, and the frale ones usually don't have a chance to setup again. The most common sweepers are showed below~

EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Light of Ruin
- Photon Geyser
- Tail Glow
- Mind Blown
As the Pokémon that has the highest special attack in the format, Mega-Mewtwo-Y dominates the battlefield after just 1 single Tail Glow. It gets the Life Orb + Tail Glow boost, and because of Magic Guard, Mewtwo doesn't get the recoil from Life Orb, Light of Ruin and Mind Blown. It is weak to spectral thief and it's got mediocre defense, usually spectral thief is for physical attackers and Mewtwo boosts special attack, so there's almost no reason to spectral thief it unless it's low in HP. With Photon Geyser the boosts, it can sweep threats like Marshadow and Mega-Gengar because it usually outspeed them. Also, Photon Geyser ignores abilities, so It's a great counter to Sturdy Shedinja or Unaware Tanks.
