[Gen 8] PokeClasses
approved by charizard8888
In some RPGs, you can select a class for your character that gives it boosts. Likewise, perks/skills give certain abilities. Boosts and abilities, you say? Both of those can be done in Pokémon! So that's where I got this idea. The premise is, the Pet Mod allows for the creation of "classes" you can choose for your Pokémon by nicknaming them. These give stat boosts and can function like abilities, giving certain side effects. They can be existing side effects given by existing abilities, or new side effects. Additionally, there are 2 side projects of this mod; one is called PokeSkills where we come up with additional skills that can be given to a Pokemon by replacing a move with that skill. You can only have one skill active at a time, and the skill has to pertain to the particular class you're using. The other is called PokeCreatures, where we sub creatures from Oblivion. The only rule for PokeCreatures is that the mon should be at least somewhat viable in OU.

Example:
Warrior:
Boost - Grants a 20% bonus to Atk.
Side Effect - Attacks that make contact do an additional 10% damage.

There will be 21 classes based on the classes from the game "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion": https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Classes. Each slate would do subs for a class, then next a vote on them. So 21 slates, altogether, in two phases. PokeSkills will use these as skills: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Skills. There will be 2 PokeSkills per slate, with 21 PokeSkills total, meaning PokeSkills will end after Slate 13.

Rules: When submitting classes and PokeSkills, make sure you submit at least one "side-effect".

Typically, subs and voting will last one week total, subs lasting 4 days, voting lasting 3. Votes are formatted 1, 2, 3; you can vote for yourself in the third slot.

Destruction:
+20% SpA
+10% SpD
-20% Def
-30% Atk

-Secondary Effect chances are increased by 50% ( i.e. 30% --> 45% )
-Light Screen, Reflect, and Aurora Veil now reduce 55% of damage taken
-Health restored by draining moves increased by 30%
-Status moves have their accuracy increased by 20%
-Hidden Power is 10% stronger
Blade:
-Boosts the power of slashing moves by 30%: Sacred Sword, Secret Sword, Slash, Night Slash, Psycho Cut, Leaf Blade, Solar Blade, Razor Shell, Smart Strike
-Reduces the damage taken from slashing moves by 50%
-Immune to atk drops
Destruction:
-Fire, Electric, and Ice attacks leave a storm on the opposing side for 3 turns, dealing 1/8 damage at the end of each turn, except to pokemon who are immune to that type. Only one storm can be active at once, and fails if the same type storm is already in effect.

Warrior:
So from what I can tell Warrior is the middle ground for Oblivion’s “pure martial” classes, between the offensive power of the Barbarian and the impenetrable wall of the Knight. Figured I’d run with that idea.

Raw Stat Changes:
+ 20% Atk increase
+ 20% Def increase
- 10% SpA decrease
- 10% SpD decrease

Effects:
10% more damage dealt with contact moves.
10% less damage taken from enemy contact moves.
Immune to Intimidate.
Damage taken from Stealth Rock and Spikes is halved.
Taunt gains +1 priority.
Taunt also applies Follow Me to the user (only noticeable in Doubles).
20% chance to shake off status conditions at the end of each turn (essentially a slightly weaker Shed Skin).
Yung Dramps (1)
Thief
+30% Speed
+15% Attack
-10% Defense
-15% Special Defense
-15% Special Attack

+1 priority moves on moves that steal items (not Knock Off, stuff like Trick, Thief, Covet etc. is fair game tho)
1.5x moves of 55 BP or below
Cannot have Speed be reduced in any fashion

Destruction:
-20% less def and atk
-all special fire, ice, and electric moves have their secondary effect chance doubled

Work!
Warrior
Buffs
  • Grants Atk and Def boost upon entry
  • In doubles, user has a Follow Me effect
  • User has a Guts effect
  • Boosts power of cut/slash moves by 50% (Cut, Slash, Night Slash, Shadow Claw, Cross Poison, Leaf Blade, Air Cutter, Psycho Cut)
Debuffs
  • User's speed is halved (Iron Ball)
  • Inflicts SpA and SpD drop upon entry

Warriors in many RPGs are about tanking and aggro moreso than damage. Looking at the available classes, a lot of the other melee classes seem like better fits for offense ( like barbarian, crusader ), except perhaps Knight. Most of these boosts are therefore designed for defense, however the buff to Taunt and the quasi-metronome effect also give it the ability to trade blows back and forth while coming out on top, which is an option if you want a bulky attacker warrior.

Buffs:
- 10% increase to Defense
- 10% increase to Special Defense
- 10% reduction to Speed
Side Effects:
- Taunt lasts an additional 3 turns
- Takes 15% less damage from contact moves
- Attacks gain a 5% damage boost whenever a move is used repeatedly, up to a maximum of 50%
- Cannot be killed in one hit from full health
- Cannot use Special Attacks

So from what I can tell Warrior is the middle ground for Oblivion’s “pure martial” classes, between the offensive power of the Barbarian and the impenetrable wall of the Knight. Figured I’d run with that idea.

So I completely forgot that I need to specify:
Vote for your top three submissions, in the order of preference. If voting for yourself, it must be in the third slot.
Voting has been extended until Sunday.
